Beck on O’Reilly: Obama‘s Contraception Mandate Is a ’War’ on Faith and Conscience

Donning a velvet sport coat, pipe and a wine glass full of soda in hand, the ever-debonair Glenn Beck made an appearance on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” Monday evening to discuss the Obama administration’s contraception mandate. For Glenn, the move is nothing short of an all out war on both faith and conscience.

“There is a war going on,” Glenn began. “Not just on faith” but also “on conscience.”

“It’s an attack telling us what to believe, and what to do, and to play inside their [administration's] guidelines.”

Glenn posited that the Obama administration is in fact making other‘s acquiesce to its own ’religion.’

O’bama is not concerned about november. He wants to further divide us, and create chaos…probably thinks the world will be in such disarray that there won’t be elections in november. Besides, I think he is less interested in prez of the US, trying to position himself for far more power in the NWO.

To me, Bill O has always seemed to lean toward a Moderate Liberal.

Last time I checked, the only way you could be given an award of any significance esp something to wear on your clothing was to be given by your superiors. Who gave Beck the Merit badge?

Listen! Beck has not served in the Armed Forces. He cannot coopt something he has not earned via the US military. To preach from that standard is false. Although I do agree with most of what he is digging up, he does not merit GW merit badge just doing so and liking him soooo very much.

People! There are those among us who will step forward and try to wash themselves in the works of others. I can tell you, what meager recognitions I earned on active duty are far greater than what Becks wears proudly without being awarded it by higher authority. Have you questioned this or are you simply just going to attack me right after this post?

You can’t talk about Love either if your refer to people as Zombies.

Becks show today regarding Obamas truth team.

I do not support Obama nor anyone in his admin.

What I want from you is to think for yourselves. Is this correct? Is what this man saying and why he says it correct. If so, correct according to what authority? God? If God then why the demonization of others?

Look into where the merit badge originally came from. Who’s idea was it to begin with? For what reason was it given originally? “Have you questioned this?”. Beck wears it in honor of it’s original intent….Not to bestow himself with it. Ask yourself who co-opted it from who?

I’ve always liked Bill. He reminds me of my own Dad. But, too often he says he doesn’t understand or says he cannot connect the dots. This disturbs me about Bill. I believe he is a bright man, but, I believe he either “pretends” not to “get it” or he doesn’t WANT to get it.
Personally I sometimes get the impression he is only claiming not to understand, asking a guest to explain it, in order to elliciting a response. However, that is not my instinct, my intuition here.
Here, I am getting a strong sense that Bill DOES get it, but that he is AFRAID TO ADMIT IT. Why?
Fox pressures? Viewer perception? Dunno. But I do think Bill isn’t being completely forthright and honest.

I think O’Reilly is in the same situation Beck was in with CNN and Fox. The difference is that Beck is smarter and more principled than O’Reilly and said…..”enough.” Beck had the courage to do something about it. O’Reilly does not.
Think about it……Beck hoped that Fox would give him the latitude to operate freely, but ultimately he came to a dead end.
O’Reilly is typical of many weak-willed Catholics. They are unsure of their faith, and many are unwilling to believe we are nearly down to our knees. They will soon find out!
They need not come to me and ask….”why did this happen.” I’ll let them know that it was because of unlearned Americans like them that we are in the situation we are in.

Whats to keep one from just simply wearing the medal of honor? One could say as you have that he is simply wearing it in honor of those who actually earned it. Look there is no fine line here to tread on. You can’t wear something that was not awarded directly to you.

If the president of the United States wants to commend Beck for his tireless service to this country with the medal of freedom, then I’ll be fine with that and I would be more than happy to do the write up.

I think that three Navy Commendation medals, two Navy Achievement medals and five good conduct medals trumps your argument. Don’t disparage my service to the country we both love and cherish to defend your points. I only question it as well and while doing so commend Beck for what he has accomplished in waking this nation up. I don’t appreciate being slammed for asking questions when I clearly am a supporter. But I will never ever be someones worshipper….theres the difference. He is only a man! When someone like me asks some questions or see‘s some things that don’t add up, I will speak up! If speaking up gets me slammed then I am in good company with Beck, but whats funny is that it comes from those who follow him and act as his chief defenders if anyone says anything at all. That in and of itself is dangerous and creates a climate of fear.

Question the Skull with the Crown. I know what he has stated about this but you have to understand that the SKULL is now permeating our culture and it means many things to many people. We need to have distinct lines to what those meanings are and in this day and age as it all gets melded together.

A caller today questioned the Skull and Crown…fine, the answer fine to. I am looking beyond that as you should too. Baal comes in many forms. Could this be one?

I think the fix is in for him to have another term. And probably last time too. I think this contraceptive mandate was a premature move. He will likely continue to disregard the will of the people, the constitution and congress and get away with it all. There will be more mandates. Lots of them. The power Congress, the House and Senate and Supreme Court hold will be compromised. Leading to a long line of dictators. Old people won’t get care. Young people will have less babies. And a venereal disease epidemic explodes when we abandon condoms for more expensive contraceptives which will all help him to reduce our population. By the way. What happened to our soldiers he sent to Africa to hunt Christians? How many and when are they coming home? Sneaking in another war? Tell me that didn’t benefit one of his relatives. Is one of them a war monger? We have too big of a population, too many rights, too big of an army and too many guns. And we are not poor enough to control. All this can be corrected with more mandates. Cathollic Bishops can’t turn this around alone. Millions of people in this country and we stand around with our fingers up our noses and let this be done to us by one man because he says so. And he is doing it so easy.

    ..

I agree with Glenn on this. When this story originally broke I posted that this could be the most important battle for freedom of religion in the 21st century or even in the history of this nation.
We will win this battle but do not expect the war on religion to cease. This is just one of many battles that we face.

Dr. Land and Barrett Duke wrote an op-ed which made two excellent points.

1)”The Obama administration has declared war on religion and freedom of conscience,” they wrote. “We consider this callous requirement by the Obama administration to be a clear violation of our nation’s commitment to liberty of conscience and a flagrant violation of our constitutional protection to freedom of religion.”

    2) the government protects other Christians from violating their consciences by exempting pacifists from serving in the military, but “the administration is refusing to allow those who believe that abortion is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being to follow faithfully the dictates of his or her conscience on a matter as grave as the death of an unborn child.”

“A person who is not free to follow the dictates of his or her moral conscience is not free,”

For fellow Christians I would recommend the Manhattan Declaration.

O‘Reilly can’t help himself with that almost-outright giggle of his, and I don’t understand why Glenn wastes his time. O’Reilly does not take Glenn seriously about his theories (which are, for the most part, well thought-out) and it looks like O’Reilly is using Glenn for a moment of diversion in his otherwise “heavy” show (not). I don’t know, but this is all getting to me lately: the contraception diversion, Keystone pipeline, Republican candidates who just don’t see what the REAL argument is (it’s NOT Obama – it’s the LEFT taking over – that’s the true REALITY), trying to survive – it all STINKS. And Obama is going to walk away scott-free, whenever it may be, after he tears us down and makes us just like Greece – the s.o.b. Sorry folks, but I’m reaching my limit these days.

He’s getting people up in arms about the religious freedom to keep them from seeing how he, congress and the supreme court are dismatling other aspects of the constitution. If “We the People” are so focused on the 1st amendment we won’t recognize how our 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, & 10th amendments are also being destroyed. Religious folks are gavitating towards Santorum who cares a great deal about protecting the first, but cares little about the rest. It’s a win win for the chipping away our freedom, which in the end secures their power.

obama will find a way to get his votes, if he cant open the gate hell jump over it, if we build it higher hell pole vault over it, if that doesnt work hell parachute in. Weve got to vote him in so we can see whats in the bill. What do we do if that happens? Ask for a recount? Use all caps and “yell” at him on posts? What would we do. Just brainstorming

      Dave,
Obama is a true believer. As such, he really doesn’t care if he is re-elected or not, though he would prefer it. He just needs to leave the system with some little parting gifts for the next guy to work with. It is simply changing builders in the middle of the project, the architectural drawings stay the same. Obama is simply implementing a contingency plan. If he does get re-elected he can hit the ground running at full speed and throwing out “executive orders” left and right. As far as he is concerned it is a win-win for “the cause”.
What are the “Fundamentals” of this country that he vowed to change in ‘08?
      Religious liberty
      Individual rights
      Self-reliance
      Work ethic
      Fiscal discipline
      Independent thought
      Out of many one
To date, which one has he not pro-actively attacked and degraded through his policies?

In his first term he has attacked all of them, but the battle is not complete, in his second term he would burn them to the ground.

    Top down: Birth control mandate
Bottom up: Church refuses to obey
What is going to happen to the middle? We must be very careful not to riot in the streets, etc. and give Obama an excuse to declare martial law and suspend elections.

Hey, Beck…… you need to hire Judge Napolitano to do Freedom Watch on GBTV since FBN unceremniously dumped his high rating show with no reason given last Thursday. I don’t know how much more time they at Fox are giving him before the reruns start and he is gone.

What the hell is up with these people over at Fox. O‘Reilly’s become a bigger windbag than usual and there aren’t any conservatives anymore. Bolling will be next.

I have a friend who’s been on this story about Fox News for awhile. There is a major shift going on internally. New hires connected to George Soros. I hadn’t heard about the Judge but chalk that up to one more curiousity. We need to have our skeptical senses going when we watch this network. They can do more damage because they are perceived as conservative thought by the mainstream sheep. I think Glenn was truly inspired to leave that network. We need more Glenn Beck in all of us. On our facebooks, blogs, websites, online news commentary, and letters to our editor. We have to be the real news now to our Countrymen. Maybe we should branch out from the blaze and write in other places.

The reason Glenn Beck left his television program was the threats against the employees of his program and the “guerrilla warfare” against Fox News and Rupert Murdoch’s businesses.
Bill O’Reilly and other TV hosts have been warned not to mention the birth certificate issue, Soros, etc.
You could see Bill O’Reilly try to cut off Glenn when he mentioned Soros.

I agree. How do you feel about Jemu Green? Sally Corn? Fox has LOST it’s mind hiring these clowns. When I see Geraldo—I immediately change the channel. HE HAS NO CREDIBILTY.
Ditto for that loon Alan Combover.

The reason Fox got rid of Beck is that he scared off sponsors. He got decent ratings, but you can’t make any money off a 5 P.M. show with 5 A.M. sponsors.

The birth control mandate is unconstitutional. Obama has broken his oath to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America. He must be impeached.

You can’t impeach the president for trying to exceed his authority. It was always expected that all politicians would try to exceed their authority, that’s why we have a separation of powers. The Constitution requires the President to take an oath and says that he can be impeached for committing a crime, but there is no actual law making it a crime for him to not follow his oath. People who demand that the President be impeached for breaking a law that doesn’t exist show no more regard for the Constitution and the rule of law than the worst politician in Washington.

This is just another example between Network TV and internet TV.
OReilly is mainstream that tows the company line.
Beck is now able to say what needs to be said.
Bill does not want to believe in these theories
Beck doesn’t care whan networks execs think.

Beck is right. Recreate 68 is coming to a summer theater near you this year

Beck is right about this and I’m glad he has the courage to stand up and say something.
