Glenn Beck’s critics called him crazy for choosing Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas — the largest sports arena in the United States — to hold his historic Restoring Love event. However, not even he could have predicted just how wildly successful it would actually turn out to be.
A source familiar with the event told TheBlaze that there were more than 40,000 tickets sold to Restoring Love as of Friday afternoon. A number larger than when Sir Paul McCartney played in the same arena in 2009. McCartney sold about 36,000 tickets. The number just goes to show how much public support Beck enjoys.
Based on the set-up of the event, a little more than 40,000 tickets that would provide clear site lines and high-quality audio were made available, the source explained.
“I am very grateful for everyone‘s dedication and commitment to this weekend of service and it’s important that the spirit of the actions demonstrated this weekend are a beginning, not an end,” Beck told TheBlaze.
However, ticket sales are just a small part of the overall success of Restoring Love. The weekend of service resulted in churches being rebuilt, the homeless being fed and love being spread. And that’s what it was all about in the first place.

I thought it was worth it.and I’m thankful for GBTV! I have nothing but praise for Glenn for what he has done. Who else could say.”I‘m going to have a program the end of July and I’d like you to come for 3 days. One of the days, I want you to donate your time and help out some other people who are unable to do for themselves, oh, and do this in 100 degree plus heat, oh, and this all on you. And the people came; they did all the work, cheerfully, some asking for more to do.
To all the naysayers, get bit!!! You couldn’t do what Glenn did in a million years ! Cease and desist!!!

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 4:40amThe comments by the lefties on here are actually funny. Just because an event is cheaper or free doesn’t mean people will show up for the event. People will go for free stuff but not for an event. $10 tickets versus $200 tickets doesn’t matter. In order to fill the stadium the way it looked filled means that there were more than 40,000 there and the pre-sale of the tickets plus those coming later were more. The article makes the comparison to the Paul McCartney show. Well celebrities will get crowds. The people showing up for Beck were there for a different purpose than just seeing Beck. Liberals want to argue over this? It is just silly. Why waste their time to argue or get on here?

Well, Sir Paul McCartney’s tickets were $100 bucks each, a little more than Beck’s. But whatever, thread does show the truth doesn’t it? This thread does show a Truth: this is a money making venture for Beck. This is just another way for him to make a buck. Good for him. This is a capitalistic country and I admire him for selling more tickets than Sir Paul McCartney for entertainment, although his profit will be less, although still substantial.

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 10:38amJZS, Beck did it for quite a different “profit” than what you think. He did it to show the world that we are, at our cores, human beings who care about each other. Who will take time out of their busy lives to help another in need. This is only the beginning of people helping others. Many who attended the day of service will take that back with them to their different cities, states, and countries to start serving others locally. Beck is only spreading love. Something the left touts, but never follows through with, as they’d rather sit back and let the government do it for them.
All this hate, negativity spewed on here just goes to prove that we need more love in our world. We need to start looking at what unites us, and stop looking at what divides us!

So Sir Paul will tell you Now that it’s…

Went to see 2016 today- seeing it laid out as the movie did makes it even scarier than I already knew it to be. ANYBODY but Obama -we need more time – Romney slows this train wreck down

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 1:23pmYou wish…go back to sleep and dream a little more. Believe everything the media feeds your small feeble brain. The truth always wins in the end and it doesn’t matter what you think or say any more. We know how many americans really want what is best for this country and those numbers grow bigger every single day. There are those who have seen the light and have started seeking other sources of truthful information and there are those like you who can’t be bothered. Your comments aren’t even worth addressing they are so childish and pathetic. Have a good life.

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 10:17pmI never could really enjoy any Rock Concerts going up in the 50‘s and 60’s. When I went, I could not understand how people could worship a band and always thought they should be praising Jesus that way, not a bunch of muscians. I just went to the store and bought the music and listened to it at home or with friends. What a bunch of lovely people.

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 10:33pmThe Democratic convention is scheduled to be at Lowes Motor Speedway and they cannot get that filled. I am not sure how many that holds, but who in that county wants to see Obama.
Report Post »izzy1127
Posted on July 29, 2012 at 12:17amNo, they cancelled Charlotte, not Lowes anymore, Motor Speedway several weeks ago. They knew it couldn’t come near to being filled. And by watching the program tonight, looks like 3 levels were pretty much full at the Dallas Cowboy stadium, and they went all the way around. Concerts black out seats behind the band.

Report Post »Paul Tickets run between $200 to $400.Plus Live Nation, Ticketmaster, etc have to get their share.
So You either saying Obama has improved the economy since 2009,or $10 is a lot less. That is about all this story proves.

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 9:48pmWell, let’s get Obama to try to get the stadium to save his sorry Regime. Then we can argue numbers.
Actually, we ARE arguing his sorry numbers. They don’t look good.

(Been to the store lately? That ain’t cheap!) But for people like you Beck can never do anything that would please you. So all that’s left is for you to ignore all the facts and vote for Obama again in November.

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 10:05pmThis story proves that liberal idiots loons will spend money on a $400 concert ticket because we the tax payers are paying the rest of their bills. The people at Restoring Love are paying the cost of living for a lot of deadbeats, but still care enough to spend hundreds of dollars to go to Dallas so they can buy a $10 ticket to this event to show everyone how much they love this country. That is what this story proves.

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 10:12pmSir Paul makes $40-$50 million a year in royalties. He doesn’t have to leave the house for that. Why does he charge $400 for a ticket?? Shouldn’t he be helping the “99%” by giving tickets away?

Posted on July 28, 2012 at 9:41pmWell,as a Beatlefreak from day one (I’m 60) this is no surprise. Sir Paul has been a vegetarian advocate and a total Socialist for many years. He even slagged off George Bush and sucked up to the Obamas at the White House.
Actually, I remember him in the Beatles and Wings and later with fondness, but I remember him lateley like I remember Jane Fonda, without fondness, and have not bought his recordings for several years.
Sorry, Paul. Time to retire. You have embarassed yourself and put yourself in the same positiion as John Lennon. The music was good, but we don’t care what you think. We have more than enough people who think they can tell us what and how to think, thank you very much….!

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 10:03amActually the ticket prices varied, some were $10. They also sold out of $1000 and $5000 ticket packages. There were packages for $500,000. I, like others, bought a $10 ticket and made an additional donation to Mercury One. The $10 tickets allows most people to afford to attend if they want. The donations, higher priced packages, and day of service to others allows people to support a cause they believe in. What’s wrong with that?

Posted on July 29, 2012 at 1:40pmThat is so true only rich people would be able to go see Paul while Beck, who footed most of the cost for the stadium himself..in the millions I believe…reached out to everyone, encouraging parents to bring their families because this was an event to light the fire of liberty, hope, and love. Mock it if you want, it resonates with somany people it a movement that will only get larger as we get closer to the election.
