Beck Calls Sec. Clinton’s Promoting Al Jazeera ‘Insanity’

Here’s a head scratcher.  Why would our Secretary of State use her testimony before the U.S. Foreign Policy Committee to promote Al Jazeera TV?  Glenn Beck shares his analysis:

The madness did not stop at Mrs. Clinton’s shilling for Al Jazeera.  Secretary Clinton waded further into the deep end of the crazy pool when she placed blame for America’s bad image abroad on fake TV wrestling and Baywatch.

America has a bad image abroad because of wrestling and Baywatch?  It doesn’t make sense, but she said it, it happened.

The Secretary’s testimony was reportedly an effort to justify her budget request for the State Department, but she used a rather odd example to make her case.  Hillary Clinton’s words:

Our private media, particularly cultural programming often works at counter purposes to what we truly are as Americans. I remember having an Afghan general tell me that the only thing he thought about Americans is that all the men wrestled and the women walked around in bikinis because the only TV he ever saw was Baywatch and World Wide Wrestling.

While this part of the story seems to have escaped the watchful eyes of the mainstream media here in America,  the eagle-eyed wrestling reporters have grabbed it and are climbing the top rope in order to effectively body-slam Secretary Clinton for her demonizing of their “sport” as they remind her that she must be suffering from an obvious memory failure.  It was less than three years ago that then-candidate Clinton made an appearance on the same kind of programming that she testified against.  The actual replay from April of 2008:

    Has anyone ever WATCHED Al Jazeera? They are an intelligent source of news. Unlike the ridiculous propograndistic drivel that passes for news at Fox.

    I am a conservative and I would take Al Jazeera over Fox any day. They are more like PBS documentaries showing what is happening in other parts of the world.

    Get out of your echo chamber people. It’s your only hope of revelation that you are being brainwashed.

      I watch Al Jazeera on Youtube. They cover stories like the Pakistani government going after the Taliban. And they go WITH the Pakistani soldiers who are FIGHTING the Taliban.

      I‘ve never seen a show on that network promoting the kind of ’Allah Ahkbar’ type of fanatacism that readers hear assume.

      Maybe you should do yourself a favor and actually listen to something other than Beck/Fox. There is a whole world of media outside of the left-right paradigm.

      The problem is that Al Jazeera has exposed the identities of christians before, in places like pakistan…where christianity is heavily persecuted. You can’t trust the english version, as they will try and appear western-friendly. Learn about Taqqiya, as it will probably open your eyes. Al Jazeera has been known to support terrorist groups and false anti-American propaganda. The irony is that Americans are now calling it “Real” news…what a crazy world we live in :)

    How can we have any faith in trusting this women, she’s told us in how many ways that she supports a New World Order, and she and her husband have worked tirelessly towards that end. As long as people like Hilary abd Bill are involved in any form of decision making or advising this country we’re all in danger.
    Where are the Patriots within our government, when will someone stand up for America and arrest these people who are destroying our country?       It is truly amazing that anyone can support Hillary Clinton. Do a search on Hillary for President in 2012. There are useful idiots out there who actually would like her to be President . . . it is almost like a celebrity fan club type thing. It is weird to see the disconnect these people have . . . most are against Obama, as they see him as “stealing” the election from Clinton, but yet they support Clinton. They don’t seem to be able to connect the “dots” between Clinton and Obama. And, defend her as saying she is loyal to the Democratic Party and she “loves” her country. And, she better be the first woman President. Sadly, these people will never see Clinton for what she really is, just another “student” of Saul Alinsky, just like this current President.

      Oh hell no! I didn’t see that one coming, before… another “I want to be a part of History” mania sweeping her into office right behind him. Obama got in, largely on being the first black president. We cannot survive another proggie, (s)Hill will only advance the same agenda.

      Has anyone here actually watched Al Jazeera ? They don’t seem Anti-American or even too anti Israel for that matter. The best straight world news out there, and I’ll say it again, Al Jazeeras showing the modern world could be the middle east best hope for change and modernity, why do you think the radical Islamists hate Al Jazeera ! They do have some programs with some bias, but not that much, like American news channels. FOX is my news channel of choice, but when I want world news, especially now with the middle east countries falling one by one, I go right to Al Jazeera.

      RLTW, As an interested watcher of the news and world events, the American news channels are at times lacking, and Al Jazeera is a great world news source. Nobody is forcing anyone to watch anything, it’s yours and my choice. I just want all the information I can get, and I get a lot of world news you never see on FOX or CNN.

      I did say that Al Jazeera is maybe the best hope for the radical Islamic world as they are very modern and show the modern western world as it is, the good the bad and the ugly, but mostly good it seems. It does seem though that most posters on this thread have never watched Al Jazeera.

      surfing: after reading your multiple posts telling us how great aljeez is and not having experience with anti-American/Israel rhetoric while viewing, i’m quite confident you are watching aljeez America, which isn’t the same the r.o.p. are watching in their countries; and since they’re just “nudging” their foot in the door here in the States, with the help of the admin., they’re not going to be so bold as to scream their true “anti” twisted thinking over the airways; but, i am also confident, since i have “experienced” this with aljeez America while viewing, that there is r.o.p. drival eminating from their broadcasts; you just have to know it when you hear it.

      So Hillary’s knowledge about how foreigners all around the world view America comes from this one Afghan ?

      FOX is my news station of choice, but have been watching CNN and Al Jazeera since Egypt and the rest of the region has been blowing up. I find Al Jazeera to be a very good world news channel, in fact they seem less anti American and more moderate than MSMBC. I will go so far as saying that Al Jazeera is probably the best hope for the middle east and the rest of the Muslim world because they show the modern world, good looking women reporters who are not covered up in a burka and everything else the modern western world has to offer. Was actually surprised at first, but Al Jazeera is one of the best news channels out there, so I agree with Hiillery Clinton for once.
