The People of Japan know we (THE) people of America are with them. They too have suffered through inept, corrupt politicians over the past decades – and though they can’t figure out how this bummer-in-charge got there – they will not hold it against us. They know we’ll wake up and shrug Bummer Boy and his wrench wife off – just as we are with many of our socialist politicians (believe me – they have their “wieniers” too) and get back to our fundemental principles and correct our steerage in World affairs.

1 John 4:7-8 Glenn is able to deliver this powerfully because he has love of God and his fellow man. I pray that our POTUS has his eyes opened, has his heart softened, and that he can return to God’s grace. In the meantime, Americans will step up to help Japan- Red Cross, Salvation Army and other Christian organizations will respond. Those of us who remain in the States will donate and volunteer as we are called.

Thank you Glenn for seeing the bigger picture in this crisis in Japan. I was stationed in Japan for three years and I’m not surprised that there is no rioting or looting. We as Americans need to follow their example. My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all my Japanese friends and my fellow service members currently stationed in Japan.

Pericles, is actually right, Beck is an entertainer and good at what he does, Radio & TV and that is where he is most valuble. Beck, though he is a great guy, good citizen , husband & father, however, he is NOT “Presidential”, and he should not even consider the thought. We are already suffering through a “inexperienced” Presidency, we don‘t need and won’t survive another !!

What an embarrassing display of clownmanship. Beck, bravo at your dramatic reading of a teleprompter. Hey Glenn if you are so concerned about the Japanese and don’t feel that the nuclear plants are no threat then get your sorry butt over there and help out. It is just so easy to put on a display of ego ridden ignorant absurdities from a cozy studio in New York City a week after the fact. This is the real speech that Beck should have read “buy more gold, buy my made in a sweatshop in China t-shirts and hats, take a break from your pathetic lives and look at pictures of me on my lush vacation, me me me me me.”

There is absolutely NO understanding this president. His ‘should haves’ are never present and always appear to be completely opposite of what our Nation is requesting from their president. Send Glenn‘s speech to O’s telepromptor and maybe he will get something right. He does not even appear involved or care with an unbelievable passivity or flat affect.
GOD be with the Japanese people. Thank you, Glenn for speaking the right words. I wish we could send a gigantic card to the Japanese people extending our thoughts and prayers-and tons of necessary items to assist them. They are a remarkable people.

Why oh why do people keep forgetting Obama is a classic narcissist and has no empathy for anyone. It does not matter to him what others suffer. He has to be told to show concern for others suffering. Our country is going to suffer for having such a cold shallow president. I can’t wait to get someone like Lt. Co West in the White House. If he were president he would be on the phone every hour arranging support to go to Japan and NZ.

NO ONE, in the Administration, form Obama himself, to the lowest of his political appointees has the mindset with which to write an Oval Office Address such as this. They have no compassion, they can’t use this crisis to inflict more of their desire for control IN JAPAN, but they sure won’t let this good crisis go to wast HERE in the U.S.

Glenn Beck although may indeed by a pretty good guy, good husband & Father and a good citizen, he however is not Presidential, nor shouid He even consider the thought. He is more valuble to His Family, and America in the work he is doing. We already have a “inexperienced” politician in the Oval Office, and look where it has gotten us, in deep trouble, we will not survive another inexperienced President, and that is what you would get with Beck, inexperience. NO, we don’t need that, what we do need is someone who IS experienced, polished in thier work as a Politician, perferably a Governor who has a solid record of success, (and I’m not talking about the “quiter” “Palin”)! There are those who are very much “Presidential” whom we should consider and get behind, and we need to pay attention to all potential canidates’s political record!! The reason why we ended up with Obama, is voters got all caugth up in his swelling words, of “hope & change”, and the only change we got, was no hope at all with this present Presidency. Beck is good as what is does, “Radio”, & Television talk & commentary, lets leave it at that, start doing research now on all those putting themselves out there for a run for the 2012 Oval Office, and dig deep into their history, know who they are, what they have done, note failures & successes, so that we don’t end up with another shipreck Presidency like the Obama administration.

With that said, why is it that Glenn, and everyone else at Fox News, never mention the FACT that roughly 65% of the Japanese are ATHEISTS? Could it be because it would blow some of their basic premise’s out of the water about how human beings need religious mumbo-jumbo to make them good people?

Sadly I feel sorry for you wasting so much energy on hating God and his followers that could be spent blessing and helping your fellow man. When you go out of your way to confess out of your mouth that Jesus is not the Son of God, like you did, Jesus will deny you in front of the Father one day. Sad but true. Don’t argue with Christians, argue with God. As good as the people of Japan are that don’t know the one true God, if they don’t recognize that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for them and make Him Lord of their life, they will not be going to heaven. Actually that was a nice appraisal of the Japanese culture: industrious, inventive, smart, and businesses geared toward continuous improvement of quality (thanks partly to the influence of the American statistician W. Edwards Deming after WWII).

No looting? Japan’s culture is “collectivist” rather than “individualistic” like ours (think Ayn Rand). The thought of stealing from someone under any circumstances is unthinkable in Japan. If cooperation among members of your your fellow man is a value to you, then you should recognize that Japanese culture is superior to our in that regard.

In any case was that a Presidential speech? Well, maybe to you guys. Maybe Beck convinced you that the Japanese are not part of the evil embodied by most every other country in his world. If it had that effect then it was Presidential for you guys. Good for him on that. Okay you can donated to Japan now that that he hath spoken.

      Attn: Those calling for Impeachment.
And then what? We have Joe Biden as President. And who knows who for vice president. There has to be some way to remove the entire Executive office and start over, but that would require special elections and that takes time. Meanwhile, what then? I know the Constitution, and it isn’t clear at all on the circumstances we face today. A bad President, Impeachment removes HIM. Bad cabinet also? No provision. Obama is entrenched and the House needs to focus first on how to solve this problem.
Although I am not a “birther’, mainly because although the Constitution only states the requirements for being President, it never mentions how to remove one who “snuck in”, maybe our only choice is to remove obama on that ground, thereby making his entire Presidency illigitimate and all of his executive orders….does that then make Speaker Boehner temporary President? I believ it must under the rules of succession, but I could be wrong.
Either way, this “President” MUST be removed from office, along with his entire executive work force and every policy he has fomented since his innauguration.
This isn’t like the Wisconson labor people crying about losing an election, this is about a “leader” who refuses to lead. The most important leader in the world.

Thank you Glenn…your words made me weep…I wept because they so beautifully sum up the horrific events that we have watched unfold over the past 6 days…events that have hurt our friends…all we can do is stay tuned to our radios and televisions and at the very least get as close to what is happening as we possibly can. Secondly, I weep because I am hurt that the President of the United States is not honorable enough to speak your words…He is not strong nor is he kind or humble enough to show compassion at a time when our friends are enduring unprecedented, unwarranted assault…What truly horrifies me is that my fellow Americans elected this man and we hear hardly even a whisper of remorse that they have done so…I find myself in disbelief day after day and I can’t believe that all of this hate has been going on in this country, behind the scenes, evidently for many, many years…It is like he was the catalyst in unleashing all of the hate and envy and selfishness I have seen being displayed by my fellow Americans, especially here of late…It.makes me far more than just sad…I am ashamed and frightened for our future and that of our friends who count on us as well!

I have to also agree with you Glenn…I not only believe that a “realignment” is taking place all around the world and in particular here in America…but I believe that not only are we being subjected to Mr. Obama’s twisted view of the world, but I truly believe that the only “mandate” he has to his agenda is to create “chaos”…We have known nothing but division and chaos since the day he took office…If only narcissism were an impeachable offense, there would be hearings underway right now on Capital Hill! I pray constantly that God will show us the way back to him…no matter the path we might have to travel…I for one am willing to do whatever it takes…I just want to return to the America that I know and love.

@ SG Applebee: Who has an ego? The one who has humbled himself and placed his faith in God or the one who denies there is a God? Are you a betting man? I ask you to consider Pascal’s Wager: If I am right that there is a God, and you are wrong, when we die I go to heaven and you go to hell. I win you lose. If you are right and I am wrong, when we die, nothing happens. Except I spent my life living accordance with firm moral principals and loving others as I would have them love me. You spent your life trying to prove the unprovable and arguing with people about God. I win you lose.

Given that I win either way, and you lose either way, I think you might be on the wrong side of that wager. Just some food for thought.

Now let me predict your response: “The Science is settled”. “Dinosaurs weren’t mentioned in the Bible“ ”Who’s to say that Your God is the right God?”
      Answers:
      1. Science can not tell us what the source of Gravity is. Why would I deny God based on something that can‘t even explain why I don’t just float off the earth?
      2. Aardvarks weren’t mentioned in the Bible either. Somehow I don;t think God would need to take the time to list every species of creature he had created in order to be believed.
      3. There is but one God. Remember, there is a huge difference between religion and God. The Bible does not say that you must be a Presbyterian, or Mormon, or Catholic, or Jewish, or Muslim. It recognizes no particular religion because there were no religions. Religion is an entirely man made device and is completely flawed. The Word of God is not. Do not think that you have to join some religion in order to have a relationship with God. You do not. Salvation stems from a very personal relationship with God, not adherence to some arcane man-made doctrines. But first you have to admit that you may not be the ruler of your universe and that you are not the most important thing in your life.

Thank you so much for that post.
      First, I am in total agreement about your opinions about dogma and how dangerous that is. In fact, i believe side-by-side in both Christianity and Taoism in this aspect;
Taoism is more a living philosophy than a religion, and they have a parabol:
Five men set on a journey up the side of a mountain. Each man had their mule, and set upon a different path. Each path had different obsticals to overcome, but with their mules, each overcame their obsticals and each, through faith, virtue and dilligence achieved the peek of the mountain. After they all arrived, each set his mule to pasture and watched the sun set.

This lesson is about dogma. no matter what you are told to believe, if you are a virtuous person and follow your rules and are a good person to your fellow man, you shall, through due dilligence, find God and reside in Heaven.

Yes I have read the bible, much more so than you I suspect. You completely fail to see my point. Believing in God is NOT RELIGION. Believing in the Bible is NOT RELIGION. Telling someone they can not have a direct relationship with God except through a Priest IS RELIGION. Telling someone that they must go kill everyone who does not believe in God IS RELIGION. Telling someone that a MAN elected by the vote of other men is somehow more holy than anyone else IS RELIGION. Telling someone they can not eat a certain food on a certain day in the name of God IS RELIGION. Worshipping an animal IS RELIGION. Get it yet?

I believe he is correct, that dogma is a dangerous, man-made ideal, and the words of God and the words of Christ (one in the same) are all that matter. It is the goal of organized religions to dictate their personal interpretations of those Words, and up to us, the individuals to choose a church which best describes those interpretations.
OR, we can read our Bibles, interpret for ourselves, live a virtuous, good life and worship and live as we see fit as prescribed by God a through Jesus.
I need neither a priest, Rabbi nor Minister to tell me how to worship. I just go to Sunday service to get teachings as closely to what I believe as I can.
