The Saudi official says the shooting took place on Tuesday when a person from the crowd of protesters shot at the Saudi troops. The official says the victim, Ahmed al-Raddadi, was a sergeant in the Saudi military. No other details were immediately available.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
A 1,000-strong force from Saudi Arabia and other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council arrived in Bahrain on Monday.

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 12:32pmThe issue I have is the left blindly portraying the unrest in the Middle East as a positive turn of events, which has yet to be determined. The fact that this could lead to more radical, fundamentalist forms of islamic governments in this area should not be overlooked. Apologist for the islamic religion need to educate themselves on the true nature of their belief structure. To say that there are “good” and “bad” muslims us to accept what those same muslims tell us is true. People need to find out on their own what these “moderate” muslims are actually saying to EACH OTHER, rather than what they are spoon feeding the “Western” people. There is no peace in islam. There is no co-existing in islam. Those two concepts are missing from their belief structure. Read Walid Shobat, or Joel Richardson, and take a look at what is actually happening. When imam’s in the United States are bent on passing sharia law here in the US, and make claims that having the islamic flag will fly from the White House is one of their goals, we need to stand up and take notice. This is a religion that has intolerance as it’s root belief. One of the fundamental cornerstones of islam is the constant and continuing conversion of ALL PEOPLE to their religion, by WHATEVER MEANS AVAILABLE. Terror, murder, duplicity, and deceit are historical tools in their waging of jihad. The belief that it is tolerable to make a treaty of convenience until you are strong enough to win by force is a methodology used by Mohammad himself, and all muslims are exhorted to follow his example. Knowing this, we are allowing ourselves to be lulled to sleep by an enemy that will deny his faith if it will allow him to place his dagger more squarely in our backs. WAKE UP! The unrest in the Middle East is the first step toward a restored Caliphate that will use whatever means possible to disrupt and destroy human rights.

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 11:12amI don’t think this will affect Saudi at all and I think it will stabilize Bahrain. You can bet your last dollar as worthless as it is Mobarak wishes he would have done the same. Gahdafi set the new standard on how to deal with protesters right or wrong he did it. Nobody and I mean nobody will condem Bahrain or Saudi if they keep up with these tactics.

Like dominoes, they all fall until Saudi Arabia goes. Then it’s a global economic collapse as oil dries up and the news from Japan worsens.

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 1:39pmI doubt the base would need/have to be abandoned. By and large, neither the Shia or Sunni residents of Bahrain have any issue with the Navy, westerners or the US. We’ve been working and living in their neighborhoods for decades and know each other pretty well.

And two: because the Fifth fleet is headquartered in Bahrain, and a sudden influx of gun wielding men in a uniform not from the nation in which your stationed just might result in a knee jerk tomahawk being fired off, ya see?
In a military world, it is common courtesy and common practice for ally states to notify each other about troop activities that impact upon them.

Have you ever heard of the Arab League?

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 11:19amCoster….CentCom is located in Tampa FL, not Bahrain. The US 5th Fleet’s base is in Bahrain. Bahrain is NOT US controled so if they want to bring troops in there that is their business. It would be nice to know but to say they are bound by a treaty to tell the US what they do in their own borders???? What treaty is that? Really, show me a treaty, reference something that shows it. That is THEIR country, not ours and we follow THEIR rules, not our arrogant musings. We are more than welcome to pack it all up and go hang out somewhere else if we want to. Also, If we really want to have a say so, we should just have taken over the whole damn country and enforce what we want, otherwise, we have no say in what they do in THEIR own lands. See, that is why muslims hate the US….arrogance like you espouse makes it only worse. We need to back off and let them do what they want, it is not our place to tell them or expect them to tell us what they do…or like I stated before, take over the island and make it a US territory.

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 2:26pmArrogance. arrogance, point out courtesy in the treaty ….blah blah blah.
This is what is truly wrong with the world…lack of courtesy, and understanding of it.
Courtesy is not printed, if it were then it would just be another rule in the treaty. Let me ask you…have you ever got the the Birthday card sent to you from the car dealership that you purchased your car from. That is a courtesy, find in your contract where they say we will send you a birthday card every year til you are paid off…..You will not find courtesy printed on paper.
This is why a lot of Americans have no honor, we have been taught that we do not have to do anything that is not written down in black and white.
P.S. this comment is about courtesy in response to those who want it pointed out in the treaty, not the story.

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 7:22pmLet me try some common sense. You’re Bahrain. The U.S. 5th Fleet, with enough firepower to make you disappear, is based in your country. Do you think it might be wise to say to the 5th Fleet, “Oh, by the way, if about 1000 armed troops from another country suddenly show up and start playing enforcer, it’s ok, they’re with me”? Or would choose option # 2 which is to not tell the 5th Fleet because it’s none of their business, and just hope they’ll instinctively know that these 1000 armed troops have suddenly showed up for reasons that have nothing to do with the 5th Fleet?

Posted on March 15, 2011 at 10:35amProphetic Tipping Point: The condition of the world relating to Israel
Whether you believe in a “spiritual” Israel or that Israel is certainly a physical place that is home to the Jewish people, you cannot deny that those who are pressuring Israel to give up its traditional Biblical lands to Arabs led by former and current Islamic terrorists are suffering tremendous political upheaval, natural disasters and financial catastrophes. These calamities are visible all around the world right now, bringing to mind the Zechariah 12:3 prophecy by the Lord: “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
The Middle East is on fire. A Palestinian terrorist brutally murdered an entire Israeli family. The once stable kingdom of Saudi Arabia is experiencing unrest. Saudi and United Arab Emirate troops have been sent to the tiny country of Bahrain to quell protests there. Of course, there is Egypt and any number of other Arab/Islamic countries facing civil unrest that could lead to war. Libya is fully engaged in a civil war. In most all these cases, the popular cry from the people is freedom, but in reality, they are trading one type of tyranny for another. The Muslim Brotherhood, which was in Iran recently meeting with the Ayatollah there, waits in the wings to establish an Islamic Sharia government in most of these places.
Western nations face financial collapse. The European Union has had to take aggressive measures to fend off the actual bankruptcy of Greece, and many of the Euro-nations are experiencing tremendous financial and weather-related challenges. The United States is running record deficits, record debt, experiencing political unrest, is at war with Islam, and is still reeling from many natural disasters. Russia faces economic and political strife as well as Islamic terrorism. China is also experiencing political unrest, a great social class disparity in wages, and inflation–signs of things to come. And Japan, woe is Japan that has been pummeled with an earthquake, a tsunami and thousands of deaths.
All these countries have at least one thing in common: They have publicly and privately pressured Israel to give up its land for peace. For many years nothing seemed to be apparent that would lead the “world” to believe that there were curses on those who came against Israel. Those who know the scriptures could see it, but it still remains veiled to the world. The turmoil throughout the world–kingdom against kingdom, wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, pestilences and famines–has seemed to converge at a tipping point. Ahead we will either see the tide of events ebb as do birth pangs, or we will see them escalate. If they continue to escalate, first, be not troubled, but also know these are the true beginning of sorrows.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

I agree with most of the sentiments you or Bill expressed. However, I am not sure about how Japan has been any kind of allie against Israel. New Zealand? Many things will come into the world signaling the end times but no nation will be spared from these things and in fact Jesus says that if those days were not cut short NO ONE would survive. Nations that take up the sword against Israel shall surely be cut to pieces. Live by the Sword, die by the Sword. Someone has to wield the “Sword” that kills those who live by “IT”. Think about it!! I do not LIVE BY the Sword but I will use it to defend against EVIL. YES, I will judge what is evil and it will not prevail against me and mine, you’ll just have to trust me on that one.
