Beck Praises GOP, Romney for Adopting Nearly All of FreedomWorks 12 Platforms

The Republican Party has come under fire in recent years for what many believe is the GOP’s break from truly conservative principles. In turn, presidential contender Mitt Romney has also drawn ire from a contingent of conservatives for what they consider his moderate, and at times, inconsistent stance on various policies and platforms. But all of that may be changing. Thus far, the GOP has adopted “11.5″ of FreedomWorks’ 12 conservative platforms, revealing to Glenn Beck that the small-government, pro-liberty movement is indeed powerful and can effect change.

On Tuesday FreedomWorks announced that the Republican Platform Committee has adopted “11.5 of the 12 proposals outlined in the ‘Freedom Platform,’” the grassroots organization released earlier this month.

“FreedomWorks applauds the GOP for demonstrating a commitment to conservative philosophy, accountability, and the kind of bold reforms our country needs,” said FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe in an official press release. “The 2012 GOP platform isn’t perfect, but the inclusion of 95 percent of the Freedom Platform is sure to create enthusiasm among the limited government conservative base come November.”

According to the official press release, the only element of the Freedom Platform not adopted was the proposal to “Eliminate the Department of Education.” FreedomWorks Vice President Dean Clancy explained:

“We did not secure approval for ‘Eliminate the Department of Education’ – which, to be honest, was always the plank we regarded as most difficult to achieve. But the document’s education section does contain good language on the need for local control and a very strong endorsement of school choice, including vouchers. So we rate this section as a partial victory.”

All in all, the GOP seems to be adopting a clear mandate for 2012. What’s more, between choosing Paul Ryan to run for vice president and rumors that Romney would tap Jay Sekulow to become a Supreme Court Justice, Beck believes the Republican nominee is making the right choices and proving he seeks to be true to the small-government, fiscally-responsible tenets of conservatism.

For those unfamiliar, Sekulow, one of the “25 most influential Evangelicals in America,” according to TIME Magazine, is a leading lawyer in the arena of religious freedom and has been a champion of expanding liberties and civil rights. TIME even considers the formidable attorney “a powerful counterweight to the ACLU.” Beck noted that while Sekulow may not be Romney’s ultimate choice should he be elected, the nod indicates the direction in which he is leaning, as well as who might be advising him.

Beck observed that the GOP establishment is indeed changing and that the priority must be on seeing Romney and Ryan elected. He ceded that conservatives will still be tough and hold the two men accountable should they falter, but that they deserve the chance to prove themselves.

For reference, FreedomWorks “12 for 12” platforms are as follows:

1)      Repeal Obamacare; Pursue Patient-Centered Care
2)      Stop the Tax Hikes
3)      Reverse Obama’s Spending Increases
4)      Scrap the Code; Replace It with a Flat Tax
5)      Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment
6)      Reject Cap and Trade
7)      Rein in the EPA
8)      Unleash America’s Vast Energy Potential
9)      Eliminate the Department of Education
10)   Reduce the Bloated Federal Workforce
11)   Curtail Excessive Federal Regulation
12)   Audit the Fed

These are the ones they can tackle without worrying about the follow-on election in 2016. That is where the rubber will really hit the road…so here is the next twelve…

      1. Term limits for all elected positions. No more than twelve years in any one position, Politics is service not a career.
      2. Eliminated the Department of education after the “reforms” fail in the next four years due to internal organizational obstacles (liberals is positions of power that are not initially removed)
      3. Elimination of the Department of Commerce…same as above
      4. Complete control of all borders and removal of illegal folks who came for economic reasons and refuse to assimilate.
      5. No more aid to countries that are clearly our enemies.
      6. No more using our military as policemen for the world.
      7. New military engagement policy…short term…go in break stuff…kill bad people…and then get out.
      8. Flat tax and the dismantling of the IRS.
      9. New law holding Government size to percentage of GDP.
      10. New law that makes congress help to the same laws as everyone else.
      11. Investigations into congressional members for illegal activities and corruption…then removal and jail time.
      12. Set new limits on government programs so that people don‘t stay on subsidy or welfare without working to earn it and no sitting at home watching the TV doesn’t count as work.

I realize that these are big dreams but what the heck…OK some might have to wait until 2020 after Ryan i

Sustainable development policies must be rooled back for all of it comes from the un agenda 21.Nafta and other trade agreements that has distroyed the American worker is still in play with new agreements like the Trans pacific which gives power to the corporations. All of the above are part of the global governance that George H Bush spoke about in a speech he gave during his term.Romney has met several times with Bush regime and his aids are Bush polical hacks. Will he dismiss this agenda? When governor he put in place all of the Sustainable development polices. Does he get it? We are not stupid and will fight for our freedom from the Globalist elite.

Here’s the thing, many blacks, Latinos, women, some elderly, and many young adults under 30 are going to vote for Obama almost no matter what. In their minds the GOP is freaking out because they are a bunch of old crusty white guys clenching onto their money and power. It’s sad really because most of my life I was watching Hollywood, and the school system build the playing field, and yard-lines. All the while I’d say to people “What about that yard-line over there, what will that do to America, or that yard-line over there?“ Them saying ”Shut-up, and stop interrupting my fun, stop making waves. What’s wrong with you.” Alas, it wasn’t something wrong with me, it was something wrong with you. As Joe Biden put it you were “Squealing Pigs” diving into your slop, despises my Apathy for your achievements, loathing my suggestion you were blind. Then again Republicans and Democrats are of Gog and Magog both looking for [Security] which is why Ron Paul was sent to the back of the bus.

Romney can’t overturn obamacare unless congress sends him the bill repealing it, if congress does not send him the bill, will he investigate obamas past and see if he was a legitimate president, if he is not legitimate you don’t have to repeal, it’s an illegal law, but only if congress says it’s illegal, just as now congress will not investigate this president, not even a GOP house? I don’t think romney will do any of these. I believe he is a typical politician who will say anything to get elected. If I’m right what are the people going to / willing to do about it? Seriously, do you think the American people would do anything, I think not. Americans have not had the guts to take on politicians for over a hundred years. Too bad people didnt get behind the guy who has been calling for these things for 30 years instead of the progressive who will say anything to get elected and has been in opposition of these ideas most of his career.

    1. 2007 Romney called for a nation healthcare mandate. In 2009 Romney praised Obama for using his plan.
    2. As governor Romney did increase taxes on many businesses and he also created 33 new fees, and 57 fees were increased during his term.
    3. While Romney does spend less in the long term, he doesnt cut current spending levels. He only decreases future increases. Most of his plan is based on increased revenues.

FreedomWorks needs to add a couple of points to their agenda: 1) charge and try all treasonous traitors, and hang all guilty (we must put an end to these progressive pukes, who continually advance their sick, misguided, unAmerican platform…stomp it out once and for all) 2)get the U.S. out of the U.N. and the U.N. out of the U.S.

#1 should have been: AUDIT THE FED.

But I’m glad more see this as an opportunity to turn life in this country 180 degrees.

We can do it with the help of alternative media. The mainstream “journalists” who have helped wrangle this nation into the quagmire in which we currently wallow will have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of their studios and into the streets before we can hope to see any sort of help from the “watchdog press.”

Greedy bankers are bad. Politicians are MUCH worse. But the worst traitors of all to our Liberty are the radical leftists who pose as mainstream “journalists” in this country. They shape policy moreso than the politicians themselves, since politicians are beholden unto the polls. I seriously think we need to start charging the criminals who CONSTANTLY spew radical leftist ideology from the idiot box and other media under the pretense of “journalism.” It should be called what it is: high treason.
