BBC to Air ‘Life of Muhammad’ Doc, Iran Responds Saying ‘Enemy’ Trying to ‘Ruin Muslims’ Sanctity’

"The Life of Muhammad" host Rageh Omaar
Controversy is swirling over an upcoming biographical documentary series on the life of Islam’s premiere prophet. The film, which is aptly titled, “The Life of Muhammad,” will be aired by the BBC2 later this month. Although it has yet to be viewed by Iranian authorities (or the public at large, for that matter), some government officials are already outraged about it.
The series, which will be broken into three parts, will be presented by Rageh Omaar, a Middle Eastern correspondent for Al Jazeera English. According to The Guardian’s Riazat Butt, the show’s host has some attributes that perfectly situate him to delve deeply into the subject matter:
…he’s a familiar face, an experienced television broadcaster and, crucially, he‘s Muslim so he can reach parts that infidels can’t. Some of the filming takes place in the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina, where non-Muslims are forbidden are going.
When reading over information that has been presented about the film and considering that it has yet to be seen, it is difficult to understand the angst the Iranian government is feeling over its impending release. In a press release announcing the film, BBC describes it as following:
In a journey that is both literal and historical. Rageh Omaar travels to the place of Muhammad’s birth to re-trace the actual footsteps of the Prophet; from humble beginnings in Mecca, to his struggles with accepting his Prophetic role, his flight to Medina, to the founding of the first Islamic constitution, and his subsequent military and political successes and failures – through to his death and his legacy.
This description, itself, seems benign, but Mohammad Hosseini, Iran’s culture minister, claims that he has serious concerns about the film. Last month, he spoke to Iran’s Fars news agency, saying (via The Guardian):
“The BBC’s decision to make a documentary on the life of [the] prophet Muhammad seems dubious and if our suspicions are proved to be correct, we will certainly take serious action.
What the enemy is trying to do in ruining the Muslims’ sanctity is definitely much more than causing us to react and unfortunately, some Islamic countries are not taking this issue seriously. One way to show objections is to express condemnation of the West over their despicable actions.”
Some claim that Iran, which has a population that is predominately Shia, may be worried that the documentary will present a strictly Sunni review of Muhammad’s life. But, the BBC has squelched these fears, as the network has confirmed that experts from both sides were included in the film’s creation.
How the nation’s leaders will react once the three-part serious is aired is yet to be determined, but their pledge to “take serious action” is their “suspicions are proved to be correct” is certainly concerning.

It’s hard to ignore her as she figures very prominently in Muslim history, being Muhammad‘s favorite and the daughter of the first Caliph after Muhammad’s death. But the Shia don’t like her very much as their Imams are descended from Fatima, Muhammad’s daughter from his first wife Khadijah.

Tradition says she was six when married and nine or ten when it was consumated. Many today cannot get around that, even though it was not considered wrong or abhorent in the day. Most people do not know how young girls were marrued off back then. Jewish law put the minimum age at thirteen. Christian tradition in the same period put it at twelve. Go read Romeo and Juliet and you will find that Juliet was thirteen and already thinking she should be married by then. Muslim law had no minimum number, only that the girl had to have reached puberty. So, technically, Muhammad can’t be accused of child molestation by the strict definitions of the day. if Aisha was menstruating by nine or ten she was of legal age. Times change. The Bible says zip on this subject.
It’s all academic to me. There are far worse things about Muhammad then his wife’s age. Mandating religious slaughter and oppression is a little higher in my book.

Up until this time Mohammed used a technique of “thighing”. The penis is inserted between thighs which are pressed together. As long as the hymen is undamaged, no offense has occurred.
This may not have been the only acceptable sex act. In about 1972 the Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran issued a fatwa:
“A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction.”
Having similar sex acts with a boy who has not yet reached puberty is also allowed. These include: fondling of genitals, masturbation with the child as either participant or observer, oral sex, anal or ******* penetration by penis, finger or any other object.
These are cultural differenced sanctioned in the Holy Koran as revealed by Mohammed and confirmed by religious leaders. This is something that needs to be accepted by the non-believers before their convers

It will probably be spun and not show the evil it is, and that may make me sound as if I am agaisnt the good muslim people, but as I have said in the past, show me muslims who speak out against the killing, stoning etc, and prove they are “peacefull” muslims and I will feel different toward muslim people. At least I will feel different to a small percentage. If this is supposed to put a good face on Islam, good luck, the silence from“good” muslims is deafening.

The lawyer for the Hawaii Department of Health sent a courtesy reply that they were required to respond to an illegal supoena. The Social Security Administration is not required to respond to a civil lawsuit. A majority of people believe Obama is not a natural born citizen but can’t do much about it because of the widespread corruption and cronyism in the government.
