Bachmann Responds to Pawlenty Aide‘s ’Sex Appeal’ Comment

One day after top Tim Pawlenty aide Vin Weber cited Michele Bachmann’s “sex appeal” as a reason the congresswoman would be hard to beat in the Iowa caucus, Bachmann responded with a joke.

When asked about Weber’s comments in a radio interview Thursday, Bachmann said: “Well listen I’m 55 years old, I’ve given birth to five kids and I’ve raised 23 foster kids so that sounds like good news to me!”

Weber later apologized for his remarks, made during an interview with the Hill Wednesday:

“It’s going to be very hard to beat Michele in Iowa. Period,” Weber said. “She’s got hometown appeal, she’s got ideological appeal, and, I hate to say it, but she’s got a little sex appeal too.”

I received a Pawlenty Campaign call for money and I told the guy “NO”.

I told him while Pawlenty is better than RINO Romney by far, Pawlenty is a WIMP (like John McCain) and would be slaughtered by Obama]s scorch earth methods.

Pawlenty’s campaign then caller asked me who I wanted the nominee to be and I told him:

    1) anyone but Romney

    2) that I supported Cain, Bachman, Ron Paul, Gary Johnson and several others over over Pawlenty and Pawlenty’s campaign guy laughed. I got the last laugh though by NOT giving him money AND later Pawlenty proved my point when he wimped out on attacking RINO Romney at the primary.

A few days ago, I got a call from the Cain Campaign people and I gave $55 which is not much but I hope it helps him because he has a long road to go.

I would support Pawlenty ONLY IF he and Romney were the LAST TWO nominees standing. Why?

    1) NONE of Romney 5 sons served in the military and Romney said their patriotic duty was to get HIM into the Oval Office.

    2) Google “Mitt Romney Deceptions”.

    3) A vote for Mitt Romney, if he sadly got the nomination, would be like me voting to acquit Casey Anthony – both would make me sick.

Hard to believe how a country which is supposed to guarantee the freedom of speech can be so terrified of its useage and potential fallout.
The press will spin its web; face it. Bachmann is sharp, tough, well principled, an experienced public official, and yes….she has some SEX APPEAL. These traits and so many more make up this great candidate for president and all of the rest of us too.
If we can’t acknowledge that these things matter when we discriminate about those with whom we wish to associate, how can we ever understand what influences our day to day decisions let alone what makes us support or reject those people who wish to manage the business of our country.
Come on everyone, it’s time for the collective voting community to turn 18 and grow up.

Men need to quit apologizing for being men, and women need to quit trying to be men. It was a fine compliment, and she accepted it for what it was.

Why the taboo on the truth? Bachmann is a very elegant and beautiful woman. Who, at age 55, can say they look as good as she does? It was not disrespectful at all. It was quite complimentary. And those who cannot or refuse to admit it have their heads in the sand. No one apologizes for suggesting Romney has GQ looks. No one should hang their heads for saying Bachmann is good-looking either. It does not in any way take away from her message. It only points out the obvious. He apologized? For what?

I agree and the guy is apologizing for what? It did not appear as though Michele had a problem with it. Methinks the PC libs can’t stand the compliment. Or it could be that this could be the best the PC libs could come up with. That would be funny!!

Sex appeal was a huge contributor to Kennedy’s election, Bill Clinton’s election and even our beloved Ronnie! I agree with Michelle’s response because I, too, am 55 and had 5 children — enjoy/mock the compliment. T-Paw is a good looking guy, too, and a very nice, down home man. I have had the pleasure of having extended conversations with both of them because they were so approachable when I lived in MN. They both shoot from the heart and love this country. I do think Michelle is our most conservative choice, however.

Would love to see a women defeat the current excuse of a President. SLAM DUNK IN YOUR FACE. I don’t understand why sex appeal is taken as a negative. When JFK had sex appeal it wasn’t a negative. When Bill Clinton was said to have sex appeal it wasn’t a negative. Why do Republican woman have to unappealing to be considered legitimate candidates?

Nikki Haley, Sarah Palin, Kristi Noem, and Laura Ingram are all serious and they all have sex appeal. There is nothing wrong with saying so.

      @marybeth….
      I DO NOT agree.
There is no generic “conservative”, therefore stating that we are all the same would be the same as stating that all you libs believe global warming is NOT a hoax perpetrated by ALGORE and the UN.
      Oh wait……
      Let me try again.
It would be like stating that all libs believe that murdering children before they are born, is OK
      HMMMM, hold on.
      OK I got it…..
It is like saying that feminism is a POSITIVE influence on the family,
Alright…..being a conservative means that we have a constant set of values which we do not change like underwear, a value of life which we do not compromise.
      Carry on.
