Biden at It Again: Veep Tells Odd Story of Blindfolding Americans and Says ‘Great’ Cities Are in China ‘Not’ U.S.

Another Joe Biden speech, another gaffe-like comment.
During a speech at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Friday, Vice President Biden strayed into an odd story about blindfolding Americans and taking them to different cities and then asking which one is in America and which one is in China. His conclusion: while most would say the “great” city is in China, they would be wrong.
“Most American’s would say, ‘well that great one is in America,’” he said. “It’s not!”
Here’s the full quote via the Washington Examiner:
“I wish you could travel around the world with me, 600,000 miles so far just as Vice President,” Biden said, adding that he wished he could show them cities in China.
“If I blindfolded Americans and took them into some of the airports or ports in China, and then took one of them to any of your cities in the middle of the night just so that they could see it,” Biden said. “If I said, ‘which one is in America and which one is in China,’ most Americans would say, ‘That great one is in America.’”
“It’s not.” Biden said emphatically.
But he wasn’t done there. He also called the currently-stalled economy the “greatest recession in the history of the American republic“:

I thought it was wild that they build their freeways next to highrises. What I mean is, in some highrises up to the third or fourth floor, you could hop from the balcony and land on the freeway. 14 hour days are daunting. The biggest problem I have is if they are for 7 days a week. That is just not sustainable. But given what jobs are available, I bet those people love those jobs except for the 7 th day., The French OWS revolutionaries tried to make a 10 day work week, because they were smarter than the rest of us & 10 is a round number. It didn’t work.
I think many Chinese are up for 14 hour days for 5 days a week. I also think they can do it for 2 or 3 years. To sustain that for a decade, I don’t think is feasible. A young person without a grub stake can work long hours but as their situation improves they want to dial it back to somewhere between 40 to 80 hours. Not having a weekend of 1 or 2 days is a problem. If management does not fix it other employers will. They will poach their employees with better wages or conditions. I have seen it happen.
We know OWS types will not willing pay more for their i-products.
