Barry Manilow Agrees With Just About Everything Ron Paul Says
Grammy award-winning musician Barry Manilow apparently agrees with “just about everything” GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul says and confirmed to the Daily Caller in an interview Thursday that he was a contributor to Paul’s last campaign for president.

“I like him. I like what he says, I do. I like what he says. I think he’s solid. I agree with just about everything he says. What can I tell you?” Manilow stated.

Some people totally agree with Ron Paul.
Some disagree with him on some issues – war, abortion, free-market, bail out, torture.

Agree or disagree, you can TRUST Ron Paul that he will not change his position to please the establishment or special interests. Ron Paul is solid, not for sale.

How can you not be sure about Obamacare and want the CDC to receive funding for research that should be left to the private sector, then say you agree with almost everything Ron Paul says? That’s like saying, “I’m on the fence about socialism and I want the government to stay out of my life, but dogonit I agree with just about everything that Barak Obama says.”

      @blue_sky,

“Some disagree with him on some issues – war, abortion, free-market, bail out, torture.”

Ron Paul is not pro-abortion. Were he a governor, he would oppose abortion in his State because abortion is murder.

Rather, Ron Paul‘s position is that laws concerning crime are not part of the federal government’s enumerated powers. Therefore, only States can set laws on abortion, or any other crime.

      Good question.

How does a guy who has “been a big supporter over the years of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer”, now say he “Agrees With ‘Just About Everything’ Ron Paul Says”???

Manilow sparks political feud with TV show – Reuters Sep 17, 2007

“Manilow has been a generous contributor to Democratic Party candidates, according to data compiled by the Federal Election Commission.

This year, he contributed the maximum-allowable $2,300 each to the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joseph Biden, and John Edwards, as well as to Ron Paul, a maverick Texas Republican.

He has also been a big supporter over the years of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, a California lawmaker on the left wing of the Democratic Party.”

‘Pop singer Barry Manilow, a major Democratic fundraiser, said on Monday he has scrapped plans to appear on the television talk show “The View,” because he did not want to be interviewed by its conservative co-host.’

Looks like Barry has gone through a fundamental transformation.

There is hope that the other Barry will also go through a fundamental transformation to become a Republican. There is hope the Mooslems that want to convert us or kill us and take over the world will fundamentally transform to peace loving, civilized people that say, can’t we all just get along?

      Sadly Beck is a progressive.

He’s made the first step of understanding (and preaching) that progressives are on the left and the right.

He hasn’t made the second step of understanding that he is one.

I don‘t think it’s ill intentioned. He is just still mired in the progressive, anti-Constitution meme. We are all taught to ignore the Constitution where we don’t like it.

Dems and GoP both love the Constitution, except where they want to ignore it. Beck is part of that, although I think he has potential to grow beyond it. He hasn’t as of yet.

It;s interesting where Beck will not lie about Van Jones or Obama, he does lie about Dr Paul. Dr Paul is not anti-Israel. Dr Paul is pro-Isreal. He correctly notes we give four times as much money to Israels foes as to Israel. What is wrong with wanting to stop it all?

It‘s too bad CT didn’t elect Schiff to be their Senator, oh well their bad. The federal government takes in about 2.4 trillion and is 15 trillion in debt, so at a blended interest rate of about 15% all their revenue would go to pay interest on the debt. This would leave ZERO money for anything else, no social security, no medicare, no defense spending, etc… We are so screwed, and most people don’t even know it. Ron Paul and Peter Schiff do, and I think Glenn Beck knows it, too.

Ron Paul and Peter Schiff are two of the best truth-dealers out there. Sometimes I think Glenn hung around O’Reilly just long enough to contract infectious egomania. Egomaniacs don’t like competition.

I personally believe the most dangerous association Glenn has, is with David Barton – the unapologetic Theocrat.

I also believe the Beckistan regime is unabashedly anti-Ron Paul. I really don’t know why, when Glenn is on his game, both he and Ron are saying the same things. Same regarding Schiff’s economic analysis.

I will also have to admit, the “Underwriter” concept is kinda ******* me off. I thought GBTV was to be funded by “the viewer” and beholden to nobody. So much for that.

I would not look up to an entertainer to inform me re politics. There are exceptions, like Reagan & Schwartznegger, from time to time. Many of these entertainers are not well educated or bright, we do get a Bob Dylan on rare occasion, but Mr. Dylan prefers to influence us solely by his music, he is not “out there” endorsing candidates like Manilow. Mick Jager attended London School of Economics, very bright man but does not impose his views on his fans. Sadly, Manilow has some of the most rabid fans of any pop star. They would follow him tot River Styx if he gave “the sign”. As a Jew I am very disgusted with his public endorsement of Ron Paul. I ask Jews who think Dr. Paul may be OK to look carefully at his history. Israel is not perfect, but I love my faith & my spiritual homeland. These are bad times for Jewish people. Manilow reminds me of some of the “Jews” in Wiemer Germany. I used to enjoy some of his songs, now he gives me the creeps. I seem to recall him, in one of his bios as describing himself as a “seeker”, kind of avoiding his Jewish background. He also has a grandmother, if I recall who is Irish Catholic, so perhaps his Jewish identity is not that strong. He is American & free to choose as he pleases. Yet this is a dark time for Israel, it was very insensitive of him to be so public of Dr. Paul. I am truthfully very shocked & repulsed by his endorsement of Paul. His music will never sound good to me again.

A young Congressman who had once been so anxious to be photographed with Ronald Reagan scampered like a Texas jackrabbit when the going got tough. In 1987, when Reagan truly needed his supporters to stand by him, Ron Paul suddenly disappeared from the man’s side. In fact, he resigned from the Republican Party and blamed Reagan for his disillusionment with the GOP. The sordid reality is that his loyalty to Ronald Reagan lasted only so long as it was politically expedient and his vaunted libertarian principles have proven to be remarkably elastic. In a letter that echoed the prevailing [Democrat talking points] of the day he wrote, “The chickens have yet to come home to roost, but they will, and America will suffer from a Reaganomics that is nothing but warmed-over Keynesianism.”

Hmmmmm. I remember Rearend Jeremiah Wright saying something about… nah, can’t be….

(My words, loose interpretation but true to the ideas being stated.) No we should not disband all our military abroad. That is stupid. This one thing alone shows me that I would never trust Ron Paul with the presidency because he has no idea who we really are. Just before the Republican debate at the Reagan Library, Ron Paul released an attack ad targeting his fellow Texan and presidential aspirant Rick Perry. It shows a young Congressman Paul posing with Ronald Reagan in a series of photos and features a portentous voiceover claiming that, while Paul “stood with Reagan,” Perry was this and Perry was that. This ad is brazenly deceptive, but it does provide an edifying glimpse into the true character of Ron Paul posing as a man of principle fighting the good fight against the corrupt “prags” of the GOP establishment. It reveals that Ron Paul is a fraud of the first order.

libertarianism is basically Marxism of the fringe Right. If Marxism is the delusion that one can run society purely on altruism and collectivism, then libertarianism is the mirror-image delusion that one can run it purely on selfishness and individualism. Society in fact requires both individualism and collectivism, both selfishness and altruism, to function. Like Marxism, libertarianism offers the fraudulent intellectual security of a complete “a priori” account of the political good without the effort of empirical investigation. Like Marxism, it aspires, overtly or covertly, to reduce social life to economics. And like Marxism, it has its historical myths and a genius for making its followers feel like an elect unbound by the moral rules of their society.

Libertarians in real life rarely live up to their own theory but tend to indulge in the pleasant parts while declining to live up to the difficult portions. They flout the drug laws but continue to collect government benefits they consider illegitimate. This is not just an accidental failing of libertarianism’s believers but an intrinsic temptation of the doctrine that sets it up to fail whenever tried, just like Marxism.

Reagan talked beautiful. Just like Obama. (well really much better than Obama but still) Just like Obama he did nothing to accomplish what his words said. He took the easy path of borrowing against future generations.

I think Reagan meant well. But he was weak or misled. And Reagan didn’t end the USSR. Collectivism did. Just like it is ending the US. The USSR was terminal and nothing any US president could do could save it or kill it. Culturally they had already bought into collectivism as being the solution to collectivism. They had no one left to blame that the population would believe.

This is why it is always claimed that the free market is to blame for everything in the US. Despite there is no free market in the US. They have to make it seems like collectivism is the alternative, when the truth is collectivism has been here for a century.

LOL! Their music sucks but I like the name! Okay, Barry, go write the songs. Ron Paul is nothing but an every four year distraction. He has as much of a chance of winning the the Republican nomination as I do. He and his little ropaulistinians are hilarious. But, it is getting old, adults need to be engaged in this election, not him and his little following of 14 year olds.

      @MOOTTHEDOPE

You are an Idiot ! Moreover, you are not even mildly amusing !
Who needs to be engaged in elections ? Neoconservatives ? Who is your pick for President ?
You don’t even have the B@lls to pick one, and disclose it to me !!!
I will actually expound on substantive issues, to come to a legitimate conjecture.
I would not be Bloviating arcane rhetoric, as you do so well.
I bet you really liked the Bushes. They are mendacious criminals that led our country into a long drawn-out war under the guise of “safety”. Same as any other Progressive Tyrant does, steals individual rights and liberty, to indemnify that you become a Factotum.
This “little ropaulistinian” will be waiting for your profound, intellectual retort !!! lol

I really don’t need anyone from Hollywood to try and sway me… I can remember years ago when you didn’t ask someone what party they followed.. it was nobody’s business.. Maybe that was something learned when Wilson was President, for fear of reprisal.. I am tired of the media.pushing whi they favor.. or like Oprah.. her shove of Obama was enough to turn her off completely!

I like how the Anti Paul pundits on the blaze are rushing to make this “not important”.

However if some arbitrary event like Muslim violence thousands of miles away from America occurs, Blazers have a kneejerk reaction that basically states we need to go to war with that country.

Glenn Beck would rant against George Washington for counselling against waging war in far off countries. Probably because Glen Beck has never had the balls to personally wage war. He’s never had a reality check on the mass casualties that war produces.
He’s a chicken hawk. If Glenn Beck is so in favor of waging war against Iran he should shut up, put his money where his mouth is. Pack up his family, and pay for his trip over to Iran and have at it. But he won’t. Because he‘s a chickenshit fake christian who wants to send other people’s children, spouses and parents to die while he sits on his ass and spouts off at people who like Ron Paul who have sacrificed, treasure, comfort, time with beloved family and even risked their lives for their principles.
I challenge Glenn Beck to put up any Republican presidential candidate. Allow me to prove why they don’t measure up to Ron Paul. I challege him. There is not one in the pack who won’t inflict pain or shame on our wounded country.

Agreeing with Paul will get you 000$$$, so I don’t know what to make of him….I guess one could say he is a stupid dual minded man who simply does not understand Washington.

    Barry Manilow ~~ Crime Fighter!

A residential and business district in Sydney Australia has been overrun by “hoons” — gangs of hooligans — who blast loud music, cruise the streets, and drive customers away with their rowdy behavior. Frustrated Australian officials have turned to the one man powerful enough to clean up the neighborhood: Barry Manilow.

The hoons will soon find their revved-up car stereos overwhelmed by loudspeakers pumping the Manilow song catalog, a body of work that dominated the adult contemporary charts for years and includes “Brandy,“ ”Copacabana,“ and ”Looks Like We Made It.”

When I go down the list of each candidate and their stances on issues (at least what most current stance is since most seem to change their minds with each audience) I agree with Ron on nearly everything too. Bachmann second – but I’m not convinced she means most of what she says.

If you are not clear on Ron Pauls Foreign Policy (and that’s pretty much the issues I struggled with) read his book A Foreign Policy of Freedom, Peace, Commerce and Honest Friendship.

Here is a nice wiki article on his positions but his books explain in so much more detail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Ron_Paul
