‘Is Maybe One Term Enough?’: New Video Reveals ‘The Road We’ve Really Traveled’

The Obama administration is pulling out all the stops in its bid to convince Americans it has led the country down the right path — one of prosperity and fulfillment. In fact, a recently released “docu-ganda“ titled ”The Road We’ve Traveled,” paid a 17-minute-long homage to the president, painting him as a flawless savior who rescued America from the plight caused by the “unsavory” Bush administration. To make matters worse, The Blaze reported that the film’s title, along with it’s central theme, have some dubious roots to say the least.
And if one looks only at the headlines featured in mainstream media, it would be difficult to refute the flowery narrative this Obama campaign short film portrays.
So how do Americans assess the road we’ve really traveled?
One video has been released that tells us:
The video reveals that if a more earnest picture of the modern-day U.S. were painted, it would show a number of “inconvenient truths,” including: a ravaged housing market, an S&P downgrade to the nation’s credit rating for the first time in history, “out of control spending,” record-high levels of Americans at poverty level and on food stamps, soaring unemployment rates, and vast increases in the national debt and gas prices. The list goes on…
Currently:
- Unemployment has risen 7.8% — 8.3% on average
- The National Deficit has risen $10.7 — $15.3 Trillion
- Gas prices have risen $1.84 on average
- 7.7 Million foreclosures
- A record 46.2 Million at poverty level
- 46.1 Million on food stamps
Yet, as the video highlights, the president continues to engage in what many feel is class warfare, insisting the wealthiest Americans “pay their fair share” through tax increases, and even suggesting that working Americans needn’t hesitate to “give up some of [their] bonuses and compensation.”
President Obama consistently passes blame for the abysmal economy on his predecessor, saying George W. Bush led Americans down the “wrong road” — which leads many to ask: Then why are we still on it?
But, whichever road Americans have been traveling on, 70% say it’s the wrong one.
The video also reiterates a question Diane Sawyer once posed to the president during an interview: “Is maybe one term enough?”

The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office.
The latest posting from the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department shows the National Debt now stands at $15.566 trillion. It was $10.626 trillion on President Bush’s last day in office, which coincided with President Obama’s first day.
The National Debt also now exceeds 100% of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, the total value of goods and services.
Mr. Obama has been quick to blame his predecessor for the soaring Debt, saying Mr. Bush paid for two wars and a Medicare prescription drug program with borrowed funds.
The federal budget sent to Congress last month by Mr. Obama, projects the National Debt will continue to rise as far as the eye can see. The budget shows the Debt hitting $16.3 trillion in 2012, $17.5 trillion in 2013 and $25.9 trillion in 2022.
Federal budget records show the National Debt once topped 121% of GDP at the end of World War II. The Debt that year, 1946, was, by today’s standards, a mere $270 billion dollars.

Obama has reversed the job loss trend and has added new jobs, saved the auto-industry when Conservatives wished it to fail and his policies have restored confidence in the market. Furthermore…the underemployment rate is the largest since WWII under Obama. Let me dumb that down for you. More people have either entirely given up looking for work or a only part time workers since WWII thanks to Baraka Obama’s (sic) policies. We are not adding jobs at an acceptable rate or anywhere near it. The economy is gut punched crawling. Fuel prices rising. Foreclosures still far too high and unacceptably high unemployment. In order for the company to recoup what it has lost this past year the stock must double in price. With the suspension of the Volt production line (which was eminently predictable) GM is looking at losing even more investor money as it lurches aimlessly through murky economic waters. If gas prices hit 5-6 dollars a gallon this summer the economy will come to a complete halt and begin retracting. GMC will be forced to ask for more taxpayer money (like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) just to remain afloat or go under for good. The UAW is partly to blame for this mess, the Federal Gov’t should not have gotten involved at all. GMC was badly run, made some really poor investments, overextended itself when all market idicators were showing the “bubble” was about to burst.
That “bubble” was a co ordinated Democratic intrusion into private sector credit and it’s rules….the housing “bubble” was mandated by the likes of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Pelosi, Carter, Ried, Clintons, and anumber fo progressives that forced responsible lenders to lower standards to the point where, at some point down the road, a lot of people would be left holding a worthless a bag. Obama-Pelosi-Reid have increased the debt by nearly 50% in just five years. The deficit in the last year before Pelosi-Reid was $160 billion. This year it might go over $1 trillion, six times as much. Tell me again how it was “Republicans spending like drunken sailors!”

The Repubs have tried again and again over to try and begin the process of refrom/cuts necessary to ensure a future for the nation. I do relaize the efforts by the Repubs have been meek at best over the last decade but those efforts however small (some were large) were demagogued, ridculed to death by the Democrats in order to derail any possible credit going to the Republican party (for doing what NOW has to be done).
In the late 50′s Ike wanted to pass the civil rights act something which the Democrats fought tooth and nail (for purely political reasons) until they had a Democrat in the oval office (in order to take credit for freeing the blacks of the USA). Oddly even during the turbulent term of LBJ the main opposition to the civil rights act were , drum role please, a large segment of the Democratic party. If not for the Repubs crossing the aisle in near unison the civil rights act would not have passed when it did. For decades Democrats have laid claim to policy and “progress” in the name of human rights that at the time they fought tooth and nail against to grant and managed to then paint the Republicans as the party of NO. Democrats, the ones that once loved the nation, realized what it took to remain prosperious through sound financial policy have ALL disappeared from the political landscape and have foisted upon the trusting majority of citizens a future with a dead

Of course you do not seem to acknowledge the fact that Democrats had BOTH houses of Congress for Obama’s first two years. In fact, they had a 60 vote supermajority in the Senate, which gave them nearly unprecendented power to legislate as they pleased. Even now, Republicans have control of only one house in Congress- the House of Representatives. In fact, that is the one house in which many major pieces of legislation actually HAVE been passed. However, time and time again, the “obstructionist” Senate controlled by your brave Democrats shut them all down, not that your God, Obama would have provided anything but a veto had the Senate not shut them down. It amazes me how much ignorance exists in the rank and file Democrat voters. Those same ignorant people are the ones who shout things such as, “Fox News Lies” and “Obstructionist, do-nothing Congress.” What a bunch of idiots. I am a Conservative, obviously, but unfortunately ignorance and laziness has reached a point in this country in which we cannot stop it. The best we can do is slow it down, but ultimately we are doomed to all being equal in the utopian world of the left. We will all have NOTHING, but at least we won’t have to work for it.

The opridinary lives of the “workers” will be little changed from the “hopleness” that caused the USSR to crumble or the current regimes that practice a kinder gentler form of (so called) Marxism (China has huge problems with it’s exploding middle class). A sad irony is this…in order for Marxism to work (something which has yet to be done) the middle class must be wiped out leaving elites/politburo to run everything while the rest are the “equal” workers (usuelly living in much reduced standards with no real hope of getting anywhere unless granted by the Gov’t stooges which are crooked as a snake). The USSR ruled through police state/fear…the ideals of Communisim/Marxism left behind, crushed under the boot of the dictator Stalin…that same corruption of the ideal occurs with every socialist regime of which Mao was a prime example of…the poor Chinese peasant paid dearly for his vision of Communism…roughly 75-85 million souls of the USSR and Communist Red China paid with thier lives.
