Beck Tells O‘Reilly Why Trump Is Making Him a ’Little Uncomfortable’

After initially teasing O’Reilly by claiming that he was “dismissive” of Trump, Beck began his analysis in a positive light, calling Trump “a guy who gets things done” and someone he “really respects,” but still confessing that he has “made me a little uncomfortable recently.” O’Reilly rebutted by approving of Trump’s harsh language on China and the economy, which was precisely what concerned Beck. “the whole ‘I’m going to go pound China’… you can’t just go pound China!” he complained, which, to the casual Beck viewer may be surprising given his national debt fears, but is rather consistent with his ideology. Amidst much of the theater the consistent looming threat of America falling under that defines his program, it is easy to forget that Beck is first and foremost a libertarian, which means a lot of Trump’s neo-conservative “to the victor go the spoils” invasion talk just doesn’t sit too well. And the birther talk, when Trump, “releas[ed] a birth certificate worse than Obama’s,” appeared to be another layer of self-parody that pushed Beck away.

Posted on April 2, 2011 at 5:30pmGlenn, I can see your point about Donald Trump being too provocative, in that people will pay attention to him just for the show, instead of making his case with facts. It‘s difficult enough that you are one of the very few presenting the facts and communicating in a way we can all understand after a hard day’s work. What you do makes people want to know more about the facts you present, which in TV land is quite miraculous. But even though Donald has connections and has his own angle on what’s going on, he is just the opening show. You are the truthmeister
The thought of Donald wishing to collaborate with you is kind of cool. Do you think it could happen? I’ll tune in for sure! Love the Donald.

I agree. This country needs Glenn Beck and his crackerjack staff. They did wake up millions.
This country needs Donald Trump too. Perhaps the “BIRTHER” label will become tres chic.
As always media deals with soundbites not detail. They only mention the birth certificate ad nauseum and then quickly distance themselves from the “NUTS” that would pursue this absurd idea.
But the truth is that…, it is NOT just the birth certificate. It is ALL of President Barry Dunham’s records that he will not release. Occidental College? Harvard University? Passport info? yadda, yadda. It seems to me that anyone with a modicum of common sense would question this. And why pay lawyers to keep all of these records from the public? It’s weird!
It was the idiot Progressive Dems who started the asinine brouhaha that McCain wasn’t a citizen because he was born in Panama. McCain produced evidence that yes, even though born in Panama, he was a U.S. citizen. Yet anyone questioning President Barry Dunham is a birther?!Yeah, THAT makes total sense.
I understand why Glenn distances himself from the issue. He and staff have enough on their proverbial plates. Non?
Speak without fear? Well, Donald Trump has the cajones to do just that.
Our Founding Fathers were a motley crew. Why should the “Refounders” be any less?
I do not think that “The Donald ” will survive a primary. But President Trump sounds better to me than President Romney.

Could it be Fox owns the channel? If I were Beck (like saying if I were George Washington) I wouldn’t risk being removed altogether. Better to pick and choose and ultimately win the war.

Posted on April 2, 2011 at 5:24pmWhenever questions about Mr. Obama’s documents are raised the question always seems to turn into questions about the questioner and the question of documents is forgotten. I am surprised that Glen Beck makes this mistake. Americans need to have access to Mr. Obama’s secret documents so they can make up their own minds. Donald Trump’s personality, motives, ambitions and other qualities have nothing to do with the issue. Mr. Beck’s feelings of discomfort with Donald Trump have nothing to do with the issue. The issue is one of documentation plain and simple. Mr. Obama is withholding a number of important documents from Americans, beginning with his original birth certificate, that a growing number of Americans would like to have made available to them. Mr. Obama is a public employee who works for the American people. He has no business keeping these documents secret. It is perfectly obvious to any honest person that he is trying to hide something from Americans. The sooner he releases any and all documents desired by Americans who have concerns about him, the better it will be for everyone.

Is that really the type of person you think can fix this country. Furthermore, he hasn’t proposed any solutions. All he does is continually tell everyone how smart he is and that he doubts Obama was born in the US. Posted on April 2, 2011 at 9:46pmI would have to know a lot more about where he stands on a number of issues. Donald Trump has some explaining to do.
Here is a little recent history about Donald Trump that can be easily research and proven to be correct. Just like I posted some information about Governor Chris Christie and why I would not for him to be President Of these Great United States, I will do the same for Donald Trump.
Donald Trump donated to:
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand from New York: he gave her $10,000 in the primary election in Sept., another $2,400 again in the primary in Sept., he also gave her another $2,400 in the General Election
In Feb. of 2010 Donald Trump gave $2,000 in the primary to Anthony Weiner.
Donald Trump gave $400 to Chuck Schumer in the Primary Election. Then Donald Trump gave another $1,600 to Chuck Schumer in the General Election.
Nov. 2009 Donald Trump gave $2,300 in the General Election to Hillary Clinton and then gave her another $1,700.
Donald Trump gave $2,400 in the General Election in Oct. 2009 to Charlie Crist and another $2,400 in the Primary Election before that.
Donald Trump gave Carolyn Maloney Democrat Gun Controller $1,000 in the Primary Election.
Donald Trump gave Bill Nelson Democrat of Nebraska, $2,000 in the Primary Election.
In May 2009, Donald Trump gave another $2,000 in the Primary Election to Chuck Schumer.
In March 2009, Donald Trump gave $2,400 in the Primary Election to Harry Reid.
Donald Trump backed and gave $6,900 to Liberal Democrat Robert Andrews running in the Democrat Primary Election for the Senate in New Jersey.
In 2008, Donald Trump gave Arlen Spector $1,300 in the Primary Election.
In January 2008, Donald Trump gave $25,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Donald Trump on the Second Amendment:
Supports the ban on assault weapons and he also supports a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.
Why has Donald Trump supported Liberal Democrats for office in the past?
Donald Trump has given very little money to solid conservatives. So the question remains, who is Donald Trump?

Newscasts and newspapers are written at the ninth grade level. Hence, no “50-cent“ or ”dollar” words are used, only “10-cent“ and ”25-cent” words are used, so that people will understand. It is reasonable to assume that there are some intelligent grammar school and junior high school students watching the program, in addition to high school and beyond in age who watch.

If you had a radio program and a television show to put together EACH DAY, wouldn’t you be under pressure, too? Add to that if someone threatened the lives of your family, and you have pressure. He wore a bullet-proof vest at the Lincoln Memorial. He has hired security guards. He’s been seriously threatened.

Beck could just be uncomfortable with BOR because, if Beck makes a profound statement, BOR will either cut him off or disagree with Beck. Maybe Beck doesn’t want to start a war on national television! As long as Beck gets his point across, even by being goofy, he’s made his point.

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 11:44amHe can be comfortable on O’Reilly. I love it that he can be himself. Goofy? SO WHAT? Do you ever get goofy? IF YOU HAD THAT MUCH STRESS ON YOURSELF, you’d want an escape, too. I so look up to Beck, as imperfect and as goofy as he is, HE HAS BEEN HONEST WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. It’s very sad that everyone on this board can pick on Beck when their own little perfect lives are pristine. Well, are they? What other person on TV is as honest as he is? I don’t know of any that would put himself out there for all to stomp all over and then bounce back and do it all over again. O’Reilly is right of the middle. He will agree with anyone who says they love America. It would make no difference who they’d stab in the back. O’Reilly IS JUST RIGHT OF THE CENTER and to me, that means he is very much a liberal. WHY? Because if the going gets rough, the middle will cave to the left. HE WILL AGREE WITH THE LEFT TO KEEP HIS OWN BASE. Mark my words. O’Reilly is not in this field because HE LOVES AMERICA. I am sure he does, but that is not why he is in this business. He is in this business to make money. I do not believe Glenn Beck got into this business to make money. I believe he actually saw the decline in America by the liberal left and decided to step up to the plate and try to draw attention to what they were doing. Has he made money? OF COURSE, HE HAS. I think he would do it all over again, even if he did not make a dime. Glenn LOVES this country. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY and I can relate to everything Glenn says. If you cannot, then you are a liberal. If you can, then start backing those people who want to restore America to its founding Fathers’ ways, especially those persons who spend all their time doing so. RESTORE AMERICA TO ITS FOUNDING PRINCIPLES. Stop nitpicking on Glenn and LOOK AND LISTEN TO WHAT HE IS STANDING FOR. If you agree with him, then STAND BESIDE/WITH HIM. If you don’t, then go to your liberal blogs and spew that crap there. We don’t want to hear it here. WHY? BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY LOVE THIS COUNTRY FOR WHAT IT WAS, NOT WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO CHANGE IT TO, socialist.

The facts betray you, my friend. I have sitting on my PC the latest ratings. Glenn Beck’s ratings are a consistent 2.3-2.5 million for the past 2 years. Only during the election cycle have they been somewhat higher than that. Beck‘s ratings are almost exactly the same as Hannity’s, but with one BIG difference. Hannity is on during prime time, and Beck is on in the middle of the afternoon. All other things being equal, Beck’s rating would no doubt surpass those of Hannity. Hannity’s ratings, by the way, didn’t increase much during the election cycle. They have been flat for years.

Posted on April 2, 2011 at 5:28pmKind of off topic here, but important, I think…
A previous story (I was just back reading) had a lot of threads and comments regarding “impeaching” Clinton (or Obama or who ever) and I find it difficult to believe that a lot of you here do not even understand the meaning of the word. Most of you seemed (not all) to believe that it meant that somebody was getting “ousted” from office.
Impeach just means to formally ACCUSE of misconduct. After impeachment there’s a trial on the charges, but no guarantee what the punishment will be, as was the case with Clinton, who WAS impeached. They had a trial, he was convicted of some of the charges, but obviously was not removed from office. You could call for Obama’s impeachment, and even that doesn’t guarantee he is going to be removed from office. Impeach is only a kind of legislative term for “indict.”
PS… I didn’t see anybody on that old story respond, and everyone had moved on, so I post this here… just in case anybody still doesn’t understand the term. A lot of misconception on this one. Rangel’s punishment recently was “censure” by the Senate… big deal… slap on the wrist.

To clarify, the House presents articles of impeachment for a vote. If it — or they — pass, the articles then go to the Senate. The Senate is the trial part. The Senate either convicts or not by vote. If the defendant (such a the POTUS) is convicted, he is escorted out of office, and in this case, the White House.
Bill Clinton was impeached, but the reason he stayed in office is that the Senate did not convict him.
Richard Nixon was not impeached only because he resigned on August 9, 1974, before the House could do so and the Senate could vote to convict him.

1. In islam, a muslim can only marry a non-muslim if the non-muslim converts to islam first. Thats the only way that marriage is legit in the eyes of sharia.
2. Any child born to 2 muslim parents is a muslim. It doesn’t matter if the parents are natural-born muslims or naturalized muslims or a combination thereof.
3. Obama’s mom exclusively married muslims ( one kenyan, one indonesian) , She must have converted.
What we need to see are the mom’s divorce records . Those will be a treasure trove of info .

______________________-
Can’t argue your points…exactly why I lean toward his being moos-lim…also, the very deceptive nature of directives from the Qur’an itself…
Qur’an (16:106) – Establishes that there are circumstances that can “compel” a Muslim to tell a lie.
Qur’an (3:28) – This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to “guard themselves.”
Qur’an (9:3) – “…Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters…” The dissolution of oaths with the pagans who remained at Mecca following its capture.
Qur’an (40:28) – A man is introduced as a believer, but one who must “hide his faith” among those who are not believers.
Being a moos-lim can hardly be categorized (in my opinion) as a “religion”…the very nature of its’ deceptiveness is more in keeping with a “cult” or a “political ideology”…but certainly NOT A RELIGION…

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 3:03am@LIBERTYLUVNMOMMA,
I was delighted with Trump bringing up the birth certificate issue as it definitely needs a whole lot of scrutiny and is right about China in many respects. Donald Trump is one who although he may be financially wealthy is one who can never have enough money, that would make him as vulnerable if not more so than most of the other candidates to be persuaded by it. The only one that I know of who is not vulnerable to its persuasion is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney’s main motivation is he absolutely loves huge challenges and to fix problems. Love him or hate him that is what motivates him and that is what I personally like about him. He does have to get very aggressive in making his case and start showing the voters how conservative he really is and that his health care vision in Massachusetts did not survive the sausage making process and come clean on that. I also like Herman Cain, Allen West and Marco Rubio other than those I mentioned, I see no one else who is sincere, honest and competent enough to really get our country back closer to constitutional principles. Michele Bachmann is actually quite moderate in a lot of ways as is Christie, and Sarah Palin while very conservative, I just do not see her having any chance of winning. Huckabee is such a joke I really hope he does not run, and Ron Paul will get 1 to 2% nationally and low double digits in a couple states and if he were a true patriot he would step aside to insure Obama is defeated.

It’s going to require someone with the cajones, like Trump, to tell it like it is when it comes the radicalization and destruction Obama and the radical left-wingers of the democratic party are forcing on America.
Maybe Trump can’t win and maybe he can, but, if nothing else, he will force the other candidates to “man up” unlike John McCain did.

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 7:19amI like Trump and find him to be a much-needed breath of fresh air! It’s about time we had a courageous, non-PC, and highly-successful person speak out and say what many of us are thinking…
Trump is honest and straight forward in putting America first, and he’s NOT a beltway incumbent! He’ll certainly shake things up, and this is precisely what we need today.
OUT with the old (the usual line-up of two-faced Presidential contenders) and IN with the new!

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 8:38amI don’t think Trump will actually run, but he is useful, in that he is highlighting things that need to be brought to the country’s attention, and in a way that serious contenders can’t risk doing.
Let‘s look at the issue of The Messiah’s birth certificate. Why do you think the potential Republican candidates won’t touch it, or keep saying they take his word as to his birth? If BO suddenly produces the “long-form” that proves he was born in Hawaii, it would be a serious blow to any candidate that had made it an issue.

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 10:37amThe other night, I heard Glenn telling us that he tells his sponsors: “If I ever hear about you ripping off my viewers, I will expose you!”
It’s time for Glenn to do that! He stopped having Peter Schiff on his show after Peter exposed how Goldline marks up their gold coins by 67%! That means, if you bought gold from them when it was at $800 (now it’s like $1400), you still wouldn’t have a profit!
I want to believe in you Glenn, but you are looking more committed to money than principle!

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 11:31amIf I were all of you, I would really THINK LONG AND HARD about what Beck is saying. Trump IS a showboat. He has always loved being in the limelight. AND, when someone loves being in the limelight, then it is only THEIR best interests that are important to them. He may love America, but listen to the man talk. It’s always me, my, myself, I, etc. A politician cannot win on putting himself on a pedestal. HE MUST PUT AMERICANS AND AMERICA ON THAT PEDESTAL.
Beck has not been wrong before. His predictions have all come true. As nice and somewhat appealing as Trump is, there is just something about him that doesn’t sit too well with me either. I think he is cowtowing to the conservative/TEA PARTY base. The man really has no real substance. Yes, he was a business man. But, he has no finesse; no elegance, no class, and nothing that would make us proud, as Americans. Glenn Beck is correct. LISTEN TO YOUR GUT PEOPLE. Trump is not the guy to get our country back. Actually, I think Beck is, but since he won’t run, I think Ron Paul could do the job very well. RON PAUL could actually get a lot done in 4 years.
If we, as Americans, do not come up with someone we all can agree with, to run for President against this insane current President, we are all in big, big trouble. DO YOU ALL UNDERSTAND THAT? Life, as you are used to, is going to be totally over. You can kiss your money goodbye, your freedom goodbye, and your joy, goodbye. IT WILL ALL BE OVER if Obama or someother liberal gets the White House. WE WILL BE DONE AS A COUNTRY. You all talk on this board as if you have another day left. WE DO NOT. We all need to work together with our local politicians to get rid of these liberal agendas. If you have a liberal politician, then scream at him. If you have a conservative politician in your area, scream at him too. Let them know how much you LOVE America and how much you HATE what this administration is doing. STAND UP TO THEM.
If you do not, YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DID NOT DO MORE……YOU REALLY WILL.

@ chickenlittle
“…I agree he should be impeached for any any everything they can throw at him…convict him (it should be easy)… ”
Not only would it NOT be easy…it would be impossible at this current time unless he can be shown to be an alien-imposter without a BC. The reason…
As I have posted ….An impeachment trial is held in the Senate, and a two-thirds vote is required to convict the Prez. The Dems hold a majority in that chamber, and in this current partisan climate, good luck getting 2/3 of the Senate to convict him on anything. It’s simple really, if you wanted to remove the President, we should have replaced another dozen Senate Democrats last November.
The point I want to make is that most people don’t seem to understand the huge importance of the Constitutional provision that requires a Presidential candidate to be a “Natural born citizen”. If obama does not fulfill that requirement, it would be the most credible basis we would have to Impeach him, and no Democrat Senator could refuse to convict him without violating the Constitution. A 2/3 majority would be very likely. Another benefit would be that all the communist legislation that he has signed while in office would likely be voided….including Obamacare.
I’m not a Trump fan, but thank God one of the boys at the top finally found the courage to bring this topic into the National debate…even if he’s just using the issue to get publicity. Yep, I’m a birther and proud of it. We need a law requiring every Presidential candidate to show a long version of his BC as a requirement to run for office (since the Democrats don’t read the Constitution anymore). ….rf

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 12:59pmMany of you have wondered why Glenn acts goofy and seems to step lightly around Bill O’Reilly. I have wondered this and contemplated on it often myself and have what I believe is the answer.
Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly both have very hot tempers and I think that Glenn knows it would be very ugly if him and Bill got into a real argument and neither of them would be able to control, and I think him and Bill are really good friends and Glenn in his wisdom can clearly see a huge falling out that would happen if he were to push his point too far when disagreeing with Mr. O’Reilly. Glenn being the adult in the room goes a bit out of his way to stop this from happening and realizes that BOR does not have that degree of foresight. They together are like too ticking time bombs. Agree or not that is my assessment and I think there is a lot of truth to it. Both of them do have a history of some very out of control on air moments.

Posted on April 3, 2011 at 4:47pmThe difference with Perot being that he ran as an independent which split the Republican vote and handed Clinton the election. Trump is talking of running as a Republican. He might upset things during the primary but unless he starts running independent or a third party, the effect should be blunted.

I agree with you and Glenn Beck we really need to be wary of Donald Trump. I cannot believe that Americans can still be so gullible after what we witnessed with Obama getting elected. We should be very very wary and slow to trust anyone who wants our vote. We should also demand much higher scrutiny of them to the point to where those who have nothing too hide are almost begging to be vetted.

Great comments I think you are spot on and people really do need to give Glenn Beck a break. It could be that by the time he makes it to the O’Reilly segment of the day he is ready to relax and just be himself and maybe he is all confronted out for the day. I know of no body who could keep the rigorous schedule of Glenn Beck and endure all of the hate, threats and mockings and still have his sense of humor. I think he is a much bigger person than any of his critics.
