Beck Says Obama‘s Illegal Immigration Move Is Only ’About Power’

By now most have heard about President Obama’s decision to stop deporting and start granting work permits to an estimated 800,000 young illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children. According to a new poll, the move has won favor with Latino voters in key battleground states — likely the impetus for Obama’s revelation.

In order to reap the benefits, the illegal immigrants would, according to Obama, have to have gone to college or served in the military, arrived in the U.S. prior to the age of 16 and would have to be younger than 30, among meeting other requirements.

The problem is that the move also bypasses Congress and would violate current laws in place regarding immigration. In fact, the president even admitted as much when he said:

With respect to the notion that I can just suspend deportations through executive order, that’s just not the case, because there are laws on the books that Congress has passed — and I know that everybody here at Bell is studying hard so you know that we’ve got three branches of government. Congress passes the law. The executive branch’s job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws.

There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President.

For Glenn Beck, Obama’s decision simply shows that the president is in true violation of the constitution. After a member of the mainstream media came out on Monday likening Obama’s push to “the Emancipation Proclamation,” Beck also believes the media is dead.

“I am going to have an aneurysm,” he quipped in response during his Monday evening broadcast.

This isn’t about immigration, “it’s a blatant search and grab for power,” Beck added pointedly. It’s also about “pandering for votes.”

Beck observed that the president is “taking us down a path that is the opposite of what our Founders and Constitution required” and that there will be no Constitution left after another four years of an Obama presidency.

Despite the narrative the Left routinely attempts to spin, painting Conservatives as racist “hatemongers” who do not like immigrants or immigration, Beck clarified that it is simply illegal immigration Americans by and large are concerned about. America is, after all, a melting pot, and unless one is a true Native American, we are all immigrants to some degree or other.

Obama’s most recent, flagrant disregard for America’s institutions best illustrates why Beck believes that step two of his four part plan — “Activation” and mobilizing to get out the vote — is of utmost importance if Americans are to replace Barack Obama in 2012.

      It is about POWER… but Beck is Wrong, it is not about Votes. Obama’s Job is to Defend the Constitution and Enforce the Laws of Congress… and he has violated this, now, again… without Impeachment. And, every time, he does so… he Gains MORE POWER… which allows him to perform Greater Violations. Plus, without Impeachment… the Representatives of the People act to Condone his actions. So, by Executive Orders, counter to Laws… he CHANGES the System… and he becomes DICTATOR! Thus, TREASON exists all Branches of the GOVERNMENT!

      Obama is using the Mexican/Latino community like a cheap whore. He already KNOWS that his actions violate the constitution … and that such a fiat act will be struck down. What someone like Rubio needs to do — also knowing that SOME kind of immigration law needs to happen — Rubio should air commercials in SPANISH … addressing what a leech Obama really has become. Rubio should emphasize that immigration reform needs to happen LEGALLY , in order to be LASTING. Obama is NOT the friend of Mexicans … when was the last time the Black community took-up for Latinos? … just look at ZIMMERMAN.

      11.5 illegals have been here 7+ years, and Bush did?….and did?…..and did?…and did?…….?

      We are giving Pakistan 100 million/month just to use their air space and to take supplies threw the country into Afghanistan. That’s right Bush did do something. He started two non-ending wars at TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

      100 million/month……I can’t even enjoy the Olympics now.

      I do see a Marxist in the White House and that scares me. That is normal. Our country is founded on basic checks and balances afforded to us by our Founding Fathers.

      The people of America have elected him and I must accept this.

      It’s a very GREAT Thing!

      Americans now realize what it is like to have a Marxist as President that cares about his Power and not the American “People”.

      We have grown as Americans over the last 4 years and we have a chance now to take back simple freedoms that will protect our children… I honestly hope.

      52% of us pay Federal Income Tax in this country, so we are still needed to prop up this Faux Government.

      Stand down “Brother”, because our children need us more now then ever if we are to endure as a country.

      @Encinom – When you disrespect the will of the people, the function of government and the Constitution itself what type of respect do you think you are entitled to? I respect the office of the presidency in stark contrast of the person holding such office. If you hold no restrictions upon yourself that have been in place specifically to avoid such abuses of power, what kind of leader are you that thinks you hold all of the answers hence the 3 branches of government? The US has been the most powerful country for over a century because our past presidents have NOT engaged in transformations of our entire government to this level. If you wanted my respect ENCINOM, you would first have to earn it! Typical liberal that wants respect by virtue of existence alone! No wonder the world is turning into a piece of crap.       Reagan was taken advantage of just like so many, he was led to believe that somehow we could grant the current group of Illegals amnesty then stop the flow so the problem would go away. The latter did not occur.

      My “Bigotry” is that people should abide by the law, and yet, here we have a President picking and choosing what laws he wants to follow for his own expediency. Tell me, would you agree so much if a US President declared that he would not prosecute any people who bomb abortion clinics because he disagrees with Roe v. Wade? Or perhaps a better example, that he would not prosecute any police officer for committing non violent crimes because they are police. Either the law is the law, or it is a useless blotch of ink on paper.

      For all the people who are stuck at the back of the immigration line because of the Illegals, this is an insult. Cut off the flow of Illegals and then move to fix the system, otherwise we have nothing to discuss. And if the Mexicans want to whine about how it is unfair, I’ll be happy to introduce them to all the people awaiting authorization to enter this country the legal way.

He picked Trayvon Martin to whip the black voters into a frenzy, he gave that creepy contrived “interview” to say he is for gay marriage to throw the gay voters something they could sink their teeth into, and now since its apparently Christmas in June he is granting this work card/amnesty to the Hispanics. That is all he has, because he has sucked big time as a president, he’s either Santa or an empty suit. I am thinking its the latter.

    Is there anything that BO does not about power? Of course he’ll do anything to stay in power, if it means selling all of us out. Just think, we’ve still got about 30 weeks until inauguration day (assuming Romney wins). That’s at least 30 more executive decisions or selective law non-enforcements to go to pander for votes. How many more trillions of dollars of damage will be done by then? I dread the answer.

      MRSPEEDWAGON, don’t let it get you down or overwhelm you. When the political situation starts to depress you, do like I do. Just let it go for a while. Right now I’m going to turn off the computer, turn on the TV, and watch Adventure Time or some other silly cartoon. Empty my mind with the pretty colors and amusing plotlines until I doze off. And just say to hell with it until tomorrow.

    I truly believe all of the things Obama is doing is just an attempt to force the hand of the people to do something about it and thus the blacks would rise up and burn America to the ground by rioting coast to coast allowing Obama to impose martial law.
    From denying access to all of his records to his blantant anti-constitutional behavior I believe he is taunting Congress to try and impeach him.
