Beck Will Run for ‘Archduke’…Says Stephen Colbert

In the world according to Stephen Colbert, Glenn Beck will eventually get into politics. Not in 2012. And not in a run for president. But rather beyond 2012 he will run for “Archduke of the post-apocalyptic afterscape.”

Colbert mocked Beck on his show last night after covering the suspensions of Fox contributors Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. Fox’s reason for suspending them, that they are “signaling” a presidential run, didn’t satisfy Colbert. But he did say, at least, that Beck has nothing to worry about “because based on his show, he’s looking past 2012 and running for Arch Duke of the post-apocalyptic afterscape”:

Christie and Trump have some serious progressive tendencies. Trump contributed to both Rahm and Blagoyovich. Christie is pro gun control among other things. How about Beck, Limbaugh, Palin, Bachman and DeMint…not necessarily in that order. Or perhaps toss in Trump as Sec. of Commerce just to liven up the discussions with China:).

Actually, it’s easy to disprove everything Glenn Beck says. He’s a greedy pessimist who always sees the potential profit in pandering to his audiences curiosity and fear. Sure, he uses facts, but it’s all about how he misinterprets facts in his delusional view of reality. Don‘t think you’re getting any sort of accurate education of middle-eastern history, politics, or theosophy from this poverty profiteer. What you’re getting is a story parallel to what our neocon government has been forcing on us for 60 years. And his doomsday predictions of scary shariah law are only enticements to keep you tuning in and giving him money. What does he contribute to society? Proof that capitalism is a perfect system from which someone can manipulate many people to make large profits without offering any rational solution or suggestion to our social woes? Yea, that’s about it.

What has Beck been wrong about in the past 3 years?…nothing that I can recall. Having studied Middle Eastern history, his analysis of the region, islam, and the qran are spot on. And your name calling and belittling of people who listen to him add no proof of him being wrong, and only discredit yourself and your argument. I am a recovering liberal, and I know how the iberal mind works…you think you are superior and more intelligent than conservatives and you are filled with hate. As a conservative, I know I am not more intelligent than you…just wiser and more worldly. Let go of the hate.

What about the ideas that I presented despite my wordchoice? Have you ever imagined Beck laughing in his mansion at all the people that take the caliphate bait and buy his food backpack? I comment here not filled with hate but out of frustration that so many Americans would rather rifle through this hyperactive cycle of deflated news that Blaze and Fox perpetuates than take serious consideration in the viewpoints and arguments of the remaining 95% of humans. “As a conservative, I know I am not more intelligent than you…just wiser and more worldly.
