Beck Calls Out Jon Stewart After Oakland Riots: Still ‘Down’ With Occupy Wall Street?

Glenn Beck called out Jon Stewart the day after Occupy Oakland riots rocked the California city, asking whether the Comedy Central host is still “down” with movement.

Earlier this month, Stewart compared the Occupy protesters to the Tea Party, leveling the charge: “Look, if this thing devolves into throwing trash cans into Starbucks windows, nobody’s going to be down with that … but these protesters, how are they not like the Tea Party?”

“It wasn’t a trash can, it was chairs and Molotov cocktails and it was a Whole Foods,” Beck said, referencing the violence and damage in Oakland. “Are you cool with that? Are you down with that? I know it’s not a Starbucks, but are you cool with a Whole Foods getting a chair through the window?”

Meanwhile, police in Oakland said no arrests have been made after a car struck two pedestrians during the massive demonstration, also a topic of discussion on Beck’s program.

Witnesses said the driver of a silver Mercedes had a green light but that his path was blocked by a crowd of protesters flooding the streets. Accounts differed as to whether he appeared to purposely accelerate into the crowd in frustration or was provoked by swarming demonstrators pounding on his car.

Two protesters, a man and a woman, were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening leg and ankle injuries, BART Police Deputy Chief Daniel Hartwig told the San Francisco Chronicle.

BART police detained the driver on the scene for a short time for questioning before releasing him, prompting outrage from demonstrators who had surrounded his car and screamed at him. They then turned on the police, chanting “Bullsh*t! Bullsh*t!”

The matter has been turned over to the Oakland Police Department for additional investigation, Hartwig said.

“It was a pretty volatile situation,” he said. “There is no arrest at this time, but that doesn‘t mean there won’t be if there’s a need for an arrest.”

Still images of the collision, which was captured on video, show the progression of events.

That’s a little harsh. Come on now, we’re not the ones who resort to mob violence, Occupy Oakland is doing enough of that. Occupy Denver, Chicago, NY, and DC will be next, not us.

He was trying to get through. I don’t condone the acceleration, but I don’t think he meant to harm them. Someone aggressively blocking you and beating on your car for no reason is scary—the reason he was probably let go is he was probably afraid of what these nutcases would do. Simple…set up a Youtube video…show the footage of Stewart and his ridiculous schtick about “starbucks” and the date it was aired… then show the footage of the stinky OWSers firebombing and vandalizing and the date it happened..then put up on the screen exactly what Beck asked. Make Stewart face his own elitist buffoonery.
What gets me is that these elitist clods like Stewart simply ignore precendent and buy into the propaganda. These lefty rallies ALWAYS devolve into violence. I don‘t care if it’s 70 in a crowd of 7000 or 7…they ALWAYS end up destroying private property and putting lives at risk they ALWAYS get violent. What part of that eludes blowhard, “I’m smarter than you” elitist twits like Stewart?

Beck “calls out” John Stewart. What a laugh. The title should read “Beck meekly attacks John Stewart from behind the safety of his microphone and then indirectly, though The Blaze”. Beck knows good and well he would not survive a head to head debate with Stewart so even though ratings would be good, we won’t ever see that match-up. Bill O‘Reilly had Stewart on his show and O’Reilly has been on Stewart’s, but would Mr. Courage Beck ever do this? Of course not.

For a man with the truth, facts, and courage on his side, Mr. Beck will never put himself out there against an opposing view face to face. What are you afraid of, Glenn? You’re all bark and no bite.

Someone should remind Jon that you reap what you sow. These out-of-control lowlifes in the “Occupy Whatever” movement were created and now encouraged by people just like him. The progressives have brainwashed our young to believe that the end justifies the means. They have nurtured the idea that it is just fine to break laws if it gets you what you want.

These protesters have a huge sense of entitlement thanks to the infiltration of socialism into our education system since the late 1960′s. They grew up blaming everyone else for their failures. It is easier to do that rather than actually work hard for their own success.

And now these malcontents are demanding more and more, only now they are adding an element of violence to their demands. So if they destroy property and riot in the streets, then the progressives are getting just what they deserve. The only problem is that the rest of us are paying for it as well.

This happened to me once. I was driving through a ghetto neighborhood after picking up a package at Fedex across the street. I stopped at a red light. I saw a young man and woman approaching the intersection on foot. The light turned green. The woman stopped to wait. The man looked at the green light and walked right out in front of me. I waited for them, missing the green light. As the man passed in front of my vehicle, he walked around to the passenger side and began kicking my car door.

I have ZERO sympathy for the people in this video. They got what was coming to them!

      Well said!
These fools think they can do anything they want, including stopping traffic and pounding on this man’s car. The driver has no way to know what might come next, it could have been a mob attack, carjacking stunt, anything. I think it can well be argued he gave ample opportunity to let the people clear, they choose to be on the losing side of the law of gross tonnage, and got what they had coming to them.
Then the idiots are upset at the proper actions of police, trying even to stop the police car! They are BEGGING for a beat down, and if they keep this up, it will be coming.

Jon Stewart knows exactly what he is doing. He makes his money on these kinds of stories and believe me, he will not venture out in the streets of Oakland in person. He’ll sit behind his desk and make wise cracks at those of us who know this is wrong.

Speaking of the car incident, does every one remember the name Reginald Denny? He was the guy that was pulled from his truck in LA after the Rodney King verdict and almost beaten to death by a bunch of thugs that were blocking the road. One of his attackers was nick named “football”. anyway this thug threw a concrete block into the face of Mr. Denny several times and celebrated like he had won the superbowl. So, no, I won’t be stopping for the thugs. I’ll grease up my tires with their worthless azzes. Isn’t it kinda funny though, the guy that tried to stop the driver in Oakland woke up in the hospital wondering what happened. Now that’s cool. Shoulda got more of ‘em.

Most Apple products are over-priced, IMO, but I can’t afford even an iPad. Most of these 20-something-people are there for the party atmosphere and rebellion. they could care less about the cause, as long as they get some attention.

It continues: “Let ‘them’ oppose the people’s demands. Let Ketchup Soros and the others join up with the 0.1% in opposing our demands and we‘ll see how long they’ll be able to strangle the GA.”
      SOROS, ketchup hmmmmmmmmm
KS has more than GS connections, check the Obama election committee as well. Keep digging, the whole is fathomless.
I wonder if Ketchup is there to keep an eye on George’s investment in OWS?

And love the typical elitist from old Rose Ellen with this “half-whatever…“ all boils down to half baked wackos who love to ”alinsky” anyone who does not agree with them. Typical “good job” kids who grew up with a much bigger sense of self worth than earned. So brainwashed but so self assured.

Looks like self defence to me – or do we not have the right to protect ourselves and property from harm? The police should have made a mock arrest and let him go once they were well away from the mob so they would forget and move on to terrorize the next… whatever.

Of course Stewert still supports them. You can’t be a good democrat if you get squeamish when large mobs erupt into violence. Every democrat knows this is what their world view leads to in the end. They have to support it or be proven intellectual idiots. History always repeats itself.

Typical Progressive Liberals: They consider violent attacks, rapes and property damage OK when they’re giving it out, but are incenses when they’re getting the short end of the stick.

I haven’t heard from President Marxist or Pigloski lately about their support for the OWS movement. About all I can think is that without any NEW statement that they’re standing by their previous statements of support.

Conclusion: Violence in support of Progressive Liberal policies is fine and supported by Demoncratic leaders.

Police did the right thing – now the guy that hit the hood should pay for damages – In America we have the right to protect ourselves – I don’t care what the Protestor and Chief says nor do I care what these Fleabaggers think.

Remember Reginald Denny – he did not want to run over the people in front of him and he got beat up badly. Put it in Drive and hit the gas.
