Bachmann Talks 2012 Run, ‘Social Engineering,’ & Bypasses Obama Citizenship

Rep. Michele Bachmann may have not been willing to declare her presidential candidacy this morning, but she was willing to attack Michelle Obama’s new breastfeeding campaign as “social engineering.”
The darling of the tea party in Congress told ABC’s “Good Morning America” Thursday it‘s too early to say what move she’ll make regarding a 2012 presidential run, saying “I’m not there yet“ and she wants to help ”set the table” for debate in the 2012 White House sweepstakes.
But the Minnesota Republican did say she feels she has standing to talk to voters in Iowa, New Hampshire and other early primary states because she’s been “on the front lines” of policy debates.
Asked if she planned to seek the GOP presidential nomination, Bachmann said “I haven’t made a decision yet.” She said she wants to make sure that voters are heard on leading issues like taxes, spending and the federal debt.
But uncertainty about her presidential plans didn’t stop her from stumping, albeit slightly, about foreign policy and the tax code. It was the latter issue she said that has turned into “social engineering,” referring specifically to Michelle Obama’s new breastfeeding campaign and tax breaks that are now available for nursing supplies.
She also tip-toed around a question about whether she thinks Obama is a Christian and a U.S. Citizen. Instead of answering the question directly, she said we should trust what he says about those issues.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 2:26pmWhat exactly is “garbage” about what Politifact says? Please be specific. Obama‘s point was that Venezuela’s defense budget was a small fraction of ours. He was right, but off in his numbers, so he got a Mostly True. Bachmann said the administration promised something that it had not. It had made projections, saying that the projections could be off substantially. They then said they got it wrong.

We would all be a a lot better shape right now if we (the people, as is so popular now to say) would have called into question the facts around WMD’s, what the real motivation of going to war with Iraq was, where all the money was going in the Enron scandel, dozens of other scams being perpetrated on the American citizen.
At the time did you say George said it so it must be true, must be right? Where were you all then? Are you sure you’re not falling for the same thing? Really sure?

As for Moochelle, I don‘t recall her being on ’the ticket’ in 2008, so as far as I‘m concerned everything she pushes through should be met with ire because the people didn’t vote for her! She should stay home and not be seen nor heard from.

Many mothers don’t have the temperament and commitment to see this method through. It is outrageous for the government to be intruding into families in this manner. Women – look out. Sharia law and women’s loss of rights is around the corner. There are already divorce laws in place which reduce the rights of women and children. Many RINO politicians secretly support these practices. I have a gut feeling women will soon be forced out of the workplace and sent home to cover up with Burka’s. I believe being an at-home mom is best, but NOT because the government orders it. Creepy.

A champion of freedom, reminiscent of George Washington, will be necessary for the Republic to survive. At this time there’s no one on the national scene that fulfills these specifications. No RINOS allowed!
Two personalities that show promise are Herman Cain and Marco Rubio. Both of these men are excellent communicators but they have yet to earn extensive public support or demonstrate that they are truly “Radicals for Capitalism”. Only time will tell if either of these men has the philosophy and the charisma to save the Republic. Perhaps someone, unrecognized today, will rise to the occasion.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 11:14amI think you and whoever agrees with you need to rethink the concept of a government.
“It is just the beginning… much more to come with the Government pushing its way into EVERYTHING we do. Just watch….
EVERYTHING being the clean air you breath, water you drink, food you eat, fire and police departments that keep you safe, (future) hospitals that keep you healthy, roads you use, bridges you cross, abortion clinics raped girls can turn to, religious business that skirt taxes, and, unfortunately, a global empire that keeps the **** you buy cheap. It’s not pushing its way into our lives, it is our lives and the sooner we worry about purging it of special-interests, military industry, and partisan politics the better. Bachmann and her medicaid-ed tea party don’t understand either.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 11:54am@Huskervet I totally agree with you. I think we all need to be on the same page and get behind the stronger candidate (man or woman) with the better chance to get BHO out.

When we know he is not and is not.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 12:04pmThis woman has an agenda. End the obama agenda. Good for her – She seems to have the support of 80% of the American people. Is that really an agenda? Or a mandate?

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 12:54pmActually I believe that Bachmann is not very smart – or doesn’t have a grasp of the intrinsics of tax policies or foreign policy. She will only make a fool of herself if she runs but I don’t think she has enough snap to know when that happens. http://wp.me/sYLB7-why

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 1:41pmHealthy eating? Who has the right to determin what is healthy? I have experimented with many diets for the purpose of building the body. Different behaviors different genetics and different desired out come changes greatly what is quote unquote a good diet. At one point I had to add 3 big macs on top of already high calorie diet in order to maintain body weight. I also had to more than double salt and vitamin/mineral intake as well. The FDA would call those levels dangerous. If I had not my body fat would have gotten too low and id of suffered from lack of vitamins/minerals. Granted I was working out 6 hrs a day but the point is ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL!!! Government stay the hell out of my food!! Furthermore STOP TRYING TO PARENT OUR CHILDREN!! They have parents already.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 1:43pmGeorgey Porgey, Stop with the gotcha questions already. Why don‘t you ask her why Obama’s budget proposal is no more than a joke, or why the inflation rate is rising at a rapid pace, or why this president don’t seem to care about anything except getting elected in 2012????? I really have no respect for progressive hacks!

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 1:47pmWhy are all those who are opposed to Barack Obama’s administration AFRAID of the “natural citizen” issue ? Even Boehner and Glenn Beck seem to be okay with the fact that Obama may not be legally qualified to hold the office of the POTUS. What gives ? He‘s qualified or he’s not and it should be proven one way or the other beyond a shadow of a doubt to the American people. Why is this niot a seriuos matter that needs to be dealt with immediately ?

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 3:30pmMichelle, you are a great patriot. “White”teaparty is a troll and an Obot. I don‘t think that it’s wise to ignore the BC issue, but with trillions in deficits, it’s not THE most important issue. One more thing: I hope that Michelle doesn’t let them cut her hair any more. When it’s longer, it lays so much better, plus a quick braid always looks good. Bob

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 3:56pmWhy doesn’t her lack of intelligence bother people? Romney, Christie, Daniels…these are candidates with substance and intellect. Don’t conservatives want someone with a first-class head on their shoulders? Bachmann makes so many factually incorrect statements. It’s really kind of scary that she could be talked about as a serious candidate.
