From an email about this -
“Then after saying Colonel Al-Qathafi has “lost legitimacy” by attacking “civilians” (what civilians? The bearded wonders running around with heavy weaponry yelling Allahu akhbar?) he sends his envoy Abdel Elah Al Khatib to meet the “rebel leaders” in Tobruk. Why doesn’t he meet Colonel Al-Qathafi in Tripoli?
How could Colonel Al-Qathafi go from Knight in Shining Armour to Beast within two weeks? How come a report which had been drawn up after careful study and was about to be presented to the UNO on his excellent humanitarian record can suddenly be tossed into the bin? Who and what was behind the “rebellion”? Who has armed the “civilians”? Does anyone know “unarmed civilians” who roam around with anti-aircraft guns, tanks, armoured vehicles and heavy machine guns?

Then we discover that apart from having some of the purest crude oil reserves in the world, Libya ranks in the top 25 nations in terms of gold reserves, most of them conveniently inside the country, worth some 6 billion USD.

Now for international law. UN Resolution 1970 (2011) forbids the delivery of weaponry of any sort to any citizen in Libya. So who has been delivering weapons to the “unarmed civilians” and when? UN Resolution 1973 (2011) while allowing the use of force to protect “civilians” does not mention attacking conventional ground forces not engaged in battle to help “rebels” nor does it bear any mention whatsoever of aiding rebellious forces to gain power.

If, as has been reported, it is true that Egypt and the USA are responsible for shipping weapons to the Libyan “unarmed civilians” then both are in breach of UNSC Resolution 1970 (2011) and in which case, what is Mr. Ban Ki-Moon going to do about it? Nothing, probably. So much for his legacy. The UN Secretary-General who aided and abetted war crimes and a clear breach of UN law and did nothing? If the USA and Egypt can, as has been alleged, arm the “unarmed civilians”, then what is to stop someone else arming Al-Qathafi?
How could Colonel Al-Qathafi go from Knight in Shining Armour to Beast within two weeks? How come a report which had been drawn up after careful study and was about to be presented to the UNO on his excellent humanitarian record can suddenly be tossed into the bin? Showtime:

I can see the US via Obama using (bribing) the Egyptian army to send in arms and ammo into the hands of the rebels in Libya. This would tie a fair amount of things togeather, and would indeed make it a violation of UN sanctions in a technical and indirect sense.

Anymore with Obama nothing would suprise me; he is a snake in the grass and needs to be impeached from office as soon as possible.

We have been over the Libya story again and again and with every day that passes, new information arises, such as the planned homage to be paid to Colonel Muammar Al-Qathafi later this month by the UNO for his excellent humanitarian record, tolerance of minorities, religious tolerance and human rights training for the police force.

We have explained how the same man turned the poorest country in the world into the most prosperous in Africa, we have explained how the country works – a Jamahiriya is a country run by the people, through people’s councils.

We have explained how this “uprising” started in Benghazi with a massacre of unarmed civilians (Al-Qathafi supporters) by the “rebels”, we have explained how Colonel Al-Qathafi dispatched one of his own sons to negotiate with the “rebels” to find out what it was that they wanted.

Then we find out that they had been receiving thousands of former Libyan flags from abroad (maybe they would like to go back to the human development indices of the time they were flown, the time of King Idris I, when Libya was the poorest nation on Earth), had been receiving uniforms and military gear… And suddenly these “unarmed civilians” morph into marauding gangs of heavily armed Islamist thugs, who refuse to reveal their real long-term agenda (an Islamist State on the gates of Europe?) and with whom the international community cavorts.

What we want Obama to do? Simple, he’s in Libya for what other reason? If US policy is to deal with O.G., as Obama himself mentioned, then Barry must take him out. It’s bad enough he waffled for nearly a month before acting. All he had to do was present his case to Congress about protecting the people from that madman. Only a fool would say no. Instead of going before Congress, he went over their heads and allowed the UN to make use of our military. Since when in the hell did we allow the French to lead the way into any skirmish abroad? When you look at this, it’s an Impeachable offense by the very definition. But while he ordered our military there, GET GADHAFI! There’s no other rhyme of reason not to. Turn him over to the people of Liibya and let them put him on trial and let them hang him like the Iraqi’s did to Saddam.

Indecision has killed many people, most of which were the wrong people to be killed.

walkwithme1966, I would like for him to follow the rules and pass a resolution through, and receive authorization from Congress, before committing acts of war on a country that is not an immediate threat on the Untied States. While working with the UN is fine, the people of the United States, who are paying the bills, is to whom he is accountable through their representation. Don’t you agree that’s the way it should be, Mary?

What I want to hear tommorow from the White House is “Obama, Biden, Reid are impeached and are stripped of their offices; criminal trials on multitudes of charges to come.”

In the case of Quaddafi, Obama is only doing this for some distraction of what is going on here at home.

One thing has been bugging me lately about Obama and his way of making decisions; a friend made a passing remark that Obama has a kind of self-martyr complex with the way he makes everyone mad with him and America…

for all you short time memory people. It was GWB who lifted the sanctions off Lybia in 2004 after heavy lobying from oli companies wanting to rebuild his oil infrustructure. Condi Rice went on to say that gadafhi was a role model for other middle east dictators to strive to be. then the French went in and sold him planes when the sanctions were lifted. That why the French were the first in. they sold him his war planes. Look at the type of planes the lybian air force was flying…wake up people

Does anyone think he (Obama) may actually see himself as a martyr to come in the manner of Jesus on “the cross?”

Obama enormous ego may see himself as a saviour, but I doubt that he sees himself as a martyr.

Actual martyrs work very hard at their ’cause’, while Obama is mostly playing at it. If he were truly willing to be a martyr, he wouldn’t spend so much time partying, vacationing, and golfing. Think about it, do you picture Jesus, Ghandi, or Martin Luther King spending as much time playing games and vacationing as Obama does?

However, we can be certain that if anything bad happened to Obama, even if he were taken out by a far-left zealot, we would see an over-the-top martyr-drama like no other in living memory.

If you want to understand progressives, study three-year-olds.
If you want to know how to ‘deal with’ progressives, study three-year-olds.
They only understand their own wants and needs.
They don‘t want to be ’responsible’ for anything and their most effective tools for getting their way are to either annoy you with their whining, or lie to you.
There’s no point in arguing with them, they are incapable of accepting ‘responsibility’ for anything.
Three-year-old‘s brains have not developed enough for them to understand ’reason’.
Three-year-olds respond only to their feelings.
Progressives are physically adults but whose brains never made the leap to embracing reason above feelings, and accepting personal responsibility.

I apologize to actual three-year olds for comparing them to Progressives… that was not my intention. The ones who are not spoiled by their parents will probably turn out OK.

Beck’s speaking out of both sides of his mouth. On the one hand he’s saying that Qaddafi is a horrible guy, a terrorist. On the other, Beck is saying that President Obama is helping the terrorists by going after Qaddafi. So, like make up your mind already!

Gingrich has the same problem. He said on Fox around March 3d that he, as President, would have unilaterally established a no-fly zone that night and removed Quaddafit once and for all. Of course, after President Obama organized an international coalition and got a UN security resolution, Gingrich is now saying he would never have used American forces in Lybia and that Obama is making a big mistake. Nice coming from someone who famously said, “The Commander in Chief can’t flip-flop.”
