Bashing America, Gore Vidal and Lib Talker Opine: Wouldn‘t it be Better if Lincoln Didn’t Save the Union

The League of the South, which Glenn interviewed on CNN is a Confederate Revival group who believes the same thing. Both groups apparently don‘t understand that Lincoln was carrying out George Washington’s commission to put the National Union first above local discrimination. They tried to run a candidate for Governor in Georgia and I’m proud to say he was overwhelmingly defeated in the primary. There is lunacy on both sides and we have to stop giving them headlines. We surround them and we need to act like it and focus on truth and restoration.

The only thing that would have been a positive with the south having had their way is that it would have given us more muscle in the fight for states rights today; otherwise, there would have been to positives.

Why on earth do the demoncrat supporters still vote for these their party. It is obvious to everyone else that their agenda has done little to promote unity, fairness, equality, and prosperity; yet they continue to fall for the rhetoric making them ever more dependent upon their slave master party. What may be even worse is that we continue to let them off the hook by perverting the decades of records about who actually pushed for their real freedoms via legislation.
I think it’s time we all study up, then speak up with the facts when these poverty pimps try and reinterpret history to keep the shackles on their voting dependents.

Yes, I‘m sure they’re correct. If the union had lost then we’d still have outright slavery, and the left wouldn’t have to use legislation and trickery to oppress minorities.

When I was growing up my mothers side of the family(from Arkamsas) still referred to the war as “The war of Northern Agression”, which was actually the truth. However, despite what the “Popular” misconception is, slavery was a much smaller issue than did a state have the right to leave the union? The north won, so the answer is “no”.
The “progressives” have done a very good job of changing history and now the emphasis is on slavery. After all, they need a divided nation to make completion of their take over easier. When will we wake up to the truth? The problem with America is the Progressives, their thoughts and ideas which have done almost terminal damage to this country. While I defend their right to free speech, you must know the truth to put the lie to what they say.
By the way, Vidal’s book on Lincoln was almost as good a read as “Mein Kampf”, If you want a struggle, try reading Hitlers book.

if this person thinks that the civil war was exclusively about slavery then why did most of pres. Lincoln‘s speeches talk about bringing the union back together not until 1862 after the battle of Antietam when the north was assured that the british or the french would not entervene on the south’s benefit

It is so sad to hear this kind of trash. This interviewer was in politics for 42 years? I guess that is a good example of what has been going on that this country is now starting to realize. America is AN EXCEPTIONAL COUNTRY and they want to convince others that it is not. If we weren’t, we would be doing a Chavez or Amadinahjad on people like them. WIPE THEM OUT! Instead, they are allowed to spew their vitriolic propaganda because this country is and has been exceptional. It may be going in the wrong direction at the moment, but Nov. 2 shows that a sleeping giant is awake now and will be taking the country back to it’s former greatness. I say former as it has suffered from Obalmy and the Damocrats and that is about to end. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL OF HER TRUE PATRIOTS!!!!

Sadly I suspect this victory to be short lived unless we really wake up as a nation. We have totally forsaken that which made us great….

With forty percent of people receiving some sort of benefit from the government, I suspect the fight to regain control from the left is going to take a truly serious effort. Too many people are being bought and paid for at working families expense. Until the truth is really made public and people can be convinced of it, they’re likely to keep buying the propaganda of the pigs that have defiled this nation.

American exceptionalism, yeah whatever happened to that?

Oh yes, the teachers stopped talking about it in our schools.

Parents got too busy trying to pay the bills to stay home and teach their children about this great nation.

American got so successful that we developed a luxury problem, and things like national pride took the back seat.

The country now is not the country I grew up in, nor the one you used to read about in books, or saw in movies and on tv.

There is a line drawn in the sand now. It was said before and holds true now:

The almost impossibel task of defeating the British in the Revolutionary War was only made possible as Washington stated by Providential intervention. Because God played a role in our survival, we came to believe there must be a reason – that reason is America’s Exceptionalism. This country with all its flaws as Ronald Reagan has said is man’s last great hope, the shinning city on a hill. It has done more for humanity than any other force in the world. These people hate their country under the guise of loving it.

I agree, except Lincoln has done more damage to the United States than any other president in history – including this current refugee from Uranus. The Civil War was NOT a civil war. The South should not have been prevented from seceding. It was their right to do so. Nowhere in the constitution is there anything that prevents a State from leaving. The “Union” was no Holy Grail of human political achievement, and should Texas or Alaska choose to flee this moribund conglomeration of idiots I would gladly join forces with them.

A 2 year campaign to make the people believe Obama is an enemy of the country. What about the 8 year campaign against George Bush? That doesn‘t count of course because it was a truthful campaign in the Marxist’s mind. And voicing the belief that our country should not have been saved by Lincoln? Do these idiots realize that would also have extended slavery what 50, 100 years? The American people have come awake not been blinded by Obama’s critics. Remember fascism is just a narrow form of Marxism. He is more a fascist than a communist but there is no difference between them. They are both anti freedom as is Obama. Obama no matter where he was born was raised by communists, associated his whole life with the far left and can not now face the fact that his grossly radical ideas are rejected by the American people. You leftist scum are finally being exposed for what you are, anti-American all the way. God has Blessed America and He is the one that has exposed Obama and his far left crowd for what they are. e has forced them to expose them self thinking we were ready for Marxism/Fascism. Even God allows mankind to seek their will, the ability to choose; in what the left seeks to install upon us is nothing more than bondage, a nearly complete removal of those liberties granted to us by our creator.

I was pleased to see this remark. I have said for sometime I could not understand how the Democrats had-have such a strong effect upon these Americans when the Dems were only continuing to keep our fellow citizens in chains–albeit a different kind, but still chains of subjugation.Entitlement propagation a biggie. Our Black Americans (and other Americans) have proven time and time again their intellect, innovation, patriotism etc. To many, however, have succumbed to the clarion call-the progressives are subjugating all citizens now. Slavery has been a problem through millenia, either through conquest, colonialization or other factors in any nation of the world. The Constitution skirted the issue,(it was a huge bone of contention) but, in forming the nation, slavery was allowed to flourish. (If you have not visited the Black Quill and Ink site, please do so-there is some great info here to my way of thinking)
I will not pretend to be a scholar on this issue, but I felt highlighting your comment is important to reflect on. The clip is only valuable in stimulating reflection on words spoken which it accomplished. thank you

To set the record straight, we have not been a capitalist society for fifty years or more. Socialist infiltration has been working at least that long. Since capitalism and socialism cannot co-exist in the same space, we must be considered a socialist society, (one cannot be slightly pregnant). With that said, what is failing right now is socialism.

All should read “Uncle Sam’s Plantation: How Big Government Enslaves America’s Poor and What We Can Do About It” by Star Parker (A Conservative Black Woman). She was a liberal on the government dole and learned that entotlements lead to modern versions of slavery. The more you spiral downward- the more you get. This book is a real eye opener on what ALL communities of ALL color need to know about their government and how to NOT just take, take, take!
Lincoln was in all arguments good and bad- good for creating a strong union and freeing slaves- bad for being the only President to declare war on his own people and taking away states rights. When the slaves were freed- they became slaves in an altogether different way- the Government now owned them and it continues to this very day!
Some day- some way- Dr ML King Jr.’s dream will come true- all will be free. But this will never happen until we all learn that the government is not the answer- just another master we all serve.

…Government of the people, by the people, for the people… A. Lincoln

Gore Vidal is for lack of a better word, senile.

BTW the Emancipation Proclamation ended slavery in the Southern states post Civil War, not the Northern ones (though there were only 2 or 3 of them that still allowed it). Unfortunately, states rights were diminished post Civil War. To date, I believe the right to secede from the Union is reserved only by Texas. Anyway, we need to keep familys together and relearn family values so we can retain individual responsibility and individuality. These are things that are lost when we are enslaved whether it be by chains of iron or chains of debt. Only the elites come out on top if we lose our individuality.

To answer some questions here, the founders were very torn about the issue of slavery. in order to make America, pre revolution, many compromises had to be made. Most founders despised the institution of slavery, including some southern delagates, but in order for The United States to exist, bargains had to be made. What they came up with is the 3/5ths clause, which meant that all slaves, and all Native Indians not taxed, counted as 3/5ths of a citizen for the census. This was NOT meant to deminish the status of slaves as humans, but to diminish the power of southern slave holding states in the house and senate….And all this was done because the founders believed, wrongly, that slavery, under a constitution which states “all men are created equal’, would eventually die on it’s own under the weight of integrity.
When the first shots were fired at Ft. Sumner, Lincoln violated the 10th amendment, and did so throughout the war. He did not fight the war initially to free the slaves; this was the furthest from his thinking. The southern states threatened, and got secession by THEIR RIGHTS UNDER THE 10TH AMENDMENT. They were being forced by the federal government to act against their will. Remember folks, this country was founded as a Federation of States, bound in common will under a Federal umbrella. Under the founders version of the constitution, we were sovereign STATES.
Although Lincoln did what eventual HAD to be done in this country to abolish slavery, he did so at the cost of the 10th amendment. Slavery was an evil thing which cost hundreds of thousands of American lives to end, and SHOULD have ended on the floors of congress. The only thing Lincoln did wrong was to NOT address the rape of the 10th amendment, and NOT act to restore it stonger than it was before. THAT would have been true reconstruction, but our arrogant victors failed to even address that issue.
I hope this was informative, and i hope you all read into this. Like Beck says, do yer own damn homework…don’t believe me. And don’t look in any modern textbooks for these historical facts. They are all full of lies and modernist propaganda.

And in case there is question, this is cut/pasted here, the exact verbage of the 10th amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
State’s rights, which are being horrible ignored right now. This is a simple sentence, created thus to be very simple in interpretation. Powers not given to the fed in the constitution are given to the several states to decide. Period. Ask California weed growers if that amendment still applies when the DEA crashes their doors when the are, by state law, legally allowed to grow medicinal marijuana on their property.
