Bernie Goldberg Tells O’Reilly: Dan Rather Is ‘Delusional’ for Saying There’s No Media Bias

Bernie Goldberg on Thursday called Dan Rather‘s declaration that there isn’t a liberal media bias “delusional” and suggested a psychiatrist would be better suited to unpack the former CBS newsman’s claim.
“I’m not sure why you have a media analyst on to talk about this, I think you need a psychiatrist because what Dan said is delusional. I mean it’s delusional,“ Goldberg said on ”The O’Reilly Factor.”
Rather, who’s currently promoting his new book, had canceled his “O’Reilly” appearance, but appeared on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” Wednesday. During that appearance, he said it “hasn’t been [his] experience” that there was a liberal media bias, going as far as calling such claims “a sham.”
“It’s widely believed that CBS, NBC, ABC — chock full of liberals. Not true,” Rather said. “What it is chock full of is people who wanted to give honest news, straightforward news and voted both ways in many elections….This is a sham. It’s a camouflage.”
Goldberg pointed out there were numerous polls of conservatives and liberals alike that would disagree with Rather’s assertion. He also pointed to an interview Rather gave in August 2004 while Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry was getting hammered by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth organization.
“He said in the end, what difference does it make what one candidate or another was doing during the Vietnam War?” Goldberg said. One week later, Rather gave his now-infamous report about President George W. Bush’s National Guard service, which turned out to be based on fraudulent documents.

In his perpetually immature mind, the world revolves around Dan the Man, and reality will never intrude. He’s dangerous to anyone foolish enough to take him seriously, a snake in the grass. Can‘t predict where he’ll strike next. We keep our distance.

What is transpiring in our country today is self implosion and only a handful of people know why. You guys all know, you wouldn‘t be here if you weren’t wanting a scoop outside of what Fox is ALLOWED to deliver and get by with. Beck is biased in a way as much as our beliefs are aligned I still recognize this. He is just more open and morally sound than any Limousine Liberal.
Just seeing Dan in the headlines lends the crackpot credibility. The guy lies as much as The Great One.

Not what Rather said–what he said was that the imbalance conservatives love to whine and play victim about, that is, to pretend as though the bias SOLELY and OVERWHELMINGLY favors “liberal” causes, or “the Left” is just factually incorrect. Rather thoughtfully observed a wide-mix of ideological viewpoints wherever he has worked, and commented that the biggest change SINCE one particular group (self-righteous conservatives) started crying “victim” is that everyone (except these self-righteous conservatives) is AFRAID to take ANY stance on ANYTHING, Left OR Right.
Viz-a-viz why FOX is the ONLY major American “news” network to MAKE and AIR its OWN political advertisement, and is consistently the loudest, most biased, and least factually accurate of any equivalently sized television “news” network.

How could the traditional media like ABC,CBS,NBC,CNN,PBS be thought of as biased, when they think and report from the same point of view? Where and when did Rather and his fellow travelers acquire their version of reality? In college, when Marxist professors took intellectual advantage of naive schoolboys like Dan to promote the idea that human nature does not exist and that man can control everything if we could just have the ‘smartest’ people, like Barry for example, running things.

Just look at how he went after a story that wash’t true that he wished was true and how he refuses to go after a story that may be true but is against his core beliefs. That is almost the definition of Bias! What is so hard about understanding that? Either he has a bias or refuses to accept the working definition of it!

If tomorrow the Democrats tomorrow were to suddenly be pro-life, anti-gay-marriage, for lower taxes, smaller government, anti-Obamacare, the media would jump right on board and support those issues.
