Beck: ‘Wake Up’ & Join Catholics in Fight Against Contraceptive Mandate

This morning, Glenn Beck tackled some of the biggest religious issues of the day. Among them, he covered a monumental debate that’s heating up between the Catholic Church and the Obama administration. The division, as you likely know, is over an impending federal mandate that religious groups cover abortion-inducing drugs and birth control free-of-charge.
“What the Obama admin is asking Catholics to do is to violate what they believe is morally right,” Beck said. “I urge you that, if you are a Catholic, to read this…search this story out, read it and then get involved.”

But Beck’s call for engagement went beyond simply calling Catholics to take a stand. He also encouraged people of all faiths to recognize the issue’s importance, urging them to come together to “assist the Catholics in everything they are doing right now.”
“Nobody’s asking anybody to change their theology or to have doctrinal debates,” Beck continued. “This is about our liberty and our religious liberty to be specific.”
Catholic League president Bill Donohue joined Beck on-air to discuss his take on the matter. Of particular note, Donohue mentioned the rare collaboration he’s seeing between Catholics of all stripes on this issue of the contraceptive mandate.
“I’ve been doing this job in the Catholic League for about two decades and never have I seen greater resolve on the part of Catholics,” he said. “Even liberals who don’t normally get along with conservatives are coming together on this.”
Donohue also had some tough words for the president and his administration.
“I have never seen an administration as aggressive to stamp out religious liberty as the Obama administration,” he said. ”Obama has created a nightmare and why he’s doing it in an election year, I have not a clue.”
Watch this portion of the discussion, below:
“It is a full assault from every direction. We have got to wake up,” Beck proclaimed.”
Watch the second portion of the discussion, below, to hear Donohue and Beck further describe what can be done to offer support to Catholics:
Also, be sure to tune in to GBTV tonight at 5:00 p.m. ET to see Beck confront these issues head-on.

The legislature tried to force them to provide contraception but Romney fought to stop it, sadly he was unable to do so with the 85% liberal legislature. Romney has done great things for the Social Issues and people need to know that ( http://url2it.com/lmbp ). He has worked for the conservative social issues more than any other candidate out there. Starting with fighting Gay Marriage in Mass, the first state to allow it and he started the fight in 2003 and fought for 3 years even going to Washington to speak in front of senate committees (Hatch, Kennedy, Leahy, etc) Then in his own state he teamed up with James Dobson, and other evangelicals to fight the legislature. Even suing them with his own money to make them allot his ballot initiative to be placed on the ballot for the people to vote on. A constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

But we have to stop fighting from battle to battle. We can’t win being defensive, that’s tactical. We have to have vision. Not reaction. We have to be strategic. Without vision, we can’t get out of the parking lot.
If ‘conservatism’ can’t articulate its benefits over communism then it deserves to perish. Its that simple. I don’t like it, but it really “IS” that simple.

Posted on January 30, 2012 at 4:39pmOn Sept, 22, 2011 at the GOP Orlando Debate, Ron Paul says when asked “ You have said that you believe that life begins at conception and that abortion ends an innocent life. If you believe that, how can you support a rape exception to abortion bans, and how can you support the morning-after pill? Aren’t those lives just as innocent?”
A: “They may be.”
Maybe just as innocent? Tell me Mr. Paul were they tried in a court of law, were they read their Miranda rights? Were they charged with any crime? And yet they were summarily executed.
He continues. “but the way this is taken care of in our country, it is not a national issue. This is a state issue.”
Please explain how saying “it is the State’s right to choose” is different from Pelosi’s “it is a woman’s right to choose”? That is simply using the Constitution as a front vs. woman’s rights as a front.
He says he believes that life begins at conception and then in nearly the same breath turns around and says that it is within the rights of states to decide to extinguish a life without trial and without charge? Wrong, wrong, wrong!
And he said it again in his own book I’ll trust you to look that one up yourself : Liberty Defined, by Rep. Ron Paul, p. 2&6-7 , Apr 19, 2011

Posted on January 30, 2012 at 9:22pm@Axel 4:39PM As you know, Ron Paul is a DOCTOR. Not just any doctor but a OBG/GYN. He understands everything one needs to know about conception and life. When he said, “They may be,” he meant that there may be a fertilized egg or there may not be. He understands that a rape victim may want the morning after pill just in case she got pregnant, not because she knows she is pregnant.
Report Post »You need to investigate Dr Paul’s actual position on this issue rather than a debate soundbite, especially since you know Dr Paul is never given time to explain anything.
Some facts: it’s been approximated that 5% of all rape victims become pregnant – far too many rapes and rape-related pregnancies sadly – and that the majority occurred among adolescents and resulted from assault by a known, often related perpetrator; meaning it would be multiple rapes that eventuated in a pregnancy.
All Dr Paul was saying is that there is no way to know if conception occured during a rape and if a traumatized woman wants a pill that will probably have no affect because there is no pregnancy, why not give her that little bit of piece of mind? I would rather a woman take a pill given right then and there than have a women decide to have an abortion 6 to 8 weeks down the line.
I‘m NOT saying Catholic hospitals have to provide this option and I don’t want them to, I‘m just saying that you can’t force all women to follow Catholic doctrine. America is not a theocracy and the 1st Amendment guarantees it never

Posted on January 30, 2012 at 10:13pm@axel, you are wrong. Murder is a state issue. It is not ruled on by the federal government. If Roe vs Wade is overturned, which Ron Paul is for, its forces the states to decide if its murder. Ron Paul believes its murder, but as I said earlier, states handle their own murder cases. So sorry bud, you are wrong.
Report Post »AxelPhantom
Posted on January 30, 2012 at 11:55pmMutiny,
I am not saying it is not a state issue. The states are prohibited from doing it by the fact it is an Inalienable right, specificially enumerated in the Declaration of Independence, which if you look at a law book is LAW #1. “We are endowed by our Creator…” I know Obama likes to leave the “Creator” part out, but it is in there. Therefore, you cannot take from someone [their life] unless yours is in direct threat by them, without due process of law, it does not matter if the state does it or the federal government does it. The states are prohibited from doing it by the fact it is an Inalienable right.
Report Post »If as Dr. Paul believes, life begins at conception, then once the egg and the sprm have united, that child is in possession of a life, it is not yours to take away.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 12:07amKTSAYZ
I have done one thing Ron Paul has never done, felt life inside me.
So that maybe you will understand why I will fight RP to the death on this.
Late in 1987 I was 19 and was raped. In 1988 my longtime boyfriend and I got married. In 1988 we gave birth to a daughter. He has raised that baby as his own and loves her as much as he loves me (and yes he knew it wasn’t his before he married me). If he wouldn’t have proposed, the baby would have been born just the same because I have been a librtarian (not a republican libertarian) my whole life.
It took me a long time to look into my child’s eyes and not see that day in 1987. I held her close and knew that to do right by her as her mother I had to find a way to forgive the man who forcibly brought her into my arms. Many tears, nights where I jumped while on the edge of sleep at my husband’s touch, days where I just couldn’t see life beyond the next few hours. It was so hard.
“Choice” is a fallacy created by the left to assuage the reality of what you are doing when you have an abortion. You are taking by force, that which is not yours to take(someone else’s life); no different what that rapist did to me and two wrongs do not make a right.
If the government is to value the rights of one life, it must value the life of all or it will surely value the life of none. Paul is wrong, abortion has no place in our society whether in the states or in the federal government.
Report Post »AxelPhantom
Posted on January 31, 2012 at 12:30amOne last thing
Perhaps the difference is your definition of conception.
Conception is the fertilization of the egg by the sperm, not implantation of the embryo in the lining of the uterus like you were probably taught in high school (gotta watch those progressives!).
When the embryo is implanted, that is pregnancy, conception has already occured days before. Medically that is the terminology. (I know, been through a bit of med schooling myself).
So the term “pregnancy” is not the same as “conception” and yes, Dr Paul is well aware of this.
It is why the Catholic church is against any artificial means which would prevent pregnancy after conception such as degrading the lining of the uterus (the pill and morning after pill), because at that point, it is no longer separate cells it is a united life and by destroying the body’s natural process with chemicals you are ending the process of life.
So when Dr. Paul says he believes life begins at conception, he is not saying it begins when it is embedded in the uterus. He is saying it begins when the sperm and egg unite, making the morning after pill and most all forms of oral steroids (the pill) likewise the ending of a life.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 10:48amLife is not a states’ right issue. It is a federal issue. The Declaration of Independence lists “Life” as one of the unalienable rights the Creator bestowed upon us. The definition of LIFE has to be the same for all states.
I think the important thing to concentrate on is all denominations who believe that life begins at inception unite on this one issue. We undoubtedly disagree on dogma and doctrine but we do agree on life.

You wind up with a nation like ours, one that “comes up out of the EARTH (wilderness region), and appears as a Lamb, but speaks like a dragon.” And thats a dangerous thing. Bless you.

There are in any given archdiocese at least 1 or 2 more conservative parishes to go to. You may have to drive half an hour. This is what you look for.
1) Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
2) Confession available for a Priest before or after each Mass
3) Saying the Rosary befor or after Mass
4) Saint Ignatious Retreats
5) Alter Boys, and the fruits being 1 or 2 priestly vocations each year.
6) Fasting
7) the Saying of the Saint Michael Prayer at the end of Mass
8) Religious communities such as Nuns that wear the full habitS
Some Perspective is Father John Hardon, a future Saint in the Roman Catholic Church, said that their would be a need for Maryters for Christ in the persecutions coming soon.

That is leaving Peter because of Judas.
You don’t judge a medicine by the people who don’t take it.
Jesus set up His Church (Matthew 16:18) and said the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
for nearly 2,000 years the Catholic Church has been here as Jesus intended. Are there sinners in the church? Yes. Every last one of us.
Leave the fullness of the faith for what?
Leave the sacrements for what?
Or will you be one more of the many who do not receive their Church‘s teaching on their church’s authority; they accept their church’s authority because they agree with their preferred teaching.

Since the passing of this law FROM THE BENCH, over 50 million little, defenseless babies had their heads crushed and their brains sucked out just because women could not keep their legs crossed, because some found that having a baby was inconvenient or because Planned Parenthood talked people into abortion in order to increase their profits. This shouldn’t happen in a land where free exercise of religion ranks first in the Bill of Rights.”
The HHS has issued a rule forcing nearly all private health plans to include coverage for all FDA-approved prescription contraceptive drugs and devices, as well as surgical sterilization. These are listed among “preventive services for women” that all health plans will have to cover without co-pays or other cost-sharing — regardless of whether the insurer, the employer or other plan sponsor, or even the woman herself objects to such coverage.

Where was the Bill Donohue’s outrage when priests were having their way with alterboys and the Bishops were covering it up? His outrage was directed at the victims and the reporters for covering the story.
“Catastrophe was only narrowly averted in 2009 when a 27-year-old, 11-weeks-pregnant patient in Arizona staggered into the emergency room of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix with such severe pulmonary hypertension that her doctors determined she would die without an immediate abortion. The ethics committee voted to break hospital policy and advise the woman of her option of a lifesaving abortion. The woman chose to have doctors terminate the pregnancy.
But when the bishop overseeing the Phoenix diocese heard about this, he declared that St. Joseph’s could no longer be a Catholic institution unless it agreed to follow Catholic “moral teachings.” The Bishop forbade Catholic Mass in the hospital’s chapel and excommunicated Sister Margaret McBride — the only nun on the ethics committee.” Read more: http://www.care2.com/causes/treatment-denied.html#ixzz1kyB7QsyD

1. n. To utter a posting designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or, the post itself. Derives from the phrase “trolling for newbies” which in turn comes from mainstream “trolling”, a style of fishing in which one trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The well-constructed troll is a post that induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves look even more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying to the more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberate troll. If you don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it.
2. n. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand – they simply want to utter flame bait.
