Bachmann Virginia Campaign Office Shuts Down

Bachmann VA Campaign Office Shuts Down

With Herman Cain on the rise and still behind Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann’s once promising campaign for the Republican nomination for President in 2012 looks to be hitting the skids. POLITICO reports that Bachmann’s staff has had contractions in recent weeks and is now closing the campaign offices in Old Town, Virginia, according to sources. The campaign’s main office is now in Des Moines, IA, writes POLITICO:

“Bachmann spokeswoman Alice Stewart disputed that a headquarters had closed, saying, ‘Our headquarters has always been in Iowa. With so much of the staff on the road, the Old Town office was simply not convenient.’

In recent weeks, Bachmann’s campaign manager Ed Rollins and deputy campaign manager David Polyansky departed the campaign. As POLITICO first reported, her pollster Ed Goeas also recently left.”

Bachmann began a four-day bus trip Sunday in New Hampshire, the first time Bachmann has campaigned in the state since announcing her campaign in late June. Along with New Hampshire, Bachmann’s current team has described to POLITICO that Iowa is her must-win state.

No, sorry but when you hate you will be destroyed, It‘s god’s will. That’s why Perry is imploding, why Beck is relegated to the Internets, and why talk radio is losing ratings.

Cain seems to be the most conservative person on the field, well, next to Ron Paul, but I don‘t think he’ll (rp) ever get the nomination, especially with his views on Iran.

I don’t see how the 999 plan cannot be on top of local and state taxes unless he is going to make all states subjugate their taxes… That sounds bad to me. being on top of state taxes sounds doable and possible short term.
Unless the government figures out a way to raise those taxes later on, then it seems too much. But that seems unlikely. after all, most taxes stay the same as when they are put in place … DON’T THEY?

People still like the idea of hope and change. They just don’t want it to be a lie. Lots of interesting candidates. Some are speaking to “get that vote” while others are speaking their heartfelt convictions. Bachmann is one of the latter. Some perceive this as a weakness, others do not. In any case no one can question her honesty. She was out there risking her political career, raising consciousness about what is going on in Washington, working to change things from within. Obviously, some think that those who were comfortably sitting on the sidelines– doing little or nothing– somehow seem more “Presidential.” (an old tactic, tried and true) Whatever. In any case, she seems to be the only one who has really studied how to realistically dismantle Obamacare. Seems we have other things to talk about these days, but don’t kid yourselves, Obamacare WILL dictate the economy if it is not effectively taken care of.

I think THEBLAZE has tainted the actual contents of this story with their “shut down” title. Why?

I think if Cain wins we are going to have big problems when he is told his plan won’t work. He seems to be a little too touchy and dictating to me. I want to like him but he is arrogant and thinks it is his way or the highway. I still think Rick Perry is the most conservative but no one is really listening to him. He didn’t choose the perfect words in the last debate but he has explained himself since then. I say either Perry /Gingrich or Perry/Palin. Gingrich and his knowledge of our political system is a must to get this mess on the right track. Cain just wants to rule…that is the way I see it and there will be many that don’t vote for him and I doubt he will get a handful of blacks even though polls say different, Obama may beat him. Not everyone feels like some of those on the Cain train. You have way too many republicans and conservatives that thinks he has no real foreign policy experience,(which he doesn’t), and then you have the Paul supporters that will never let go of that dream, then the blacks and liberals, most choosing not to support him bc he has not tried to win any of them in their eyes…..so it may not even look that good for him down the road and we may put Obama back in the WH if he isn’t impeached. Cain has already made himself an enemy of the left like Obama did the right so the divide is still there. We need someone that can pull us together as a country. I think with Perry and Gingrich things would get much better and everyone would finally set

I like Perry/Gingrich 8 years ago. Things are far too bad for those people at this time, they do not have the willpower to do what it takes to bring this country back to the right track before it goes completely belly-up. I live Cain as a VP nod but the only person that I think could get this country back before it is all too late won’t support Israel, and that’s really bad in my opinion. Perry would continue to talk a good talk, but his heart isnt in the right place. We would slow our descent but our entitlements and debt would overtake us before too long, and everyone else looses to Obama.

You and I must be observing different worlds. As regards Perry being the most conservative candidate, seems that Santorum, Bachmann and Cain are more conservative than Perry. Your interest in a Perry/Gingrich ticket indicates to me that you are interested in “amnesty” (or whatever the term that is politically correct for rewarding people who have entered America illegally). Not that there is anything WRONG with being in favor of amnesty, just that it isn’t generally considered a “conservative” stance. More puzzling to me is your assessment of Herman Cain. I see nothing in his background or demeanor that indicates he will act as an autocrat. To the contrary, he admits when he is wrong, he tries what he thinks will work (after getting input from those with knowledge and whom he trusts) and (very much unlike Obumbler), he is open to new ideas will change tactics to get the job done. As for Cain having made enemies on the Left, I agree — any conservative black man (and even more so, a conservative black woman) in America will be detested by the Left. So what? Being detested by the likes of Michael Moore is a badge of honor in my book.

      to Pwatkins,

I am 50, serving my 23rd year in the US Army. What some people consider arrogance is merely strong leadership. Leadership is having a vision, a plan, knowing what has to be done and getting others to WANT to follow your plan. Notice I did not say..make them do what you want them to do. Sometimes in combat though, a leader has to make people do what needs to be done, getting someone to overcome their fear of death to do what has to be done is another type of leadership.

I personally like strong leaders, most Military Personnel do as well. One instinctively knows that a weak leader is going result in redundant effort or worse, get people killed. I run in to many Civilians who mistake arrogance (confidence in oneself which cannot be backed up) and Leadership (confidence in one’s ability as a result of past experience and results). Do not confuse the two.

I’ve seen some great people who I believed would be great representatives or presidents be less than they need to be in debates, which is a shame because we are not voting for the best debate participant, we’re voting for people who can run our government as intended and MB understands how the job is meant to be done, but she seems to be coached sometimes now and it doesn’t translate as well as her natural passionate, patriotic self. When she uses what seem to be predetermined strategies, they seem to come off as being politician more than passionate conservative. Cain is being himself and it is translating to support. I’m anxious to see how each of them do in future debates. Great people.

I explained I still stand behind her and hope that she’ll have a position in the new administration in 2013, but that I’m supporting Herman Cain and Rick Perry with my donations, though Herman Cain is now getting more of my donations and I will wait to see who will compliment him as a VP. Despite telling Bachmann‘s campaign this and that I wouldn’t be making any further donations to her campaign, they were still calling, so I guess they were having a hard time getting more funding.

The 9-9-9 plan would replace ALL current taxes, not be placed on top of them. It is a hybrid of the fair tax and the flat tax. If it puts the IRS and most of the lobbyists out of business, then it is worth very serious consideration. Imagine no more inheritance tax, which is systematically eliminating the family farms and businesses in America. The inheritance tax is indirectly responsible for making Warren Buffet uber rich. Do the research.

Paul shouldn’t be in the debates? He has consistently been polling 3rd or 4th in national polls. What an asinine comment. If you don’t consider Ron Paul a Republican because he believes in the Constitution TOO MUCH, then perhaps many of us should stop calling ourselves Republicans and start calling ourselves Libertarians. Republicans want to have a big tent, except when it involves a constitutional conservative. Can’t have that, but we need to allow liberals who call themselves Republicans to run our party. The Republican party was supposed to be a Libertarian party and now it has gone so far off the reservation that it is just Democrat-light. The only way for Libertarians to make a difference is to take back the Republican party, not try to run as 3rd party candidates. Libertarians today are doing what the Socialists started doing back in the late 1920′s/early 1930′s. After getting their butts kicked in 1928, they realized that the only way they could ever achieve power would be to infiltrate the major parties. Looks like they did a pretty good job, don’t ya think? Libertarians are doing the same thing today, only this time it is to reverse all the damage caused by the early 20th century progressives that infiltrated the Democrat and Republican parties and get us back to following our Constitution. Yeah, Ron Paul shouldn‘t be in the debate because he’s libertarian. What a fool you are.
