Bad Kitty! Cincinnati Bearcat Mascot Detained in Snowball Incident

CINCINNATI (AP) — Cincinnati’s Bearcat mascot was cited for disorderly conduct after a snowball-throwing incident in the stands during a game against Pittsburgh.

Heavy snow covered the field and stands for the Big East game on Saturday afternoon. When Pitt’s Dion Lewis scored the second of his three touchdowns in the half, students pelted him with snowballs and were told to stop.

A school spokesman says the mascot also was told to stop throwing snowballs in the stands and pushed a security guard, knocking both of them to the ground. The mascot was detained and cited. He was not identified.

A backup mascot took his place at halftime.

this is ridiculous. he’s not throwing snowballs at the crowd, not with those big fat mascot fingers his costume hands have. he’s sort of lobbing them and they fall on the crowd. he’s being pelted with snowballs but his costume protects him from any harm.

come on. this is a nonevent! just some silliness! security over reacted, those that reported the story overreacted and many here have too.

this was just some wacky fun that some saw as violence by a masked assailant.

We’ve got illegals crossing the border at record numbers
Also, TSA agents groping little children and grandmothers
A president that is more in tuned to playing B-ball with his bros
And a mascot is the one cited for throwing a snowball……….something is wrong with this picture.

Love the snowball fight, these fans are much tamer than their Cleveland counterparts, booing Lebron James because he wanted to play somewhere else. Steelers Fans are the best in the nation, but the Philly fans are pretty good too, except for when they booed Santa Claus.

the whole thing is silly and more over reaction by some ppl. the mascot is not really THROWING the snowballs… he was big, thick mascot fingers on those gloves he’s wearing. he just sort of lobs them up and they fall down. He’s being hit by some thrown hard by the fans but his costume protects him from any harm.

this is a nonevent! some goofy fun. security overreacted, as does/did anyone who sees a problem here.

…move along. wacky fun happening here.

Where’s Oakland subway cop Mehserle when you need him? Those cops were way too lenient on the guy. That mascot deserved a good tasering at the least and if he was throwing ice balls he deserved some hot lead, delivered from the barrel of a firearm into his skull. Also whomever was taking those pictures should be charged with a felony, interferring with an officer doing his duty.

That’s why if I watch a game it is on my television. Then I can throw all the snowballs I want. But since I live in an area where there is very little snow, I most of the time have to settle for mud balls. But the last time I threw one at the television I broke it. So I quit doing that and just quit watching the games. Just kidding. I quit watching sports when they started paying over a million a season. Nobody is worth that much. If they make that much they had best make a touchdown or a home run every time.

Aggravated assault using frozen precipitation……what is this world coming to?…..But remember, snowballs could be considered a “gateway weapon”…..first someone starts throwing them at another person….then he/she moves on to rocks……guns…….missles….and finally nuclear weapons……Stop these crazy people before they bring about the end of the world! I say charge them with “attempted fun”…..lock them up and throw away the key….can’t have these sorts of sheanigans taking place…..

      Right here!

God I can just see what someone will make a new film series about this of – Wild cats out of control!
      Starting with the mascot series!

The mascot had been told not to toss snowballs back at the fans and for shoving the security about; so in this case, he choose not to do as directed, and a judge will decide what happens next.

As for the future coming, look at the HS football player who got flagged for thanking God in the play. Next to come will be jailtime for any type of infractions made by ANYONE playing any kind of sports or activities…think on it, if they are making it a fed offense for a school to hold a brownie bake sale for fundraising what is to stop them from doing that as well…

OK, if everyone was playing snowball fine, I however have been hit in the side of the face by a snowball when I wasn’t expecting it and it really hurt. So yes he should have been told to stop, no he should not be arrested.

      Arrested for throwing snowball…?

Seem to me the officer had a flash back * losing end of a snowball fight ” having never forgot it. Saw his chance to get even and took it. Its snow for God’s sake, we are live in a world woosies you’re a cop grow a pair. As for the security guards a bunch frustrated wannabes asking them to grow a pair would be pointless.
