Beck Breaks Down ‘Day of Rage’: Is Youthful Wisdom & Passion Overrated?

I keep wondering what on earth do American youth have to be “raging” about?? They live in the most prosperous nation, living off their parents, with cars, iPhones, iPads, iiiEverything else! Good grief! Drop them off in Haiti, or Iran, or Afghanistan if they want to “rage” about how unfair life is!

So in a word is youthful wisdom overrated? Yes!

Youthful wisdom… now there’s an oxymoron! LOL Like I used to tell my sons and their friends when they were growing up… “you are a walking hormone… before you run off and tell each other that sounds good, check with your mama, ok?”

I’m always amused to see the dichotomy in calling for a day of “rage” to supposedly promote all this peace and love and hope. And the prevailing theme always seems to be “bimme, gimme, gimme” instead of GIVING.

News flash to the young: if you want a job, get your hiney out of bed, dress up cleanly and neatly and get an education, skills and work hard to be worth something to somebody else and GIVE your best effort. If you want “peace” be respectful and peaceful and decent yourself- give COURTESY and respect to “others”.

If you want justice, and free speech, and a “voice”, allow others to speak as opposed to shouting them down at events. If you want your religious beliefs tolerated, tolerate others as opposed to ripping the clothes off a female reporter and raping her and beating her up in a crowd.

If you want prosperity, don’t destroy capitalism, the means of production. And if you think you want socialism, go live for awhile in, say, North Korea and try it out first, then get back to us.

In other words, don’t be a damned fool.

I was in college in the Spring of 1969. There were class-stopping demonstrations by students against something – war? Something. I attended an SDS meeting that day. Organizer dude spoke red book politics. My take on the SDS that day was that they were idiots. I have not changed my opinion.

All I’ve heard for the last 20 years is how test scores are dropping as we spend more and more on education. If today’s youth is so stinking smart, why are test scores so low. How smart can a generation be when they cover themselves in tattoos and piercings like primative tribesman? Learn how to govern yourselves before you start trying to govern the world.

I saw the show, it’s pretty underhanded that they would use the kids, but …

I also remember attending “peace rallies” back in the late ‘60 … my reason for being there?.. to pick up chicks. You spend a couple hours marching and protesting, and it was really easy to bed one/two?.. 1970 I joined the Marine Corps and went to war …

I‘m sure kids don’t have the wisdom that comes with age, but their not as dumb as they may seem sometimes …

      The wisdom of youth?
Did immature minds come up with that one?
A few years ago a study came out which concluded that teenagers are mentally unbalanced. Having raised a few and acquainted with many during the time I was raising my own I know this to be true.
Is this the wisdom of which they speak?
Another “study” recently cited that young people don’t develop good judgement skills until they are in their twenties.
Again I ask, is this the wisdom of youth they are banking on?
I rolled in laughter at these “studies” and then I was angered by their ability to get grant money for such ridiculous causes.

I remember vaguely there was a demonstration planned and organized about 2 years or so ago for a student demonstration against the war. I remember hearing that so many students signed up for it(thousands) that there was a consideration to cancel classes that day. (I wish I could remember where this was). For some reason the demonstration was postponed to Saturday instead of Friday. About 100 kids showed up! It appeared the main reason for most of them to attend such a rally was to cut classed that day not to protest the war. I wouldn‘t expect much of a turnout on March 12 unless they’re giving free beer. It’s a Saturday! HA HA!

Talk about confused-“stand up for peace and hope” on day of rage. Stand up for jobs- as they demand their freebies. Climate change- going green-good grief!

I have a 18yo son in the house- if you were to ask him what he would like for dinner- he would say he did not know. But as a typical kid he seems to think that he is an expert at whatever his interests are at the moment. I am looking forward to down the road when he is in my position- I hope he has a half doz boys of his own! Got to get into the real world to know whats going on and perspective does change as time passes.
We have raised our kids away from public school and they don’t fall for the garbage. The oldest 2 are now having to attend the local community college- filled with liberal profs. We are thankful the the solid education they have had growing up. Until the public education system is cleaned up(sanitized) and activists booted out, this will continue to go on. The same goes with our government!

The youth of today have been indoctrinated at their Colleges and Universities, that Capitalism is a bad thing. Of course, it is not. Capitalism is what made the USA the best Country to live in – in the entire World.

Just yesterday, reports came out of Cuba that their Communist/Socialist government is failing. They had to fire many of their government employees because there just was too many people who are employed by the Cuban government.

This is why Communist/Socialist governments never work.

People who are in the employ of the government, are an expense or cost to the government they are employed by.

Others, who are not employed by the government, are producing goods and services, upon which “taxes” are collected, and are “income” to a government.

It is only commonsense to realize that the bigger the government grows – the bigger the expense. The smaller the government is, the income of a Nation increases. This is not too hard to understand.

      I would correct your statement.

The bigger a government grows the more it costs. The smaller it is the less it costs.
You can’t conclude that it necessarily means the economy is better, or whatever you mean by “ income of a nation”.
That would imply a nation with no government somehow had a higher GDP.

      @ Deutscher,

Maybe I didn’t express myself well enough. The reality is that I commanded a very successful business, that I started in my early twenties. I was blessed with a high level of intelligence, and learned anything I needed to know at a very fast pace. Your comment that a Country without any government at all would have a higher GDP is just stupid.

Government needs to be “LIMITED” in it’s scope for success to happen. Why in the World do we have all these social programs in the USA? The Federal Government’s main purpose is to protect the USA from attack and invasion from other Nations. That’s why we have a military force.

All this crap of social welfare programs, is just that: crap. The Federal government’s job is to protect us from foreign invasion. The States can take care of the social programs as needed for their State.

Gotta agree with Deutscher here. A smaller government is no guarantee of a booming economy, although less government regulation of the economy will tend to promote greater innovation and not stifle entrepreneurship. Even then, though, you will still have periods of recession (remember the Kondratieff cycle).

Deutscher, one can conclude using past examples that as government loosen it’s grip private industry flurishes and thus the nation income increases. Just as one can conclude that when government interferes with a private incoming via taxes, rules, and regulations it slowly chokes the industry costing jobs and creating both lose of tax revenues from those that did have jobs and increase burdens on the government via tyhe social programs for those who lose their jobs.
It‘s not advanced economic theory I’m posting it’s common sense with a proven track record throughout history.

Your words speak the truth found in iron. Pretenders that stand on a soapbox preachin snake oil have no iron in their words. This debate of how much government or little one needs has been documented. 200+Years ago. The edge of ‘not enough government’ is much like the sharp edge of a ceramic knife. If a citizen abuses this knife edge banging against an immovable rock, the skill required to repair the edge is way beyond the citizen.

Interesting: In preparation for the World Youth Peace Summit, participants will be required to prepare a draft of a Pathways to Peace project. Some Pathways to Peace initiatives will focus on such large scale issues as poverty, nuclear proliferation and the environment. Others will be community-based, social entrepreneurship programs involving some project that fosters peace, such as juvenile justice, conflict resolution, non-violence, youth sports programs, mentoring and civil rights.

Let’s face it young revolutionaries are great at toppling governments but they are not great at picking up the pieces and governing. And they are certainly not great at understanding what the ramifications of their actions might be.

There have been 300+ people killed in these protests that the government MSM doesn’t want to tell you about. They also don’t want to tell you that some of these protestors were holding up the iconic black and red Obama posters of Mubarak with “NO YOU CAN’T” on them. Of course, that wouldn’t fit the narrative of the Obama MSM now, would it?

Since the Egyptian government has been toppled they have dissolved the Constitution, allowed the Muslim Brotherhood a foot in the door and they’re now demanding that women and Christians be banned from being in the parliament. Sounds like real progress to me.

Democracy is “mob rule” and that is why our Founders made America a Republic.

It has since been revealed that our U.S. State Department and at least two Google executives and AYM and the April 6th Movement and the Islamic Radicals have been involved in orchestrating this overthrow of the Mubarak government.

It is not an accident that the Flotilla incident and now the overthrow of the Egyptian government, an ally no matter what you may think of Mubarak who kept his promise of keeping peace with Israel, has happened under Obama’s watch.

Obama has succeeded in alienating every ally of America in the short term he has been in office. His foreign policy is a disaster, and the Middle East is now on fire.

When he signed the START Treaty with Russia he revealed the nuclear arsenal of the UK as one of Russia’s prerequisites to signing this treaty that not only betrayed our longtime ally, Britain, but also has made America weaker.

Here is Niall Ferguson’s assessment where he says in no uncertain terms that Obama blew it on Egypt:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9sMo-LTdSc&feature=player_embedded

It is no wonder that Beck is saying that the young revolutionaries are not the ones to determine what is best for the majority of the Egyptians, 82 million of them, who had no say in the overthrow of their government and the slaughter of 300 people and the dissolving of their Egyptian Constitution.

What is amazing is that over and over and over again the story line goes that this was a “peaceful” bending of the moral arc of history….. NOT>>> As noted above: 300 people died, many were injuried, property was destroyed. Anarchy reigned in the streets. IT WAS NOT PEACEFUL. Thank God that more were not killed and injured.

Regarding the “youth”….yes, I remember when I was 16 and 17. “Earth day” had just been created and yes, I was passionate. Vietnam was raging. I was passionate. “Passion” is not bad. It is when those who know how deliberately manipulate the passion of youth for evil purposes that it becomes bad. Yes, I also thought that I knew all the answers and knew more than my parents. “Wisdom” comes with age. As I grew up I realized that fact that I knew less and less and that was when I began to seek to learn more about the things I didn’t know. Don’t criticize the “youth” for their passion. What they need is to be offered the “wisdom” of those older than them…They are looking for someone to lead them. They have their professors… and the militants…. and the anarchists. That’s because those are the people that are “hellbent” on twisting their passions into destructive anarchy. Instead of criticizing them for their passion…offer them your wisdom. Together our future freedoms will be guaranteed. Without the passion and commitment of the ‘youth’ THEIR future will be tyranny!

So who is funding this group? Who is backing it? Is it safe to say this group is another member of the Alphabet Organized Crime Family? I think we all were dopes in this age range only difference is we didnt have a Pres with radical ties encouraging us to be know-it-alls! The bigger problem as some point out is indoctrination in the schools too. But whose fault is it really, the schools or parents for not knowing whats being taught to their children?

You have to start getting involved and find this out regardless of age times have changed… trust no one not even schools. Kids need to be taught more about the US and less on other nations and they should be educated by people who know to leave their political agenda at the door.

Its on us to fix things and it starts with finding out who is behind the indoctrination or organizing these events like the one Beck pointed out in a few weeks. Im sure we wont be surprised to see who is behind it!

Hate to say it but there aren’t alot of youth that have wisdom, most of them just think they are smarter than the older generation that has lived long enough to have wisdom. Generally they are still on the dole from their parents and are clueless about life. The ones that have wisdom have worked since they were old enough, paid taxes, sustained themselves and have had a hearty dose of reality; and even then, some still wear rose colored glasses. “Forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do.”

I challenge these youths to emancipate themselves from the parents that are holding them back since they have all the answers. If they are so much more intellectually mature, then they should be able to fend for themselves. Like I told my children before they graduated college, they can protest the government on their dime; not mine. Live under my roof, follow my rules. We were all that age and can relate to all the “newly discovered knowledge” we had. We thought we were blazing trails when we were just clearing the leaves from a well trodden path.

BREAKING NEWS: I was just informed by my youngest daughter that she is now an avid viewer of Glenn Beck! It proves my theory that in my battle with their teachers over the years regarding their displeasure with how my children challenge group think curriculum and assignments, that I was victorious and they failed!. This is a direct result of being an active participant in my children’s education.
