Beck’s Oval Office: A ‘Revolution’ Is Taking Place Based on Individual Liberty

On Wednesday evening’s Oval Office speech, Glenn Beck asked when the mainstream media will realize that “there is a revolution going on in this country.” He noted that the media will often focus in on a mere handful of Occupy protesters demonstrating at Zuccotti Park and dub it the next great revolution — strange, considering it ignored the tens of thousands who gathered for FreePAC and Restoring Love. They also have largely ignored the phenomenon of Ted Cruz, who just secured the Republican nomination for Congress in Texas.

Beck said this revolution can be called anything, even the “Tea Party movement,“ but that he refers to it as ”the Third Great Awakening” and that it Call it has been ringing up victories, large and small across the country.

Beck went on to cite conservative victories in statehouses in Virginia and New Jersey, a Senate race in Massachusetts which claimed Ted Kennedy’s seat, and winning control of the House of Representatives.

A decisive victory for Ted Cruz, the Tea Party candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, against the Republican incumbent, reaffirms this very notion.

Cruz has received glowing accolades from conservatives of all walks, including former House Majority leader Dick Armey, FreedomWorks founder Matt Kibbe, and syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin just to name a few. The constitutional law scholar earned their praise by his willingness not just to challenge the left, but even the GOP establishment.

Beck then turned to the proposed sales tax increases in Georgia that were intended to pay for road work. The state voted down the measure in no uncertain terms. While the media has painted these triumphs as unexpected, Beck said that anyone who is truly paying attention know that these events “are part of a pattern” — the kind that typically leads to a “revolution.”

“Sure, I wish we had a president who  believed in the Constitution,” Beck said, but “we don’t.” He ceded that we may also never have a true Tea Party president, but that regardless, we are effecting change and “making things happen.” Because of the Tea Party, Beck believes that the worst aspects of Washington, the media, and society by and large are being rolled back and that limited government and individual liberty have reclaimed their place at the center stage of American life and politics.

But Beck wanted to make sure that while there is plenty we must “say no” to — like printing money, raising taxes and increasing the size of the federal government, no revolution in history has ever been successful only by taking what is wrong away.

“You hear a lot about rights but not a lot about limits,” Beck said before adding that the Tea Party is bringing back those limits.

At the same time, “you don’t inspire people by telling them ‘no’ all the time,” Beck explained. We also have to be about creating something new. “We have to bring something to the table.”

Beck said that this movement focuses on the individual, personal responsibility and one’s own desire to make his or her own way in life.

“Someone who earns their own living. Someone who supports their own family. Someone who feeds the hungry…and heals the sick.”

Those who attended Restoring Love, or who read TheBlaze’s coverage of Restoring Love likely understands what Beck is talking about. And you know that is what I believe. We have to serve. We have to take back the work of our hearts. We can’t outsource love to the government.”

Beck said he does not doubt that even a progressive like Woodrow Wilson had good intentions, but that they just “think they can do the work better than we can” through their plans for small business, health care and the nations lending institutions. It is “up to us,” Beck maintained, to show the left that their plans cannot and will not work. And by continuing to vote down their tax increases and by sending congressmen and senators committed to restoring the State to its “proper,” limited role, we can do just that.

To Beck, this is not just a political revolution, but an economic and cultural one as well. While mainstream media may never figure out what is truly happening in our society, Beck believes that as a culture we must continue to restore, “honor, courage and love.”

Ron Paul is STILL in the race, his name WILL be on the ballot for nomination, the delegates are unbound to vote their conscience on the very first round according to federal law [42 USC 1971 (b)]. He is the original Tea Party candidate and he is the only candidate that takes his oath to protect and defend the Constitution seriously. Watch this 10 minute video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jeLb9GzlDI&playnext=1&list=PLC483645C295D545D&feature=results_main

I know that Ron Paul is not the best looking candidate in the world, his voice is not the deepest authoritarian type of voice, but he is true to the Rule of Law, and as POTUS, he would not be weak, he would be strong, he would follow the Constitution and if the people through Congress declared war, the country that we declare war on should hold on tightly as we would go in with everything we need to get it over quickly.

Ron Paul would guarantee a defeat of Obama and put a true Constitutionalist and Tea Party candidate in office no matter what Glenn Beck says. Voters from all voting blocks would vote for him against Obama and he would win by a landslide. Paul supporters are in the process of donating money to an un-bias polling group, and those results should start coming in soon. The poll will show that he would defeat Obama. Romney? http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/general_election_romney_vs_obama-1171.html
    Wake up people.

    Wilson?!?

Wilson was a racist a sexist and a bigot. His wife used to tell racist jokes in the White House to foreign guests and to the cabinet. While president at Princeton he refused to allow women to join the eating clubs, being the last ivy league school to do so, and he personally selected new faculty members like an autocrat. As governor of NJ, he was hated and he only won that state in 1912 so that he could be removed from office, in 1916 Wilson did not even carry NJ. He set up workers compensation in NJ, which people labeled as socialist. He signed into law the legislation that created the Fed, and sacrificed millions of lives in WWI so that businesses could make a profit off the war selling weapons to both sides. All of Wilson’s aides told him in 1915, that WWI would end sooner if America joined, he replied “but how are American businesses going to make money?” He ignored the Constitution completely in trying to secure a peace treaty and avoid the Senate in any decision making. Something that cost him his life. And I didn’t even mention the Espionage and Sedition Acts which banished you from the country for exercising your first amendment rights, just like all you who showed up to buy Chicken Sandwiches.

Please, Wilson was one of the most autocratic, disgusting president’s we ever had.

Glenn Beck: “Sure, I wish we had a president who believed in the Constitution,” Beck said, but “we don’t.”
You were partly to blame by turning your back to Ron Paul, over what? Isreael!! Like Israel needs our help. BS, all of it. Here is Netenyahu and Ron Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12idqpxaujc&feature=related

Glenn, you once said that Ron Paul was closer to our Founding Fathers than any other candidate running, which he is, but after your secret meeting with the rep from Soros, you changed. Now you are on here saying, We do not have a Liberty candidate, Oh well? It is not too late. Ifwe all got behind
Paul now, before the convention, we could still nominate him.

I find it interesting that none of the Paul bashers have come on here. I think it is because they do not want to admit they are wrong. They would rather continue with a candidate they know is wrong for America, rather than admit it. Glenn sounds like a Ron Paul supporter here, and deep down I think he is. It is sad that we are too into ourselves to admit that anything we do is wrong. Let’s look at what has been done wrong during this primary: http://jaretglenn.wordpress.com/2012/07/31/how-the-republican-party-stole-the-nomination-from-ron-paul/
Read the entire page, there are links to verify the truthfulness of the statements and here is a link to read a letter from an establishment GOP chair that gets it: http://centralcitynews.us/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Lt-Reince-Priebus-7-30-12.pdf

Those that would continue to support Romney when his campaign conspired with establishment GOP and RNC big shots to commit criminal acts against federal laws, are not being true to Republican philosophies, but condoning the very type of “Chicago Style” thuggery that is associated with liberals and Obama’s campaign. This would show that you do not care that Romney and Obama are the same. Wake up people, understand that you have been led around by the nose from the MSM; Fox, CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC establishment reporters. It is not too late to turn to the only Tea Party candidate that actually does believe in the Constitution.

    ..

The mainstream media has no idea what is going on. They have for decades lived in a bubble world. Even thirty years ago they were astonished that President Reagan beat President Carter. The mainstream media actually said they did not know anyone who voted for President Reagan.

The same can be said of the liberal/progressives, they are completely out of touch with the American people.

We are on the move, thank you Glenn for all you have done over the past few years in helping America come back.

Stay strong. Even at times if it seems you are alone, you are not.

You and everyone at Mercury are in my prayers.

John… We now have the TSA groping our kids and seniors in diapers at the airports and now it is spreading to other forms of mass transit, we have drones ready to fly across our skies, we have cameras everywhere watching us, we have both Democrats AND Republicans voting against our Bill of Rights by passing the NDAA clauses that allow the president to deem someone a threat to this country so that they can be detained indefinitely without a trial. We have regulations that are telling us what light bulbs we can or cannot buy, smoking is being banned in outside spaces, government is regulating what drink sizes you can have, and to ban specific foods or additives. Water on people’s private property is being regulated in many western states. YOu can now go to jail if you collect it from your roof. So tell me again how we are more free than ever before??

George Romney ran for President with Mitt as his spokesman. To prepare he went to Paris where Mitt was and Mitt interperted for him while he visited with the North Vietnamese government officials there trying to get support to end the war and give them South Vietnam. He then went on to the USSR and actually visited North Vietnam and South. He said he was brainwashed by US officials in South Vietnam and ran on a platform of surrendering to the North assuring that they would be great. Right they murderd millions.

George also met frequently with Saul Alinsky having great praise for him. Remember Mitt was his spokesman and very involved.

Mitt loved his father and had his picture on his 2008 buss.

So it is quite possible that Mitt is every bit the Communist Obama is.
