Barack vs. Barack: Group Uses President’s Words Against Him in Viral Obamacare Video

As protesters rally outside the Supreme Court while justices listen to high-toned arguments on the constitutionality of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law, one group is hoping the president’s own words will help the case against the law. At least his words before he was president.
The central dispute over the law is a provision that requires individuals to have health insurance by 2014 or pay a penalty. American Crossroads, a 527 organization advised by Karl Rove, has released a new video showing that Barack Obama himself has not always supported the individual mandate at the center of his controversial health care reform plan:
This comes as former DNC Chairman Howard Dean appeared on CBS Monday morning where he made the claim some liberals might find stunning: he admitted he thinks the Supreme Court will likely declare the individual mandate unconstitutional. Dean went on to explain that he believes the court will strike down the mandate, not the entire law, but that the law can still be successful without the mandate:

everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can’t be
straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along.
He has a heavy hand and wants to level the playing field with income
redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would
like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada .
His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION and
NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn’t care about
the auto or financial services industries but got them as an early
bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle
growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is
his healthcare program because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000
people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go
through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive
RATIONING of services, like in Canada .. God forbid!”

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 3:16pmEveryone knows there is corruption in DC. That’s a given. The best way for the corruption to get under control or eliminated all together are listed below according to my belief:
Congress is to be part time.
Congress shall not receive any pay or benefits.
There shall be no party system. People will have to expose themselves for who they are rather than hide behind a letter.
Lobbying shall be made illegal.
The President and VP shall receive average American Salaries.
So here are the main things that I believe will get the corruption out of the beltway. Making politics a place that is not coveted will do the trick. I believe the majority of Congress is there for the money and power. Take the money out of politics and you take the corruption out of Washington.
This was a big debate in the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia when the Constitution was being written and as we can see today, is the way it should have been done.
Unfortunately this will not be done.

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 3:54pmGood points you make, most of which I agree with. If I might add one, I would change the rules that require being Physically on the floor of the House or Senate in order to cast a vote. I would make it possible, in fact desirable for the Congress person to vote from their home district in full view and witnessed by the voters who will be subject to the Consequences of that vote.
Report Post »TheBurningTruth
Posted on March 26, 2012 at 4:08pmYour “solutions” are pretty simplistic. For instance:
Part-time Congress: what you’re trying to do is limit how much Congress can “f-up” things. Making them part-time just means they’ll rush through the same bills in a shorter time with more hidden pork and special hand-outs. Try defining what Congress can and can’t do instead. Of course, that’s exactly what the Constitution did and look how the vermin try to change / ignore it at every turn.
No Pay/Benefits. Talk about a way to ensure only very wealthy power-hungry people are in Congress. Any normal person would reject being in Congress because they still have to pay for their family. In the end, the very wealthy still get control.
No Party System. You lay the blame for today’s mess at the feet of the political parties. The reason we’re here is because the country is balanced between “takers” and “makers” which is another way of saying the popularity of the Socialist agenda (nothing is my fault and I deserve whatever I want without working for it) is battling the Conservative agenda (everything is personal responsibility and you either work for it or do without). We’re living though an epochal change in our country. Getting rid of parties won’t change that.
Lobbying made illegal. By definition that means that YOU and I can’t send a letter to our representative with what WE think is the right thing to do. That is lobbying, just on a smaller scale.
Report Post »Mike N
Posted on March 26, 2012 at 6:08pm.
I’ve said it before, and will say it again . . . make our representatives work for, spend most of their time in, and be paid by the states . . . that will make them more accountable to us, less accessible to the lobbyists, and prevent them from voting on their own pay and benefits.
That WILL fix our problem.

Posted on March 26, 2012 at 2:59pmHealthcare insurance is an individual matter. It isn’t an employer matter. It isn’t a government matter. It’s no different than auto insurance, liability insurance, fire insurance, or any other type of insurance. Insurance is so expensive BECAUSE the government is involved. Special interests define the benefit, charge whatever they want and there is no one in the process working for the patient. As with every other activity, as long as the government is in control it willl be highly regulated but poorly supervised; subjected to frequent arbitrary changes; non responsive to patients or providers; slow to adopt better technologies; and far too expensive. We only have to look to RomneyCare for verification.
Is there a single government controlled process that doesn’t meet this criteria?
Why do people want to destroy healthcare? Get government out of the entire healthcare supply channel!

Power corrupts. Out of the four republican candidates – two have supported the individual mandate (newt and romney) while another one was somewhere in between (santorum). Posted on March 26, 2012 at 2:48pmI thought this was interesting: “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” ~Marcus Tullius Cicero
