Beck Responds to ‘Conspiracy Theory’ Accusations With Three Sentences

On radio Thursday, Glenn Beck responded to those accusing him of wild “conspiracy theories” connecting the extreme left and extreme Islam in the wake of the Egyptian unrest — and he used three simple, succinct sentences to do so.

“I want the left to know, I plant my flag in this soil. If I’m wrong, so be it,” he said before laying out his case. “And you can discredit me all you want for the end of time, but I’m telling you I’m not wrong on this one. And there are three points that I want to make sure are very clear.”

Sentence one: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left, and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of Israel.”

Sentence two: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of capitalism.”

Sentence three: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left, and extreme Islam will work together to overturn relative stability, because in the status quo, they are both ostracized from power and the mainstream in most of the world.”

As for the rapture, don.t count on it before the time of great trouble, for Paul said in the book of Acts 14.22 “ We must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom of God ” and also 1 Corinthians 15.52 “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed”, and if it is the last trumpet there are no more trumpets after that.” Just saying that we need to be prepared for anything. Also in the parable that Jesus talked about one being taken and another left, the ones being taken are thrown into the fire.

Nope not backn Mubarak – Beck isn‘t either you obviously don’t listen to his radio show or watch his TV show. No just trying to understand what is happening in, Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Jordan, and why and what the possible outcomes are more importantly what that mean to us, and our only true friend in the Middle East – Israel. Additionally We must protect our only currently viable source of ~1/3 of our oil, cause you ******* mother earth worshiper types won’t let us drill here – Drill Baby Drill like you life depended on it! You dupes believe your propaganda that we can just simplify our life styles, lower our “carbon foot print” and do with out that “blood oil”.. I think so too… sure we can after about ~100 million of us die of starvation… Me and mine won’t, I’m prepared, thanks to Glenn,,, you however will most likely just end up a statistic. Think it can’t happen to US? you mean again? No it wasn’t that extreme but the Great D and the Dust Bowel was brutal as hell. It can, and it will, don’t know when,,but it’s coming, Mr. Statistic …

      This is not 1930′s Germany.
If he WERE here he would be against communist and Muslims.

DEUTSCHCER : Is that code for Deutschland? Back in the 1930′s the world was far too civilized for what happened. We had culture, Ivy league colleges, the industrial revolution, cars, planes, telephones, telegraphs …..these were considered very modern times. Never could anyone imagine a psychopath killing 6,000 Jews and no one lifting a finger to stop it. Not Roosevelt, not all of Europe, not the Catholic church because it was inconceivable that this could ever happen. What is coming makes that era in History (1939)look like a cakewalk and people like you will allow is to happen, again. Middle Eastern countries are not half as Civilized as Germany (Deutschland) was in 1939 and they have Nuclear weapons. You are very naive.

@duetcher you may want to do some homework…since it sounds like your a know it all…you may find that hitler and the arab-palestine movement were closely related and were drawn to each other through their shared contempt of the jews starting in 1936 look into haj’amin al-husseini the grand mufti of jerusalem at the time. one of the founders of the radical islamic movement. who willfully and enthustiastically joined hitlers crusade to rid the world of the jewish race….there is documentation of meetings between him and hitler. one hitler youth member that was interviewed told of how he thought it was strange that a person that wasnt of “pure aryan blood” was accepted by hitler and the nazi leadership and was told it was because of the shared goal…extermination of the jews. after those meetings the mufti went to the balkans and started a bosnian-croatian muslim SS divisions…even a panzer division. this is all layed out in a film you may find interesting (obsession: radical islams war against the west) walid shoebat a former plo terrorist mentioned in a post above in this thread is convinced that islamic extremism (religion) is worse than nazism (a secular dogma) because its not your leaders telling you to commit these atrocities…its your GOD. and you have this fanaticism growing in roughly 55 muslim countries and you could have a success rate of several nazi germanies if they get their way. ask yourself why iran needs nuclear enrichment to the level that is used in bomb making..and have thumbed their nose to the world as recently as last week. do yourself a favor. study history its all there for you to read. its not as easy as ridiculing those who mention the name Hitler. but it will make you think. and that my friend is what beck is asking all of us …even his haters, to do. empower yourself with the knowledge. or as thomas jefferson wrote…“question with boldness” what happened to the “question authority” crowd?….i dont catch Beck’s show regularly but i cant tell you how many times i have heard him say “dont take my word for it, check it out for yourself” i read one of his books and the appendix is as big as many of the chapters….its there for you to research. knowledge is power…and for some reason that drives the“intellectuals” on the left crazy. But in our history there are lessons we should be learning from and aren’t. how intelligent is that? and the nazis stand out to me as one of the most heineous lessons man has ever tragically had to learn, 6 million people dead. The holocaust…. denied by leaders of countries (muslim theocracies i might add) ask yourself why is the left so adamnant when defending islam but will attack christianity in a heartbeat? trying to strip clean all signs of christianity from our land while supporting ground zero mosques…defending freedom of any religion but judeo-christian? demonizing a man like glenn beck for “hate-mongering” when all he is doing is playing audio and video from the people he exposes IN THEIR OWN WORDS as in the case of the violent overthrow/riot promoting frances fox piven and van jones most recently. or exposing george soros’ connections to some pretty shady organizations and foundations, currency collapses, with HIS OWN WORDS. being called an anti semite for exposing soros and his ties to the nazi’s, that he read in soros’ own self written biography. but the main stream media isnt even interested in fact checking what mr. beck is saying. Its much easier to throw stones than to pick up books. but be better than that dont be spoon- fed whatever feces the media feels like feeding you…find the truth…seek it out…the truth has no agenda….the same cannot be said for much of anything else out there.

@ Deutscher – U have no clue about what happen prior to and during WWW with the NAZIs – who were Socialists and Muslims that they recruited funded and used to kill Jews… uh for you obviously uneducated types, I will tie it up the socialist vs Communist differentiation issue in tiny little bow: NAZI = Socialist = commie light… all the totalitarianism, half the state ownership and just as much good old fashioned genocide, they both taste great (to each other), socialism is just less filling. but I digress, the real issue with all you prog’s aka ********, is that you don’t read real history or, even care about it, as you said yourself that was in the 1930′s. blah blah blah.. You obviously don’t believe history is repeating itself – talk about being in De-Nile – NO you believe we humans are “evolving” or progressing BWAHHAAAAHA heee Whoo!!! Dude look around you all over the world, what’s happen again.. and again,,, if you are so dumb you can’t see it, I pity you but most of all I find your ilks ignorance and insistent denial of the facts, both sad and funny all at the same time. No one in this country other than the brotherhood’s followers really have no idea who we are dealing with. This statement I make also includes beck. Its an absurd conspiracy theory, the idea that a caliphate would take over western europe is insane. the very idea that a few islamic radicals could build an empire in the modern nuclear age is just plain silly. a step too far beck

Have you recently been to Europe and visited say Paris or London? Even my friends in France and England suggest not going into certain areas that they call little Algeria or Pakistan. In England, they have allowed the British courts to refer certain cases to Sharia courts to be better adjudicated. In many of the Euro countries that are faced with the dilemma of law vs religion. The present case in the US with the father who ran over and killed his daughter because she was becoming too Americanized, in England would be referred to a Sharia court where he would most likely be found innocent. Like the US, polygamy is not allowed. However, Sharia law allows it so in the age of political correctness or the new mantra “do or say nothing that might possibly offend anyone,” polygamy is flourishing and no politician is willing to take on that kettle of worms. Many Arabs feel that Spain and Portugal should be and indeed, are, part of the Moslem world after they were conquered as part of the expansion of the Ottoman Empire. For years, the largest mosque in the world was the one in Cordoba, Spain. This mosque was built after the Spanish were defeated. Before building the mosque, the cathedral and the synagogue that stood on the site were destroyed. Yet, the Obama administration and their bobble heads would have us believe that there is nothing to be concerned about with Imam Rauf and the so-called Ground Zero Mosque. We should NOT be concerned that the title of the project is the Cordoba Initiative and one of the main sub projects is to ensure that the US is Sharia compliant.

I have believed Alex Jones for years and nothing he has predicted has ever come about – so I am stopping following dark leaders. Besides, you can’t research Beck – he always uses some obscure book or document where there is only one copy, so there is no way to connect the dots for oneself. http://wp.me/pYLB7-yW

@tompainecantkeepscore conservative estimates (not politically conservative so keep reading..troll) put the muslim population at or around 23% of the worlds population which would be approximately 1.15 billion…now those same estimates put the percent who would be considered “extremist” my moderate muslims at approx. 15%…meaning your definition of “a few” is around 172.5 million lets just say for arguments sake lets disregard those estimates and say that the % of “extreme” muslims is 1% of that 1.15 billion…thats still 11.5 million is this what you mean by “a few”….if so will you loan me “a few” dollars. think for yourself , empower yourself with knowledge. or have fun trolling conservative websites just dont be suprised when your msnbc talking points are refuted by people that arent “hayseed racists” as we are described on the liberal cable “news” channels. the same hypocritical outlets that are demanding “civil discourse”.

      TOM
The left routinely uses enemies against their enemies. Even as far back as the early 90′s the radical elements in academia have been supporting radical Islamic positions as a means to counter the “evil” forces of Western Civilization and Capitalist.

In fact, for years, the only debate in the far left lay between those who wanted to stick to the old-time progressive left (rooted in the reason and logic that fed the French Revolution) and the New Left (which sought to use the unbridled force of anarchy found by saddling the anti colonial forces in the mid east and Latin America.

Right now our administration is populated by those who grew up in the 60′s and/or were educated in the 90′s. These are the motivations feeding our current rulers. There is no question that they will use whatever force they can to create a power vacuum both here and abroad that will, in turn, allow the end of Capitalism.

The only question that remains is who will emerge from the struggle. I have no doubt that the left thinks that Islam will, because of its internal divisions, implode and thus let the left emerge as victors. Islam, on the other hand, I’m sure is waiting to jump on and destroy the leftist elements who think they are only using Islam.

The way the left is using Islam reminds me of Aslan and Tash, in C.S. Lewis’s The Last Battle. When the unbelievers used the figure of the god Tash to control the people, they never expected the real Tash would arise and take control. They “called Tash, and the real Tash came.”

Grab the popcorn folks, this is going to be one heck of a show.

the fact that Glenn admitted on national TV he might be wrong says it all… he also stated that his staff called up numerous Middle East experts and explained Glenn’s thinking…and nearly to a man, they all agreed that northern Africa and the Middle East is heading towards a Caliphate. they stopped short of saying that southern Europe would be part of that…but I bet that Glenn gave them a lot to think about when they start to revise their theories and present to whoever else wishes to interview them….
so don’t focus on the Europe part…that is fine…but also don’t use it to try and sway people away from the understanding…from experts here, Europe, Asian, and the Middle East…that the Muslims want to reestablish the Ottoman Empire…a Caliphate that spans as much of the world was they can get together….
which would force China to take control of as much area as they can to hold off the Muslims…and Russia to take as much of Europe to control as they can….they will all see it as a way to seize control of land they have only not been able to take because of a strong US military and government… well..the military is still strong but they are hamstrung by the idiots that govern…

I live in Britain, Sharia can only be used for minor civil cases were both parties agree to go to a sharia court.

The chances of the muslim brotherhood taking control in egypt are slim, the chances of radical islam taking control of every country in the mid east even slimmer. These experts who beck claims to call upon who are they??

As for the minimum amount muslim extremists 11.5 million have little influence on 1.15 billion.

The reasons for this unrest are repression and high food prices, not islamic extremism

I’ve been asking people since 1992. Where do you think ALL these Fascist, Communist, enemy’s of the U.S.A and Israel have gone? I kept pointing out that , RADICAL ISLAM and THE FASCIST NAZI FREAKS IN EAST GERMANY, AND THE SOVIET UNION communists were a perfect match with the Islam radicals. Islam radicals had money but no technology. EAST GERMANY AND THE SOVIET UNION radicals that found themselves out of power virtually overnight, had Technology but NO MONEY . The thing they all had/have in common is/was they HATE THE U.S.A and Israel. A perfect match made in HELL. I have been AMAZED that it has taken Two decades for someone besides me to put this all together. He is right, he has been right on a number of things most recent was the Code Pink and Ayers influence in Egypt.

There was a time when I challenged ppl to prove him wrong but that has stopped b/c they can’t. They cannot refute what Beck has commented about so all that is left is to go after him personally and call names yada yada.

Beck isnt the only making these calls; Peter Schiff, Gerald Celente have been there as well along with others. They aren’t fortune tellers or anything silly they see whats going on and base opinions on actual facts.

Look everyone is wishing he was wrong but its okay if he is right! We know where things are going and have a chance to stop them. We have a chance to go at those involved expose them and maybe if we are lucky get them thrown in jail. We can expose the corrupt politicians, companies and organizations playing a hand in this so when they try to start something there may be just enough people who wont react as they hoped!

The offspring of satan, gain the upper hand politically, through education, media, monetary policy and ruthlessness. The powers that are driving all the chaotic action in the world at this time, don’t care about you or me or any individual. To them we are vermin. It has less to do with the word “Islam” than it does the word “radical”. World domination is the name and genocide is the game.
The ultimate goal is to reduce the population of the world to “manageable” numbers, and take possession and control of the earth’s resources.
This planet is Satan’s home address, now. Woe to the inhabitants of the Earth. Satan is completely and supernaturally pissed, and he does not like human beings, at all. He has thousands of demonicly driven, special forces officers, and will soon have access to the entire world’s wealth.

Sentence one: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left, and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of Israel.”

What socialist left in the US is an enemy of Israel? The Democratic Party bends over backwards to highlight their friendship with Israel as much as the GOP does. Meanwhile, leftist intellectuals who rightfully question whether a US policy that unquestioningly sides with Israel is in either country’s best interest (and some of those intellectuals are living in Israel) are not collaborating with radical Islamic extremists who say that they want to wipe Israel off the map. This type of oversimplified argument is silly on its face. It is like saying that the German Nazi’s and the American arch-conservatives worked together because they both hated communism. That might be intuitively appealing and might even be apparently validated by a few isolated cases, but on the whole the argument has little truth historically.

Sentence two: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of capitalism.”

Socialists are not communists, and liberals are not even socialists. Only the communists seek to overturn capitalism. The other two groups seek to mitigate its worst ills–and those not only exist, they were forseen by Adam Smith himself–through the use of government regulation. This is done because the worst ills of capitalism hurt individuals and also hurts the system as a whole. This is totally different than the Islamic extremists’ critique of capitalism, which is not based on empirical evidence or rational thought, but is driven by an irrational hatred for all things alien (i.e., not found or condoned in a thousand-year-old holy book). This latter critique is more analogous to that raised by Christian Amish or Menonites, who reject modernity in the same way that Islamic ideologues have–of course, the Amish choose to stay separate, while the radical Muslims choose to kill everyone who doesn’t follow the same path (a non-trivial distinction in execution, but one that doesn’t undermine the similarity in their anti-modernity stance and its religious source). Because the critiques of capitalism are so different, the desired outcomes are also very different; and that makes it impossible for socialists to work together with radical Islamists in the way that Beck envisions. Proof of this? The great leaders pushing for pan-Arabism in the 50′s, 60‘s and 70’s (e.g., Nasser) were Socialists, and they were highly wary of the radical Islamists who opposed them.

Sentence three: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left, and extreme Islam will work together to overturn relative stability, because the in the status quo, they are both ostracized from power and the mainstream in most of the world.”

The people in the streets of Tunisia and Egypt are not stooges of the Islamic Brotherhood or other radical clerics. They are young and well-educated people facing the worst employment rates in the world for individuals of their educational standing. They have grown tired of the lack of economic prospects, as well as political avenues to express grievance or fight for change within the system. EVERY on-the-ground account from these two countries has highlighted a grass-roots movement driven not by a particular ideology but by economic and political frustration. Beck totally ignores this fact. Further, he assumes that the Islamists will take over this movement–as they did in Iran–when many experts in the field expect that a military strong man will likely end up in control–especially in Egypt, which is too nationalistic a country to cede control to an internationalist group like the Islamic Brotherhood. By the way, according to Beck, Obama is a hardcore socialists, but he is also the President of the US, so it makes no logical sense that he would seek to destabilize the power structure he now leads.

I’m not sure what parallel universe that Beck inhabits, but only people who are living in that world with him and are totally blind to the facts and reality in this one, could even begin to take this nonsense seriously. I know that Beck touts his repeated calls for his fans to do their own research, but they clearly are not doing it, or are only doing it through lists of sources that are as out-of-touch with reality as Beck. Because I cannot explain how people can have views of the world that are so at-odds with the facts on the ground, in the history books, etc. Someone will have to explain the mass delusions to me…

Glenn Beck is correct on this issue as he has been on many other issues. The goal of Islam and the left go hand-in-hand, they are both working for 1 world government and I might add religion. They want to control everyone in this world or else get rid of them. We see in the riots in Egypt which are spreading to other countries what may well happen in our own country. It was triggered by financial issues, but the goal is to take over the country and unite all of the land in the Mid-East against Israel. The left and the M. Brotherhood are working in every country to take it over. Already we see many of the same steps that took place in the European countries happening in our own country. Every mosque that is erected on any site is there “forever”. It is a sign of conquest so please keep that in mind. We see an administration that would rather “fiddle” while the US burns. This country is really in trouble and when the perks stop as they will, many will riot like this one bit because they do not know how to take care of themselves as they are so used to the government doing it for them. This applies to all levels of our society. Our economy is weak, our military is being weakened and our personal liberties are in jeopardy from red tape and government control. When people do fully realize that Obama was placed in the White House specifically to destroy the country and when someone asks him the most pertinent question he can answer about his religion – When did you renounce your muslim faith? I really want to hear that one (his actions show he is following the muslim path). He may have been a child when he was part of Islam, but muslims believe you are a muslim until you renounce your religion or die. I believe we will be in the same boat as Europe very soon and then I believe we will see the 1 world government emerge and the ruler will be the head of the government and the head of religion. Sound familiar?

Also, even many conservatives are not buying what Beck is selling:

Uprising in Egypt Splits U.S Conservatives
      by Michelle Goldberg
      February 1, 2011 | 11:28pm

Glenn Beck blasts the uprising in Cairo as a threat to our way of life. Michelle Goldberg on how the rebellion is splitting U.S. conservatives—and the fallout for the 2012 presidential campaign. Plus, full coverage of Egypt’s protests.

Store food and prepare for the coming global insurrection: That’s the warning Glenn Beck issued Monday. The Muslim Brotherhood and American radicals, he informed us, are operating in tandem to bring about “the destruction of the Western world.” On his Fox show, Beck presented a clip of Mohamed ElBaradei calling for a “New Egypt that is democratic, that is based on social justice.“ The phrase ”social justice” flashed on the screen, because in Beck’s world, it’s a code word for a totalitarian leftist agenda, just as the Egyptian protesters’ use of the phrase “day of rage” signals their kinship with Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground. “We’ve shown you tonight that Hamas, Code Pink”—the feminist anti-war group—”and the Muslim Brotherhood are all linked together.” With the future bleak, Beck called on his viewers to pray for “our way of life” and for Israel.

Since the war in Iraq, it seems, Beck, like others on the right, has changed his mind about the desirability of Middle Eastern democracy.

It was only a few years ago, you’ll remember, that conservatives were crowing about a new birth of freedom in the Muslim world. Gunning for war with Iraq, conservatives attacked earlier generations of foreign-policy realists for propping up Arab dictators, arguing that political oppression and corruption created stultifying societies were terrorism bred. George Bush made the rhetorical championing of Middle Eastern democracy a centerpiece of his presidency. In a 2003 speech at the American Enterprise Institute, he promised that a “liberated Iraq can show the power of freedom to transform that vital region, by bringing hope and progress into the lives of millions.”

It was never entirely clear how the right’s support for political freedom in the Muslim world meshed with its overwhelming contempt for Muslim people. Still, Bush had the passionate backing of most conservatives. A March 2003 dispatch from The Dallas Morning News, for example, featured an up-and-coming right-wing radio host who was organizing pro-Bush rallies across the country: “From his studio in Philadelphia, syndicated radio talk-show host Glenn Beck urges Americans to support President Bush and what he characterizes as Mr. Bush’s plan for seeding freedom in the Middle East with the invasion of U.S. troops.”

Now, as Egyptians pour into the streets and demand control of their political destiny, an interesting divide is opening up on the right. On one side are those who actually took all that democracy stuff seriously. On the other are those who see the Muslim world only as an enemy to be crushed and controlled. With a Republican primary approaching, it remains to be seen which view of Middle Eastern policy will triumph among conservatives.

Beck, hero of the Tea Party, has become the hysterical tribune of the anti-democracy forces, linking the uprising in Egypt to a bizarre alliance of all of his bête noirs. “This is Saul Alinsky. This is STORM from Van Jones,” he warned on Monday, continuing, “The former Soviet Union, everybody, radical Islam, every—this is the story of everyone who has ever plotted to or wanted to fundamentally change or destroy the Western way of life. This isn’t about Egypt. Everything is up on the table.” It would all end, he warned, with the restoration of a “Muslim caliphate that controls the Mideast and parts of Europe,“ along with an expanded China and Russian control of the entire Soviet Union ”plus maybe the Netherlands.”

It sounds nuts, of course, but such fears are now rampant on the religious right, which has long seen American involvement in the Middle East in millennarian terms. In the apocalyptic view of politics that dominates the Christian right, Muslim nations are closely connected to the rise of the Antichrist, while the restoration of the Jews to the entire biblical land of Israel is key to the Second Coming. The end of days will be marked by the emergence of a one-world government and a great world war in the Middle East, culminating in a battle at Megiddo, or Armageddon, an actual place in Israel. (Beck is a Mormon, but he’s always incorporated elements of American evangelicalism into his ideology.) To side with the protesters in Egypt, at the expense of Israeli security, is to back Satan’s team in the coming biblical showdown. Thus John Hagee, the chiliastic preacher who founded Christians United for Israel, took to his website to praise Hosni Mubarak as “an American ally and closet friend to Israel,” writing, “Israel will soon be surrounded by enemies screaming for their blood. Will America support them? Our president certainly has not been supportive of Israel to this point in his administration; why would he change now?”

Not surprisingly, the politicians closest to the religious right have been the quickest to side with Mubarak. On Turesday Mike Huckabee, who is in Israel, called into Fox & Friends to criticize the Obama administration for failing to back an ally. In Israel, he said, there’s “real shock and surprise… at how quickly the Obama administration abandoned a 30-year ally and a longstanding friend to peace and stability President Mubarak.” On Sean Hannity’s radio show, Newt Gingrich warned that Egypt “could go the way of Iran.”

At least some neoconservatives, meanwhile, have shown an admirable consistency, urging support for Egypt’s demonstrators. Michael Rubin of the AEI, for example, wrote a piece for Forbes.com headlined “The U.S. Should Not Fear Regime Change.“ ”I don’t see many neoconservatives who love Mubarak and really want to protect him,” Rubin told me, adding, “When it comes to support for dictatorships, you can only kick the can down the road for so long before the road ends.”

This highlights an interesting difference of opinion between neoconservatives and conservative Israelis, who are often thought to move in lockstep. “Israelis aren’t on board on the democracy game,” says Rubin. “They’d much rather rely on aging dictators to keep things quiet. They’re perfectly happy selling out Lebanon to Syria, and perfectly happy selling out the Egyptian people to Hosni Mubarak.”

Some neoconservatives are even claiming credit for the revolution under way in Egypt’s streets. “[T]he revolt in Tunisia, the gigantic wave of demonstrations in Egypt, and the more recent marches in Yemen all make clear that Bush had it right—and that the Obama administration’s abandonment of this mind-set is nothing short of a tragedy,” Elliott Abrams, Bush’s former deputy national security adviser, wrote in The Washington Post.

This is somewhat galling, since, as Julie Millican pointed out in Media Matters, Bush was always a Mubarak cheerleader. But at least it suggests that some on the right are willing to support the democratic aspirations of the Egyptian people—and that they won’t snipe at Obama for failing to prop up the Mubarak regime. It suggests that not all conservatives were being grossly hypocritical when they championed an end to Arab autocracies. Only some of them were.

Haha. Broker, you really drive these nuts crazy! Cheers.

For all of you goofballs who keep challenging everyone to “disprove” the things Beck says, it’s almost impossible to do so. Why? Not because he’s right, but because his assertions are vague and meaningless. For one: he says these groups “will work” together, which a very vague guess about the future. Also, the idea of “working together” is extremely vague, and can cover anything from breaking windows with rocks or buying party hats at Costco. I could say that Ted Nugent and Huey Lewis will work together to overthrow the government of Panama. Prove me wrong!

But, of course, Beck isn’t making claims about individuals–he’s making claims about groups that he himself defines. Therefore, all he needs is a few protestors in Egypt to be Muslims and a few more protestors to support national health care, and he can claim that his blanket statements are correct. Now, if Beck could attempt to prove that there are no capitalists or anyone who wants a freer economy in Egypt protesting, now there would be something. Of course, Beck will never do this, because he avoids actually having to make a real argument like the plague.

So there you go Beckbots. The reason he can’t be proven wrong is because he is not actually saying anything of substance, but that doesn’t stop you nuts from jumping on the bandwagon and attacking Egyptian protestors for wanting a more open and more democratic government.

      Broker0101,
Let’s get down to facts. Dispute his answer. Islam and Communism are very similar in their authoritarianism. Self rule, capitalism is not what they want. Islam is more tolerable of enterprise but like Communism those in the power are the ones who get the benefit.

After 911 I decided I should see what makes these people tick. I read the Koran. They don’t hate us because of Mubarark, capitalism, blah, blah. They hate us because we are the infidel. Ones who say God is one of three, and we support Israel whom they also hate. Glen is alot more tolerant than I. I think Muslims in this country are a threat to it’s freedom. We are setting up our own failure by tolerating them. Our laws for Muslims should be the mirror of Muslim laws for Christians. For the ones who even let Christians live there.

Socialists are no more a fan of terrorism than any of you hard right Becklers are, for starters. Islamofascists are also notoriously clannish and the chances of them allowing others from outside their religion into their organization is practically nil. PA Patriot,

“The following is for you to grandstand if you desire and deface the graves of dead soldiers….”
You totally lost me here. Are you suggesting that I am the one grandstanding? I really don’t see what the second half of your post is about. I have the greatest respect for those who serve, and I support everyone’s right to free speech. In fact, I like free speech so much that I think people in other countries should be able to claim that right for themselves. Countries like, for example, Egypt. They should be able to fight for their own freedom, and it would be awfully nice if Beck would refrain from spreading nasty and unfounded rumors against people who are fighting tyranny in their own country. Of course, Beck is within his First Amendment rights–I’ve never denied this–and I can only assume he will stretch these rights as far as possible to try to get his dwindling audience back.

No doubt you have a very long list of statements that prove Mr. Beck has totally missed the mark on several occasions. With the limited space allowed it would be ludicrous to ask you to provide your complete list. With that understanding I would ask that you only provide ONE example to substantiate your implication that he is indeed a fear monger. Keep it brief regardless of your overwhelming supply of anti-rational comments made by this man. You sound very intelligent so I would be honored to have access to your brillant evaluation of a raging lunitic so I can keep my children guarded from his vulgar comments.

Beck‘s conspiracy theory isn’t wrong because he says Muslim leaders want to establish a Caliphate. His theories cross into insanity when he insinuates that somehow Communists and Islamist extremists will work together. How did the original Mujahadeen respond to communism in Afghanistan? Are the Uyghars loving Chinese communism? Communism is antithetical to ALL religion, and ALL religion is antithetical to Communism. If you don’t believe me, just ask the Russian Orthodox Christian community if you can find it. “Opiate of the masses” ring any bells?

Glen is absolutely right that poverty and the threat of starvation are the most pressing issues. Desperate people will attach themselves to anything that they see as empowering. Some people think that the United States is going down the wrong path and that the way to reverse that trend is to embrace whatever they want to believe were George Washington‘s or Ronald Reagan’s values. Many Americans have deluded themselves into thinking the way to recapture the “past glory” is to start praying in school again or to end political correctness. Muslims in North Africa and the Middle East who had the misfortune of being born without the control of any oil are by and large impoverished and desperate well beyond the comprehension of most Americans. Is it really any wonder that some of those Muslims would want to recapture the time when Islam was the wealthiest, most powerful, most advanced civilization in the world? Militant leaders tap into that desperation, but even at the most desperate the vision that is promised to impoverished Muslims by militant leaders has NOTHING in common with Communism. Beck is right that no one in this country will join a revolutionary movement and that’s because no one here is desperate. It is difficult to riot when one third of your population is obese and Jersey Shore comes on when scheduled.

Beck has simply jumbled two words and concepts that he knows that his viewers hate and mixes them together to sow fear and irrationality. In that way he is no better than Bin Laden. He wants to be a leader of a “TRUTH” movement that sees the world in black and white terms. The world is simply not that simple. All of those people he mentioned certainly do say they want a Caliphate, but when Bin Laden speaks of a Caliphate he means one that he leads. Not to mention the fact that if you put Bin Laden in a room with Ahmadinejad they would probably kill each other. The more credence that anyone gives them the more dangerous they become. Beck’s speaking of a monolithic Islamic monster is simply not the case and it makes true everything Bin Laden and Ahmadinejad say about the United States. His alarmist, paranoid rhetoric elevates those mad men he references to positions of power that they do not deserve. Muslims are human beings just like you and me and if they had their druthers they would be left alone to live fat, prosperous and powerful just like Americans. The vast, vast majority of them realize that comes through peace, freedom and stability rather than radical terror.

Lastly, beware anyone who claims to have “THE TRUTH”

Perhaps you and I have a different definition of “grandstanding” than I. Yes, I believe you are grandstanding (showboating, impressing, showing off) by placing your personal ideals above those of Glenn. Unfortunately your posts are blatantly condescending with arrogance and conceit for other readers who do not agree with your ideals. Thus, your purpose for posting is to make others like me look like fools.

I posted the military information regarding my relatives to see if you would descend to depths of lewdness by “grandstanding” your ideas of arrogance and conceit. Thank you for not belittling my family.

I truly believe that Egyptians do wish for and should have freedom of speech. Why do you think they are risking their lives in the streets of Cairo? For many Egyptians, (especially Coptic Christians) their existence has not been void of many basic human rights, rather they have lived in complete fear and as second class citizens. Many Coptic’s have immigrated to the US in great numbers to find freedom of speech religion, and American liberties. The Coptics are the oldest Christian Religion in history.

Also, many Egyptian Muslim lives are devoid of freedom of speech as well. I heard a report today that discussing politics in Egypt, in public by the general population was not permitted, ever….. NEVER.

I hope you understand my position. We agree to disagree. But I would be remiss if I did not (again) quote Thomas Jefferson. I have no fear of the future.

So you claim that me and Broker are the same person, make up some vague “evidence,” and then ask for Blazers to decide collectively what the truth is on no real basis whatsoever. I couldn‘t really ask for a better demonstration of what Beck’s idea of “research” really means. Of course, I could just tell you that Broker and I are not the same person, but its a peculiar element of Blazian “research” that it does not admit any evidence arguing against what it has already decided.

Now, if you had understood what I was saying in my post, you would see that no amount of research will really matter for Beck’s assertions. You can say that the “discussion” starts, but if you are familiar with these boards, you know that these discussion rarely contain any kind of dissent other than from people like Broker, ABC and I, and we are frequently just dismissed. Not that this really matters, since as my example shows, no amount of discussion can prove or disprove the idea that groups Beck has the power to define as he wishes will sometime in the future share similar goals.

ABC – Beck has been calling these food riots since the outset. Talk about oversimplifying, you mention 3 sentences out of the man’s mouth vs. the 20 hours a week that is available to listen to by the general public and you assume you understand his position. It‘s obvious you don’t.

Additionally, here are a couple of facts you got completely wrong. The Nazi party was shorthand for the National Socialist Party and the reason they hated the communists was because they were in competition for membership. Idealogically they were virtually identical save the nationalism centered around Germany. Next, which leftists are supporting the radical are supporting the radical Muslims? Recall the floatilla that was boarded by the Israel; it was full of leftist activist like Bernadine Dorn (no idea if I’m spelling that correctly). These were two glaring errors that you would know about if you actually listened to Beck. If I had the time to analyze your ill informed post, I’m sure I could find more. Now go back to your ivory tower of academics and let the adults worry about the real world.

In response to Publius and Broker and to others who seem to miss the link between the Left and Islam:

Code Pink, supporters of Obama, visited Iraq in 2002, they also gathered together $600,000 to bring to our enemies in Fallujah. They work with Hamas on the Gaza Flotillas. And they were in Egypt last week and Ayres and Dohrn where there in the last year.

Wake up! There is a connection whether you want to believe it or not. The Left and the Muslims are useful idiots to each other. Each is using the other to get what they want – chaos so that they can come in and put in place the system they want, whether it be a form of communism or a worldwide caliphate.

There is no other way for them to win. They can’t get enough people to have a real revolution, to fight a real fight. So they cause chaos, collapse the system . . . and there you go.

And someone above said that the Democrats are friends with Israel? LOL! They are if it suits them otherwise they are always bringing them down. How friendly has Obama been to Israel? I would say not very.

Whether Glenn is right ultimately is up in the air. But to pretend any of those people in the street want democracy or even “free market capitalism” is really being in De-Nile.

“Sentence two: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of capitalism.”

Socialists are not communists, and liberals are not even socialists. Only the communists seek to overturn capitalism……”
      __________
I do not agree w/your other two statements, however, this is the only one I’d like to respond to right now…basically, your statements are far too broad…so, they can not be supported with logical answers…

First of all, socialism and communism are alike in that both are systems of production for use based on public ownership of the means of production and centralized planning. Socialism grows directly OUT OF capitalism; it is the FIRST form of the new society. Communism is a FURTHER development or “higher stage” of socialism.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his DEEDS (socialism). From each according to his ability, to each according to his NEEDS (communism).

The socialist principle of distribution according to DEEDS— that is, for quality and quantity of work performed, is immediately possible and practical. On the other hand, the communist principle of distribution according to NEEDS is not immediately possible and practical—it is an ultimate goal.

Socialism is the first step in the process of developing the productive forces to achieve abundance and changing the mental and spiritual outlook of the people. It is the necessary transition stage from capitalism to communism.

Actually with the prelude that’s, like, six sentences. But no matter.

With regard to sentence 1: Beck’s statement have aliented Jews everywhere, so his statement of support for Israel isn’t going to get him much applause from Israelis or the Jewish community
      http://www.jewishjustice.org/foxaction
      http://www.jewishjournal.com/jews_and_mormons/item/glenn_beck_and_the_jews_he_doesnt_get_it_39101111/
Nice try, but Jews in general and Jews in Israel aren’t buy your conspiracy theory. Although to be sure your audience for your “three simple statements” is neither the Jewish community or Israelis: you’re pawning off your theories on your base.

Tune in tomorrow for the next installment!

“So there you go Beckbots. The reason he can’t be proven wrong is because he is not actually saying anything of substance, but that doesn’t stop you nuts from jumping on the bandwagon and attacking Egyptian protestors for wanting a more open and more democratic government.”
      ________________________
First of all…You are assuming that all of us agree 100% of the time with Glenn…that just isn‘t the case where I’m concerned…I do get frustrated with him…however, he made a change to his program somewhere around the end of last year…AND…he said that he was going to and didn’t care if his ratings took a hit as a result of the new direction…He does report on those things that are current and what he sees as “important” to public debate…however, his heart (in my opinion) lies more within what he “knows” (and I also believe) to be at the “core” of our TRUE problems in America…our society as a whole has lost it’s connection to “GOD”…and…if you do not believe in God…then, a return to “core” issues concerning “virtue”…I don’t know if you watch Glenn on a regular basis or not, but if you do you have to admit that the “change” in his “delivery” was dramatic…does that make any sense to you?
      AND
I’d believe that the vast majority of Egyptians DO WANT MORE AND MORE DEMOCRACY if there were any reporters “bothering” to seek them out and get their input…BUT…all you are seeing is the “mob” in the “square” AND that is hardly an unbiased demographic of the people….WHO ARE, by the way, MUSLIM…AND…DEMOCRACIES HAVE NEVER survived in the Middle East…NEVER! They only last in “name only” long enough to have an ELECTON and the very next day…BOOM…you have a Theocratic or Dictatorship or a Socialistic form of government…In ALL cases in the Middle East, Democratic elections result in TYRANNIES!

I’m in high-school and I’m 18. I just started concerning myself with politics in the last 8 months to about a year. I have listened to fox news for about 7 months, and most consistently Glenn Beck. I know some of the things he has said are kind of hard to grasp and way out further than any other radio/television host is willing to go, but let me ask you this… with all of his crazy “conspiracy theories” (the strong left wants you to believe) tell me on how many of these has he been wrong? He is almost always right, as far as I know, on all of his predictions that are almost impossible to wrap your mind around. He always backs up his theories with hard evidence that you can find yourself. If the leftists want us “glenn bots” to start believing them then prove him or any of us wrong. Besides just declaring we have crazy theories show us evidence to believe otherwise. We don’t want these theories to come to be, but what Glenn shows us is almost irrefutable! Please show me evidence that he’s wrong. It might be nicer than the doom and gloom we have to look forward to if Glenn is right. I would greatly appreciate a response. Thank you.

ABC in a post (3:31PM) above stated: “Socialists are not communists, and liberals are not even socialists. Only the communists seek to overturn capitalism.” However, even a perfunctory perusal of various lefty groups reveals a virulent anti-capitalism. Here are some examples taken directly from their websites.

SOCIALIST PARTY USA: People across the world need to cast off the systems which oppress them, and build a new world fit for all humanity. Democratic revolutions are needed to dissolve the power now exercised by the few who control great wealth and the government. By revolution we mean a radical and fundamental change in the structure and quality of economic, political, and personal relations. The building of socialism requires widespread understanding and participation, and will not be achieved by an elite working “on behalf of” the people. The working class is in a key and central position to fight back against the ruling capitalist class and its power. The working class is the major force worldwide that can lead the way to a socialist future – to a real radical democracy from below.

SOCIALIST ACTION: “Socialist Action is a nation-wide group of revolutionary anti-capitalists.”

ANSWER: Join ANSWER Coalition member group, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, us on December 6-7 in Los Angeles for a National “Fight Back” Conference on Socialism. Find out what socialism is, what we aim for, and why socialism is the only answer to the misery created by capitalism. This is the reality of capitalism. Is this the way it has to be? No. Socialism is an alternative to this irrational and increasingly barbaric system. It is a system that puts human needs over private profits.

IAC: IAC defines itself as an “anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist” organization. We want to see an end of the human suffering caused by living under a system that puts profit before peoples needs.

Nearly every left-wing group express similar sentiments. Make no mistake — It is not only Communists who seek to overturn capitalism.

      GLENN BECK IS RIGHT!

Obama has strong affiliations with Islam that much is certain but he is a hard left radical. You guys have to read “Radical-In-Chief” by Stanley Kurtz. In typical and predictable behavior he has moved to quickly to move Mubarak out knowing full well that the only political group capable of establishing a government is the Muslim Brotherhood (or as I call them, “The Brotherhood of evil”). Notice how the left is playing down the Brotherhood agenda. In fact, some of them even saying that all they do is provide food and aid to the poor. I remember a group call the Black Panthers back in the late 60‘s and 70’s that did they same kind of missionary work while running a criminal drug organization from within.
Everything on the Left is a calculated move, of course the army could prove to be a more centrist force but that’s his minion are ratcheting up the rhetoric hoping to force the army into accepting an unholy alliance between the Brotherhood and some less radical elements within the country. The problem is that this groups are not organized and have not established a political agenda. Obama knows this and he is quite adept at maneuvering in chaos and is pushing the levers as a true community organizer that he is.

The point is simple, Obama has learned to be stealthy. He is a member of the American SS, Stealth Socialist movement. A true disciple of the Midwest Academy. The goal is to destabilize our government and bring about his Social Transformation of America. This is why is dispassionate towards Israel and most of the former allies. In two year this despot has spent half as much as the country spent in two hundred years! NOW, that is what I call progress!! I say he is right on target. I don’t necessarily believe he wants to destroy Israel but to the left–Ideology is above human life so weather it is Betty Van Patter or the entire State of Israel it is well worth it. It is well worth it if we achieve utopia on earth. I do not know if the left truly believes this or not but it does not matter. In the end they will spin and rationalize this as well.

At the risk of sounding like a right radical extremist –Be afraid, be very afraid.

Hey Brokeback0101 and ABCNews… You seem to be operating under the incorrect assumption that we just believe anything Glenn Beck says. We do not. We do our own homework. In fact, I’d had enough of my own experiences long before I watched his program that prove the truth of his words. For instance, I was invited to a liberal friend’s Unitarian church for services here in America and clearly understood what their social justice/wealth redistribution scheme is all about. The library in the basement contained anti-capitalist books and literature and they even had stained glass windows honoring scientists as saints like the Fabian Scoiety did. I’ve walked among the left and reject their vision for the world.

I could cite other examples. When I read Carl Sagan’s “The Demon Haunted World” years ago it became clear that the agenda behind climate change science is really what is important to these people… not the science itself. When we have seen what is really going on with you own eyes and see how the left turns a blind eye to it, is it any wonder that we no longer trust the press? There are way too many agendas out there by power-hungry people who think they can make the world a better place. I’ll stand for personal freedom and responsible shoulder to shoulder with Glenn any day!

Max…China has been increasing the size and strength of their military 3-5%+ in personnel and machinery for a multitude of years now, which is NO small number, and that is just what escapes into the public domain. Who are they gearing up for, Taiwan, South Korea or Japan? Not likely. If you connect all the events happening in the world right now, which the mainstream media never seems to do, this is all extremely concerning. China has the population alone that once the technological advantage of the U.S. is reduced or eliminated, they would be a formidable enemy as they can continue to throw people at the bullets until the bullets run out and keep coming. Then you add the technology that has been sold or stolen (600 super-computers by Clinton, Los Alamos secrets stolen via a Chinese citizen who gained American citizenship and was put into an area with secretive information, etc.) that advanced their military 20-30 years, you have to be wondering how long it is before the inevitable battle begins under the guise of “peacekeepers” once ‘social unrest’ begins here. Next export most of your steel industries and manufacturing base to eliminate the capacity to quickly rebuild. This, while funneling trillions of dollars to the potential enemy from our private sector in our lust for cheap products the American citizens have, further increasing our debt to them and funding the above. Now factor in the ability to make war largely resides on access to petroleum, which fuels your “war machines”, and our lack of financial stability coupled with lack of our own oil fields and you have further weakened the once great giant and have reduced the former super power (U.S.) to a country that could be beaten. I am not a war monger or conspiracy theorist by any sense of the imagination, but our National Security has been made very vulnerable by administrations on both sides of the isle for quite some time. Of course this is likely all just random unrelated events:):)

I am just as upset about Beck flaunting fear as anyone else.

Progressives and their cohorts are the most kind hearted and loveable people you’ll ever meat, ask this latina from the United Farm Workers, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsHyLAURzvA&feature=player_embedded

And luckily Beck is entirely wrong to think that a group that aligns with such methods and takes them out on a hispanic minority, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3ctO7fdrcc&feature=player_embedded

Well at least we know he has to be wrong about the world’s wealthiest elite, especially those whose biographies explain they are of Jewish decent and know the meaning of Nazi occupation, http://bit.ly/e1xK1b

Clearly the above Beck videos and articles cited show it is “Becks modus operandi. He starts with what are usually well-reasoned premises or historically accurate facts, but then he extrapolates conclusions that are wildly exaggerated, conspiratorial and hysterical. His product is Panic…” Yes Beck’s product is panic, not Frances Fox Piven’s, product the impetus of panic that Beck has made available for our consideration, to see the connections of it all, as Beck does here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFGqDGwM4Ew

Now if you noticed an absence of Beck from the above, whatever you do, don’t panic, these are merely educational aids for Progressives, necessary to hopefully get passed the bulldog Alinsky organizational training that is carried on by unions, http://www.nea.org/tools/17231.htm. Great to see your union steward at the local school is studying Saul Alinsky to better train the union members under their care in collectivism, patronage, and the “breaking of conservative necks.” But there’s no violent rhetoric there, I mean, nothing better sums up “emancipating man” than Saul Alinsky speaking about the Liberal, “Liberals may then timidly follow along or else, as in most cases, be swept forward along the course set by Radicals.” Warms the cockles of the heart of those who would be arrogant and elitist enough to think that Glenn Beck is peddling panic.

And Glenn Beck is alone in what he’s saying, infowars Alex Jones is at polar opposite to Beck, and has no basis in facts whatsoever, and is rather obviously “left” out in leftist journals when their fingerprint positions are the specific positions of a deranged Arizona shooter:

“He became intrigued by antigovernment conspiracy theories, including that the Sept. 11 attacks were perpetrated by the government and that the country’s central banking system was enslaving its citizens. His anger would well up at the sight of President George W. Bush, or in discussing what he considered to be the nefarious designs of government.” — Page 3 here, http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/16/us/16loughner.html?pagewanted=3&_r=2

Note the ideas Loughner held are in perfect alignment with Alex Jones, a stark contrast to Glenn Beck, yet not one word of Jones, when the Mainstream Media has been more than happy to blame Palin’s “lock and load” and the right in general. The videos above noted and Soros anti-sematism demonstrate the right isn’t the impetus of a reason to be concerned, and, for some, to panic, it is the left and its continuing the Dixiecrat model of racism, bias, and central control that Progressives access as though a Soul-mate connection to the Liberal psyche.

The right isn’t anti-government, we’re pro-government according to the Constitution. We see the Constitution as our saving grace, our instrument of power over government according to its language, purpose, intention, and design. We know that we don’t have power over a cabal of elitist bankers, whether they exist or not in the capacity that the anti-government left wants to promote in their anti-capitalist continuity (Title 12 Section 289). We understand that the left appreciates and embraces that the entire Federal Reserve question comes from Eustace Mullins, a socialist, who was writing “The Federal Reserve Conspiracy” (grandfather to “The Creature from Jekyl Island”) as Legal Guardian for Ezra Pound, a British socialist who hated America and capitalism. We conservatives recognize this fact is to be ignored by Jones and the rest of the anti-government, and anti-constitutionist, left.

The conservative knows we have power over government through the Constitution, and Beck, in waking the people of this nation up to this fact, as many as possible, from the left, right, and middle, who aren’t lost as followers of a Progressive (radical), is the key to a nation of free people in self-government, and re-establishment of a government of “deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Speaking out against Mr. Beck without the facts of those who are actually fomenting fear, hatred, and driving leftist panic to pressurize the situation, due to their realizing the people of this nation are waking up and not buying the “social justice” line, is to merely express your blindness to being led around by your nose when a Progressive agrees with you, and ignoring all else in religious Faith in their convictions.

If you can’t see the forest for the trees, try this, it might help you, “God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.”

      Curioso:
Great link! It clearly and simply lays out the connection between the Left and Radical Islam. Everyone needs to read this!
      http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/viewSubCategory.asp?id=291

Once you accept that the connection is real, there is still the ‘strange bedfellows’ question – why would these two groups form an alliance? Answer: Because they share some common goals (destroy the US, destroy Israel, destroy capitalism, ‘social justice’) and they intend to use each other to achieve those goals.

But to fully grasp the CONSEQUENCES of this strange alliance, you have to understand whom the Left have trusted to lead the “Day of Rage” charges into the Middle East – Bill Ayers and company. Based on their past history, they don’t plan ahead. In the sixties, their goal was to bring down the government. Period. They had absolutely no plan beyond that. They had never considered the hundreds of millions of Americans left without a working government, if they succeeded. Just ask Larry Grathwohl, the undercover agent imbedded in the Weather Underground at the time (look him up).

If you carry that ‘bad habit’ forward, you can assume that they have not considered and have no plan to handle the jihad from their ‘partners’ if they’re successful. They haven’t thought past “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. What they fail to understand is that ‘the enemy of their enemy’ will devour THEM next.

The other bizarre alliances in this explosive mix are the different factions within the Left itself. As with their Middle Eastern ‘partners’, even though they share a common goal of bringing down the US, they have vastly different ideas of what that will look like when the dust clears. If there are any of them left after “the enemy of their enemy” is finished, they will devour EACH OTHER. Meanwhile, they will have thrown the world into chaos.

Yeah, great plan guys! I can just hear the Elites after the chaos begins, “…but…but it looked great on paper…”

It’d be nice if Glenn were wrong. Unfortunately he’s right on target. The scary thing is that all of this happened before . . . as recent as 1934. A few egotistical, selfish, and arrogant men began a revolution that involved the entire world. At the end of it all 20,000,000 people were dead, Germany was just a pile of rubble, the goons that started it all were dead–some by their own hand, and the entire population of Europe went through a hellish period of starvation, exposure to severe weather, poverty, and more death. Yeah . . . those revolutionaries DID change the world, and it cost the world one hell of a price in human suffering. So . . . yeah, let the Muslim Bro’hood have their way, let Van Jones have his revolution, and let Francis F@#**$%-ed up Piven have her violence. They’re the heroes, and the leaders that have our best interests at heart. Let’s let Bill Stalin Ayres have his way. We all want to be under absolute control by egotists, megalomaniacal people who are the bastards that are looking for their whore-mothers, and dead-beat illigitimate fathers. (I hope that you read a great deal of disgust and sarcasm into my comment).

Almost every generation of Americans has had to step up – cross the line in the sand – and risk life, limb, property and everything else – to defend this noble experiment of ours. My great-grandfathers did it as part of the Texas Cavalry during the political and social unrest of the 1860′s; my grandfather did it with the 1st Infantry Division in Belgium in WWI; my Dad did it with the OSS in Belgilum and later with Patton’s Army in the march through Germany during WWII; my Uncle gave his life doing it in Korea in the 50′s; my brother gave his life doing it in Vietnam; I did it in Vietnam, Panama, and Desert Storm. My family is not unique. The country is fulled with true Americans who are either directly involved or related to those directly involved in “doing it” today. God bless them all. HOWEVER, the time may come when all of us who “frankly DO give a damm” to do it here in our own back yards. It behooves us to make sure that WE ARE ON GOD’S SIDE WHEN WE ARE DOING IT. Better yet, pray that enough people wake up in time to make these sacrifices a non issue.

Broker–try discrediting it instead of just saying it is a wild theory. This is where people like you fail–EACH AND EVERY TIME. Bots like you honestly think that by just merely saying “it’s all lies!”, it magically is the truth. While this may be true of the “hope and change” crowd that is more concerned with what’s “stylish” in voting trends and political subjects rather than that of their own demise they welcome with open arms–the rest of us dismiss you. Why? AGAIN, you have yet to disprove it. Unfortunately–Glenn is right on this one. We don’t believe it just because Glenn said it, we believe what we can actually see going on. And the left is full-on supportive of anything that supports “social justice” even if it means holding hands with the enemies of this nation to accomplish it. That is a narcissistic goal–the left actually thinks they are powerful enough to win that battle when they reach the “Utopia” at the top of the mountain. They have NO idea what they are dealing with. The enemy isn’t worried what you think, what someone else thinks, and has a reason to believe that extinguishing those they oppose is a mandate from their god. Death is no obstacle for them–especially yours.

      Yo ABC

Easy as 1,2,3 your brain to enlighten it is…

Code Pink hates Israel for their “oppression” of the Palenstineans as do many “Leftist” groups. Why else support a flotilla Israel sais they would stop…FACT….. It is not unheard of for enemies of the same enemy to befriend. The outcome is always the same, one turning on other for total power. Islam hates freedom. Socialist fruit loops hate freedom. Common enemy.

2.Sentence two: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left and extreme Islam will work together because of the common enemy of capitalism.”

Socialists, communist, Islamist and Progressives all seek to overturn Capitalism as all are against freedom. By gaining control of free markets in Capitalism Socialists eliminate Capitalism as it isn’t free markets, they are controlled, thus the opposite of free. Capitalism is free to thrive and free to fail. Anything less isn’t Capitalism. Using the Amish, which I’m familiar with, and Islam is quite unique. Amish do not force. Islam does. Socialist do as well. Amish choose not to participate as per their faith and tend to themselves. There uniqueness and similarities between Islam and Socialists is undeniable as both are all about power, elite, and knowing better then the piss ant people. Please educate yourself on Islamic Socialists as your ignorance makes you look dumb.

3.Sentence three: “Groups from the hardcore socialist left, and extreme Islam will work together to overturn relative stability, because the in the status quo, they are both ostracized from power and the mainstream in most of the world.”

ABC really? Young, way under employed and very unhappy people is the prime recipe for civil unrest. Yes this did result from a dictator. Wow what a surprise. It only takes encouragement and a great deal of organization to ignite a fire storm in which young unhappy and unemployed people to rely solely on faith and religion to get them thru or just go chaotic and fight nit even knowing why or whom against. In relying on their faith Egyptians will surely be influenced by Islam aka Muslim Brotherhood. It‘s almost absolutely stupid to think they wouldn’t. Obama will gain more power by a destabilizing country. If a Islamic controlled country comes he is ok as it helps his Gaza cause. If a socialist regime comes about even better. If it causes problem here he can use it to clamp down and gain power. By the way, I found it quite funny Yemen protestors wore Pink during their protest and had well produced signs in English. No connection right?

My ? you ABC: are you willing to denounce all the groups and stations who used propaganda against the peaceful protests of the TEA parties to make them appear to be violent or racist? If you can not shut up as you are just as bad as Mubarak and all other deceivers.

I found it quite intriguing Anderson Cooper and Rachel Madcow both commented on the trick used by Mubarak where he sent in violent people to create unrest and where he was using the Egyptian papers to discredit the first peaceful protests of the Egyptians. Same thing was used on the TEA party.

Curioso, I didn’t mean for that second piece posted to serve as a compendium but merely as one example of how even conservatives do not uniformly see Egypt or Tunisia as the work of meddling communists and radical Islamists, as Beck does. The link to discoverthenetworks.com has a lot of articles maintaining such a link, but the authors of those pieces are the usual suspects of conservatives (Pipes, Horowitz, Higgens, Goldberg, etc.) who are not experts on the Middle East but outspoken critics of all things on the left. Some are bright guys who have stuff to contribute, like Pipes, who is a first-class Russia scholar. But many others know very little and sell books that are hardly first rate, like Goldberg. In any case, you should be reading scholars on the Middle East and on democratic revolutions instead (e.g., Roger Owen, Malika Zeghal, Simon Schama, Samuel Huntington). If you are going to satisfy your curiosity, why not consult authoritative sources?

Curioso, Daniel Pipes has a nice summary of the argument alleging a link between marxists and islamists. It is important to note that he, unlike Beck, doesn’t lump the entire Democratic Party and Obama administration into this group, which includes Carlos the Jackal and the daughter. To the extent that right-wing intellectuals point to a linkage between extreme leftists and radical islamists, it exists on the far side of the political spectrum, rather than amongst the 35-40% of Americans that call themselves Democrats. Beck does Pipes a great disservice by exaggerating the threat, as he does.

The four points Pipes raises are as follows:

      1. Marxists/Communists and radical Islamists both hate Western Civilization in general and American capitalism and democracy in particular

      2. both groups want the US out of Iraq and Afghanistan, preferably leaving as losers of those wars

      3. Islamist political thought has roots in Marxist-Leninism, adopting the view of history operating in stages but with an Islamic caliphate being the final stage

      4. power–both sides need each other to credibly challenge Western civilization and US power

Setting aside the fact that Pipes is not talking about Obama or even the US Socialist Party, but hard-core leftists like the children of Che Guevara, the argument laid out is not very credible to me for various reasons. First, Marxists and Islamists hate different aspects of Western civilization for different reasons, and the extent to which they are willing to attack it is also very different. As Pipes himself notes:

” Communists are atheists and leftists secular; Islamists execute atheists and enforce religious law. The Left exalts workers; Islamism privileges Muslims. One dreams of a worker’s paradise, the other of a caliphate. Socialists want socialism; Islamists accept the free market. Marxism implies gender equality; Islamism oppresses women. Leftists despise slavery; some Islamists endorse it. As journalist Bret Stephens notes, the Left has devoted “the past four decades championing the very freedoms that Islam most opposes: sexual and reproductive freedoms, gay rights, freedom from religion, pornography and various forms of artistic transgression, pacifism and so on.”"

Second, there are lots of rivals around the world to US power that want the US out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and who do not want the US meddling in other nation’s affairs. China, India, Brazil and other rising nations greatly resent the US acting as a police state, so arguments 2 and 4 in Pipe’s analysis basically apply to anyone who is not a pro-US military neo-conservative.

Finally, Pipes has oversimplified Islamist intellectual thought to the point of it being unrecognizeable–this is the problem with reading people (even really smart, credentialled ones) when they are writing about things upon which they lack expertise). The fact is that the main ideas of Islamist though emphasis a restoration of the past, not a progression through capitalism and communism to a theocracy. The Islamists often refer to 11th to 13th century writings from the great Islamic empires of the past, as Osama bin Laden and others have done. No serious scholar of Islamic thought would connect these references to Marx. I believe Pipes confuses individuals pandering to a Soviet Union for economic aid rather than a serious linkage between the intellectual heritage of Islamists and that of the former Communist superpower.

The trouble with this entire discussion is that it misses the more important point. The popular uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen are not the culmination of Leftist-Islamist cooperation over the last 20 years, nor is it a continuation of the Iranian Revolution and 9/11–the two key dates that Pipes uses as reference points. Rather, it marks an awakening of the same democratic forces that led to the rise of our own form of government. People on the ground in Egypt and Tunisia have noted the non-ideological nature of the protests, how they are tied to a desire for more political autonomy and self-representation (not to mention better economic opportunities) rather than to some fulfilment of Marxist historical progression or Islamist restoration of the Caliphate. Young people in these countries are tired of corrupt leaders that seek to put their children in power, perpetuate unfair monopolization of economic advantage, and maintain brutal political oppression and grinding poverty in the region. The young protesters now have enough technology to know how much better their lives could be, given the example they have seen in the west. The military is not participating in the oppression since it has been trained by the US and respects our way of life. As Fareed Zakaria and others have pointed out, these countries have reached a level of economic and technological development that makes democratization possible. And, as DeTocqueville noted long ago, this move toward democracy is genetic and self-sustaining. Those that see a conspiracy of anti-American forces at work in these movements ought to go back and read old Alexis, as well as the French Revolution to see what is really going on.

America ought to be supporting this young democratic movement, rather than casting aspersions on it. The latter strategy will only fulfill the ugliest portraits of America and thereby ensure that the Marxists and Islamists are proven right. Worse, it could end Egypt and other countries down the road to Iran.

Neither does Mr. Beck he just points out that there is collaboration within the 2 groups. Which is alarming considering the antithetical basis of both groups. Common goal world domination they will work out who rules when the dust settles.
