Beck Lashes Out at Washington Post ‘Liars’ for Column Calling Him ‘Anti-Semitic’

On Friday, the Washington Post published and opinion piece blasting Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) for saying he would try and join Glenn Beck in Israel for Beck’s Restoring Courage event. According to the author, Beck is a “creature” who is “the leading purveyor of anti-Semitic memes in the mass media.” Not surprisingly, that didn’t sit too well with Beck. And he made that quite clear.

On his radio show Monday, Beck unleashed on the Washington Post for its “smears” and for “propping up lies.” Not only did he point out that he’s received the “defender of Israel award” from the Zionist organization of America — an honor previously bestowed upon the likes of Joe Biden, Tom DeLay, and even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — but he also used a bit of historical evidence.

Beck pointed out specific instances where he has been an ardent defender of Israel, playing clips from his radio show, Fox News show, and even his time at CNN.

“I know of no show that has spent more time of national airtime telling the truth about the growing wave of anti-semitism over the past decade than this show in all its forms, he said. “That’s important to point out, not to brag—but to show the incredible liars that the Washington Post allows to write on their pages.”

He later asked a rhetorical question: “Ask yourself this question, especially if you write for the Washington Post: How could we possibly continue to smear and prop up lies?”

    After going to the Opinio piece at the Washington Post, I came away with on realization. Many of those who wrote not only supported the article but voice statements that would have one believe that there is wide spread hatred of Jews and that the Washington Post certainly brought that out. Some claimed that Joe Liberman was the elected representative for Israel, never mind that he is a US citizen elected to his position by other citizens of this country. Many voiced support for the Palestinians and thier cause for control of Jerusalem, and most if not all of Israel. As GB continues to show Anti-Semitism is becoming a great and greater threat to this and many other countries. Now why is the Washington Post so against GB going to Israel?? Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

    Can anyone get the Washington Post to layout, in detail, what their publisher did to gain access to the JFK White House? Mr Graham must have thought it was pretty important to be first in line when a news story broke.

    At first glimpse, it probably seemed as though Graham gave Kennedy a lot, but when you think about it, it really wasn’t much, was it?

    I listen to Glenn because he *does* present the truth in an original, interesting way. He also presents stories that *nobody* else ever covers – for that he should receive our eternal praise.

    However, as I’ve pointed out before, I will not be a GBTV subscriber – I have been having a harder and harder time dealing with Glenn’s egotism, and I simply won’t pay to support a “network” named after himself. What was wrong with “Liberty TV” or “Freedom TV” or Founding Fathers TV”…or something like that? Nope – true to form Glenn (who is always about “me, I, me, I”) names it after himself – “Megalomania TV” would have been appropriate.

    Deep down inside, I suspect that this has nothing to do with “helping the country” or anything like that – I think it is a money grab designed to turn a mega millionaire into a mega billionaire. I wish I didn’t think that, but I’m afraid it is so.

      Glenn has the right to capitalize on his efforts – it is called capitalism. He did the work, he built up the brand. Why SHOULDN’T he put his name on it. It is no more credible or factual if he names it anything else. Plus, if he DID name it something else, the socialis democrat people would attack him for “trying to hide” his involvement. His TV SHOW was called “GLENN BECK” – for BRAND CONTINUTY, it makes complete sense to have a name that is reminiscent of his TV show.
      Not to mention, if he were to fail, his own reputation takes a hit. Whereas naming it something else would better insulate him from brand failure. So, KUDOS to Glenn for his new undertaking.
      Oh, and it is HIS MONEY that is backing this venture, not a public stock offering.
      If you don’t like Glenn, that’s fine – don’t join – don’t listen.
      But, to stand back and poo poo his efforts doesn’t pass the smell test.

      I think the standards of a defamation case are much higher with a public personality. Plus, I don’t think he would have suffered any loss, the people who don’t follow him, still won’t.       Very doubtful that an opinion piece would get much Court time for a defamation suit. People are entitled to their opinions, and libel is a very difficult case to prosecute.

      Beck handled this the right way. He called them what they have proven to be, LIARS!

      Anyone can easily check out Becks activities with pro Jewish groups like Christians United For Israel and American Rabbis, the Beck show being sponsered by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews and not to mention all of his own words in support of the Jewish people and Israel on his show.

      I love Glenn and have listened to & watched him for years. I recommended him to a very old friend (late 70′s) & the first angry words out of her mouth were “I HATE HIM, HE LIES”. I was taken aback by her comment and calmly asked her ‘why’ she would make such a statement, to which she replied, I read it someplace, can’t remember where, or I saw it someplace. I asked for one example, just one, she quickly replied that she couldn’t think of any but would get back to me. Weeks later, I dropped by her place & she was watching MSNBC. I tried to defend him to my friend (a former teacher) but to her, there was no defending him…. she spouted, things like, he’s a liar, in it for the money, can’t stand him…… after all that hate, I found out that she had NEVER watched him. So my point it is, no matter how good Glenn is, how honorable his intentions are, there are people in this country that just aren’t interested in the truth. Unfortunately this has forever changed my relationship with her.

      Personally, I don’t follow Glenn blindly but with the information he provides and his very clear explanations I can verify for myself.

      The media NEVER reports on all the good things he does, for the military, the American people, towns and now Israel..they are THAT which they accuse him of being….LIAR

      God help us and Israel – We the proud American People will not tolerate this kind of dishonestly from our public officials and the media.

In other words, assuming that a person’s “jewishness” was not a factor in the person being selected, what are the odds of getting eight jews on your list of the nine worst people in the world?

      Assume that one percent of the world’s population is Jewish (it’s actuall a lot lower than that) and imagine this situation: you have a big container holding 1000 marbles, 10 blue ones representing the Jews and 990 white marbles representing everyone else (1% of the marbles are blue). You pick nine marbles out of that barrel of 10,000. What are the odds that of the nine marbles you pick, eight will be blue?

      For simplicity I’ll use the binomial distribution. The odds of picking eight blue marble is 0.00000000000009%. In other words, about 1 in a trillion. In other words, the odds that Beck does not antisemtic are 1 in a trillion based on the fact that he thinks eight of the nine worst people in the world are jews.

      As an orthodox Jew. As someone who has studied the holocaust and jewish history. I can say with complete certainty the following.
      1. Glenn Beck is NOT and anti semite, he is probably one of the loudest voices for jews and Israel in the media.
      2. Todays political left is anti semetic. I think this basically is because the left has a war with morality and instead wants to say that there is only moral relativism. The left are the loudest voices against Israel and Jewish morality. The left always sem to find fault only with the jews. The left has a desire to remove G-D from our life since jews are the people that introduced G-d to our lives the Jews are the enemy of the left.
      3. Liberal Jews are very foolish and short sighted. Unfortunately most liberal Jews are either reform or conservative they are not traditional practicing jews. Orthodox Jews who follow the faith of our forefathers tend to be on the conservative side politiacally. We are anti abortion, pro traditional marriage, against punitive taxes, pro Israel, and after 2,000 years of harsh exile we are very proud of this great nation that allows us to practice our religon faithfully.
      I consider Glenn a beacon of light in the media world, as well as Rush, and all the other coservative commentators.
      i fear for this nation because of what the left is doing the attack on morality and G-D is frightening. We must pray every day for the return to traditional values of our country, and that our youth should not be misled

      Claiming to be a Jew doesn’t make someone Jewish. It might help if you would make the effort to understand the terminology. My father was a member of the black panthers. Does that make me a black panther? My great grandfather was a run-a-way slave. Does that make me a slave? My great great grandfather was African. Does that make me African?

      I despise the black panthers, have no idea what it was, or could have been like to be a slave, and I sure as hell am not African. I am a free born American who believes that equal justice is there for those who will make the effort to earn their way through personal responsibility. The American way.

      Just because a person is born with Jewish bloodlines, does not mean that they are Jews. Judaism is something that is lived, not necessarily born into. All Israeli’s are not Jews, just as not all Jews are Israeli’s.

      I would hope that people could make the effort to learn that there were 2 Kingdoms in Israel, and not all of Israel followed after Judah, and are no more Jewish than the false prophet of islam.

What are the odds that the exact DNA that I have, and, to go further, the exact experiences I’ve have had that have shaped my personality, should come about? I have to say, and I think this is your point, that probability is as close to zero as it gets. Incalculably close to zero, an idea many here will find comfort in.

Given that my parents were trying to have children, and didn’t have any problems doing that (five siblings), the odds that “somebody” would be born is close to 1 (meaning 100%), with each of the zillions of possibilities of being the person they became the same as mine. If I – meaning “me” the product of genetics and my experiences – weren’t here, then, well I wouldn’t be here.
      It’s called the “anthropic principle” which is used by both religious and non-religious scientists. The Earth is a good example. The Earth is perfectly situated for life as we know it. It’s neither too far away, nor too close to the sun: our orbit, nearly circular, allows for liquid water (it doesn’t all freeze, nor boil away), something essential to life. Religious people take that as a sign that God put the planet in this exact place so that we could exist. Non-religious people say, well, if the Earth wasn’t perfectly situated, well, we wouldn’t be here to think about it.

      Choices are Paul, Bauchmann, and possibly Perry. I suspect Perry’s an insider as well but he says some pretty Conservative things.

      “New” Conservative does not exist. Yes NEO-Con was guised as “New” Conservative to label Democrats who supported war for democracy and is used today to attract Conservatives to detract from True Conservatism. What group plays the word game, Progressives. The roots of “New” Conservatism is based on Wilsonian roots and/or Trotskyist theory (permenant revolution) which is debated between the two. Wilson is not conservative. Trotskyist Theory is Marxist, revolution, not conservative. 

      “New” Conservatives is just a name for Socialists who like war. Who believe the end justify the means. Who believe in spreading “Democracy” thru finance (Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen) or thru war (Iraq, Vietnam, Israel).

      “New” Conservatives believe in social welfare (entitlements) and are more favorable of big government.

      Progressives (NEO-Cons) move away from the Constitution (Entitlements, Nation building, War for “democracy”, more government power)

      “New” Conservatives are not conservative at all. Nope not one bit. Wake up.

Its quiet clear that most Republicans and Conservative Just want to get Obama out of office and will vote for the person who stands the best chance of achieving that goal. Thats not Ron Paul

      Let’s remember correctly, you tried to attack my true definition of NEO-Con=Progressive. I then showed the definition that backed that up, gave history that backed that up and gave you an example of the one Constitutionalist (Conservative) who properly defines the two. 

      Yes, I‘m a supporter of Ron Paul because I’m not progressive at all. All Republican candidates besides Paul are Progressive. You may be right that Republicans will vote for anyone to get Obama out but that doesn’t mean the voted in will be better or less progressive. Probably will be worse unless Ron Paul. NEO-Cons have a lot in common with Obama, social policy and foreign policy. Entitlements, big government, war/nation building. They are the same and have same roots. That’s why nothing has changed and keeps getting worse. Wake up! 

      Ron Paul won the straw pole by a landslide. Maybe more are waking up then the Progressives on both side would like. 

      Constitutionalists are for the Constitution. Progressives march away from it. Which are you for you just made yourself sound progressive, equal to Obama!

      Answer this: Why should Israel stand up for America?

      Since you guys are all about navel gazing and looking out for the interests ONLY of America, shouldn’t we expect Israel to be the same? Don’t their agents and citizens have the right to act FIRST in the interests of their OWN country. I think to be consistent I would answer yes if I were you. I believe it to be that way.

I’m sure Mr Paul would say thanks for your support but you need to stop sounding like a College Preppie insisting you and only those in your group know the truth of the matter. My problem with Mr Pauls Libertarianism is his Foreign Policy that can be summed up in one word…. NONE… he thinks the world can and should get along without the United States. I disagree with withdrawing from the world and creating a “Fortress America” because it throws away all the lessons we learned in the last Century.

      Ron Paul has foreign policy based on the Constitution. NEO-CONS want to conquer the world. How has that worked out for us? NOT GOOD! 

      By saying you wouldn’t withdraw as the World Police, you are describing yourself as a NEO-con, PROGRESSIVE. You might as well vote for Obama because there is no difference. 

      It might upset you when truth is pointed out to you, it is still truth and you must learn to be honest to yourself. 

      Last Century we policed and conquered the world so I‘m not sure what your talking about and I don’t believe you do either.

      You are correct, your usually respectful and debate how we are suppose to. My “don’t call names” was reference to the others that just post insults and zero facts to Tech, opposite of what Beck advise we do. My mistake if you took that towards you. 

      America does not need Israel standing up for her. 

      Yes I know quite well how spying works. I still say you do not spy, lie, and manipulate your friends. That is wrong. 

      Yes America spies on Israel from the Agencies posts in Israel thru Jewish recruits in which Israel imprisoned. 

      If we are such close great good buddies, we wouldn’t need to spy. 

      If it is ok for Israel to spy by your definition it is ok for China to spy? You don’t spy on your friends. You trust your friends. 

      I hope to see your answers in regards to my first post. 

      As for your posts, they may have went to the last page as some have complained that was occurring. Not sure why…Stay safe.

      Attack would be saying I’m a poor representative, calling truth Newspeak, college preppie, falsely speaking of Paul, and pretty much all the posts you put up. 

      Let’s remember correctly. I posted. You replied to my post that NEO-Cons aren’t progressive, a lie or newspeak, and then continually avoided facts and just tried to distract by name calling. Once your ignorance or newspeak was proven incorrect by facts you then turned off topic to attack Paul, distraction.

      Only newspeak is coming from you. So do you see challenges to your newspeak as an attack?
