Beck Talks to O’Reilly About His Future After Fox News

Since announcing his departure from his Fox News show, a lot of people have been wondering what Glenn Beck is going to do once he goes.
From what he told Bill O’Reilly last night, it sounds like Beck only has plans to become a bigger force in the media world, though he still remained vague about what he was actually planning on doing.
Beck acknowledged the platform that Fox News had given him, saying “there’s no place to do cable news except for Fox“ but he also said ”it’s a new era, things are changing in the world,” hinting that he would be held back by staying at Fox.
“We have to reach different audiences, we have to reach younger.”
Beck‘s coming transition is also the focus of O’Reilly ‘s latest column:
My pal Glenn Beck is leaving his program on the Fox News Channel later this year. This has caused great joy among some uber-liberals who object to free speech as well as to anything Beck. The Media Matters outfit took just seconds to misstate why Beck is changing venues, but what else is new? George Soros partially funds Media Matters, so why would the website ever say anything truthful when far left propaganda is so much easier to dish?
When you get past all the rubbish, Glenn Beck is really Norm, the guy on the sitcom “Cheers.” He sits on a symbolic barstool and vents. He sees bad things happening to his country and objects. Because his rap is so interesting, millions of Americans want to hear it. So what on earth is wrong with that?
If you just got off the plane from Mongolia and dialed into the left-wing U.S. media, you might think Glenn Beck is the anti-Christ. The hue and cry about Beck is downright hysterical. Why do they care? Beck isn’t an elected official; he’s not even a journalist. He’s just a guy with an opinion. So what’s the beef?
Read the rest of Bill’s column here.

Their “newscasters” are bleach blond broads with a few handsome guys thrown in the mix. Crap is the result. No different from CNN or the others. Cavuto and the Judge are ok. But the real rub is that fox is showing its true colors, bowing to the political powers and going with the money. Same old story.
End story is fox doesn‘t have the backbone that’s needed to stand up and do the right thing. (( sigh ))

Posted on April 10, 2011 at 3:52pmPay attention Fox fans! This is the beginning of many changes at your favorite conservative cable channel –
James Murdoch is more comfortable talking business. His is a kind of corporate stream-of-consciousness, delivered super-fast, in east-coast American, with the odd Anglicism thrown in. His newspapers are “products”, their readers are “customers” and the Sunday Times is a “multi-format proposition”. He actually says “crackers” and “golly”—words last heard when British children read the stories of Enid Blyton and drank ginger pop. An upward lilt at the end of some sentences is the only sign of his Australian heritage (he has barely spent any time Down Under). His speech leaves little room for interjections, plenty for corporate platitudes. It all sounds rather as if he’s swallowed News Corp’s annual report, with a couple of MBA textbooks for pudding. With Rupert Murdoch as his father, he didn’t need to go to business school, but he certainly sounds as if he did.
http://moreintelligentlife.com/story/invisible-mogul
O’Reilly had better hope James is more interested in profits than politics! He may be looking for a spot on Beck’s new “media outlet”.

They are not a moral people driven by any greater good, but manipulators seeking power, control, and a means to give purpose for their already meaningless lives.
I disagree with not only the timing, but the decision to leave Fox news. All he did was Bolster the left, make them actually think they are being effective.

Posted on April 10, 2011 at 8:49pmUh, no it’s not about envy. What’s there to be envious about? His theories are stupid and he loves Sarah Palin. I do support Glenn in his effort to deal with the debt, and first amendment rights.
Report Post »RockstarRepublic
Posted on April 10, 2011 at 9:19pmDarth, his theories are NOT stupid. If they were, no one would give them any mind. They are however founded in concrete information, backed by evidence and to a rational mind hold plausibility. The only stupid people are those who refuse to accept any possibility, but rather live in a perceptual confirmation bias. His theories are no more stupid as the theory of the big bang, or the idea we evolved from fish to primates to humans. Our society exists on theories, but some are passed off as fact for some odd reason. The theories that hold the most water are also based in concrete facts, of which, lines are drawn to connect them to a larger picture. If you deny that a larger picture cannot exist, then you indeed are part of the stupid. The smart will consider both the micro and macro levels of events, movements and the over all picture.
Look at world history, tell me what pattern you see? Peace never lasts long. Groups are constantly trying to undermine peace in order to impose another failed concept, it doesnt matter if its the Roman empire, the ottoman empire or even the entire Nazi land grab (not really that long ago in the scope of things). As one generation forgets the lessons learned though their grandparents, they begin to commit to the same damn mistakes. One of our founding fathers has said, Democracy never lasts long, it flares up and soon extinguishes itself.
Catastrophy is manufactured in human history, time and time again we will repeat it, especially if we keep ignoring the causes and effects, the denial of not considering whose pulling the strings and why. Divide and conquer, the most important rule of war (even political war). Progressivism and even Islam are the next major threats which will impact most of the modern world. Both have agendas that will destabilize and create chaos and war. The rise of progressive power since the 1920′s should be all the information you need to see how far the US has fallen, how Nazism was actually tied to US-Progressives, the ideas of Eugenics and race warfare. It isnt gone from the US or the world, it has only evolved and continues to gain power and influence.
Life is crazy, human history is crazy, there are crazy people out there…. so to decide just because something is crazy it is not real or cannot happen makes you equally as insane.
Report Post »DarthVader
Posted on April 10, 2011 at 11:58pmIt’s important to remind ourselves what is a fact and what is an opinion, they are very different. There is overwhealming scientific observation that around 14 billion years ago the universe was much smaller. True, science cannot explain the first second or so, but science is open to hear testable theories. Science wants to look at all the facts hear contratictory opinions. Glenn does not. Glenn thinks you need to hear ONLY his opinion. An opinion that, in most people’s mind, is not at all fair and balanced. Please look at how O’Reilly does things. He has his opinions, and then he brings on guests that have opposing opinions. That’s balancing things out. It’s important, right?
I agree with you that we need to learn our history. We need to learn it and continue watching government, watch it and make sure our liberties are not taken away. What do you think about the supreme court ruling that corporations have NO LIMIT on the amount they can contribute to a campaign. Does that take away people’s liberty? Glenn doesn’t talk about that does he?
If Glenn knew what he was doing, why doesn’t he get involved, run for congress and give us some specific details. This is what bugs me about the Beck’s, Limbaugh‘s and the Hannity’s, they just complain and don’t get involved and come up with solutions.
I have good news for you on Progressivism and Islam, you can relax, they ARE NOT the next major threats that will impact the world:) You are buying into the fearmongering perpetrated by Fox types. Did you know over 2 million Muslims live in the US, peacefully, lawfully, trying to raise families and be good citizens? You know we’ve lost thousands of Americans to bring peace and Democracy to the Muslim countries of Iraq, Afganistan, and now Libya. Muslims want freedom as well. If we fear them, that makes things worse. We need to know that indeed there are a few dangerous radicals, very few. And as far as progressives go, I want you to open your mind to the idea that Glenn has not been completely fair in his description to you about them. Please read the wikipedia definition and think for yourself if they really come from a dangerous place.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressivism_in_the_United_States
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressivism
Life can certainly be crazy, human history had crazy things happen. That‘s why it’s up to every individual to really do critical analysis, get a varity of opinions, and really put some effort into what is real and what is important. And in my opinion, when it comes to exposing the big corruption in government, I say follow the money.
Report Post »RockstarRepublic
Posted on April 11, 2011 at 6:45amDarth, the fact that you say “Glenn thinks you need to hear ONLY his opinion. An opinion that, in most people’s mind, is not at all fair and balanced” just goes to show you do not actually watch his show. Unlike your backing of scientific theories, you base your opinion of Beck on nothing more than assumption probably based on hearsay.
I cannot count how many times Glenn has said on his show, “Do not trust me, or anyone, do your own home work.” He is constantly telling his viewers to not take his word for it, but to begin researching it themselves. He brings up the subjects few will, and its up to the rest to verify or find out.
To suggest he just wants people to believe him and call it a day is absurd. Its a plain out lie.
As for the Progressive Movement and Islam. Sorry champ, My stance on that came to fruition long before I even heard of Glenn Beck, much less his time on CNN or Fox. Ironically I am a very educated individual from a very liberal university. Beck says the Truth Has No Agenda. This is true, for me it has always been the Truth will set you free. It should be free of biases from either side or movement.
Tell me, what do you know of the relationship between US Progressives and the Nazi movement? What immigrants and their ideologies are behind the foundation of US Progressivism as well as even the NeoCon movement?
Fact is, you say that unlike Beck’s theories, the Big Bang is based off evidence (which you call fact) that the universe is expanding. The big hypocrisy here is at the same time, they ignore the fact that both astrophysics (laws of physics) prove otherwise. Planets rotating at different speeds, directions, angles and all with their own varying and often conflicting velocities, shows that the theory still is hard to swallow (yet some still take it as fact and dont bother to think otherwise, which is foolish).
On the other hand, there is more concrete evidence, the movements own words, the clear numbers of a growing debt and failing system, the people behind it and their past, the origin of the ideal, the origin of much of the suffering in the 21st century. Do you really just ignore these? How foolish are you to not put them all on the table and see the course we have been going for the past 70 years? Its not hidden you know. Look at the other countries, the groups involved, the people and the direction. The whys and why nots for decision making, and who benefits the most out of them. If you think its all mere coincidence that keeps on happening then you sir are a fool.
What do you know of Forensic Science? In short, observe, study past and present, look at the course and direction, take the pieces and spread them across the table, connect the dots, find motives, verify, who benefits, why, how, what…. Tell me, is this process really not worth believing? Because quite frankly that is the same thing Beck is doing, and many others do constantly. Its not just in Forensic Science either.
You downplay Becks objective pieces of information, the hypothis he forms you do not have to believe in, but what do you do with the concrete facts? What do you do with the questions he DOES raise? Do you even try to seek the truth or is it just too “crazy” for you? Honestly I dont know how anyone can see it as crazy, this has only been going on for years upon years. Its not well hidden, society is fragile, governments, economies, people and their habitats, it is all fragile.
Get educated man! Start doing some homework!

Somehow though, I feel this last friday, providence has shined upon the nation and events will start changing for the better – it will take time and not lack for ease or pain; yet we as a people can do it.
This is the generation of the Refounders and Restorers. We will be known in the future as those who fought for right, and with the Almighty guiding us. The nations greatest future is ahead of all of us.
Our parents and grandparesnts – depending on which generation we are part of – fought in the great war to save freedom and liberty.
This is now our great war, to save the nation from darkness within and without; the fight of ideals and of choice, the light or the night.
My choice is made.
We all now will stand or fall on those we have made.

Posted on April 10, 2011 at 4:22pmSHOW and CEM….most people are already boycooting Fox News and MSNBC. Many can’t afford cable t.v. in the 1st place. Glenn understands that he doesn’t appeal to younger Americans. And neither did Olbermann. People want the truth..from the source..weather it’s about radiation in Japan, war in the Middle East, conflict in Gaza, the state of the economy. We don’t want Fox or MSNBC filtering the truth through idiological strainers and regurgitating it back to us in right-wing or left-wing opinionized spewing. The world is turning to the internet for information and news.and that’s were the young people are.

Posted on April 10, 2011 at 5:49pmI disagree with the comparison of Beck to Norm from ‘Cheers’.
He is an educator. There is sooo much I would be ignorant of without having learned it from Beck.
That goes for all of America too! Who would know who Soros is without Beck. Much of what Beck has given on the show has necessarily wound up being told on other networks. Even if not as indepth as Beck presents it. Beck is always ahead of the curve. And lets face it! His analysis and predictions have all pretty much come true.
I don’t know what is really going on over there with FOX and Beck, but it‘s FOX’s loss and the viewers.
BTW,

Do you read anything Glenn says or writes, especially the joint news release from FOX and Glenn–FOX DID NOT LET GLENN GO! Rather, it was a mutual decision.
Do you subscribe to the Extreme Insider? If you did you would have seen that Glenn was struggling with this decision for some time. He was “box in” on FOX. Could only say important things once in a while and in very general ways. He was to share so much more for all and some that only “Those that have ears, will hear”!
So, forget FOX. You will still see him on there with special reports. Get in the know and connect other ways if you really care!

Posted on April 10, 2011 at 11:10pmI think there is a misunderstanding here.
First, Glenn’s contract with Fox is coming to an end. If both sides don’t agree on a new deal, then there won’t be a new deal. That doesn’t mean Fox is canning Glenn. Maybe Glenn is walking away? Maybe Glenn feels it’s time to move to the next phase.
Secondly, those of you who are saying “I will miss Glenn” are not paying attention. He’s not going away. He’s not stopping his message. He will have other avenues whether it’s heavy internet or his own TV Network or whatever. But it‘s not like he’s going into hiding. You will still have access to Glenn.
DarthVader— you’re right in that Glenn is cashing in on this. But so what? I believe Glenn thinks he‘s doing a good work and I believe he believes whole heartedly in what he’s doing. If he’s making good cash while doing that, so be it. What’s wrong with earning a living? I don’t think this is a man who is trying to sell bull to get rich, but rather trying to spread a certain message while doing it as an occupation. He’s an entrepreneur as well as an orator. Nothing wrong with that, IMO.

Boycott the companies in the list, not because of Olbermann’s suspension; boycott them because of the malicious and disparaging remarks that he and the rest of MSNBC’s reporters have made in reference to Beck and the entire Fox News Network!

I know a little about what Beck will be up against because I tried this about 7 years ago and fell on my face miserably (still have the scars to prove it). Getting young people to a venue is easy, the hard part is keeping their attention for more than 5 minutes. As Glenn tries this we should all take notes, then we need to replicate if it works. It is the youth that will, or will not, save this country. Our job as old farts is to educate them to the truth, and rip out all the progressive BS from their mushy little brains. If we could somehow get endorsed by all the Beer companies… we will have won half the battle.

Posted on April 11, 2011 at 3:51amBrutus O’Reilly mischaracterizes Glenn yet again. Glenn does not “sit on a symbolic barstool,” like your average alcoholic. Unlike O’Reilly, he is taking a stand for this country, and the principles and values upon which it was founded. Glenn does not “vent”. Unlike O’Reilly, he consistently EXPOSES the lies, the corruption and the nefarious agenda of our governing elite with proof in hand.
My two cents: We can express our gratitude toward Glenn in a practical way, namely, by boycotting O’Reilly. Why not give FOX the daily kick where it really, really hurts, and start doing it now. After Glenn leaves, we can proceed to boycott the 5pm slot. It may not be easy for some, but Glenn has sacrificed everything, risked everything for We the People. Please find it in your heart to be loyal. Glenn may be all we’ve got left in the media, but let’s not kid ourselves; the media has pretty much deserted him as well.
