Renowned Beck Photographer Shares Experience at ‘Day of Service’: ‘One of the Most Awesome Scenes I’ve Ever Seen’ (Updates With Service Site Pics)

Exclusive live and on-demand coverage of Restoring Love available now on GBTV Plus – Click for Details.

A crowd estimated to be in the thousands flocked to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX, in the wee hours of Friday morning to spread out to about 300 service sites across the Dallas-Ft. Worth area as part of Glenn Beck’s Restoring Love event.

Buses lined up for blocks around the stadium in the pre-dawn hours to bring the massive crowd across the metroplex. On radio, Beck estimated the number to be about 30,000 people.

Blaze reporter Billy Hallowell, who’s following along with one group, reported police were trying to clear out buses as fast as possible due to the massive number.

“It‘s one of the most awesome scenes I’ve ever seen,” Beck photographer George Lange, who was himself on the way to a service site, told Beck on radio.  “I’m at Mission Arlington, and there are 400 volunteers here.”

Asked to describe what it was like, Lange compared it to two years ago on the National Mall for Restoring Honor: “It felt like that moment at 8/28 and we peeked out and saw the size of the crowd and everyone burst into tears.”

“I just thought that everything you talk about is happening right here right now, live,” he added later.

And even though Lange leans to the Left, he said that hasn’t mattered with the Restoring Love crowd.

“I have been invited in and embraced by everyone. … It feels like we’re all human beings taking care of each other.”

He concluded: “It’s very powerful.”

Photographer George Lange captures some of the early bustle:

Nope. Don’t think so. Don’t see one real person doing anything charitable. I do see quite a few right wing propaganda shirts and buttons, though. I see plenty of people there in the name of Glenneth Beck. No doubt his name was mentioned at least once. This wasn’t organized for charity. This was a publicity stunt and these people were used by Beck for free advertising.

People like Fox HOLE Atheist have a right to their opinion. What is unfortunate is that he/she wants to inflict emotional duress on other people for their basic belief system. He/She is catty, that’s all. FoxHOLEAtheist at some point doesn’t feel loved or worth anything. He/She doesn’t believe in science obviously, because if you believe in science, you believe in GOD! The Law of Conservation of Mass tells us this. That law yielded other scientific discoveries including ATOMIC THEORY. Yet, geniuses like FHA feel like they have to belittle ‘believers’ so they feel other than the empty shell their life is. HEHEHEHEHEHAHAHAH lol. so….Genius, if you believe in science, which you MUST, because you’ve ruled out GOD….where did the original matter of the UNIVERSE come from?

Flag10First, we don’t know, but what we do know is that the Bible has no answers and we do not accept a god of the gaps explanation. If we did, we would never have traveled to the moon or created a vaccine or invented a latex condom. We may or may not ever find out but if we do, I can guarantee you that it won’t be because of a god of any kind. Why do I know this? I know this because every time we make a discovery, it has never involved god. I expect this trend to continue fully as we evolve.

      @Foxhole

you know what you piece of trash…I and my 9 and 7 year old left home today at 7:15 and were onsite at 8am to find the entire section 10 parking lot of Cowboy Stadium filled with people streaming in from all directions, some walking, some on charter bus.
Sure there was some disorder and chaos but there were over 250 buses and vans and everyone was looking for their specific number.
We rolled out of the parking lot in convoys going every direction at 8:45….
We were onsite at our Day of Service site by 9:15 and stayed until 12 pm..
We worked our butts off…even my kids…what did you do today? Clean your basement room in your mom’s house?
When we returned there were still streams of people heading out for the afternoon session… 1000′s of yellow vests walking around…everyone was happy and tired but you could tell that it was special….
THIS IS CHARITY! Nobody got paid! Nobody said “we are here to honor Glenn Beck”. Most of the people we ran into didn’t even know we were there for Mercury One but that we were just volunteers and they were HAPPY we came to help. Nobody was pushing Glenn or Mercury products or looking for publicity. We were GIVING of ourselves..something I am sure you don‘t understand because Liberals only want to give of others through governmental agencies that take other people’s money but never theirs..
but oh well…wouldn’t expect someone like you to understand…you are to be pitied as pathetic…

FOXHOLE: YOU cannot prove there is no GOD. But those of us who have experienced Miracles and have studied the Bible extensively I KNOW there is a GOD and I KNOW He created everything.
ONE OF US IS RIGHT. God draws you near to Him. IF you deny Him, then He puts you on a shelf (as in bye-bye) and since you weren’t open to the possibility of God, you would never have Eternal Life.

IF you are right, then I’ve lost nothing. I’ve lived a decent life, I’ve been comforted in times of trouble, healed in times of sickness. I know I’m right, however, and I know that Atheists miss it all !! DUDE, Where do you think LOVE came from? You think that Conscience came from an exploding rock?
REALLY, DUDE. PS: I am past caring what you little boys think, but take your toys and go home, it’s obnoxious to the majority who are fortunate enough to believe in GOD! :) I hope you wise up.

Patty, there are no such thing as miracles. You may witness things that you have no explanation for, but a true miracle works outside of the laws of physics. To defy physics is impossible, therefore miracles are impossible.

It’s not up to me to prove there is no god. It’s up to you to prove there is one. You have to do the convincing. All I do is just sit here and “no, there isn’t”. I’m not trying to prove anything, but the Xtians certainly are every time they try to stop me on the street or picket a group I am in, or come to my door on a weekend.

You sound like a ‘just in case’ kind of Xtian. That is not a very smart wager to make. This life is most precious to me and I refuse to waste it on another person’s lie. What is faith but a belief without evidence? I require evidence to believe in something so fantastic. There isn’t any and you know it.

Your god sounds really loving and compassionate. Believe in me without evidence or sit on a shelf and be forgotten, or burn, or whatever you perceive as hell. Thanks, but if your god turned out to be real, and not a prehistoric coping mechanism, what makes it think it’s earned my respect in the first place?

You KNOW there’s a god? How dishonest of you. No one knows that and anyone who says they do is the worst kind of dishonest.

@foxhole I have experienced miracles that defy the laws of physics.

And what is SCIENCE? All it is, is measurement of what you can observe! And what about the things you are (yet) incapable of measuring? By definition, science must ignore them. That does not mean they do not exist.

Based on your level of arrogance and persistence, you either once relied on God (capitalized for respect) and was let down – or you were forced into religion and hated it.

I suspect that deep down you know God and must vehemently deny him to assauge your own guilt. I have dealt with many of your type and know, by experience, the moral rot you vent.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that progressive liberals and “civil rights leaders”…I use the term loosely…condemn black Americans who admit to being educated, God fearing, conservatives that defend the constitution and work hard to contribute to the system rather than being enslaved by it, while refering to them as Uncle Toms or worse. How pathetic some people have become in their arrogant belligerent attitudes toward other human beings. It is time for all americans to stop with the racism and start with the healing. Every time we start to heal those who want nothing more than to manipulate you and me rip the scab off and start the bleeding all over again. People need to recognize that the expansion of the federal gov has been our downfall. Both GOP and Progressives…there are no democrats anymore. In fact I would be willing to go so far as to say that the GOP has become the democratic party. We don’t need a two party system we need to turn the controls back over to the states and keep the feds in place. We need to understand that an unemployed person is not red or blue, they are american and whether you want to admit it or not if we don’t suck it up and start looking out for each other in this country we will be but a failure in history and a laughing stock to boot. WAKE UP PEOPLE! It is now or never!

There are about 12% of Blacks in this country. About 90% of them are democrats, therefore, only about 1.2% are republicans or independent. This means that only about 1 out of every hundred people there should be black. Considering that blacks are also disproportionately affected by recession, I would suspect that number should be divided by 3 or 4, since many people just won’t have the means to get there. So, we should only have about 1 black person per 300/400 participants. That probably was the case. I saw the same at the “restoring honor” rally in DC. Obviously, these are just approximations, but it would tell any reasonable person, that black people are represented there and we just may not see them on these pictures. Just a thought.
By the way, to our “FHA” friend (what an appropriate abbreviation for a lib (Fed. Housing Admin.): even if you don’t believe in G-d, couldn’t you see that 10 commandments are just laws of coexistence. If everyone followed them (don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t envy etc.) – we’d have no problems in this world. Try and think about it, rather then go off insulting people. (Steven Hawkins, by the way, does not say: there is no G-d).

Come on, these people aren’t paid and they are helping, volunteering, trying to do good… can you please look past the money you were given and stop acting like a mindless robot for once, stop letting others tell you what to do.

Just stop, take a deep breath, clear you mind and just look…. you see good there, you see people coming together to help others, not to receive freebies or handouts, just to be good…. there is good in ALL OF US…. we have to stop being selfish and worrying about what the gov’t and others should GIVE YOU and its time to realize that YOU need to help your family, friends, neighbors. Just hold a door open for someone, even if they don’t even say thank you, don’t do it for the thank you, just do it because its a good thing and the right thing.

Its time to end the divisiveness and bickering, we are not LEFT, we are not RIGHT, we are ALL AMERICANS, lets show each other who we really are, how no matter who you are, rich, poor, black, white, left, right… we ALL stand together and help one another, lets be AMERICANS again, lets show the world what America used to be and what we can be again, together as one.

      @Fox.
Remember there is a BIG difference between writing a check to some organization and actually rolling your sleeves up and doing some good old fashioned volunteering.

Oh and dude he’s not doing this for free advertisement, he’s trying to restore true American values and principles. Now this is the part where you call me an indoctrinated fool. Go ahead. but at least I have peace of mind that I went out and helped somebody, that I did a charitable thing. You on the other hand will just continue to call foul.

They most certainly are giving Beck free advertisement. If they wanted to do real service, take off any buttons on the vests and do it without a camera there (understanding vests themselves are on for safety reasons). No doubt the people they were “helping” knew what group they were with. It’s just like Xtian charity. “Sure, you can eat but first, listen to us preach at you.” There were too many photo-ops for me to be even a tiny bit impressed. These kids are being indoctrinated into the Beck school of fear and conspiracy theories. I‘m surprised that the kids didn’t hand out John Birch Society pamphlets during all of this.

well good for you then! let me retract my last statement and ask for forgiveness! But I think your missing the point beck is trying to make with this event and creating a falsehood. Vest or not he’s trying to jump start the heart of America by doing this. the vest those people are wearing have the logo of his charity that is powering the event. I think the only advertising going on here is that Beck is trying to show other Americans that it is still possible to roll your sleeves up and do some charitable work. If you think he’s indoctrinating these children for doing just that I cannot agree with you.

      Posted on July 27, 2012 at 4:22pm

This is not true charity. This is Glenn’s way to get his name out there. He’s a business man, plain and simple. He‘s always been dishonest and he’s an addict in search of another fix. That fix just happens to be in the spotlight, making money.

Not indoctrinated? Just ask any of those kids about George Sorros, they’ll tell you exactly what their parents want them to say, which is exactly what Beck tells them.

Glenn Beck is a conspiracy nutcase and his diseased mind knows just what his listeners want to hear. While he himself is nothing but a two-bit scam artist, he’s smart enough to know that fear, hatred, and anger sells better than love and compassion. It’s why end of days book authors and people like Michelle Bachman are welcomed on his show.

      1. please define your version of charity. because I know the dictionary‘s version and Glenn’s version are the same. Indeed Glenn is a business man. and he’s a freakin good one I might add. And you know what he does with his talents? He does events like this and delievers informative information THAT HE CAN BACK UP! next time your at the store go to the book section. pick up a copy of Glenn’s book and go straight to the back. there you will find an index full of footnotes where he shows evidence of what he’s saying! All of his sources come from trusted sites or books! you just choose not to believe. and that’s fine. we will see who wins in the end.

      2. first off, are you trying to defend sorros?! secondly, you fail to realize the concept of indoctrination you are trying to smear Glenn with. when a child hears what their parents say they trust them 100%. you and I have both done it, so don’t deny it. Are you saying children should deny everything their parents say and research themselves? no they can‘t because they are children for god’s sake! And if you say volunteering to fix peoples porches and feed the hungry is not charity, you need to fix yourself. throwing money at a charity is not true charity. rolling your sleeves up and doing the work yourself for others!

I can’t attend due to getting a new job but I find it no coinsidence that it is happening right after Restoring Love. I am increasingly amazed at how negative the left is! It shouldn’t matter what side you are on..this is an awesome thing. What is bad about helping folks?

Come armed with something other than opinion, though.

Regarding Chick Fil a – Heard that Wed. August 1 is a Chick fil-a BUYCOTT day – I am not going to buy my lunch there that day – I am going to buy lunch for the volunteers at my local Congressman’s campaign office – look up their catering menu on-line. Help Chick fil a and local patriots win re-election. Restore Honor Restore Love Restore Hope

I am buying lunch at Chick Fila on Wednesday for the whole office! Since the LGS thinks they have the right to boycott, I will make a special point of stopping at Chick Fila from here on in. The owner has the right to voice his loyalty to god without gays anger. They need thicker skin and acceptance of reality and truth, the lifestyle they live, will kill them and one day, they will stand before god.

Mike Huckabee actually declared Aug. 1 as Chick-fil-A appreciation day.
I will be eating at Chick-fil-A that day, to show my support.
I’ll be in good company. Billy Graham said he was eating at a Chick-fil-A that day.
I think Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee will be eating at a Chick-fil-A too.
God bless Mr. Cathy and Chick-fil-A.

What are the odds this was a ‘planned move’ by CEO Cathy KNOWING the ‘lefties’ would jump all over it to cause an increase in national revenues? — I dunno; but that appears to be the modus operandi to gin up free advertising these days. — btw — it’s a CHICKEN store… I could care LESS about the guys ‘personal views.’ -

The old guard politicians are going to hear the message loud and clear; The people of America are waking up, and we are taking the nation back. The shockwave sent loose in 2010 will pale compared to what is coming this November.

Lets just pray that the spirit of this event impacts the culture at large, and wakes people up to the insidious strain of destructive liberalism that has creeped into the American experience. Beck is a modern day Paul Revere.

Well done analogy…Beck n Paul Revere! The mainstream press works to hide the ever growing strength of conservative/Christian movements because they are in perpetual fear
