GOP Debate: Bachmann Calls Perry ‘Highly Naive’ Over Position on U.S. Aid to Pakistan

Minnesota congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Texas Gov. Rick Perry clashed during Tuesday night’s foreign policy debate over whether the United States should continue to provide more than $1 billion in aid to Pakistan.

“Pakistan has been the epicenter of dealing with terrorism,” Bachmann stated. She qualified that the country also “shares intelligence data with us regarding al-Qaeda” for a price.

Perry blasted, “if you are not an ally of the United States, do not expect a dime of our money to come in.”

Watch the two contenders spar over aid to Pakistan:

Bachmann, meanwhile, called Perry “highly naive” for his position on cutting U.S. aid to Pakistan, calling the country “too nuclear to fail.” Watch below:

If Perry was quick minded he could have placed a fork in Bachman during the debate when she called him naive. When she sits on the intelligence committee I think it would be a fair question to ask her, that for our money did she know Osama bin Laden was in a fortified compound just a few miles from one Pakistan’s largest military bases, if so why didn’t she share that information with us earlier. Did our tax money buy Pakistan protection for our military secrets from other potential agencies like the Chinese for our down Seal chopper. It appears if anyone is naive it is Mrs. Bachman and it scares me to death she is on the intelligence committee much less wants to be President. Somebody pinch me and tell me this is a bad dream because she makes Ron Paul look good and that’s scary.

What is going to destroy us first … the boogie man or the 15 trillion in debt?

Do you know where this money actually ends up? NO

Do you know how mch money is actually given? NO

Do really know who your friend is? NO

How long do you keep sending these parasites money ….. forever? NO

Policticans can not keep track of waste right here in the US and you want them to bribe the world. Wake the hell up people, if we do not pay them they will have less to invest in corruption and buying weapons. This waste of money needs to be STOPPED today.

She said the ideas were naive and she is correct. Do you want the Chinese of the Russians, or the Iranians getting information rather than us? These are corrupt Governments and at less than 1 day of Obama’s $4 Billiion in Deficit spending it’s a bargain. It is a far better investment than the Trillions in bogus stimulus paid to our own Corrupt Government!
And don’t think for a minute we have not known exactly where bin laden was for years upon years. Watching that compound was an intelligence gold mine that was thrown away for far more devious politics. The kind of politics that will cost far mire than a few bills, and many lives! Thinkabout it.

It’s “highly naive” to assume that taxpayer dollars are insuring honesty from Pakistan. That country harbored Osama bin Laden. The State Department also paid out millions to rescue Raymond Davis, the alleged CIA operative who had a shoot out with teams that were tailing him.
Governor Perry is a Christian, a veteran, a marksman, and has a stable marriage. That makes him a good fit for my family. He is not likely to be the nominee, but we will settle for second choice only when forced to.

So were going to beat up Gingrich on an immigration issue while Michelle Bachman is saying we should continue to use Pakistan? Would she be talking about “Show our technology to the Chinese” Pakistan? Or is she referring to the the “funnell US Aid dollars to terrorist sources” Pakistan? No wait, I’ve got it, she got it mixed up with the “Harboring Osama Bin Laden for a year” Pakistan. We want Perry and Gingrich to be cut and dry on immigration, and then Bachman gets to split hairs about a country that is using our monetary aid to essentially KILL our men and women while disquising themselves as our friend!

So…..I see what she is saying in between the lines…America has gotten into the business of yielding to extortion. We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars every year to our not so friendly neighbors to bribe countries/terrorist from sending a nuke into America. These countries have learned that they can extort America into paying Trillions over the last decade over threats of violence. I think Perry is right…we have to totally restructure the way we do business across this globe…you know why? Because we are broke and the day is fast approaching we cannot buy off our enemies/friends much longer and then we are SITTING DUCKS. Sorry…but Michelle is wrong on this…Perry has my vote!

    Debate wrap up:
Romney – Just elect me and I’ll keep everything the same
Gingrich – Fair on national security, lousy on immigration
Cain – unfortunately displayed his weakness
Perry – how did Texas survive this long?
Paul – Got the straightjacket off in time for the debate (whew! that was a close one)
Bachman – the most informed and intelligent of all on stage, clearly left the field behind
Huntsman – his base, the far left, is extremely happy with his performance this AM
    Santorum – Who?

Unless you are completely brain dead or part of the progs and zealots that are trying to take over this site, Michelle Bachman is far superior on foreign policy than anyone on that stage last night. Her answers were concise and coherent. Her understanding of the world in which we live is above reproach. It’s sad that we let the progressive media tear her down because of issues like gays and religion. I was a Cain supporter for a long time. But it is painfully apparent that he’s out of his league on foreign policy. And we can’t have this in the world we presently live in.
But, of course, all of this is moot. Because we allow the media to steer these elections to their choices, not ours. This country will not recover until we defeat both, the media and the status quo in Washington. We need to get over the idea that we take whomever can defeat the opponent. Because in the long and short of it, they are the opponent. Romney is not the answer!

I love Michele and agree with her about 99.9% of the time ..but I do not support giving foreign aid to anybody ..it’s unconstitutional ..it’s blood money. But she is right, if we don’t influence that region, nuclear weapons will spread and radical terrorist will most certainly use them against us. The only way to prevent this scenario without giving them foreign aid is to invade Pakistan and confiscate all of their nuclear weapons, then give their country back to them. Ruthless?? Maybe ..but I can support that

We pay them a billion dollars for ‘intel’ and they either didn’t know bin Laden was in their country, which shows their intel sucks, or they were lying to us, which shows they don’t tell us crap.

@Okie from Muskagee . . . actually, if you look at history, Thomas Jefferson was one of the first presidents to give money to Muslim countries for the sake of defense. If we didn’t give them money they attacked us. Same is true today. Not saying that it’s right, but it is what it is. So to answer your snide question: Yes, the founding fathers would have given money to Pakistan to protect the American people.

You are wrong. We do not give money to Pakistan to stop any attacks. That is 100% wrong. We do it as Bachmann said: “for intel” which goes back to the point why give a billion to a country who either are to stupid to not know OBL was in their biggest military city or were straight up lying to us.

Jefferson argued that paying tribute would encourage more attacks. He was right.

Regardless, Bachmann is stupid if she really wants to continue a billion dollars of aid to Pakistan for proven false intel.

Perry cutting off funding to Pakistan to show that we reward only allies that aid us and teach them not to bite the hand that feeds them, is a nice thought, but very short sighted. Bachmann is correct that we have to protect our intertests which is primarily our own safety. Pakistan may not be our allies but we can not allow radical zealots that want to kill us to get ahold of a nuke. She has that experiance on the national security councel to consider the ramifications from a fluff statement like Perry’s that we may want to hear.

I agree with Perry on this. It is time we stop buying honesty…countries should earn honesty on terror information and if they refuse to give it then all aid should be cut off and they should be dealt with accordingly. We can’t buy our way out of this war by paying those that prolong it for a price. I may add that we don’t need to cut military spending when we and Israel; also we and Mexico are under one of the worse threats of our time in our country either. We do need to find the waste and cut there, but keep our military the strongest and most productive force it has ever been. We need to stand with our troops and give them all they need to keep America the strongest and safest nation on the planet. If we can’t continue to keep our country safe from nuclear war, jobs won’t matter very much. Ron Paul is trapped in a utopian world and can’t see out of the box and Obama is thinking like Paul, but wants to bring it on with anger and chaos. Obama is only thinking of a select few and doesn’t seem to know who the real enemies are. Neither of the two understand that Jesus is the only one that will bring total peace to mankind. Perry is right about the terrorists coming in through Mexico, but most politicians are ignoring the facts, especially our commander in chief.

I almost don’t care that they have nukes; I’d say, if one pops off, then off the whole country and be done with it; price to pay for their folk electing idiots. But then again, I’m not potus so they better be glad. Michelle, though stating the real reason, still I have no choice but to disagree with her w.r.t. Pakistan.
