Beck to Listeners: ‘Push Back’ Against Viral Chick-fil-A Picture Claiming Christians Don’t Feed the Poor Enough

Glenn Beck Tells Listeners to Share Blaze Article on Christian Compassion

Earlier today, TheBlaze brought you a viral image that’s been making its way around social media. The picture and its accompanying text essentially allege that American Christians fail to adequately feed and equip the poor. Glenn Beck responded this morning on his radio show, dispelling the message in the picture and urging others to do the same.

“I want you to push back,” Beck told his listeners, going on to promote a Blaze article that dispels the myth that Christians aren’t acting to help the downtrodden. “Do everything you can to send this [article] to as many people as you can.”

While it’s not immediately clear where the image originated, the aforementioned quote makes a plethora of assumptions — the first of which is that Bible-believing Christians are not overtly involved in feeding the poor and helping those in need. But reality paints a very different picture.

Just days before the Chick-fil-A controversy hit a fever-pitch, Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Love” brought tens of thousands of Americans — many of them Christians — to Dallas, Texas, to worship, serve and restore. Through the “Day of Service,” these individuals rebuilt homes, renovated churches, fed the poor and engaged in other activities that “Jesus actually said to do.”

The popular radio and television host continued, highlighting TheBlaze’s coverage of “Restoring Love,” while mentioning the importance of spreading the message that Christians have, indeed, been active.

“Do everything you can to send this to as many people as you can, because they say we don’t do anything,” he said. “Well, they’re wrong. And this is the time when you can grab their attention. This is the time where you can prove them wrong.”

    So the way to defy this is to slam the food collection banks with huge Chick-fil-A sized crowds.
    Oh wait, that already happens and no one gets credit for it.
    The lefties won‘t be able to tell who is giving the food or money cause we don’t wear uniforms like burkas.
    Granted there are ways to identify yourself publicly as a Christian, but many don’t.
    But God cares and knows what is in our hearts.
    This is like the studies that say Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.
    Even though many did not attend a church almost all of my brothers and sisters and their children and grandchildren would, as push comes to shove, identify themselves as a Christian. This group would number close to a hundred people (counting spouses) some of whom are no longer living.
    None the less, they are probably not counted in these numbers they offer us.
    But if we feed a lot of people, the one who matters most will know.

      You didn’t think this all the way to the end. Obooma is the rightful owner of the food bank problem along with unemployment and the over burdening of government entitlement programs.
      I know you said a lot of things in jest, but given that unidentified Islamism are separated into many groups like Christianity. The silent Islam group do themselves no favor by keeping silent. The radical Islam group are diminishing themselves every day by killing themselves and even the moderate people of Islam. A bomb has only one restriction, if your close enough it will kill or maim you. The main difference is “We are told to live for him” in the Christian churches, not to kill yourself along with as many innocent American and Jewish men women and children. The one last thing the Islamist are all inclusive when comes to hate of others. They hate anybody that is not Muslim. As a Christian I am told to love everybody, Jewish, Catholic, Buddhist, Unitarianism, Zen, Hinduism, Sikhism, Shinto, Hellenistic, Christian Scientist even atheist.       Calling oneself a Christian, does not make it so. We are commanded to examine ourselves, to be sure we are in the TRUE faith. Many will be called, few chosen. As Rev. Ch 3 points out, there will be many who THINK they are, but will be rejected by the Lord.
      As fas as Chik Fil A protestors, they have august company in Barry, and V P Biden. Barry won’t even help out his own BROTHER in Kenya, and Biden gives what: 5$ a year to charities. Typical of the anti crowd, one would think[except for their PET charities like homosexual rights etc] Only od gave Marraige rights 1 man, 1 woman.

    Did Jesus say ‘And to feed the poor you need a license and FDA inspections with proper food handling, packaging, storage, according to the Poor People‘s Feeding Standards Regulations’ ? God help anyone who feeds someone and the puke up their Ripple. And here’s another thought, how many Christians help people in need without the TV CAMERAS like those which follow the Obummers around constantly? What you don’t see just may be happening in spite of your ignorance.

      Again…they are judging…and in the wrong to do so. Privately giving in any way is biblically supported more than the Hollywood “in your face” style of flaunting their support for so many causes (many of which are not for the poor, but animals or environment). It is one thing to disagree, debate and agree to disagree. At least free speech and freedom of religion are still respected in the process. Today, you cannot even be an Olympic Gold Medalist that has endured personal pain, thank Jesus for your talents and the ability to overcome without libs bashing you. That is the process we are sick of…religious and free speech intolerant lefties love it though.
      James O’Keefe said something today on one of my local fave radio shows that I think should apply here – “do not let them frame the target or lead us to react…much like we should not be reacting to the government, the government should be reacting to us”. He went on to mention Holder being grilled over his ballot being handed over to Project Veritas. Great example of what we can and should be doing politically and as Christians.

      I did try to verify your post, as I said, but was unable to. That’s why I asked you for help.

      I did find this:

      The article is titled: “Survey: U.S. Takes Top Spot As Most Charitable Nation” on the NPR page. It was “Published: December 20, 2011 by Eyder Peralta”

      I didn’t see any predominately Muslim countries listed.

    Actually there are huge waiting lists at our local homeless
    Shelters and food banks for the volunteers! You have to sign up way in advance in order to help!! There are other ways Christians Help too such as medical and dental services, or rescuing girls in the sex trafficking trade.

    Countless groups have angel trees at Christmas. I think the military group used to do Toys for Tots until someone slammed them for helping Christians. Ministerial Alliance groups help coordinate food delivered to the homeless in the park–many cities. Most churches have a food pantry or a food drive. Our church has a group that distributes groceries, donates money to pay utility bills and similar family expenses, and holds English classes to facilitate employment for new arrivals to the country. I know my daughter’s church just did a project to provide fans and food for their community. I know of other groups who work together to provide wells and provide purification for water in various countries across the world. These people all work through churches. I forgot about the missions that are set up to provide food, clothing, and school supplies in this country and other countries.

      Before my Wife and I adopted a child we used to buy 400$ worth of toys to take to the Salvation Army at Christmastime. I used to get the biggest kick out of trying to figure out what 5 year old black or white children would want from Santa. And I think I did “Just Fine”

Michelle and Barrak sharing 58 addresses with loans being taken out under different social security numbers and not paid. Found by a skiptracer Jim Sanke, I believe it is. This was before the Presidency fraud. Barrak paid about 27,000 dollars for a 1.3 million dollar house from this lawyer frined of his. This man does not belong in our White House and should be arrested Now. All the rest are diversions he has created with fringe groups to keep Americans busy yammering at each other. The attention should be on Obama and his eligibility. The concentration should be used to figure how and who can then demand his arrest him. A man not a real President does not need to be impeached so his policies stand. Arrest will guarantee that his appointments and policy will go down the toilet. Get Congress moving on this freak.

    Wow, Ecinom, you are amazing. I’ve heard others say this and I agree. You only come onto the Blaze and comment to rile people up. I feel sorry for you. Unless you change before you die, as the Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” At that point, you and me and everyone else is going to give an answer for the things we have done and the things we have said. That is why I am trying to say this to you with a love for your soul. The things you say to us on the Blaze, you will not say to Jesus on the Day of Judgement.     Lets examine that for a minute. The poor and the homeless carry their tent with them – they carry their bed from place to place. In essence feeding them tries to force them to put their bed down. The homeless have given up the pursuit of the things you relish in these troubled times. So how is it you are feeding them?

      COPATRIOT . . . I tithe 10% to my church because I know it will ultimately benefit me, too. And I won‘t have to worry about my money going for anything I don’t support, for example, people who aren’t exactly like me. And that;s all the info you’ll get. I’ve given you people all you need to know about how I live my life.

      (You see, I model all my giving after Mitt, and all my whining about giving after Ann. The Romneys are terrific role models.)

      I personally don’t like to discuss personal tithing or charitable work. I will say though that I have been blessed having adorable, strong, phenomenal children in my life I wouldn’t have known otherwise.

      @HOARSEDANCER…I agree there are people fleecing the flock and I despise them as Jesus despided them. I think their tables should be overturned and they should be whipped out of the temple. However there are many many many more Christ-based organizations that do follow Biblical principals. Giving 10% of your money because you are going to get something back out of it is NOT a biblical principal. I would agree that people must be wise in their tithes and giving.     These are liars from hell. Franklin Graham and even that guy on 700 club and a lot of Christian organizations like the Salvation Army, etc. are doing the feeding and helping of the poor. They must be wanting something, anything to lie about. What have they done individually or as a group besides steal taxpayers’ money to make them look like they are doing something. They open these top heavy agencies and pay the top load about 100 thousand and hire on down to about minimum wage and put them on part time and travel and use every facet of government money they can get grants for to make out like they are doing something when they are spending and wasting money. These non-profits that the feds are contributing to do nothing but make a mockery out of the taxpayer. These are set up and handled by almost all democrats and people who are just short of being illiterate so they cannot write, verbalize or even figure out what is going on. They was thousands upon thousands of dollars to cover up stealing from these organizations that are so layered they can almost explain away missing funds and shuffle it around. They do nothing that could help one person properly except once in awhile so they will look successful. There is no way there is bang for the bucks they are mishandling.

      My father’s church works with Feed the Children network. They gave away a half a million dollars in food to the needy last year alone. They bring semis to Ohio to take what we have collected as well to Kentucky. Its usually health care and hygiene products, money, disaster related supplies (water, blankets) as well as clothes, appliances and much more.

      Liberal news networks cannot cover things like that. It’s not part of their agenda.

      Dear Mr. Bitter,
      I am sorry you had such an awful upbringing that you just feel the need to lash out at everyone who seems the least bit conservative to you. Maybe, just maybe, try being nice, or smiling at complete strangers, and you will get the feeling back, ten-fold. Giving is what it is all about. Jesus, in a roundabout way, said to give, and it will return to you ten-fold, but I am guessing you don’t believe in Jesus, either. No matter, human nature says to give and help your fellow man (golden rule).
      Our church has a town-wide community dinner, every week during the winter, and every last Thursday during the summer. We helped a Methodist ministry in Africa buy a new jet to take people to hospitals and carry supplies around. My family has been community leaders and helpers for close to a 100 years. Do something for yourself and give OF yourself. You will become a lot less bitter.

      It’s cute when someone calls a gathering of believers “staged”, when in contrast any gathering of liberals in protest is “staged”.

      Christians came out in the millions to support Chik-fil-A all day long and into the night on August 1, and the opposition was hoping for 150 to show up at one location in NYC at 5pm Friday. The media was so disappointed, as all they got to report was the vile hatred the homos showed in LA with their graffiti.

      The only people the left are fooling anymore are themselves, or do they not see MSNBC, NBC and CNN losing market share in every new report? No one is listening to the constant lies and hate anymore.

      Have you been to a street feed? I use to go to them ever Friday for two years. Everyone of the tables set out to serve food were christian from all different churches. The homeless who had instruments played gospel music. They love it and come together in praise and thankfulness. If you were ever at a street feed you would know this, just like the idiot that posted that picture.
