Beck on Faith Fight: ‘We Are Battling for the Very Soul of Each of Us & Our Nation’

Glenn Beck Discusses Catholic Mandate & Shares His Personal Faith JourneyIf you watched Glenn Beck on GBTV last night, you were treated to an intriguing, hour-long discussion about faith and values.

In addition to sharing his personal faith journey, Beck delved into important issues involving religious freedom. The conversation was mainly focused upon the battle that is raging between Catholics and the Obama administration over contraception and sterilization mandates.

(Related: ‘Wake Up’ & Join Catholics in Fight Against Contraceptive Mandate)

“Catholics should be awake today. Catholic colleges and Catholic hospitals and other Christian institutions are now going to be forced to violate their own belief system,” Beck said. ”The churches are under assault and the Catholics are just the first.”

Of the events that are unfolding, Beck highlighted his belief that there’s more than mere political arguments taking form.

“It’s spiritual warfare being waged by the forces of darkness — evil exists,” he said.

Below, see a clip from this discussion:

Following this, Beck brought together Catholic League president Bill Donohue, Rabbi Daniel Lapin of the American Alliance of Jews and Christians, and Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church in Texas, to discuss the issues surrounding the contraceptive mandate.

Donohue heralded the strong and unified response coming from the Catholic parishioners and leaders. He spoke specifically about the anti-Obama mandate letter that churches across the country read and distributed to members over the weekend.

“In terms of a uniform collective voice, I’ve never heard anything quite this strong,” Donohue explained. “[Church leaders are] imploring Catholics to get involved at every level…This was a public call to arms.”

Morris, an evangelical, explained how these new health care rules will impact every Christian denomination.

“It effects me because we have the same belief [as Catholics] about the right to life,” he said. “We don’t believe in any way, shape or form that the government should tell us that life begins at birth…”

Lapin, too, discussed these elements, while reiterating his pledge to offer Jewish support to the Christian cause.

“It has to be recognized as an act of savage anti-religious bigotry and…most of us Jews are not tribalistic. It’s not as if we only get worked up when assaults against Judaism take place…,” Lapin said. “I call and will, during the course of the rest of this week, be calling on American Jews to protest, in the most vigorous terms, this act of unprecedented anti-Christian bigotry on the part of the administration.”

See the discussion among these faith leaders, below:

Prior to this discussion, the show opened with Beck talking about the importance of God, while highlighting his own personal faith journey.

“I want you to know that I am a guy that a lot of people have a hard time listening to me when it comes to God, because I’m a guy who screwed up my whole life…,” he said.

Beck described going to church as a child and, despite challenges and questioning later in life, the intense personal relationship he has with the Almighty. This journey, he admits, was characterized by a great deal of questioning and searching that “seemed futile.” But, in the end, Beck changed his life and found the answers he had been searching for.

“[My journey] allowed me to have a personal relationship with God and I think that‘s important because that’s the way God speaks to people,” Beck said. “He talks to you about your life and me about my life.”

“I can stand here and tell you with absolute certitude that God lives, God cares, God is involved in our life. I know it,” he continued. ”We are not battling for the next election, we’re battling for the very soul of each of us and of our nation.”

It doesn’t take much of a intelligentsia to figure out that something is about to happen that will alter the world in ways that we cannot readily comprehend easily. We may not know exactly when or what, but their certainly seems to be a major event looming on the horizon! A few years ago I wrote this song to express my perception of how I felt events are unfolding. At the time I did not know things would occur this fast! As time went by it became clearer that we are in a special time period. The way events are happening should make you want to pay attention and take heed! I may or may not be right but I think we may be near or in “The End Times” http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_10381143 listen and see what I’m talking about!

The skies will open up during The Warning, and the
flames of Mercy will shoot up across the world.
REJOICE when you witness HIs Glory, for this, if
you are properly prepared for it, will be the most spectacular
example of His Mercy since the day of His Crucifixion.

On the flip side, if these messages are true, I understand what Jesus means about earthquakes, floods, fires, etc being worse, and not man made. As you know, it’s already happening.

      Welcome.
Took me a while to get thru my old habits, like thinking fear, etc.
Now, I look for new messages, several times a day, on this site, and
the http://www.holylove.org site, which is a little gentler.
My family members are still in denial, and can’t get passed the fear,
even though I reminded them, fear is not of God.
I’m praying, like I never prayed before.
      Peace & blessings.
Hope to see you in the New Paradise.

The world is about to end. Read Revelations if you doubt. These are the end of times, every word in the news speaks that truth. The coming Caliphate, the seizure of land and guns by the government, the establishment of concentration camps for dissidents (FEMA), the uprising of the Muslim religion, the communist movement to rob the the rich job creators of their wealth in our own country; it’s all foretold in the Bible.

For several years now I’ve fought to despair at the future that awaits us all, the future that is foretold by the Holy Bible. But now I’ve taken matters into my own hands. I’ve come to grips with my destiny and understand that if I do nothing now the end will be bleak for me and my family. So I acted.

The first thing I did was invest 75% of my savings in gold. I‘ve found Goldline to be a trustworthy company to take my money in exchange for valuable coins that by law the Government can’t seize. I’ve also loaded up on seeds to grow food for my family and to sell for profit after the apocolypse. I‘ve got got water and an entire room of guns and ammo to fend off all the moocher food stamp people who want what I’ve got. That‘s the scenario I’ve worked out in the most detail. Bring ‘em on!

I advise you to follow my advice, and now. Gold, then guns then food.

Nice job on the song! Jesus said that no man will know the day or hour when He returns but He did say that we would see the signs of the end times and know it was near. It will likely get real bad before his comming however. Be Ready! Repent, Stay in His Word, keep your family near, and tell others of the Lord Jesus forgiveness, grace mercy and everlasting life with Him in His Kingdom for All Believers in Jesus!

Selfishness such as your check list isn’t Christianity.

It is not a ritual or work you ignorant fool it is meditation on the divine mercy and grace of Christ. It is a little thing called prayer except it is not for selfish personal salvation but for forgiveness of others, you know, just like Christ directed all of use to do–pray for others.

@Teripa – Our holy and loving God, when I sin, give me the grace to repent quickly. May we confess our sins, commit to walking in holiness, and forsake that particular sin. Father, may we not merely feel guilty, but sorrowful enough to turn from our sin, and bear fruit that proves their repentance.

Lord, I pray that we would know the joy of having a clear conscience, and that by keeping short accounts with You we would be protected from a corrupt and seared conscience.

Father, I thank You again for the promise that when we confess our sins, You are faithful to forgive us. Lord, Your Word says: This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Heavenly Father, may we learn to repent like David in Psalm 32 and Psalm 51, humbly and truly seeking Your mercy and grace when we disobey You, experiencing Your washing and cleansing of our souls. May we ask You to create in them a clean heart to empower us to change, and may we know the joy and blessings of Your forgiveness through the work of Christ our Savior, amen.

Wow Poverty you said that the words of the chaplet of divine mercy was not biblical and that we are not called to meditate on the the marcy of Christ and pray for forgiveness of sins then you just did that very same thing in your own made up prayer using almost exactly the same language. Therefore by your own post your prayer is not biblical.

Amen. We are not battling for a piece of earth. Daniel survived in Babylon, he kept his faith even in the face of death. He didnt go around bashing everyone….he lived it! Live it people. Start with your neighbor. I debate my catholic friends often about theology, but though I firmly oppose much of catholic doctrine, I do not deny the fact that many of them have as strong a relationship with Christ as myself and other protestants. Some of us just “do church.” Whether Baptist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Non-denominational, we pay Christ “lip service!” Do we think He is ignorant of this? He knows hearts. He knows those who seek Him, regardless of the style of worship.

We may be arguing semantics, but it seems to me you ‘change’ by asking Him to help you.

If you knock, He will open…if you seek, He will help you find…if you ask, He will give it to you.

Thank-You for not having a Muslim on your panel because they DO NOT worship the same God (and it does make a difference). I agree with the Catholic on the panel—the administration’s goal is to mandate they perform abortions. The Catholics have been in the forefront in fighting against abortion and for that I applaud them.
Since Roe v Wade was inacted in 1973 we have killed over 50 MILLION babies in this country. (More than 2 of the pop. of Texas). The Lord cannot allow that to continue. Please consider the fruits of the spirit: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22) However Jesus also said:
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth.

When I see Glenn discussing this topic- which isn’t openly discussed anywhere else in the public eye, it gives me hope. If people of faith continue to walk blindly toward the slaughter and can’t look evil in the eye, how do we stand a chance?

Through Jesus Christ we find our eternal safety, and we already know how this story ends. But while there is time, we should be doing all we can to build up and encourage the Body of Christ. Glenn is speaking boldly, with courage. This is always an inspiration to me when I see anyone making a public stand for truth.

We need to wake up everyone we can while there is time. We need a Great Awakening, and if Glenn Beck can serve any part in bringing Christians together, coordinating efforts among all faiths to fight for freedom before it is gone, or to open the eyes of anyone who cannot see that these are indeed the end times which has been written of, then I will gladly stand with Glenn. As long as He stands with God, points to Christ and shines a headlight in the eyes of the enemy, I stand arm in arm, putting aside differences between us.

This is a spiritual battle, but while there is time, it is also a battle that can be fought in the open, by anyone determined to make the world a better place for others. There may come a time when we won’t be able to openly stand together so easily. Claim your freedom now! Together, we are stronger.

This is why there was an amendment for Separation of Church and State and freedom of religion.

The Catholic Church has caused tyranny in it’s Historical past.

I saw a website advocating Murder of Doctors just like the old wanted posters which have caused Murder in the Past. Thou Shalt Not kill.

My Church is composed of Americans from all political backgrounds and we are all Pro Life. That does not have any bearing in Politics.

We have a committee that is also taking up the distribution of products such as Viagra. How is that OK with the Catholic Church? The money behind it has the Catholic Church preforming Hypocrisy at the political level.

Separation of Church and State. Freedom of religion. The Constitution. The Bill of Rights.

That is what we must adhere to during the Corporate infiltration of our Political System.

SO you saw some guy who said he was Catholic say some things that don‘t even match with the Church’s teachings and you concluded that all Catholics are bad? You must be a professor of logic or something….

Here lets use real logic. What is the exact passage that separates church from state? “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”.

Now what does that mean? That means that Congress cannot pass a law that says “This is our national religion” or “You can’t do this religious activity”. That’s it. That’s your separation of Church and state. That does not mean that all government institutions must be secular. All it says is Congress cannot make a national religion and cannot stop people from practicing what ever religion they want.

DEW, Please, share with us all the Constitional, “amendment for Separation of Church and State”. Because all I’m familiar with is this, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”. That is a Damn Site different than the commonly misused “Separation of Church and State.”

Dewy, your post is very confusing:

“My Church is composed of Americans from all political backgrounds and we are all Pro Life. That does not have any bearing in Politics.”
-Do you believe murder should be illegal? If so, and you are pro-life (presumably believing that abortion is murder), then what part of the Constitution or Declaration does not apply??? “God-given rights”? “Right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”?

Murder is murder. While it is true that faith leads us to believe that life is given by God, an atheist can also be pro-life, simply believing that one person doesn’t have the right to murder another. As a matter of fact, I am surprised more atheists aren’t pro-life. It would certainly help in their argument that you can take God out of the conversation and still know the difference between right and wrong…

Pro-life arguments shouldn’t even have to be religious in nature. But the fact that it always comes down to faith leads me to believe that lack of faith truly warps one’s perception of truth and reality in this world as well as spiritually. This shouldn’t be a shocker. This is what the Bible says. “And they will believe a lie”. Denying “personhood” status to the unborn is actually dishonest.

In order to remain a credible news outlet, the minimum requirement is to proof your stories and headlines completely before you hit the Submit button, guys and gals. It is one thing for a casual poster to make errors; quite another when story after story submitted by the Blaze staff is riddled with typo after typo.

I can help you, but you have to contact me via my email to make it happen. I have the credentials to back up my offer.

Fath is short for fathoms, which means imagines or comprehends. (verb)
An example of fath is when you understand why something occurs.

Not “a” typo. Countless typos, at least several a day. It points to a lack of professionalism and undercuts credibility from any news source. It’s hard to take a place seriously that routinely makes spelling errors that most 4th graders would spot on a casual perusal.

      SO RIGHT!
Many have become so distant from their Creator,
and relaxed of how we are supposed to be focusing our
efforts of human life on God’s earth, with God’s Truth.
      #1. The TRUTH never changes.
#2. Disbelief in the TRUTH, does not change the Truth.
Hence, we have a lot of clenasing & repenting to do,
in order to be ready for His Second Coming.

Your lack of fath is well-placed. They finally fixed the headline, but they still don’t know the difference between effect and affect.
