And for more background on the 12th Imam, Insider Extreme members can check out “Rumors of War,” Mercury’s latest documentary.
Synopsis via GlennBeck.com:
The documentary explores the dangers that a nuclear Iran presents to the free world, as well as provides insight into the extremist regime that world leaders will be dealing with as they prepare to begin nuclear talks. The special also examines the Iranian government’s beliefs and history.
For over a year, the filmmakers have been researching and shooting this documentary. They have performed extensive interviews with former high ranking government and military officials who have been a part of top secret strategy sessions regarding the growing threat of a nuclear Iran.
Rumors of War examines the current leadership of Iran, Ahmadenjiad, Khameini, who are part of a radical Muslim sect that believe it is their duty to hasten the return of the 12th Imam, a Jesus-like figure who will wipe the planet clean of Iran’s enemies, of which Israel and the United States rank 1 and 1a. They believe, and have stated publically that by initiating worldwide chaos they can bring about his return.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 8:20pmI’m glad Beck is at least addressing this subject.
But I wish he didn’t have this guy on as his “source.” Joel Richardson is very biased in his understanding of this issue. The idea that islam is demonic wasn’t his idea at all. “The Satanic Verses” by Salmon Rushdie (a work of fiction) postulated that it wasn’t the Archangel Gabriel who revealed himseld to Mohammed but the devil.
Exposing and explaining the insanity of messianic radical Islam shouldn’t be done by a Christian fundy who also holds equally radical and messianic “end time” beliefs. There is a conflict of interest.
Richardson uses Islams insane ideas to shadow and justify his insane Christian idea of the death of humanity. This is not a good way to go about addressing reactionary Islam’s threat. Fighting superstition with superstition is foolish.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 8:44pmYes. What drives me crazy about Beck whenever he talks about the Bible is he has no perspective on the breadth of interpretation. He presents ONE interpretation of Revelation as if that one interpretation is what the book means. He seems unaware of the distinction between dispensationalists and amillenialists, premillenialists and postmillenialists. Some read the book as heavily symbolical while others read it more literally trying to discern a strict Chronology. There is no set authoritative interpretation so it is pointless trying to say what Christian endtimes ideas are beyond very brief sketches.
Report Post »HairRazor

“Holy War” should belong to the dark ages. I‘m not saying we shouldn’t confront the Islamists who are waging holy war; I’m saying Our side, the West, shouldn’t manufacture and rationalise a Christianized version of the same tactic to fight Islamism. Again, fighting superstition with superstition is foolish.
Whatever happened to “love thy enemy” and “turn the other cheek”? Oh, that’s right, I forgot about all that “Sword of Jesus” jazz.

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 1:21amYour right, the topic today was about Islamic lore. Just like the unapproved stories of the bible. However, It was said four times during the show (or more) that what is important is that some of Islam believe in the lore and that is dangerous. They cause anarchy and bloodshed in real life to hasten the coming of the Madi (sp?). So to me this far worse than the mythical boogie man. It takes years to understand the stories of our religions and what we accept as truth and what we count as lore. I have been studying three major religions (on my own) since 2003 and I still am amazed as I learn how to understand these writings and reconcile them with my own acceptance of, and service to, the Lord and to Jesus.

Neither guest seems will studied in either the Christian faith or the Muslim religion. It you don’t believe 100 percent in your Holy book, why would you belong to that religion? Why would Christians believe that God is going to allow Satan the anti-Christ to come to earth and kill all Christians? Besides wouldn‘t that defeat Satan’s propose for trying to get Christians to worship him? Satan will come and try to deceive Christians to believe he is Christ. So are we to believe Christ will come and kill Christians, that is stupid and goes to show Joel R. does not know what he is talking about and that is dangerous to Christians who are not well studied.

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 1:42pmLogic, We all need to think logically on this; Lets ignore our emotions for a moment and ask ourselves this:
There are thousands of religions on this earth. Logic tells us there is only one God, a Creator of all things. it has to be that way, for it is logical. Everything had to be designed and created.
Since there is only one True God, there can be only one true religion. All the others necessarily have to fall into the false religion category. We need to logically find that true religion., and learn it, live it, and help others to find it.
Where should we start? Genesis 1:1

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 10:50pmWell, whether you believe Glenn’s show or not, be SURE to remember that in the religion of Islam they also have Jesus (his Arabic name is Isa). However, the Islamic Jesus is not the Son of GOD, he is only a prophet, the story that he was the Son of GOD was all a big mistake. He will not have the nail spike marks on his arms or hands, because he supposedly did NOT die on the cross, Muhammad supposedly spirited him away to heaven before he died and put someone else in his place on the cross.
Report Post »If you read Revelation 13: 11-17, it appears that the Islamic Jesus is the false prophet that we will see first…(only Jesus was called the lamb of GOD, but the false profit has 2 horns like a LAMB, but spoke like a dragon).

I respect the disagreement we may hold on the understanding of the scriptures, yet I hold that while salvation is found in Christ, and by the blood he has shed, look back into the scriptures of Ezekiel 33 and see where God himself talks of the judgment of the individuals, a father, son and grandson, and how Revelation 20 speaks of two ressurections, first of the saints, and the second of the wicked at the end of the 1000 years. Also please note where it says in Ch 20 as well “Blessed is he who partakes of the first resurecction for upon them the second death will have no hold.”
Daniel 12 speaks of the Ancient of Days rising up and judging the dead as well.
So if even in the end we can agree to respectfully disagree, then all is well.
Also, I am a christian chaplain with the Adventists, and have a masters of divinity and christian counseling as well, plus 16 years of field experience too. And many laybrethren can put many preachers to shame in the lives lived as Christ would have us do.

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 12:11amYou are in a cult, SNOWLEOPARD. You obviously don’t think that Jesus has paid your price for sin in full and somehow you have to do something more for salvation. A slap in Jesus’ face to say the least. You are right, though, you won’t be in the rapture. But there will be one for those that drop their foolish pride and concede that the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, and that ALONE (not human attempts of riteousness that fall far short of God’s requirements for atonement). Don’t be a fool. Bow down to Jesus Christ and ask for the free gift available to all who ask, or be left behind to face God’s wrath. I speak 100% truth to you.
jblaze
Posted on February 18, 2011 at 9:03amThe word rapture is not found anywhere in the Bible, yet God does reveal that there is a way to escape the Great Tribulation that’s coming soon. Jesus said: “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass …” (Luke 21:36). Notice that we must be “accounted worthy” to escape.
Jesus repeated this same promise to His true Church today in Revelation 3:10. Again, it is conditional: “Because you have kept my word of patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial [the Great Tribulation] which is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell upon the earth” (Revised Standard Version).
The surrounding verses of the scriptures quoted above shed even more light on exactly who will be “accounted worthy” to escape the horrors of the Great Tribulation. It is those who are not encumbered by the cares of this life and diligently paying attention to their spiritual condition (Luke 21:34-35)—praying continually—carefully obeying God’s Word and supporting His work—patiently enduring the trials, steadfast in all these things to the very end (Revelation 3:7-9). These are the ones who will escape the terrifying troubles about to be unleashed in the world.
But how and where will true Christians be protected? It’s not by way of a secret rapture to heaven!
The proof is found in chapter 12 of Revelation. To understand it, you need to realize that a “woman” is sometimes used as a symbol for a church (see 2 Corinthians 11:1-2 and Ephesians 5:23-32). In Revelation 12, the woman referred to is a symbol for God’s Church.
Notice how the true Church is protected from the coming Tribulation: “And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time [one year], and times [two years], and half a time [half a year—a total of 3½ years], from the face of the serpent [Satan]” (Revelation 12:14). So the Church is not taken to heaven but to a specific place in “the wilderness” here on Earth! “And the earth helped the woman …” (verse 16).
Scripture indicates that Christ’s true followers will be gathered in Judea just prior to the onset of the Great Tribulation (Amos 7:12; Matthew 24:16). Jesus plainly tells them that when the time comes, they will have to flee: “[P]ray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matthew 24:20-21). Obviously, if there were to be a “secret rapture,” Christ’s followers would not have to be concerned about fleeing in winter or on the Sabbath!
Jesus never advocated the “rapturing” of His followers out of the world to protect them (see John 17:15). God’s true Church will be on Earth during the Great Tribulation—protected in a place of safety—not up in heaven as proponents of the rapture theory believe. Christ always promises His people protection here on Earth, never up in heaven.

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 11:50amJBLAZE,
I appreciate your comments, they reflect a sincere seeker of knowledge.
I have experienced here, on the Blaze a lack of appreciation for the work some of us do in composing a scriptural comment. We try to give scripture verse to help others learn, but when I get too wordy, too many verses, I fear readers get overwhelmed with the amount of information that they have to digest. So, I try to keep my comments as short as possible. It is hard though, isn’t it, to keep it short.
You did say this; “Scripture indicates that Christ’s true followers will be gathered in Judea just prior to the onset of the Great Tribulation (Amos 7:12; Matthew 24:16).”

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 12:36amThe part Beck left out is that the Christians (those who are coo coo for Jesus) will be snatched (forcefully removed instantaneously) before the Antichrist can be revealed to the rest of the world. They will be in the deepest trouble to come upon the Earth, ever. God’s wrath will begin to pour out on the Earth. One calamity after another. Well, just like Beck is telling it on his show. Beck and anyone can avoid this by simply denouncing any evil in their lives, crying out to God the Father for forgiveness through the blood shed on the cross by the Lamb of God, Jesus his only begotten son. There is no other way to escape hell other than refusing the Mark of the Beast and being beheaded for refusing the mark. It’s not likely you will be able to muster the courage, although quite a few will become “believers” after all the Jesus freaks disappear just like we’ve been harping we will. The way things are escalating, there isn’t much time before the Antichrist rises to power, so don’t be stupid and get left behind. Give your heart to Jesus Christ tonight. He knows you aren’t worthy. That’s the reason He had to die for you, so don’t sweat being accepted as one of His. BUT YOU MUST ASK HIM. That’s the catch. You have to ask and mean it. Now, do it!

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 8:13pmNo, Obama is not the 12th Imam, the Imam is just a myth, as among the christianity groups the story of the Rapture and the seven years of tribulation associated with it. There are myths that will not hold up to the honest, intensive study of a student of the bible and honest seeking of the truth from what is myth, and what is only a part of the story tied into a fable.
I have studied these legends for much of my chaplaincy among the adventists; and the 12th Imam is just a myth, unfortunatly the nutcases like that one in Iran is a true believer in the stories. This makes him just as dangerous as any other fanatic in power who he feels has the divine destiny and divine calling to fulfill the role.
We all must stand in the truth of our faith, and solidly on the foundation of Christ and of God; in the truth of the bible, and not of myth or half truths or half understandings.
Search the scriptures, to show yourself approved unto God. That is what we are called upon to do, and so we should do.
Peace and grace of God be with you all tonight.

Obama is not the 12th Imam, nor is he the anti-christ; he is the one most likely who will be able to initiate the final times found throughout the bible. The story of the 12th Imam is the devils own tales used to confuse end time prophecy and lure people away from the salvation to be found within the shed blood of Christ, and the desired expectation God has before all of us.
Study the stories out themselves for your own conclusions; and understand that an honest study of the bible will not set you wrong. Read and study with an open mind and heart, and do not let the old devil distract and confuse you from the plans of the Almighty.

Posted on February 17, 2011 at 9:59pmSnowleopard {gallery of cat folks}, are you serious as to your assertion of the rapture being a myth? If so please tell me more, your study could not have been of the scripture but of some commentary written by men. It is quite clear that the book of revelation (mention for those of Israel and the 12 tribes) along with the apostle Paul (the church the body of Christ) mentioned the rapture. And if you’d like I can provide it in Greek for you, and your study has not brought you any closer to the truth.
This fable of the 12th is a copy of Gods plan for the world, this has been a struggle on satans part to over come Gods will. And one who knows God he will lose. Yet you chose to bring this as a fable, do you really expect God to subject his elect to the torment of torture of those who are evil? If you do again you’ve failed.

Challenge to Obama getting 2nd conference before court

In a stunning move, the U.S. Supreme Court has scheduled another “conference” on a legal challenge to Barack Obama’s eligibility to occupy the Oval Office, but officials there are not answering questions about whether two justices given their jobs by Obama will participate.
The court has confirmed that it has distributed a petition for rehearing in the case brought by attorney John Hemenway on behalf of retired Col. Gregory Hollister and it will be the subject of a conference on March 4.
It was in January that the court denied, without comment, a request for a hearing on the arguments. But the attorney at the time had submitted a motion for Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, who were given their jobs by Obama, to recuse.
Should Obama ultimately be shown to have been ineligible for the office, his actions, including his appointments, at least would be open to challenge and question.
At the time, the Supreme Court acknowledged the “motion for recusal” but it changed it on official docketing pages to a “request.” And it reportedly failed to respond to the motion.”

My guess is that this website, along with a few family members and a few friends and neighbors believe that you are actually a man/woman of the cloth. But I imagine it’s an offense to God to present yourself otherwise.
Being a learned person, I’m sure you realize that with your proclamations that “this is the end of the world” is a repetition of the same thing unbalanced religious people and frauds have been saying for the last 2000 years. When that‘s a person’s take on current events, without nuance, you put yourself squarely in that same group.
I‘m sure you’re a nice person, but I‘m sure in ten years you’ll be saying the same thing, “the end is near.” But if you retain long term memory, and live a long life, you’ll realize that the “end of the world” is no closer at the end of your life than it is now, or was 2000 years ago.

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 12:19amThe popular teaching of the rapture is not an accurate understanding of the nature or type of resurrection of the faithful servants of the true God that they experience during Christ’s presence in the final days. The rapture is a twisting of what 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 actually says.
Report Post »When Jesus was installed as King of God’s Kingdom. Jesus then instantaneously resurrected those individuals who died during these last days. They will not be raised up to heaven in a fleshly body, but they will actually die, and then, in an instant, be taken up to be with Jesus in his Kingdom in the heavens to rule with him as kings and priests to our God. 1Corintheans 15:35, 40, 42,44
Please understand these points are very incomplete, as there is so much more to this subject. I post this comment to stimulate questions that hopefully will prompt a thorough and serious study of God’s Word, the Bible.

I would suggest to you, JVS, that you not just “PFFFTTTHHH” (As Bill the Cat would do) away the speculation of others that this is so, but instead do some serious studying on the subject. Yet in your first post you claim the rapture and the 7 year tribulation is a myth?
Like you I have studied theology. I have a Th. M. and am currently working on an M. Div. I understand all the eschatological views and reasoning behind them. I also respect all these divergent views because I do understand that Scripture is not rigid in this area. You can interpret Scripture any number of ways and find support for your belief…as you will also find problems with any view. I think the biggest problem most people have is letting their theology drive the Scripture instead of letting the Scripture dictate their theology.
That all said, by far the most common eschatological view in the last and this century has been premillinnial, pretribulation rapture dispensationalism. The Tribulation is equivalent to Daniel’s seventieth seven. The church age will end before this can begin.
I understand that majority does not make right. That is not even my point. But taking your own advice, which I quoted above, and reading Scripture with an open mind, in order, and in context leads right to the view I described above. Revelation is tied in to OT Scripture and is as clear as can be, with not stretching Scripture to make it fit into your own theology. This view has the fewest problems and best fits a literal interpretation of the Bible. Is it fact? No. I will not make that stand. It is where the Holy Spirit has led me…But He has led you to a different place. One of us is wrong…In fact, I can assure you that BOTH of us are wrong in many places in our theologies. But God intentionally gave us His Word this way so that we have a lifetime of material to think about and study. In the end this is a moot argument. It does not matter. What will be…will be. The only thing that matters is that we both know Him. I look forward to meeting you in person one day…

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 11:28amProphecy Clock: Eschatology of Islam and Christianity
The Lord says in Isaiah 55:8,9, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Jesus said in Matthew 28:18, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” If we believe the word of God, then we must understand that all power rests in the hands of Christ, and that the Lord’s ways, thoughts, and methods are so far above ours that we cannot understand them completely. World events, therefore, as we usher in the end times and see prophecies maturing to fulfillment, will not be as man wishes them to be, nor will they be as they appear.
The Western world looks at the Middle East and wants to believe that the protests to topple the governments in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain and others are freedom driven. They may just be in the minds of those who are protesting, but the freedom they are desiring is not the same as Western freedom as upheld in a Constitutional Republic or a representative democracy. It is the freedom of Islam, the peace of Islam. This freedom is the freedom of the made up and revamped moon god, allah, as defined by a deranged warlord and pedophile Mohammed in the 7th century. This so-called freedom is determined by Sharia law, where women and non-Muslims are subject to the Islamic Caliphate.
Islam’s eschatology is similar to Christianity. Like most things of satan, however, Islam is an imitation leading many into deception. The 12th Imam is expected to return in the end times and bring the peace of Islam to the world for seven years with Jesus Christ as his prophet. On the 32nd anniversary of the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad gave a speech that the unrest in the Middle East is the beginning of the return of the 12th Imam. He said, “The final move has begun. We are in the middle of a world revolution managed by this dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding. One can witness the hand of the Imam in managing it.” He believes that America is trying to prevent this.
Ahmadinejad has a very different view of the Egyptian uprising because he believes it will usher in the seven year reign of the 12th Imam, even with Christ as his prophet. This certainly parallels with what Christians believe about the antichrist, the seven year tribulation, and the eventual return of Christ. Those who minimize the prophecies of the end times believe the uprisings are spontaneous revolutions for freedom. Most believe Ahmadinejad to be delusional. These leaders also believe those who see Israel as God’s timepiece of prophecy are ignorant radicals. Notwithstanding what the worldly believe, the prophecy clock has moved forward with Middle East unrest. Discern the scriptures that you are not left with your lamp half full.
Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

I may not believe in what Alex Jones is spreading but I at least respect him for wanting everyone to be prepared – I have lost respect for you Glenn. http://wp.me/pYLB7-DK

Posted on February 19, 2011 at 8:27pmDont think Obama is the 12th Iman, but he is the Sun rising in the west that the Muslim world has been looking for. If I am not mistaken The 12th Iman would not be comparable to the Anti Chist. I think but am not sure, The Islamic ‘Savior” is called the Mahadi,(spelling?). The 12th would be more like a Pope type of figure except in the Islamic fasion. For more info on this subject check out Perry Stone at http://www.voe.org. He has done a lot of research in this field.
