‘Barack-oli’: See Michelle Obama‘s Attempt at Comedy While Delivering Letterman’s Top 10 List

First Lady Michelle Obama made yet another late-night appearance on Tuesday evening, where she presented David Letterman’s Top 10 list.
Obama, who is on a publicity tour to promote her new book, “American Grown: The Story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Gardens Across America,“ delved into the ”Fun Facts of Gardening.”
Rather than appearing in-studio, Obama spoke from the White House Map Room. Considering the comedic nature of the show — and the Top 10 list, itself — Obama’s list was, of course, crafted to create laughs. From quips about the Supreme Court ruling on “tomato” versus “tomahto” to mentions of growing “Barack-oli,” Obama certainly can’t be faulted for trying.
Here’s the complete gardening list, as she presented it on “Late Night”:
No. 10: Gardening was invented in 1822 by Albert Gardener.
No. 9: Plant avocados, tomatoes, onions and cilantro together and grow a guacamole tree.
No. 8: Eggplants were originally cultivated for use as doorstops.
No. 7: In his lifetime, the average American will eat half a radish.
No. 6: The largest zucchini ever grown contained a Starbucks.
No. 5: Later this year the Supreme Court will finally rule on “tomato” vs. “tomahto.”
No. 4: If you have an actual green thumb, it might be scurvy.
No. 3: Lettuce is 96 percent water and 4 percent lettuce.
No. 2: The White House tool shed contains shovels, trowels and Weed Whacker One.
No. 1: “With enough care and effort you can grow your own Barack-oli.”

It was an insight into the contempt and distain that the O blame’as, and I might add, the liberal letterman and others have for this part of the check and balance system of Our Republic.
