Beck Delivers Rousing Church Speech: ‘Put on the Full Armor of God’ & Get America ‘Back Into the Right Direction’

Glenn Beck took the stage twice on Sunday at Skyline Church in La Mesa, California, where he gave a rousing speech about the state of American politics and what Americans should be doing to change it. At the center of his message was the notion that America must get back on track — a central tenet that he drove home to the nearly 2,000 people who packed the church to hear his address. The popular commentator, who was joined by televangelist James Robison and Pastor Jim Garlow, spoke at 2 p.m. and again at 4 p.m.
“They’re trying to divide us in every way. They’re poking at us. They need you to stand up and to be angry,” he said of the American left. “And there are times that I, for one, am angry…Every day I get up and my job is to look at the news of the world. My job is to piece it together.”

Beck said that he gets up every morning to start the day with prayer, but that it is often difficult to be faced with the news of the day — news that is overwhelmingly tragic and horrific. Despite these challenges, the radio and television host told the audience that America has reached a dire crossroads and that it’s time to take action.
“It’s line in the sand time. Our back is up against the wall and there’s no place to go,” Beck proclaimed. “We can’t give anymore without losing everything we are.”
“We either go back into the right direction, and that’s not the George Bush years, that’s the George Washington years,” UT San Diego quoted Beck as telling the crowd. “Or we go and fundamentally complete the transformation.”

Beck went on to encourage, as he has numerous times before, people of various faiths to come together in an effort to protect religious freedom. Additionally, he told them to stand up for their faith without hate.
“Prepare yourself,” he told the crowd. “Put on the full armor of God. Because the battle is already raging and it is time for the servants of the Lord — of all faiths — to stand together and stand ready to love and do exactly what he tells us to do because, in the end, we win. We win.”
Coming together, he reiterated, has nothing to do with mixing theological ideals and everything to do with standing up for what’s right, while reinforcing tenets pertaining to religious freedom.
“We’re not supposed to mix our theology,” he said. “We’re just supposed to get along.”

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 2:08pmWell, it turns out Skyline Church is actually named “Skyline Wesleyan Church”, but they hide that on their home page banner, leaving it seeker-friendly “means justify the ends” sans Wesley.
So, the property may be owned by a denomination. Yet the church’s website boasts they spent $27 million to build a $6 million building. So Western Enlightenment logic nor conservatism of sheep‘s capital isn’t a strong point of this San Diego area church.
The speaker after Beck, James Robison, proceeds to speak with stage hypnotism Nuero-Linguistic Programming. Here’s what he does: Robison shouts the second word of his sentences.
“the WAY! to go… we BE!-come… we HAVE to do…. the ISH-SHUES… we’re NOT! in it short… we-re-in-it-for LONG! haul… I’m RIGHT! wing…”
This is BIG PERSONA preaching, and pretty much self-glorification of B.S. It’s how, you might wonder, $27 million gets culled from blind sheep to build a $6 million building…. ;)
I keep e-mailing Beck about this foolishness, wherein Beck thinks that, like David Barton, if you drum up business telling dumbed-down sheep that the Founders of the USA were godly… then all is sweet. (Plus, I guess you can sell books about it! ;)
But you can’t be a devil and cast out a devil.
Evangelical church must stop a) stage hypnotism, b) showmanship, c) misdirection & d) suggestion. It’s how $21 million gets wasted by un-angelic leadership.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 1:33pmBeck… you call yourself a ‘mormon’ – a follower of the book of mormon and yet you quote the ACTUAL WORD OF GOD.
you can’t have it both ways –
neither can romney -
In the case of the Mormonism, the devil has telegraphed his punch, but the Mor(m)ons are too spiritually blind to see. They openly refer to their “holy” book, the Book of Mormon, as “another testament of Jesus Christ.“ Now what could ”another testament of Jesus Christ” possibly mean, if not another gospel? If the cultists’ targets had a proper knowledge of Scripture, they would not listen to those deceptively nice-looking young men on their bicycles.
The Bible warns us of those preaching another gospel:
2 Cor. 11:3-4: But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or [if] ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with [him].

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 2:23pmIF, Mormonism “is a cult” as you profess, please explain the differences between Orr in Hatch and Harry Reid to me please. How can ANY alleged “cult” have TWO so completely different and independent contestants? Your intensely defensive missive continues the myth that the LDS/Mormon religion is indeed a “cult”when the doctrines specifically preach and promote one‘s individual responsibility and accountability and tthe inalienable or God given right to exercise one’s own agency or the right to ffreely choose hown they worship. So, before continuing the myth of Cult ism, please explain HOW Harry Reid and Orrin Hatch could be so philosophically different and yet belong to ANY “cult”? Your points are indeifinsible as is your own myopic bigotry towards anyone who chooses to have a different belief than YOU choose to. Seems to be rather hypocritical, doesn’t it? Your brand of “logic” seems to be what has infected the current As ministration, nor do you wish to stand with anyone who believes in the divine Savior of the World, unless of course, he or she toes the line in lock-stwp with YOUR “beliefs”. How very Hitleresque of you. Are you a professed Christian, no, obviously not, so your feigned spiritual outrage is as nonsensical as your posts.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 2:56pmThere’s no question that Mormonism is another gospel all together. On the other hand, I do think it has grown to the point where the term “cult” doesn’t really apply. In the truest definition of the word cult, there would need to be one “leader” whose every word cannot be questioned, and to whom loyalty upon penalty of expulsion or death is demanded. This is not the case within modern Mormonism. Joseph Smith being long gone, the group has taken a great amount of twists and turns in doctrine and practice over the decades since, so in practice it today very little resembles Joseph Smith’s original vision. I would agree with those who assess Mormonism as being a non-Christian religion which has borrowed much from Judaism and Christianity in the way of good moral values, especially the Ten Commandments. But the gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be found in Mormonism. The Judeo-Christian God is Wholly Other , transcendent, in the sense that He is outside of His creation and is not dependent upon it. He cannot be located in space on a planet (or star) named Kolob, nor near a body named Kolob (depending upon various interpretations). Although Mormons call Jesus the Son of God, what they mean by that is entirely different to what traditional Christianity has affirmed. The Mormon Jesus is not eternal God. Since the Mormon Jesus is a created being and not eternal God Himself, they cannot have a Saviour. This has nothing to do, by the way, with whether they are fine people or not.
Report Post »Pilgrimsarbour
Posted on April 23, 2012 at 2:59pmAdditionally, Mormonism is a very, very large group. No cult, in the truest definition of the word, ever gets into the tens of thousands, much less the hundreds of thousands and millions in membership. So I stand by my statement that Mormonism shouldn’t be thought of (classified) as a cult.

Either way – WOW – thank you for giving a link that exposes the hatred and devilish murmurings of those who oppose the true Church of Jesus Christ. I thought about signing in to post the truth about my religion and my testimony of Christ. However, Matthew 7:6 came to my rememberance and changed my mind:
6 ¶Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
I pity you; your words are so full of hate – and God is not the author of hatred towards your neighbor. Be careful whom you serve, for a man cannot serve two masters.
Matthew 6:24 ¶No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
PLEASE – pray to allow God to fill you with love.
John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
You and I share different beliefs, yet I still hope the best for you. I will gladly share what I believe and why; but will NOT fall for the snare of the adversary and demean you and your beliefs with hateful language (e.g. “perverted savages” – a quote from your website).

http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=55995
Then go to the official website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at:
http://mormon.org/
and make up your own mind on who exemplifies the life of Christ.
Remember the words of Christ himself as recorded in Matthew 7:15-20
15 ¶Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Which message (as found on the aforementioned websites) brings forth these good fruits?
I submit that the message from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the perfect gospel as taught by Christ himself during his ministry on earth. I submit that Christ himself leads and direct the Church through living prophets once again as he did in days of old. I know this to be true through the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 5:42pm@P8RIOT You make an important point. I will concede that sometimes the behaviour of Christians is appalling. But if behaviour of individuals and the language they use were the only criteria the Bible puts forth in defining the true believer, then we have a problem. We cannot make judgements about someone’s spiritual state based solely on their behaviour. We are to be discerning about those who call themselves teachers and bringers of the gospel. However, we should also acknowledge that sometimes true words are spoken by utterly obnoxious people, and false words are spoken by those who are deceived; thus the admonition by Jesus Himself in Matthew 7 to watch out for false prophets “…who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.“ We would have to understand thoroughly everything the Bible has to say about ”fruits” in the context of bringing the gospel. The good news has to do with correct doctrine (teaching), and not so much with behaviour, though the two are never divorced from each other. Godly living can be a true evidence of Jesus Christ working grace within the sinner. But the reference to “brother” in the N.T. is always regarding a true believer in Christ. However, this does not give the Christian license to treat those outside the covenant community badly. In this I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Notice that our battle is “…not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” I am unhappy when people rip this passage out of context and apply it to some contemporary political/historical situation. I feel the same when Hannity (or anyone) says “…the truth shall set you free,” which is from John 8 and is Jesus speaking about Himself and His gospel. Neither of these passages has anything to do with our current political situation, as grave as that may be. And I do agree that it is grave.

And Evangelical Church has been uncorrectable for about 100 years.
That‘s why Evangelical Church never much teaches Madison’s “men are not angels” and especially “men of institutions like church or gov’t. ARE ALSO NOT ANGELS”.
Now then, when nondom pastors ask for funds for their endless building campaigns, NOTE THAT THEY NEVER mention “this is private property!”
Because Evangelical nondom pastors have played tawdry means to justify their financial ends.
The nondom church property is private, and belongs in the hands usually of the pastor, the pastor’s wife and early contributing founders. Hence, the property is often at risk of divorce, wherein divorcing spouse asks for half their share, ASAP!
Hence, full disclosure would include announcing who owns said “private property” and the cost of divorce insurance, in case it is the retirement package for Mr. & Mrs. Nondom Church Pastor Team.
I’ve tried to point out these churchianity blinding operations to Beck, and that you can’t cast devils out of devils, and that freedom can’t be preached at a blinding pulpit.

It’s really the message of what to do when the Grench comes and steals Christmas. The sane minded of the community have to come together and focus on the important things — community, kindness, mutual support.

Matthew 25
1Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:19amIt’s a lot to watch but you should see how bored and uninterested Mr Beck looks when anyone else is speaking. Rude
Mr. Beck’s paranoia really comes through on this video.
Mr. Beck told his black lamb painting story again , saying he’s never told it before, and linked it somehow to a plot to kill him.
I don’t see how pointing out that there is a judgement day equals a murder plot.
Mr. Beck repeated the lie that “there were four suicide vests out” when he spoke in Israel.
At best this is delusional. More likely the lies are intentional. Mr. Beck means to say what he says.
And there was the usual Beckinan double speak of fire in the streets
and the fire from the pulpit.
If the fire from the pulpit is good then so too are street demonstrations,
Mr. Beck repeated his New Age hokum stating God’s name is I Am so we are all gods, and saying its blasphemous for a person to say I can’t denying their all powerful nature.
And Mr. Beck crying for himself remembering that his back hurt.
The other two speakers were terrible:
The Texas guy saying the most important thing any pastor could do to prepare his congregation would be to buy his book
The Catholic guy saying there are plans to assign people jobs. Pure Fantasy.
A waste of time.

I don't have to agree with every other nuance of someones beliefs if we can stand on that common foundation. That is the message I received. It's a powerful message. Everything Mr. Beck says is conditional.
His peace and love is only for the select, not for all.
The appeal is to make YOU an elite, one of the few, smarter than your neighbors, apart from others sometimes separated because you are persecuted by the masses, and sometimes separated by being one of the few in a majority able to speak up for all.
The flag and the cross may be on Mr. Beck”s banner, but it’s not in his heart. Listen how he mocks both daily.

But hey… I can only guess that she probably is not a fan of his religion, and uses this to take her shots at it. ‘His peace and love is conditional”? Newsflash girl…it ‘aint Glenns peace and love, nor does he claim it as his. It is God’s peace and love. His love is freely given to all, and his peace is given to those who seek Him. And the goal isn‘t to make anyone an ’elite’. In fact, it seems to be a more of a tactic of the left to make those who disagree with them feel like they are the uneducated fools. And what do you do with your post? You come off as knowing more than the rest of the folks, and your intelligence has allowed you to ‘see through’ the smoke and mirrors. Yeah…right.

God’s peace and love is and Mr. Beck’s are not the same thing.
The main criticism of the economic protesters last summer was that they were not focused; that they included too many different voices and viewpoints.
Mr. Beck is a rehash of Republican talking points you can hear on The Sean Hannity or the Rush Limbaugh Shows, or better yet go to the source: Matt Drudge.
There’s plenty of Patriot news sources. Don’t be hoodwinked by the “We Stand by our Principles” except when it comes to politics when we just follow the Republican / Romney party line and everything that is against those principles.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 9:35amGod (not the christian god, but the identical god concept that every monotheistic faith in human history shares), is only a refuge for people that are overwhelmed by the world. People who would rather submit to a comforting delusion than face up to the big, scary existential questions. God is a cop-out mechanism, time to grow up. If you loathe the world you live in, get off the couch and do something about it. It’s just like when you catch a cold, you don’t appeal to god to make your cold go away (because that obviously ain’t happening), you take steps to make yourself better. Offering up your problems to god will rob you of your work ethic and critical faculties quicker than marijuana (Glen Beck’s drug of choice for much of his life, I might add).

I would beg to differ with your take that religion and a belief in God turns you into someone who looks for God to do it all In fact, my belief in God and that He created this world for you and I, leads me to work to keep it a great place. I certainly don’t expect God to remove every obstacle in my life, or every pain I have. I ask Him to be with me as I WORK my way through what I encounter in this life. It does not rob me of my work ethic. How many of the ‘occupiers’ are faith driven, church going people? I would surmise that few, if any – there is your true answer. Those are the folks doing nothing to make their world better. And just FYI, I DO get up, every day, and strive to make myself, my family, and the world I live in a better place. I have what some call ‘hope’. And I would definitely argue that it is not a cop-out mechanism. Rather, it gives me the strength to go on, regardless of what may happen to me. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

Posted on April 23, 2012 at 11:16amabbygirl1994: It’s very difficult to prove such abstract things. I personally feel that Glenn Beck is pushing a style of Universalism/Pluralism at the demand of those he shills for; in particularly Globalist/Marxist/Internationalists/Jews. Pluralism is a cornerstone of their NWO. They can’t implement it without a Pluralistic melting point which abhors Nationalism. Now you may say that Glenn promotes Patriotism which one can definitely argue that he does; however, he promotes a false patriotism.
I see America as the nation which my forefathers founded. A predominantly white and Christian nation. I accept no other ideal of America because it is utterly false and bound to fail. Beck pretends like many others that this new construct of multiculturalism has a snowflakes chance in hell of succeeding and the only reason he pretends is because if he didn’t the moneychangers who call the shots would have him removed from their airwaves.
Absolutely no Multicultural Paradise has ever existed upon this earth and it never will.. But they want you to believe that it can exist so they can continue in their plans to enslave humanity. Divided we are weak; in Unity we are strong.

“Divided we are weak, in Unity we are strong”
Do you seriously not see the irony in speaking those words in the same paragraph where you preached segregation? Forget irony, that’s a blatant contradiction. You won’t even unite with all conservatives. You won’t stand with Allen West, a man that openly opposes communism, because he’s black. You won’t stand with Beck because he supports Israel and stands with Jews and others. Exactly who will you unite with Techcommunist? It seems to me that you want America to be a country of people who exclusively look and think like you do. Care to explain how that’s different than communists not wanting religious people or capitalists in their country.
You say America was founded by “white Christians”. I say it was founded by Americans, who possessed their own culture that distinguished them from the “white Christians”, as you call them, of Britain and Europe. The colonies separated from Europe because they no longer considered themselves European.
If you seriously don’t see that then the whole of what is the American Culture is lost on you. Is multiculturalism destroying us? Yes and you are the proof. Instead of valuing American values, American ideals, American CULTURE, you instead value your ancestry and “racial status”. You are playing right into their hands, allowing them to turn you against those who might stand with you. You are one of the most deceived people on this site.
