Beck Reminds Americans to Take Part in National Bake Sale & Lemonade Stand Day This Wednesday

At the beginning of June, Glenn Beck announced that Wednesday, June 13th, would mark a national bake sale and lemonade stand day to celebrate the most fundamental basis for American entrepreneurship while raising money for a good cause. Beck and his team at GBTV and the broader Mercury organization are helping active participants get involved by promoting their respective bake sales or lemonade stands. The proceeds of each stand will go to MercuryOne, where they will be used to feed the homeless at soup kitchens and homeless shelters across America.

The current push to outlaw donations to food banks based on their perceived sodium content, as well as the recent string of government crackdowns on lemonade stands and bake sales across the country, were in part, the catalyst for this event.

Now that the day is fast-approaching, Beck offered viewers a reminder to get involved, be it through setting up a bake sale or lemonade stand themselves, or by patronizing a Mercury-participating community member. The national event is part of an ongoing series of initiatives geared toward Beck’s upcoming Restoring Love rally and movement.

So, is there ANY information on this site or on the Mercury link regarding local events? How would I go about “patronizing a Mercury-participating community member.” if there’s no link or list available for my area?

    Sheesh.

Is there a Map (like the Charter Bus map for instance) to registered bake sale/ lemonade / hug stands? I’m off work early and would love to cruise Socal supporting as as many as I can. I hope there are a lot of kids with stands! It’s a great oppertunity to teach them about capitalism, entrepreneurism, and charity.

Would love to have done this… but bad health and bad knee’s prevents it! Is there a place to just donate?? I live in Utah and this state is awesome about filling up its food banks! Blessings to all those who are doing this!

Get a clue “Beckisnuts”-the money will benefit those who don’t have enough to eat for themselves and their children. If the person doesn’t live in your neighborhood..so what? I hear this too often-local community..u want to do something for your local community–DO IT!
BTW-Glenn does not profit from this initiative. Don’t hate him because he is capable of landing a radio deal like he has–try getting one yourself like him and be the competition if it bothers you so much!
I am proud that my household is a participant in this in upstate ny–land of the liberal no brainers!

We need more random and organized acts of noncompliance, but it seems to me the proceeds (if there are any) should go to local needs and worthy charities. I’m sorry, but to many folks this looks like a fundraiser for Glenn Beck, even if MercuryOne redistributes the wealth to others.

Beck just signed a 100 million dollar contract and then he turns around and wants a cut of regular folks lemonade stand proceeds? Is he nuts?? YES, we know that, but I mean, is he out of his mind? Well, yes, but what I mean is, he certainly has crossed the line this time. That’s just plain greedy.

You know I am a die hard conservative libertarian and for all the talk by posters on this site about being better than Dems/Libs ppl here seem to be just as stuck in the intertia that has destroyed our country for decades coming now. We didn’t get to this point in our history over night or even over the course of one presidential term. It’s going to take efforts and small gains after small gains for a while before we start actually seeing the benefits of getting this country back. As short sighted as some ppl are on the left some here seem even more so. Just because we don‘t get the perfect candidate right out of the gate doesn’t mean we’re not on the right track to getting one. Just because Glenn is doing “Lemonade Stands” instead of organizing a rebel army for the constitution doesn‘t mean we aren’t fighting this the way we need to be. It starts with baby steps folks. Please don’t be as impatient as the left seems to be and act, like they do, like impatient over grown toddlers. Think bigger than you are. This bake sale/lemonade stand isn‘t much but it’s symbolic of what we need to be doing and simply not accepting their BS. Peaceful intelligent NON-COMPLIANCE. Not revolution at the point of a gun. We should only go there if THEY bring that fight to us and ONLY then. Our ideology is better and works let’s not tarnish that with the same bullcrap they pull.

disappointed in the posts I’ve read on this, gotta tell ya.

Agreed. It’s symbolic and a protest against the excesses of government. We are not goiung to get to a place where we are all happy. Should we round up those who don’t want a conservative constitutionalist form of government? No. The left does things like that. We need to “progress” towards constitutionalism over time.

Love Beck but our current crisis can not be solved with lemonaide. It’s either going to be solved in Nov., not likely since Paul is out, or it’s going to be solved by Constitutional force. Whatever force is required. A minority has all the authority needed under the Constitution. If either of these are not used or successful, you are going to a FEMA camp within 10 years for interment.

Ron Paul can’t solve the problems! It’s the parents who are too lazy to watch and discipline their children, to uneducated to teach their children, to oblivious to know what’s happening in their childrens lives. I heard my parents talk about it from the ’30s, I saw it happen in my school in the ‘60s and it’s done nothing but speed up at a logarithmic rate. Ron Paul can’t solve this… We the people have to and it will take several generations to fix it.

Poor Glenn is really getting Manic. He’s pumping out “projects to save America” at a mile-a-minute. It‘s clear that he’s on the edge of something HUGE. Namely a catastrophic psychological breakdown. Let‘s all hope it doesn’t end too badly for too many people. May his family and his Devout Followers not come to harm.
