Beck Reacts to Breitbart’s Death & Reveals First Time They Talked

On his radio show this morning, Glenn Beck spoke about new media mogul Andrew Breitbart’s untimely death. In addition to announcing the tragedy, Beck talked about his past interactions with Breitbart and encouraged listeners to be cautious when addressing any conspiracy theories that might arise as a result of his passing.

(Related: ‘Burn in HELL!’: Shocking Tweets Celebrate Andrew Breitbart’s Death)

“I didn’t know Andrew that well,” Beck said, going on to talk about his first time speaking with the founder of the “Big” web sites. In particular, Beck recalled a phone conversation during which Breitbart told him about the videos that ended up bringing down the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

Beck recalled Breitbart’s offer to expose the ACORN videos on his television program. In addition to describing this conversation, Beck delved into the internal FOX News debate that surrounded the story and praised Breitbart for shedding light on the scandal.

“He is the guy who exposed ACORN and really made it personal to the American people,” Beck explained. “We had heard of ACORN before. We had known ACORN was a problem. But it was those video tapes he did with [James] O’Keefe that brought it home to people.”

Later on in the show, Beck further delved into Breitbart’s death and encouraged individuals to refrain from jumping to conclusions.

“I urge you — in fact, I beg of you not to go to any conspiracy theory. Breitbart had made many, many enemies, but do not go to conspiracy theories,” he said. ”Let‘s not jump to conclusions and spread things that will spread so fast and you’ll never be able to take them back…it’s not wise…with that being said, leave no stone unturned.”

A caller named “Rob” later told Beck that he believes it‘s important to take note of the fact that Breitbart claimed to have videos of Obama’s college years. During his CPAC speech, Rob said that Breitbart announced his plans to release the clips during the 2012 campaign.

Again, Beck said “we need to be really careful about conspiracy theories,” but reiterated that he was supportive of learning all of the facts surrounding the incident.

To Andrew Breitbart: When you had the courage to expose ACORN and bring the truth to our homes, I applauded you – when you continue to share information that many out there would rather shove under the rug, I thought that was very patriotic. When I heard the news of your passing this morning, I felt an extreme sadness. If no one else picks up where you left off, heaven help us all!! God bless and may the good Lord lift the spirit of your family during this very difficult time.

While he was alive, he was persona non gratia to some of the most influential Conservative entertainers in the infotainment business, because he competed directly for their audience. But no one could sling red meat like Andrew, not even Michelle Malkin. Now that he is gone, his competition will tell us how close they were and say how behind closed doors, they all admired him to death.

He died the same way that Tim Russert died in 2008 right before a general election. Tim Russert was a straight shooter and would have vetted Obama had he lived. My first thought when I heard that Breitbart passed in the same manner was there goes another truth teller. Wonder why they had to post right away that he died from Natural causes when there is still going to be an autopsy. Even Whitney’s cause of death has not been mentioned yet.

Do not insult a true journalist like Tim Russert, by comparing him with a proven liar and fraud like Brietbert. Brietbart’s entire career was based upon telling bigger and bigger lies. The ACORN story that made him famous, has been debunked (though FoxNews wouldn’t report the truth). The world is a better place with Brietbart 6 feet under.

      1) Remove Saddam Hussein from power is primary importance to Israel. 2) Destabilize Lebanon. 3) Destabilize Syria. 4) Destabilize Iran.

It is the fact that Iran shouldn’t be capable of producing nukes that concerns me. That indicates that they would have to be receiving help from somebody. Considering Russia is opposing any action against them makes me very suspicious. Add in Russia’s promise not to allow any attack against Syria and Iran to go unanswered and it becomes quite clear whose pulling the strings. Hint, it’s not Israel.

@ianmc002 Not sure how your comment is relevant to the topic of Andrew Breitbart’s death but I did a little research for you:

Iran’s Air Force has approximately 225 operational fighter jet aircraft of various manufacturers. French Mirage F-1(10), USA F-14(25), Chinese F-7(20) and Russian Mig-29(25) to name a few. Source Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Republic_of_Iran_Air_Force‘ The article also indicates Iran’s efforts at modernization. As far as level of threat these aircraft pose I would leave that to someone with actual Air Force experience to judge.

Iran produces 4,176,000 barrels of oil a day and consumes about 1,770,000 barrels a day. They are a net EXPORTER of oil to the tune of 2,406,000 barrels a day. This is per US Energy Information Administration at http://www.eia.gov/countries/country-data.cfm?fips=IR

Again, I’m not sure how this ties to the topic at hand, but I trust you will enlighten everyone.

To the topic at hand, my heartfelt condolences to Mr. Breitbart’s family.

While I agree very much with your statements, “beckers” are not united with Glen Beck on this issue. & you probably want those people to be open to your message, so a less confrontation method of making your point would sway more people. (Just a suggestion.)

Now Beck himself? He can be extremely thick. He has his heart in the right place, but one issue with recovering addicts/drunks is they can be damn stubborn with their fears. (For understandable reasons.) We just have to keep on him, suggesting to him, & using tough love when needed.

Another point re: Nukes: Look at N Korea! Here we had a country really with Nukes, REALLY run by a REALLY CRAZY person, & yet no nukes were launched. & now that really crazy leader is dead, the people of N Korea thru their new leadership are saying, “We really don’t need/want these nukes anyway, especially when we don’t have food or electricity or clean running water.” Sound familiar?

Iran is no different. In fact Iran‘s leadership is way less crazy than N Korea’s was. NO less evil, but certainly less crazy. But the real people of Iran will happily give up their Nukes for clean water & food & electricity in every home. Their problem is the same as our problem: inept and/or tragically flawed leaders. Kim died, Castro is on his way & Chavez is right behind him.

EVENTUALLY Beck will get it, but the question is, will there be a country left to appreciate it? Because right now, we can’t afford his thickheadedness for much lon
