Barbara Walters Defends Rick Santorum’s Views on Feminism, Joy Behar Calls Him a ‘Coward’

Joy Behar and Barbara Walters Talk About Rick Santorum on The ViewDuring the last week, GOP candidate Rick Santorum has been making the media rounds, defending his views on modern feminism. While many have come down hard on the former Pennsylvania senator, Santorum may have found support in the most unlikely of places: The View.

Or, at least one of the show’s hosts, Barbara Walters.

During Monday’s episode of the morning talk program, Walters said:

I very rarely take a political position because I work for ABC News, these are people I talk to, and so on. So there are things about Rick Santorum that I do not agree with. But I do feel that there was a time – and, you know, I’ve worked all my life. Not when I was four and five, but after that – that there was a time when feminists made the woman who stayed home and had children feel inferior. I think we are finally changing so that we realize younger ones, you can make a choice. So I don’t think that what he said is so terribly off the point. He probably will be surprised that I am on that side and I know [Joy] disagrees with me.

For her part, however, co-host Joy Behar was not as gracious. Mediaite brings us the video clip:

There is nothing brave about preaching to the choir like Behar does, spitting her anti right venom to a completely Libral audience. She is the Cow. I mean Coward . Rick stands up for what he believes regardless of his audience, thats actually brave. Hey Joy.. how did that cnn show go for you? Face it, ur a dime a dozen.. and thats a compliment. I often think of you in bed…. it helps prolong love making. Can I say that on the blaze? I think its ok?

If you want to turn this God forsaken country around and save the Republic that is exactly what you better here come the inauguration.
Any other person being sworn in will mean the end of the Republic as we know it.

Ronald Reagan a non progressive, non establishment, real American warned us that Freedom was only one generation away from falling into the hands of the enemy. If we do not stop it now, it will be too late in four more years to stop the progressive socialist from dismantling our Republic and our Constitution.

This election is about saving our country, the only candidate that will be able to beat King Hussein and do this is Rick Santorum.

@MS Patriot. I admire your enthusiasm, but freedom for me doesn’t include the Patriot Act. If Santorum would just listen to people disgusted about this, he’d be someone I could get behind. The 4th amendment wasn’t his to vote away. He’s so anti-libertarian, that he doesn‘t seem to realize this really isn’t (or at least shouldn’t be) a libertarian only issue.

The key words in Santorum’s statement are “there was a time when …”

Joy is such a hypocrite. If the same words came out of Obama’s mouth instead of Santorum she would be hailing them as words from a saint. It must be nice to be paid to sit on your fat behind and spew toxic bigoted opinions every day. (On second thought … I’d want to hang myself if I were as toxic as she.)

The View is a joke. But…

Now that Santorum is becoming frontrunner, now his history is finally being vetted. Here are some of the things he needs to account for:

    1. Employer mandate health care.
    2. 6 times raising minimum wage and 5 times raising debt ceiling.
    3. Dozens of big government bills voted for.
    4. Support for Sotomayor on to the circuit court.
    5. Tipping off Ensign on his affair coming out.
    6. Earmark king…
    7. Against term limits…
    8. Insider trading…
    9. Worked for a lobby group for energy company.
    10. Endorsing Arlen Specter.
    11. Excessive spending
    12. Stopping Bush’s defunding/privatization of Amtrak.
    13. Negative campaigning and then complaining about Gingrich and Romney

He answered a few of these over the weekend ( http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2012/feb/santorum_sotomayor_amtrak.html ) but now he needs to answer the rest and all the other things that will come out before the next race, this is the only way he can win, if he gets these out of the way.

Romney, Gingrich, Perry, Cain (though his ‘vetting’ was probably false accusations) had to do this, now he has to. This is the importance of vetting all of our candidates.

No, this coming from a Tea Partier that wants all of our candidates vetted. We don’t want our candidate whoever it is to have information that comes out in November. We need everything on the table, this is why the long prolonged process is good for any candidate. Santorum has never been vetted and now he will be, this is an important step, no matter the candidate. A lot was found out about Gingrich, Romney, Perry, Bachmann, and now it is Santorum’s turn. Frontrunner status always clean out our candidates’ closets. We have to destroy Obama in November, sending a message to those in DC and the DNC.

PS: Santorum has always been my second choice, since Cain left, so I am sincere about vetting all of our candidates.

I only need to know one thing. The Evangelicals in Texas have placed their support behind a Catholic from Pennsylvania. Either they reached out to him, or he reached out to them, either way it doesn’t matter. What matters is the Christian Right is placing it’s support behind the candidate they will mobilize to vote for.
Most believe the moderate independents make or break an election, the truth is when you have moderates like Romney and McCain running as pseudo conservatives the Christian Right stays home. They will not get out and vote for a candidate they don’t believe represents their beliefs.
The Republicans will vote for a conservative before they will vote for King Hussein. The independents are truly tired of King Hussein and his attacks on the Constitution and our freedoms.
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to turn our country around. Drill for oil, tax imports, get rid of the EPA, manufacture at home, close the border and figure out a plan to get rid of the illegals that don’t deserve to be here and keep the ones that would have been allowed to come anyway. Put up the border and then drop the criminals back over in Mexico and tell them if you want what we have, get rid of the drug cartels. Oh, one more thing. Supply those criminals with guns and ammunition to fight the cartels. I enjoy my freedom, I will fight for my children to have the same freedoms.

You conveniently left out Rick’s biggest fault, but Romney is also fine with it, so we’re just supposed to dismiss it? I guess that I’m not going to convince anyone here that politicians who support the legislation that destroyed our civil liberties should be our top priority. Here, I’m thinking it would be an instant disqualifier to vote for someone to swear to uphold the constitution when they have no intention of doing so.

Of course I’m a Conservative and follow that. Takes more “courage” to speak up and defend Conservative views in this day and age….there was a time it wasn’t like that. But, hopefully I think the horrible femi-Nazi stuff is dying as these women from the 60′s age and new ones coming up — and rejecting it.

I think that is because a lot of today’s moms were raised under feminism. We were the “latchkey kids” who raised ourselves while mom was bringing home the bacon and cooking it, too. We want better for our kids. Of course there are dreams I want to pursue and as much as I love my children, staying home with them can be very lonely and thankless. However, I only get one chance to raise them. One chance to develop their character. One chance to give them a secure foundation to become happy, productive godly adults.

Israel tried it once, and found that it actually caused more problems than it solved. In combat, the men tended to be more concerned about the safety of their female counterparts and took more hits because of it.
I would not want to be fighting to the death, and also be concerned about the gal I know (and possible am dating) in the next foxhole over….splitting one’s concentration in that situation gets a guy killed!

I agree with Rick. The family is under attack – and has been for years.

It is a woman’s choice whether to work outside the home or not.

The choice to stay home and raise a family is belittled by progressives.

Most Christian religions recognize that the mother is by design the nurturer of the family.

This is not a commandment, in my eyes, just a strong suggestion.

Many women are forced to work outside the home due to illness, divorce, or desire. They are not to be shunned.

However, we must recognize that the most important role a woman can play is the raising and nurturing of children, and we need to congratulate those who make that choice.

Womanhood should be celebrated!! None of us would be here if it were not for our mothers.

BROTHER_ED, Love your comment. Unfortunately women in the work place has disrupted the family unit. Allot of women are away from their children and the kids are with day-care workers, sitters etc. Many children have become latch key kids. Allot of families are broken in todays society. With the economy as it is and the need for both father and mother working it’s often the children that suffer. So if a woman is fortunate enough to stay home with her children she should be recognized equally to the working moms. I wish all mothers had that luxuary and maybe our kids today would see things in a different perspective. Maybe they would not be as spoiled as they have become. Parents tend to overcompensate if they have feelings of guilt for the time missed with their kids. Call me old fashioned but I look at the kids today and I worry whether they have the family values needed to become good parents and citizens. Not all kids of course but a frightening percentage. It just seems the more people earn the more they become addicted to lifestyles that they really can’t afford and end up overwhelmed in debt. My dad paid for everything in cash and would only purchase things made in this country. He worked seven days a week . My mom never had a paying job her job was in our home taking care of her kids, the house, and my dad. She was there for us and I am thankful for that to this day. I learned how to cook, clean, and do laundry. We were taught respect . That seems missing allot today

Maybe someone should ask Joy about the treatment of women by the Muslims. Poor Rick only stated the truth about how men would react to women in the battle field. Here’s a scenario for you: male and female soldier gets captured by the Muslim Brotherhood. The female soldier is stripped naked and placed on the floor in front of the male soldier. The male soldier is told to answer their question or they will rape the female soldier right before his very eyes. The enemy will always play to our greatest weakness in our culture. In our culture we are taught to protect women, in the Muslim culture the women would have dishonored her family by being a soldier in the first place and her father would have cut her head off. All of these feminist are ignorant, naive elitist who know nothing of the real world. They only want to sit high on their thrones in hopes they can rule over the rest of us. Why do they do a talk show anyway? Because they want to tell us what to believe, because they think we are too ignorant to make our own decisions.
