Barton Calls Obama ‘America’s Most Biblically-Hostile U.S. President’

Barton Calls Obama America’s Most Biblically Hostile U. S. PresidentIs President Barack Obama America’s most “Biblically-hostile U.S. president?” This is the label that conservative historian David Barton has given Obama, as the nation continues its debate over the president’s controversial contraceptive mandate.

But for Barton, the situation transcends the current discussion about religious freedom and the Catholic Church, as the frequent guest on Glenn Beck’s radio and television shows develops his provocative argument in detail. He writes:

When one observes President Obama’s unwillingness to accommodate America’s four-century long religious conscience protection through his attempts to require Catholics to go against their own doctrines and beliefs, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Catholic. But that characterization would not be correct. Although he has recently singled out Catholics, he has equally targeted traditional Protestant beliefs over the past four years. So since he has attacked Catholics and Protestants, one is tempted to say that he is anti-Christian. But that, too, would be inaccurate. He has been equally disrespectful in his appalling treatment of religious Jews in general and Israel in particular. So perhaps the most accurate description of his antipathy toward Catholics, Protestants, religious Jews, and the Jewish nation would be to characterize him as anti-Biblical. And then when his hostility toward Biblical people of faith is contrasted with his preferential treatment of Muslims and Muslim nations, it further strengthens the accuracy of the anti-Biblical descriptor. In fact, there have been numerous clearly documented times when his pro-Islam positions have been the cause of his anti-Biblical actions.

Barton Calls Obama America’s Most Biblically Hostile U. S. President

Barton then goes on to list, in chronological order, the president’s purported attacks in the following sections:

(1) numerous records of his attacks on Biblical persons or organizations; (2) examples of the hostility toward Biblical faith that have become evident in the past three years in the Obama-led military; (3) a listing of his open attacks on Biblical values; and finally (4) a listing of numerous incidents of his preferential deference for Islam’s activities and positions, including letting his Islamic advisors guide and influence his hostility toward people of Biblical faith.

Parts One and Two can be read, below:

1. Acts of hostility toward people of Biblical faith:

  • April 2008 – Obama speaks disrespectfully of Christians, saying they “cling to guns or religion” and have an “antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”
  • February 2009 – Obama announces plans to revoke conscience protection for health workers who refuse to participate in medical activities that go against their beliefs, and fully implements the plan in February 2011.
  • April 2009 – When speaking at Georgetown University, Obama orders that a monogram symbolizing Jesus’ name be covered when he is making his speech.
  • May 2009 – Obama declines to host services for the National Prayer Day (a day established by federal law) at the White House.
  • April 2009 – In a deliberate act of disrespect, Obama nominated three pro-abortion ambassadors to the Vatican; of course, the pro-life Vatican rejected all three.
  • October 19, 2010 – Obama begins deliberately omitting the phrase about “the Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions.
  • November 2010 – Obama misquotes the National Motto, saying it is “E pluribus unum” rather than “In God We Trust” as established by federal law.
  • January 2011 – After a federal law was passed to transfer a WWI Memorial in the Mojave Desert to private ownership, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled that the cross in the memorial could continue to stand, but the Obama administration refused to allow the land to be transferred as required by law, and refused to allow the cross to be re-erected as ordered by the Court.
  • February 2011 – Although he filled posts in the State Department, for more than two years Obama did not fill the post of religious freedom ambassador, an official that works against religious persecution across the world; he filled it only after heavy pressure from the public and from Congress.
  • April 2011 – For the first time in American history, Obama urges passage of a non-discrimination law that does not contain hiring protections for religious groups, forcing religious organizations to hire according to federal mandates without regard to the dictates of their own faith, thus eliminating conscience protection in hiring.
  • August 2011 – The Obama administration releases its new health care rules that override religious conscience protections for medical workers in the areas of abortion and contraception.
  • November 2011 – Obama opposes inclusion of President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous D-Day Prayer in the WWII Memorial.
  • November 2011 – Unlike previous presidents, Obama studiously avoids any religious references in his Thanksgiving speech.
  • December 2011 – The Obama administration denigrates other countries’ religious beliefs as an obstacle to radical homosexual rights.
  • January 2012 – The Obama administration argues that the First Amendment provides no protection for churches and synagogues in hiring their pastors and rabbis.
  • February 2012 – The Obama administration forgives student loans in exchange for public service, but announces it will no longer forgive student loans if the public service is related to religion.

2. Acts of hostility from the Obama-led military toward people of Biblical faith:

  • June 2011 – The Department of Veterans Affairs forbids references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at Houston National Cemetery.
  • August 2011 – The Air Force stops teaching the Just War theory to officers in California because the course is taught by chaplains and is based on a philosophy introduced by St. Augustine in the third century AD – a theory long taught by civilized nations across the world (except America).
  • September 2011 – Air Force Chief of Staff prohibits commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains.
  • September 2011 – The Army issues guidelines for Walter Reed Medical Center stipulating that “No religious items (i.e. Bibles, reading materials and/or facts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit.”
  • November 2011 – The Air Force Academy rescinds support for Operation Christmas Child, a program to send holiday gifts to impoverished children across the world, because the program is run by a Christian charity.
  • November 2011 – The Air Force Academy pays $80,000 to add a Stonehenge-like worship center for pagans, druids, witches and Wiccans.
  • February 2012 – The U. S. Military Academy at West Point disinvites three star Army general and decorated war hero Lieutenant General William G. (“Jerry”) Boykin (retired) from speaking at an event because he is an outspoken Christian.
  • February 2012 – The Air Force removes “God” from the patch of Rapid Capabilities Office (the word on the patch was in Latin: Dei).
  • February 2012 – The Army orders Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners that their archbishop asked them to read.

You can read the entire categorized listing here.

Looking through this list I hope that there is not one person left who says that we should just pray for him. He needs to be voted out, what would he do if he doesn’t have to worry about campaigning for another term? This is a true story. There was a black woman in our church who’s family was devoutly christian. She asked them why they were voting for Obama and his political stance. Her mom said that they just have to pray harder for him. This is the result of those types of people, I don’t think Obama would stop even if an angel visited him and told him to do so.

Excerpts of a comment I made on another thread.

When someone hears the gospel and rejects it, his heart is hardened:

“ And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thess. 2:11-12).

Sinners should be warned that the only guarantee they have of being saved is to repent TODAY. They may never get another chance, either because they die suddenly or because they harden their hearts to the point where God decides to give them over to a reprobate mind. While it is true that we usually don’t know if that happens, the Bible clearly tells us that the following individuals will not be saved:

      - Those who teach heresies (2 Pet. 2);
      -A Christian who commits the sin unto death (1 John 5: 16; Heb. 6:4-6);
-A person who blasphemes the Holy Spirit (Mk. 3: 28-29), and
-Workers of iniquity, aka, the wicked, evildoers, the enemies of God (Psalm 92: 9; Matt. 7:6).

Does Obama fall under the last category? And how can we recognize workers of iniquity? Quite simply, Jesus describes them in detail:

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:44) (CONT.)

      (CONT.)
Breaking it down, a worker of iniquity is someone who:
-Is driven by Satanic desires, i.e., seeks to steal, kill and destroy.
-Does not stand in the truth, i.e., doesn’t belong to Christ.
-Speaks only lies, i.e., is a consummate liar.
-Is a murderer, i.e., has total disregard for human life.
-Has made the devil his father, i.e., is directly empowered by the devil, meaning, he has the spirit of antichrist. This is the overarching characteristic, and the REASON WHY GOD CALLS US TO INTERCEDE SO THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE TAKEN OUT. (Psalm 94:16; Judges 5:31):

“Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?” (Psalm 94:16)

Obama fits the above description to a tee: He steals, he wants to destroy America and freedom, and he is responsible for the death of millions of babies (and I highly suspect of some adults). He lies every time he opens his mouth. He hates and/or mocks God, his Word, his people and his Bride. He most certainly has the spirit of antichrist, because only someone empowered by Satan can rise to the highest position of leadership, where he can unleash evil on a large scale.

We Christians have been passive for too long. We are being “destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6). Let’s stop being religious and start fighting the good fight.

Even if we cannot stand him personally, we ought to treat the duly elected President of the United States of America with proper respect. That’s what I teach my children to do.

TEA party Americans believe the last administration was guilty of out of control spending, starting unnecessary wars and creating Welfare Part D without paying for it. Yet we can still show respect for President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney and their lovely wives and beloved families.

If you need to hate the President – at least show some respect for Vice President Biden and his PhD Beauty Bride Jill, and their wonderful children and stepchildren. They are all practicing Roman Catholics who are very photogenic and have squeaky clean backgrounds. Just like the Santorums.

Kinda funny, in trying to show someone the faults of Barton on another thread on this article that sums up what you said to a tee.

“If we look back into history for the character of the present sects in Christianity, we shall find few that have not in their turns been persecutors, and complainers of persecution. The primitive Christians thought persecution extremely wrong in the Pagans, but practiced it on one another. The first Protestants of the Church of England blamed persecution in the Romish church, but practiced it upon the Puritans. These found it wrong in the Bishops, but fell into the same practice themselves both here [England] and in New England” – Benjamin Franklin

Isn‘t it Beck who says progressives always accuse their enemies of what they’re doing? All I hear about is Christian’s being persecuted and under attack.

We know our oath to protect the Constitution does not allow crimes against our citizenry, unlike the ultra right wing Nazi Reichstag – where German dissenters were silenced or eliminated. There were German dissenters all along, but they had to go underground because there was no free speech. Have a great day.

Recently, I’ve come to understand the parable of the wheat and the tares. Simply said, some people just ain’t gonna get saved.

People can pray for Obama if they want — if it will make them FEEL better. But Obama is the Man of Perdition (Yeah, I really do believe he IS the Antichrist), and as far as I can tell, that man gets cast into hell.

But does that mean he is going to hell because no one prayed for him — or, at least, not enough?

Pray that people have their eyes opened to him, and find him for who and what he truly is: Evil.

[Quote] TEA party Americans believe the last administration was guilty of out of control spending, starting unnecessary wars and creating Welfare Part D without paying for it.

You are quoting for a group of people for which you have no right to represent (save yourself). One part of your statement is factually wrong, the “starting unnecessary wars”. Which wars? All wars? Just the war on Iraq? The TEA party is simply about over taxation and not about the wars and protection of the Union.

You may personally think that the wars were unnecessary, but as a TEA party supporter, I can say that the view is not 100% embraced. Many feel that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan were necessary for national defense and to correct a wrong (IE Iraq) that is well rooted in previous American foreign policy. Besides, the “unnecessary wars” cost us $7 Trillion over two years. Meanwhile, social security, Medicaid/Medicare, food stamps, healthcare for illegal immigrants cost 3-4 times this amount. Not to mention that the protection of the Union is the only power really established in the Constitution for the purpose of a Federal Government. No where does it state that these entitlements are to be covered.

I hope you don;t take this as an attack, but a notation that you are generalizing a party to an extremely narrow belief. One to which I have not seen in any literature from the TEA party. In fact, it may be your local TEA party, as they are often setup locally.

He is only the poster child for the movement with regards to his domestic policy. Proof of this is in the evidence that more TEA party supporters vote for Romney and Santorum at a rate of 67%.

I’d like to make a serious point about Glenn Beck and his assertion that “The truth lives here” and that we should “question with boldness.” Truth exists independent of one’s efforts to find it and ability to understand it. In Glenn Beck’s case; he limits the use of deductive reason and logic to temporal matters of society and politics. Unfortunately, Mr. Beck chooses not to examine the eternal matter of salvation in that same light when it comes to his Mormon “faith.” Because Mr. Beck injects “faith” into almost every aspect of his programing and editorials, it would only serve logic for him to examine the TRUTH behind Mormonism.

      ——-
Well, scholars or any studious person would have known that was not possible, because Israel had to become a nation before the Antichrist appeared. In any case, the Holy Spirit gives ever-increasing revelation to the Body of Christ as his return becomes imminent.

That being said, all dictators have the SPIRIT of antichrist, which describes the spirit of those who are fathered by the devil to bring devastation on the earth.

However, the fact is, he has real problem with white people and it has been quite evident on several occasions to me. He tries hard to cover it up but, it bubbles out from time to time, the first incident for me was the college professor that the cops arrested when a break in was reported at his house. Most folks remember that, he was bubbling racism in that one. There have since been many slips for him but it shows and he knows it.

Also remember for 20 years he listened to his preacher cuss and swear while spouting his filth while holding up a Bible in his hands. Check out your preacher, notice that if you include the verse in front of what you are reading it changes the meaning. Some preachers add and take away from the Bible. Interesting . I had a dream last night that I was in a bus going up a craggy old mountain. There really was not a road , the bus carrying us was struggling to stay on the path . I looked over and saw the scene from the Exorcist..when St. Michael the Archangel was on one high rock and across from him , Satan was on the other. As we drove by and I looked out the window Satan had Obama’s face . After we got to the top, there was a beautiful peaceful serene village. I woke up and thought, good will prevail over evil in the long run and this time of Obama’s regime will be behind us! He is by far the worst president I have ever seen or for that matter read about in history books.

Johnny Midnight – here is why I said that —

Some folks claim the TEA party sprang up under this administration because of all the out of control Bush Era spending finally caused the economy to tank.

Others say it is because the president is a foreign looking Mulatto, and that makes “Conservatives” and unsophisticated lower class white folks crazy.

My Taxed Enough Already brothers and sisters here are free thinking independents – we consider ourselves to be grass roots local activists, patriotic, and absolutely Non-Haters and Non-Partisans. We do not practice Hate, but love to get political results to protect our grandchildren’s freedom and opportunity for economic prosperity.

By the way our group shuns Freedom Works who have tried to ‘market us’ to their national agenda, and we will never be aligned with the slick, political TEA Corporations like the Express. We are small and stay small and local. With size and power comes corruption and group think.

There is a difference between “being persecuted” and “not getting everything you want”.

This list is a bit ridiculous: in several of the examples, it simply shows that the President is interested in separation of church and state….and that’s applicable to ALL religions, not just Christianity and the Bible.

So, I guess my question to the headline question is…….so what if he is? The President is supposed to serve the country based on the powers given him by the Constitution of the United States….not the Bible.

Personally, I respect anyone’s right to believe whatever they want. But, I do NOT want a President in office who makes his decisions based on his religion.

America is not a theocracy. And it’s time more Americans wake up to that fact.

I have to tell you that I WAS PRAYING FOR HIM for several years now, but one day, in my prayer time, THE HOLY SPIRIT TOLD ME TO STOP because Obama’s heart was hardened. So, I stopped praying for him. God still loves Obama, but God is now handling that man.

Our purpose now, as followers of Christ, is to share with our family and friends, our duty as Christians and Americans TO VOTE for people who are righteous. Obama IS NOT RIGHTEOUS. He pretends to be. Any true follower of Christ CAN SEE THAT THRU THEIR SPIRITUAL EYES.
I feel so sorry for him, but once again, THE HOLY SPIRIT TOLD ME TO STOP PRAYING FOR THAT POOR SOUL. What you do is up to you. I STILL PRAY FOR MY COUNTRY AND THAT AMERICANS WILL UNITED UNDER GOD AND OUR DEAR CONSTITUTION THAT GOD GAVE US.

We must united and stand together FOR GOD AND ONE ANOTHER.

They do not want to serve anyone but themselves. We should vote him out but we should pray for him too…that is the Christian way.
      ——–
What are you going to pray? That he be saved? Jesus exhorts us not to cast our pearls before swine, but how can we heed the Lord‘s exhortation if we can’t tell who the swine are? Do you think Jesus made empty statements, or does every word He spoke carry meaning? Take heed, lest you pray in vain.

Look at Acts 4 where the chief priests & elders — who are in cahoots with the Roman govt. — forbid the disciples to speak in Jesus’ name. How do they respond? Do they bless the Obamas and the Jim Wallises of the day? Plead for their salvation? No.

“Why did the nations rage, and the people plot vain things? The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against His Christ.” (Acts 4: 25-26)

Here are the steps they followed: They quoted the Scriptures, identified the enemy before God, reminded God who these people were attacking – notice it was GOD AND HIS SON, not the believers – and declared that despite the enemy’s rage, their schemes would fail. THEN they prayed for boldness, signs & wonders. We need to emulate them. We could pray something like, “Lord, behold your enemy Obama (& machine). WE DECLARE THEIR SCHEMES AGAINST YOU WILL FAIL. Lord, revive us and work wonders through us for your glory. IJN, Amen. THAT is the Christian way. Peace.

Republicans refuse to work with the President out of sheer hatred. It doesn’t matter what President Obama tries to do, Republicans will always oppose him and are willing to destroy the country to get their way. And since President Obama supports everything that has made America great, Republicans will only seek to wipe out all of those things and have admitted as such. That is not true leadership. It’s treason.
Fox has them so crazy that they believe that Obama WANTS high gas prices. They want people to believe not only that Obama has different views than them, but that he HATES AMERICA. It’s quite disgusting, but those who lay down with dogs end up with fleas. The Republican party is destroying its relationship with women, people of color, and the sane. There are those who fear the demographic changes of America, and need this kind of rhetoric, but most of America is moving on. The GOP will learn this in the Great Obama Landslide of 2012.

      He’s not a communist, nor a marxist, nor a socialist, he’s a liberal.

      @MODERATIONISBEST:

There is perhaps nothing more infantile than an agnostic telling a suspected Christian how to be more… Christian.

Am I a Christian, MIB? You betcha. But not the church-going type. You won’t find me “speaking in tongues”, or following a pastor from one church to another. Christianity is too practical for standing up to sing, sitting down to sing, confessing your sins to anyone who will listen, or any other so-called religious undertaking which has nothing whatsoever to do with the purpose of taking up one’s cross.

Moderation? Another word for being lukewarm. And what did the messiah tell the scribes and pharisees about being lukewarm? He told them he would rather they be either hot or cold, but because they were lukewarm, he spit them out of his mouth.

Everyone has a day with their maker coming. I do, you do. You’ve heard the truth about that at different points all your life. Now is the day to get ready.

MRBUTCHER, ultimately the Bible is what matters. Everything else is secondary (the constitution IS right there though). Only through the word of the Bible and Jesus Christ will you have eternal life. There is only choice A or B when leaving this world, there is no C, D or F. Maybe a better example would be what happens in your house at night when you walk into a room. Lets say the lights are on in that room and no where else in the house or close to it. It’s a cloudy night and there are no stars and no moon. If you turn off the light in that room what comes in? Darkness! When you turn on the light there is light, there is no in between. You either have light or dark, A or B. It’s the way of the universe, eternity with the father with no sadness or despair or and eternal nashing of teeth.

When we stray away from sound biblical teachings we reap what the penalties will be. Laws are there for a reason…for our own protection of what will come our way if we do not adhere to them. America has done well to keep the Judeo-Christians laws in her courts and contracts. It has been the social thread of the overall fabric that has held us together. Now a days, there is no right and no wrong except what the regulations say is right and wrong. If one can find away around them then no crime has been committed in the eyes of the law givers…the state. Example: Your not trespassing is there is no posted sign.

We have found loopholes and or justifications for throwing Gods laws out and we are no going to suffer through having a godless government kinda like the Germans found out. They had to be soundly beaten to the ground to make them heel before the world….thats going to happen to the USA and its by design and not by accident.

These people know that acting this way, going to wars all over the globe is making us the bad guys. Does anyone believe the Iraqis, Libyians, Afghanis are now our allies and friends to come to our aid….NO, they will dance on our gaves and are doing so in Libya already. I feel sorry for the grandchildren and great grandchildren of those who fought to build this country up from scratch…..WE ARE those Children! It is us who will suffer because of this president.

We left the Episcopal church within a couple of Sundays, joined a Bible-believing church and have worked to ensure that our minahs and talents will not be returned interest free. We are working to unseat all liberals from positions of power and influence and return our nation to the Bible-based US Constitution. Praise the Lord for David Barton! And if you’re in Indiana, vote May 8 for Richard Mourdock – it’s time to retire Dick Lugar!

Okay, I guess I was wrong when I said he had to issue an apology, but moreso he had to update his book and removed the questionable quotes from them.

“Barton is apparently at least somewhat embarrassed by his inaccuracies, or at least wants to cover them up. Thus, The Myth of Separation has been “updated” and retitled Original Intent. The new, longer volume omits the phony quotes and some of the more egregious errors in The Myth of Separation but remains rife with distortions of history and court rulings. Throughout, the book pitches the line that the United States was founded to be a “Christian nation” and charges that the modern Supreme Court and church-state separationists have covered up this legacy.”

If you do a little research on the man, it will be clear that he is not some random historian who wants to try to correct errors of historical teaching but instead is a fundamentalist Christian trying to “take back” a country he deems is going away from the founder’s original intent.

He has as much an agenda as the crazy progressives do.

      Greetings BILLY,

MOD’s agenda (assignment?) on this one is to discredit David Barton. I‘m not very familiar with Barton’s works. What I don‘t understand is MOD’s intensity on this thread and specific objection to anything Barton stated in the article above. Obama does seem to harbor hostility to the Bible as well as Jews and Christians. Perhaps MOD’s relates to Obama on that topic and is naturally compelled to denounce Barton solely for the fact he is a Christian.

      @COPATRIOTS

I thought you were tired of talking to me, or about me? Yet here you are again. You remind me of your friend, complain about having to respond to me…..while continuing to respond to me or about me.

Barton discredits himself. According to the information I’ve seen, Barton holds no advanced degree, but instead has a Bachelors degree in “Christian Education” from Oral Roberts University and a Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Pensacola Christian College. Read up on how Barton started getting into history….he obviously has an agenda…..and the truth is not part of it.

Barton is widely discredited by many historians, but I’m sure to you guys those historians are just liberal, marxist, socialists, communists, hitler, mao, stalin, che loving Anti-Christs, blah blah blah.

I would suspect a correction in a re-print in a book is a form of an apology. He also did come out and say that his interpretation of the quotes shouldn’t be applied as he originally said. So no, as I said above, he never gave a formal apology of ‘I’m sorry’ but he did have to remove the quotes and correct his own interpretation.

I have no problem with Barton’s Christian beliefs. I have a problem that he is using those beliefs to dupe people into believing what he says.

Ah MOD, you are nothing if you’re not relentless. You’re so precious when you put words out there on my behalf. I never said I was tired of you, per se. I essentially said you’ve become boorish, predictable, repetitive, willfully antagonistic, an agenda-pusher. Hmmm….that may not be an exhaustive list but I think you get my point. I also said I don’t want to assist you in advancing your daily talking points, not that I never intended to talk to you or with others about your comments. Um, I‘m actually an adult and don’t feel the necessity of childish games of shunning people who disagree with me. I am capable of effectively communicating why I chose not to respond further to you on any particular thread.

As I said yesterday, you have effective debate skills and are obviously philosopic. I have learned much from you about how today’s young adults formulate their beliefs. But I have also noticed while you are modifying and improving your arguments basically your posts are regurgitations. I simply bypass most of them anymore as essentially there is no new material. You “cherry pick” the parts to which you will respond and you continue your agenda.

Case in point……your intent was to discredit Barton here and you still haven’t said what you disagree with in what he said above.

You‘ve stated you come to Beck’s site because you are “fiscally conservative”. Beck is Mormon and Barton, a frequent guest of Beck’s, is evangelical Christian while you are atheist. You must find value in a Mormon’s website since you show up here daily.

Sooooo…….why is it that you only have lengthy discussions when it comes to articles concerning Christians? If fiscal conservatism was your point of agreement with The Blaze, I would think you would avoid any Christian-oriented article. Rather, those seem to be the bane of your existence.

Why do you insist on hating here everything and everyone who is Christian? Why do you feel so compelled to discredit Barton? Have you read his works? I’m sorry you feel like I cherry pick arguments. I usually don’t copy and paste posts directed at me, I just read them and occasionally scroll up to remember something that I forgot.

As clear from above, you have quite a few posts there so I will not respond to all of that.

I will respond to one thing you said, which Billy piggy backed on.

“Sooooo…….why is it that you only have lengthy discussions when it comes to articles concerning Christians?”

I do post on things about big government spending, however since I agree with many Beck users about this, they aren’t going to challenge me to any long discussions.

The reason I come to these faith based articles is because as I stated a long time ago, I believe that the Republican party is going too far right in their social issues, which will scare off a lot of potential voters. Also, I do enjoy talking to people about these things, getting their views on things, etc As I stated before, I originally came here because I liked Beck(I watched his show on Fox). I didn’t necessarily go along with his whole socialism, communism etc to every level, but I did think he talked about interesting things and made interesting points. I was then surprised when I came here and all I saw was “Anti Christ this, Anti Christ that, socialist, marxist, kenyan“ ”end of the world this” etc etc.

      @COPATRIOTS

Do I challenge you on questions about your faith? Yes absolutely, but why is that a bad thing? I’m not quite sure how religion is the one area of our society that “can’t be questioned.” I’m not trying to turn you away from your faith, I know that’s not possible. Do I attempt to pull back extreme people who go around shouting about anti Christs? Yes, because I think they’re going to scare off people.

And I did say I was against the Obamacare mandate of contraception. While I think it’s silly to be against birth control, I know that’s not the issue and said I was against the mandate. I’m against Obamacare in general.

If I didn’t like the people here, and think we could work together, I wouldn’t come here. The reason I don’t go onto Huffington Post or anything is because I view those people just as crazy as the Anti Christ shouters. The majority of those people at the Huffington Post are FOR big Government, and they make no qualms about it. I am for limited Government, which Beck and you guys talk about. I just get weary when I see Republicans argue for limited Government, and then advocate for these broad social policies which is effectively their form of big Government.

I think the GOP would be better served by pulling back the reigns on all these social issues and focus solely on being a limited Government, balanced budget, reduce the deficit candidate. The GOP can win people over on that.

You do realize I pointed out that it’s almost impossible to answer every single question you have without it being contained in several long posts right?

You do realize I was typing responses to your other questions when you typed that right?

Fact is, if I didn’t like you, I wouldn’t bother discussing things with you. If I didn’t value your opinion, I wouldn’t respond to you. If i didn’t want to know your views on things, i wouldn’t ask you them.

My goal is to not get you to a point where I ask a question you can’t answer. Even if I could, it’s irrelevant because no one has all the answers.

I don’t hate anybody. I may disagree with people, but I don’t relish or cheer when Christians get physically, financially or attacked by people who are breaking the law(I have denounced almost every aspect of Anonymous when they break the law).

When those tornadoes hit and the story came out about the radio host who was mocking them about “where is their God?” I denounced the host, called him a moron and that I felt for the loss of the family. I say Tim Tebow is a great guy, great leader, great role model, but then I do criticize him where I think he’s worthy of criticism(his play on the field)

I may mock and think Pat Robertson has done and said a lot of evil things, but I won’t cheer when he dies. I didn’t go out and cheer when Bin Laden was killed either. I’m not going to go out and make light of death.

      @COPATRIOTS

I have stated above why I think what David Barton does is wrong. I have listed my problems with his research. I will say them again, but please don’t come back with, “Oh, seems like I’ve heard this before.” He is not an actual historian and has edited quotes to take them out of context by using part of a quote to justify his outcome, and then cutting off the portion of the quote which actually refutes what he just said. He sets up straw men by saying, “I thought Atheists said all the founders were secular, or atheists” which no rational atheist does. I dont’ even disagree that Christianity played a role in our founders lifes and viewpoints. Where I disagree is when he starts talking about Christianity in our Government, and being founded and based around Christianity.

Find me an article on the blaze that talks about a liberal distorting history and I will respond the same.

As to Beck’s agenda, I would argue that just because he has an agenda, doesn’t mean all of his points are invalid. As I stated above, I watched Beck’s show, agreed with him some and disagreed on others. I watch Bill O’Reilly, agree with some ideas, disagree with other ideas. A few nights a week I will watch Rachel Maddow, agree with some, disagree with others etc.

The bigger problem is Glenn Beck talks about truth, and the truth not having an agenda, when you just said he does have an agenda.

My reference to Anonymous is a reply to your baseless accusation that I “hate on everything Christian here.” I obviously can’t “hate on everything Christian” here when I defend Christianity against illegal actions taken against them, or support Tim Teobw as a person, or am saddened by the devastation against individuals who are Christians.

While I do mock and insult Christianity on some articles, I don’t recall a time where when we were talking about real suffering, pain, or death did I revel that it happened to a Christian. Your continual responses and accusations make it seem like you view me as some snarling Atheist, gleefully cheering at anything that befalls a Christian when my posts show quite the opposite.

There are some faith based things I don’t comment on, or only had 1 or 2 posts. A decent chunk of my posts come from replys to my posts, which sometimes I’ll comment back on, sometimes i‘ll comment back on specific portions or sometimes I’ll forget I even posted on that topic and move on.

If you don’t like Liberal, no need to go any further. Good enough. However we don’t live in that kind of political world anymore here in the US, our opponents have to be more then wrong…..

Republicans say he is muslim to gain support and turn Christians against him. He is more of a Christian than they will ever be. In time, you too will see that you are being fooled and I pray that God wil step in and wipe out the fake christians.

Everyday they will say how much they love and trust God and how He is the center of their lives. They then will be off to Wednesday night bible study toting their note books and bibles and listen attentively to the Word. After all of this they then rush off to gleefully cast their vote for the most anti God President we’ve ever had; I qualify that to be anti-Christian / Jewish God. Disgusting, simply disgusting.

I firmly believe that people who vote for Obama a second term will fall into deeper darkness. There are consequences to following evil men instead of God, and this time around, they have no excuse.

Obama represents the ultimate in what is wrong and madness made reality with the progressives; he is bent on the destruction of all faith that does not acknowledge the Government as the rightful god in place of the true, living God of us all. In his constant disregarding of the Supreme Court and of the Congress he is only one or two steps away from declaring an autocratic dictatorship.

Right now our nation is on the edge of civil war and dissolution; Obama is completely mad.

I think you misunderstand the concept of megalomania.

God is just God. Conservative is the name people who CONSERVE God’s Word and/or principles call themselves. By contrast, liberals redefine and accommodate God’s Word and moral code to fit their lifestyle, even when they go through the motions of attending a church service on Sunday.

=> “Do you think god hates liberals.”

      Wonder
None of us here think God hates liberals, we think BHO and his supporters hate God. If you can’t distinguish this difference then maybe your are blinded and deaf. (Spiritually speaking of course)

I have asked God why this is so, why do so many in this society hate Him and His word. He tells me, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
God, speaking through the Apostle Paul concerning things that, while being present in every age, will become oh so much more evident in the last days, is speaking to this age. Sadly, many in these days will not follow Paul’s admonition to turn away from such people and turn towards God, but will instead seek out personalities to tickle their hearts and ears with false doctrines and free hand outs.

God does not make the end times, He just lets His servants know where the consequences of man’s actions through pride will eventually lead. Then a day will come when He will put an end to all of man‘s pride and arrogance by establishing His Son’s rule over the earth.
I pray you have peace in that day.

      Wonder
I find the Nazi label way over used by both the left and the right. I love what Brian Sack did on GBTV’s Pumpernickel Boulevard with this topic.

As for Anti Christ, the term can, and I think should be read as Pseudo Christ. This biblical future person sets himself up as the messiah through signs and miracles, deceiving even the very elect of God if that were possible. (see Matthew 24:24) I don’t see Obama significantly fitting this definition at this time. Give him four more years and maybe then this will be revealed.

      Anti Christ is also described as the Man of Lawlessness;
“The coming of the [lawless one] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10)
I do believe Obama has shown by his words and deeds that he is a lawless man, or a man who believes laws are a hinderance to his agenda. Whether this makes him the “Lawless One”, being controlled by Satan, is again yet to be seen.
I strongly believe that viewing biblical end times through the lens of U.S. politics is very myopic. But the more Europe and the U.S. go down the toilet, dragging much of the world along for the ride, the signs of the season that we are living in become ever clearer.

Exactly, plus according to the Bible the Antichrist has to come from ancient Assyria or Babylon, i.e., Iran, Iraq, Turkey or Syria, a territory which many believe is one of the gateways to hell. In addition, Islamic tradition says that he will have to be highly versed in the Qur’an and the hadiths, which Hussein the bum is not, since he can’t even read. Finally, he will be a mighty warrior, another bloody Muhammad, really. I’m describing the Mahdi of course.

When I came to that point, a lot of things made much better sense. I do not talk about it much, because everyone wants to argue about it, and he puts up a so-so front. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions are anti-Christian, anti-Jew and the only good words are for Islam. I won‘t accept excuses that he’s trying to “calm” down the muslims either.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Notice it is “MY PEOPLE” that God calls to prayer. This country doesn’t need to pray, it is the people that call themselves by the name of God, Christians of all stripes, and yes, even Jews.

Maybe the United States doesn‘t appear to biblically factor into God’s end of days scenarios because we become financially, morally and militarily insignificant. OR maybe God’s church in the U.S. turns back to Him, and He to us, and then He protects us from His judgement upon what the book of Revelation calls “the earth dwellers.” Somehow I don’t see the second option playing out. But it appears to me to be the last real choice that God is placing before this generation.

“And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the River (i.e The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob), or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. (The god of progressive liberalism) But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15, words in parenthesis I added)

@ModerationIsBest – I agree with you about Mr. Barton. A degree from the Oral Roberts University in religious education does not an historian make. He has also been connected to neo-Nazi groups, spoke at white supremacist rallies and believes that any non-Christian should not be allowed to hold public office (specifically omitting Jews). He slithered out of the Nazi/supremacist quagmire by stating that he “didn’t know”. Most historians disagree with his interpretation of the “truth” of our history and he believes that the First Amendment only guarantees religious freedom to Christians.

He‘s a real piece of work and I can’t believe that so many people look up to him for guidance. Rush Limbaugh is a better role model which is like looking up to Lindsey Lohan for her ability to not drink and do dugs or to Britney Spears for her excellent parenting skills.
