Bachmann Would ‘Extinguish’ Gay People, MSNBC Host Says

MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts said Friday Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann would “extinguish” gay people.

The Blaze previously reported on the controversy surrounding the clinic Bachmann co-owns with her husband amid reports that it uses “reparative therapy” techniques to “pray away the gay.“ Gay activists ”glittered” the clinic Thursday.

Speaking with GOProud Executive Director Jimmy LaSilvia, Roberts — who is openly gay — questioned the organization’s willingness to reach out to the Minnesota congresswoman to meet with her during the presidential campaign. GOProud is a gay Republican organization opposed to another term for President Barack Obama.

“But you will replace [Obama] with a person that would extinguish you,” Roberts said. “You‘re replacing him with a person who doesn’t believe you have a right in this country to get married, that believes you don’t even have a right in this country to be gay because she co-owns a clinic that will convert you.”

LaSilvia responded, “I think all the presidential candidates should hear our perspective as gay Americans who, like you, live their lives openly and honestly because we bring our unique perspective to our American experience.”

I am glad to hear there are conservative gays, since the libertarians are probably the most supportive of equal rights of any political self-identity, whereas the socialist democrats will continue to dangle carrots in front of their voters.

I figure, if they ever secure ‘equal rights’, the gays will no longer have a reason to vote for the socialist democrats. Suddenly, they will see they have higher disposable incomes than most, and the only people looking out for their finances are the conservatives.

Moronic Symbolism (MSNBC) over substance!!! Conservatives have no qualms with homosexuals; they are people too, business owners, workers, friends and family. However, we do have a problem when we are forced to live in close quarters with openly gay people (removal of DADT), or when the sanctity of marriage is bastardized by politicians for a vote.

      Hawk,
Bastardized – meaning: To lower in quality or character; debase. The appropriateness of the word speaks for itself. Considering and passing a law that allows homosexuals to engage in a marriage debases the purpose and scope of traditional marriage. Of course, we don’t have to worry about the other meaning with homosexuals, that being to prove one to be a child born out of wedlock; or do we???

I would like to know anyone’s secular reasons for opposing gay marriage. I hold marriage in the highest possible regard – higher than most of the straight people I know. I believe it to be one of the most precious of God’s gifts to us, and it is squandered by straight people every day. Straight people betray their vows and their spouses every day. Straight people are shacking up and making babies and refusing to get married but expect the world to treat them as if they’ve made a covenant. Straight people are intentionally bringing children into the world without an intact, committed mom and dad. To me, these are all degrading to marriage, and I would like to know what specifically about gay marriage would degrade the institution more than what straight people have done. This is a secular question, not a theological one. I’m very conservative, libertarian minded. If I could see the harm gay marriage does to the institution, I could be persuaded to be against it, but as yet no one as been able to tell me what gay marriage does to harm the institution. How does two men wanting to live for each other cause any damage, let alone more than straight people who marry frivilously and divorce, or not marry but expect others to treat them as if they are?

To Michele Bachmann – keep up the good fight! Don’t let the idiots get you down!!

      @b-rad
I hope I’m able to do this without going into a rant. Doubtful but I will try. You see it isn’t really about the institution of marriage per se. It is more about the institution of the family. Your points about straight vs gay in relation to the institution of marriage are indeed valid. Straight men and women betray their marriage daily. However the betrayal is not limited to straight couples. Your points about children are valid as well. My perspective about the “intentional” children without the committed mom and dad is a result of Government interference in the decisions of a man and woman whether or not to be married. The “nanny state” actually rewards the behavior. Married with children=fewer government benefits. By claiming not to know where the father is each additional child means additional benefits. This is intentional in order to destroy the family as we know it. A Progressives dream by the way. The gay marriage issue is another item in the Progressive grab bag to intentionally destroy the institution of Family. It is masqueraded as a “rights issue” but it is not. If the Progressives were really concerned only about rights then civil unions would resolve the issue. All the rights and benefits of a “married” couple but with a civil union they don’t get the recognition or validity they crave for their agenda to move forward. If you notice most of the arguments presented for or against gay marriage don’t talk about the detriment to the family.

Thanks FatPatriot for responding, but you still haven’t said what specifically about gay marriage harms the family or the institution of marriage. I really don’t care if they call it marriage, civil unions, or raspberry cream soda, as long as we are all afforded equal rights. Not special rights, equal rights.
You said the push for gays to be able to marry is a progressive agenda. I stand against the progressives no matter what side of the aisle they say they’re on. I don’t see what progressives gain, or more to the point, what liberty is lost if gay couples who want to give their lives to each other are afforded the ability to do so legally.
I’m a libertarian minded person, so I believe this is a state’s rights issue. Each state has the right to determine if they will allow this. The problem comes in when states don’t recognize legal contracts from other states. That being said, I still am not seeing what about gay marriage does any harm to the family unit or marriage in general. While our laws are based on Judao/Christian values, the law itself is secular. We cannot prohibit something strictly on a religious basis. Otherwise adultery, lying, coveting would all be illegal. Since there is no way to outlaw gay couples being in public, there is no difference in perception of children and families when they see a non married gay couple or a married one. I’m honestly trying to understand the objections to gay marriage. I just still don’t see the problem

What worries me about Bachmann is the voices she claims to hear. She openly and freely talks about how she didn’t want to marry Marcus, but god told her to and so she did. She didn’t want to be a lawyer but god told her to and so she did. “God told me personally to run” and she is. Am I the only person who finds this disturbing. These few things listed are minor. What if something serious should arise. What kind of crap could this country find itself in because she heard a voice telling her do something. This woman does not have my vote.

What you and other nonbelievers don’t think of or believe either is they hear “voices” too — they’re your thoughts. They come mostly from either satan or God — you have believed his lie about Jesus, etc. You guys think it’s just “your” thoughts but they’re not. So God talks to ppl the same way also – our thoughts – but also from the Bible – His Word (that’s one way to know because the principle will be biblical – New Testament). Sometimes he’ll speak through others to you. And yes, sometimes there‘s an audible voice but that’s seldom. Satan is the same. Both are spirit beings. To know the difference, you have to know the Scriptures, be in prayer to God/Jesus to stay in fellowship and also He gives the Believer the “gift” of discernment to “know” it’s Him who speaks….but yes, it’s not clear many times. And yes, Michele could be wrong in her “discernment”; however, which one would be the best to follow – satan or God? God wouldn’t ever tell her or anyone to do anything contrary to His Word and His Word is love and full of wisdom that is good & needed for all human beings….

You should honestly open a few books and read up on historical facts rather then spew lies and distorted truths.
Christians believe in Christ not other Christians. Those who hold the flag of Christ and command to kill in his name aren’t Christians.

Stalin murdered approx. 40,000,000 to 60,000,000
Hitler didn’t just kill Jews he murdered Christians and others as well, 9,000,000 to 10,000,000
      Mao killed 72,000,000
      Communist Cambodia, 2,000,000 to 3,000,000
These are just a few examples of a Godless States. Millions upon million upon millions were killed by atheistic and totalitarian states as a result of their atheistic ideology.
Infanticide before Christ. Jars of sacrificed infants laid at the altar of Baal and Ashtoreth. Abandonment was common place. It was common for infirm babies to be taken into the woods and left for the wild animals or starve to death on high walls. We’re not talking about fetuses in the womb.we’re talking about delivered living breathing babies. .

The entire inquisition was reported to have killed 30,000. Add the crusades and a few other wars in the name of Christ the number is about 17,000,000 This number is comprised over 20 centuries (Christ never told or alluded to killing) Like I said before. True Christians believe in Christ not other Christians. So before you start spewing your BS about Christians did this and that understand the Christian faith otherwise you simply sound like a fool.

Tombd62… I had an uncle who was gay. Also a Conservative, but he led his way of life quietly and never ever blatantly pronounced it to the world. His friends were the same. For years we as American’s for the most part had accepted gays, as long as they did not push their lifestyle onto us. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my uncle.. I did not agree with his lifestyle, but I still accepted him for who he was. In the last few years gays have increasingly have shoved their agenda down the throats of us all. They called it coming out of the closet.. and every year it has become worse and worse. The few gays I have known, weren’t born that way, they were molested by some dirty vile men and their identity was crippled. In any case it is not right for gays to cram their lifestyles down our throats. I wish you well.

Abbygirl1994…first, thanks for your response. Secondly, the one and only reason I even mention I am gay is because it is relevant to this conversation. With that being said, when you mention “In the last few years gays have increasingly have shoved their agenda down the throats of us all,” I am in total 100% agreement. I am totally opposed to the “in your face” style of the gay movement. Who in their right mind even thinks acting that way in public is anywhere near acceptable—gay or not. It’s stupid and childish….honestly, my revealing I am gay is hard for me because I DO NOT want people thinking I engage in any of that. For me, its more of a “how I was created is no more of your business than your sexuality is mine, but in case you do find out, please realize I am still the person I was.” I boycott Gay Pride Month because of exactly the same reasons you mentioned. I guarantee you I’d much more enjoy having coffee and conversation with you than I ever will being among a bunch of other gays.

      @TOM62
You guys would get more respect if the terrorism stopped with groups like BashBack, with glittering, etc. They are causing a lot of anger in the straight community. Were are all of the peaceful gays? Why is it we only hear from the militant in your face gays? How a person is born or how they choose their sexual orientation is not important to many of us. Be who you are, but don’t expect people with different values to accept the openly gay in your face F*** Y** lifestyle. I could no more understand homosexuality than you could understand heterosexuality. With that said, I do not push my lifestyle onto other people and do not accept that from them.

So next time you want to stand tall and proud to be liberal, gay and stand with Darwin and Evolution, remember, Darwin is the Margaret Sanger of Gays elimination….

      A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men.
      B. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women.
      C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies.
      D. In three generations, there will be no Democrats.

Don’t you just love those on the left, who proclaim themselves as protectors of the gay community?
Yet, if they wish to discredit someone they disagree with who is a closet gay, they are the first ones to open the closet door to discredit him or her. On the other hand if that person is not gay, they will go
so far to publicly question his or her sexuality, and imply they are gay. This a tactic employed by the left goes back to the days of J. Edgar Hoover. The accuseed him of being a gay cross dresser, because he was a threat to them, because he knew there were Communists in the State Department
and Communists who had access to FDR. Their play book never changes.

There are plenty of very intelligent & insightful people around here…. Maybe someone can help me understand why the sexual preference of gay people is always front and center in so many of them? As far as I am aware I do not belong to a Heterosexual Tea Party or a Heterosexual Republican Group. I must admit that at one time I talked a great deal about sex; it’s really about the only thing I thought or talked about in fact. Of course that was pretty much from 9th to 12th grade. I then began to grow up.

Protected Groups are also a load of you know what. Discrimination and bullying are bad. They are also a fact of life. We are one groups “rights” or feelings MORE important than another group’s?

I would prefer we were just all Americans without all of the labels and categories. Stop whinning and grow up for Pete’s sake!

I can only speak for myself on this one, but being gay is just a small part of who I am, but it can be a bit frustrating when people assume I am not gay and ask me if I am married or have ever been married, etc, etc. But then again, I can’t really blame them for not noticing I am gay….I gave up glitter in elementary school.

First and foremost, I am not a supporter of homosexuality preferences. However, gays just like straights have a natural right to choose whatever kind of lifestyle they desire. Bachman’s views should be probed when it comes to equal rights for gays. Since MSNBC just so outwardly approves of slamming right wingers, why not question the Planned Parenthood’s abortion funding from the federal government. That same money belongs to the taxpayers (WE THE PEOPLE). Planned Parenthood, if you want abortions fine, do it with private money. This is a same organization founded by a woman who favored eugenics and expressed racist remarks for African-Americans. Her name: Margaret Sanger.

With in Two years of leaving office Michelle will separate, of course she will have to go back to work, but it will be better than living with his self-absorbed psychosis.
