Want to See a $376,000 Lamborghini Burn to the Ground During a Test Drive?

A black Lamborghini Aventador seems to have spontaneously combusted in the middle of a test drive yesterday in Southern California.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, and is now being referred to as the mysterious “Aventador guy” after he calmly posed for a picture near the $376,000 pile of melted metal.
While original speculation dubbed him some sort of “Internet millionaire,” new reports indicate he was simply test driving the car from the dealership when the explosion occurred (though he’s clearly no stranger to fancy cars).
Here’s some video of the wreckage, before the flames were put out (Warning: Strong Language):
Lamborghini is investigating why the explosion occurred.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 10:04amUnfortunately this is not uncommon for Mary’s little lambo.
Mary had a little Lambo
its paint was white as snow
And everywhere that Mary went
the cops, fire and EMS were sure to show.
The last time I watched on of these burn was up close and personal. If you have ever driven one or even walked behind one just after it has been running the heat from the rear engine compartment vents is unbearable at about 2 to 3 feet away.
Maybe Lamborghini should stick to building farm equipment since they seem to do that quite well. I myself am a big fan of John Deere but I would be very hesitant to buy a John Deere supercar.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 10:23amBeingThere,
You sound jealous. See, in America, we have the FREEDOM to buy whatever we want, provided we can afford it. (At least for now. If Obama gets re-elected, I can see the govt telling all of us what kind of car we will be mandated to buy.) Just because YOU would never buy a car like that doesn‘t mean that someone else wouldn’t. That doesn’t make them dumb, that makes you a jealous fool.
It’s all relative. If you only make $50,000 a year, you couldn never fathom spending $375,000 on a car. But if you made $50,000,000 a year, what’s the big deal? Get over yourself.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 6:52amI once witnessed a similar event on the interstate highway nearby the Bonneville Salt Flats near the Utah/Nevada border. It was a motor home. I could hardly believe my eyes. There was literally nothing left but the axles of the wheels and a small amount of black smouldering rubble, and it was right in the middle of the freeway.
Report Post »I learned in the news the following day that an elderly couple was incinerated in that motor home. Very tragic. Apparently, such things happen more frequently than we would like to think.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 1:24amok – we have to video of someting burning.
Can’t tell what it is but I figure – yes- it is a Lamborghini.
Funny but the whole time I’m just thinking
a – who cares? Just another car burning on the highway. We’ve all passed them.
b – where did all these people come from – the little rubber neckers with the litttle cellphones – did they really STOP while driving by just to record this? Don’t they have something to do?
and c – my LAST one? – some comment made by one of the onlookers… Are we are talking about a bunch of rich daddy”s boys here running around in a gang or California movie star kids? You know – from some MTV reality show. Either way – I pretty much can’t relate to anyone who would stop to record this mundane event.
Are their lives really that boring?
Hmmm.
Report Post »OK.
My bad. Maybe I‘m just a hater because I worked for years for my money and don’t give 2 squirts about a Lambo, while they nonchalanty talk about their LAST Lambos.
Not the type of people I would ever want to hang out with or much less BE.

Posted on April 16, 2012 at 3:24amAsk yourself what is more boring…
Watching a “supercar” burn to the ground
OR
commenting about a youtube video…
These vehicles are engineering masterpieces. I understand that cars may not interest you however to your dismissal of the fact that many people are interested in them, fanatical even, seems silly. Especially since you took the time to log in and comment about how you don’t care.
