Beck Inspires Activists, Gets Top Israeli Rabbi‘s Blessing for ’Restoring Courage’

Glenn Beck’s groundbreaking event, “Restoring Courage,” is just days away.
On August 24, 2011, Beck will join people from around the world to offer up one resounding message: It’s important that America and her allies support Israel.
Recently, Beck was granted a special meeting with with Israel’s Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger. During the discussion, he had an opportunity to describe “Restoring Courage,” while connecting with the Rabbi on issues of faith and Beck’s passionate support for Israel. IsraelNationalNews.com writes:
As he did when he addressed members of Knesset, Beck said he was inspired by the words of Biblical Ruth, who followed her mother-in-law, Naomi, to Israel from Moab and promised her that “Your people shall be my people and your God shall be my God.”
“That’s what needs to be said,” Beck told Rabbi Metzger. “We need to say that, so we are gathering together.”

Jewishaz.com writes about some of the people who have been inspired by Beck’s initiative. These individuals are planning events here in America that will coincide with “Restoring Courage”:
Boaz Witbeck, founder of American-Israeli Alliance, a pro-Israel student group based at Arizona State University West, is working to organize a pro-Israel rally on ASU’s Tempe campus on Aug. 24. The event is open to the community, and Witbeck said he expects more community members than students.
Rabbi Arthur Lavinsky, spiritual leader of Beth El Congregation, and Pastor Eddy Paul Morris, Arizona director of Christians United for Israel, will speak at the rally, named Restoring Courage ASU. The gathering will culminate with a viewing party of Beck’s Restoring Courage rally in Jerusalem that will have taken place earlier in the day.
Then, there’s Gabrielle Hoffman and Nicole Pearce, two individuals who were so inspired by “Restoring Courage” that they launched a non-profit called Restoring Courage U.S. The group, which is using the event to gain support for Israel, is not officially sponsored by Beck, though he has promoted it. When it comes to supporting Israel, Hoffman says:
“We like and respect (Beck), but this isn’t about him, it’s about Israel. We like his event because it’s bringing people from all walks of life to stand with Israel … and to inspire people to work together and set aside some differences to fight for Israel’s legitimacy.”
Coverage of the event as well as a live stream will be available on GBTV. Joining the team who will be covering “Restoring Courage” will be CBN News Terrorism Analyst Erick Stakelbeck, who blogged the following yesterday:

We do not want a politician promoting the use of government funds to support or to hinder any country, including Israel. If we are truly for small government and are consistent in our principle and philosophy then government should be neutral. A nation of people can still support Israel through individuals assembling together for this cause. Glenn Beck and John Hagee are displaying how individuals can make a difference without the use of tax payers money.
Supporting one country financially and not another is picking winners and losers, right now our policy favors those who wish to destroy us and Israel. 7 out of 8 American dollars that we send to the middle east goes to those that wish our and Israels destruction.
So when you pick a presidential candidate, and the fate of Israel is on your short list of important topics, look to the individual that does not want to police the world, look to the candidate that wants to empower the individual. Ask yourself; which candidate speaks of force and which speaks of liberty?

But God is a loving and forgiving God and He keeps His promises. He said that one day He would bring them back to their land. Read Ezekial 37, I believe we are witnessing this now. Ezekial 37:8 “Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.” But soon He will breath the Breath (Holy Spirit) into them and they will be saved. I believe soon many will realize that Jesus was the Messiah and be saved, therefore I will not give up on them. We need to love them and pray for them.

I’m a poor 20 something male…so what…doesn’t mean I have to vote for liberal policies. I plan on working hard to get what I want. Some day…when I’ve made my fortune (please understand that wealth is subjective and my idea of riches is probably much different than yours)…I want to be able to enjoy it without fear of the government that is supposed to serve me (y’know that whole “of the people, by the people” thing), taking my hard earned spoils and giving it to the lazy sack of bones that didn’t have the gumption to get up and get a job.
I work hard so my family can have a good life and my kids will have it better than I…you should get off your duff and give it a shot.
Two more things for this rant:
1.) Enough with the whole liberal mentality that the rich should “pay their fair share” – 50% of Americans don’t pay any income tax. WHAT?
2.) I get that revenues for the government come in the form of taxes…but I’m sick and tired of hearing the libs and talking heads trying to make taxation sound like a good thing. Who doesn’t like revenues? NO ONE…except for when those revenues are TAXES.

In other words he believes that Jesus Christ is the savior and redeemer of the world. Isn’t that christian? What makes you a christian and him not? If I told you that I go to a christian church does that make me christian? Clearly just showing up to a building with a name on it does not make me a true follower of Jesus Christ. Mormons are Christian. Mormons worship Christ, and seek to emulate his life, and live according to his teachings as we understand it. Not as other Christians understand it, but as we understand it.
No, we are not numbered with with mainstream Christians on all doctrinal issues, and we don’t subscribe to the creedal Trinitarian view of the Godhead, but we consider ourselves followers of Christ, or in other words, Christians.

As a Christian, I learned so much from my mother who read her Bible and taught me at the same time how important the Jewish state and her people truly are to all Christians! With a Prez who has done more damage to my country’s relationship with the Jewish people and God is not something I can candon or accept! It is evil, not helpful to us or the families of Israel!

Posted on August 13, 2011 at 2:32pmThere is no more reason to worry about Glenn Beck’s safety than any other tourist that visits Israel. Since his TV show is over, he is less relevant. I know he has a radio show but it is, at least in our area, on a low-power station. It is dangerous to vacation in Israel and the surrounding areas. This type of vacation is no different than a “specialty” cruise – Christian cruises, genealogy cruises, etc. I hope Glenn and his group come back all safe and sound.
