‘Big Misunderstanding’: Gadhafi’s Son Says US Is on Wrong Side, His Father Won’t Step Down

In an exclusive interview with ABC’s Christiane Amanpour, Moammar Gadhafi’s second son, Saif Gadhafi, said that Americans will “regret” their intervention in Libya. “One day, they will find that they were supporting the wrong side.”

Big Misunderstanding: Gadhafis Son Says US Is on Wrong Side, His Father Wont Step Down

Gadhafi said that the American and coalition forces are supporting terrorists in Libya:

Simply the Americans and the other Western countries, you are supporting the terrorists and the armed militia. That’s it…One day you will wake up and you made a big mistake with supporting these people. It’s like the WMD in Iraq. It’s another story

He said that he was “surprised” about the military intervention–and he went on to blame coalition forces for terrorizing Libyan citizens yesterday:

Yesterday, we were surprised that … the Americans and the British and the French attacked Libya, attacked five cities. Terrorized people, and especially children, women, were so afraid yesterday…So it was big surprise that finally President Obama — we thought he was a good man and friend of Arab world — is bombing Libya

Will his father step down? “Step aside, why?”

Again, there is a big misunderstanding. The whole country is united against the armed militia and the terrorists. Simply the Americans and the other Western countries, you are supporting the terrorists and the armed militia. That’s it

How well he has learned from studying Obama!
    –blame Bush
–shove what you want down the throats of people and to h*** with the unintended consequences
–I am right and you are wrong

Heck I forgot, with the blue tent we should issue Obama a camel and take Air Force one away from him. You ever see a camel with wings? Seems to me that a WWI plane was a camel.
This nation [USA] is a joke to the world or is becoming a menace. Rogue if you will.
Shorthanded did you ever see a tank fly? The French had to knock out a bunch of tanks to encure the no fly zone in Libya.

“Seems to me that a WWI plane was a camel.”

Yep: Sopwith Camel. A great warplane for the time.

“Shorthanded did you ever see a tank fly? The French had to knock out a bunch of tanks to encure the no fly zone in Libya.”

While talks were about a no fly zone, the UN resolution is about taking all necessary measures to prevent Ghaddafi from harming the civilian populace. This includes surgical strikes against tanks and other ground equipment.

Just need to bomb the hell out of the middle east and put it a few hundred years back in time. Just maybe they will have a Jesus moment and redo there thinking along the way. America is and has been in the business of destabilizing “unfriendly” governments for a long time. The ‘side’ we are ‘on’ is our own, the one that makes the most money any way ‘we’ can.

America doesn’t take sides any more. We are our own side. Our “interests” vary according to our ‘needs’.

I think we have been lied to by our own government. An artical from a British paper states the Freedom Fighters in Lybia against Gadhafi and his son are backed by Al Qaeda or better that terrorist group known as the “Toilet”, “Crapper”, or “The Porcelain Throne”. What ever you call them we are being used to advance the Globalist. I know this morning while watching Fox News the question was asked about Al Qaeda being involved, and our govenrment responded with no such thing Go directly to this website, for more info. http://www.propagandamatrix.com/articles/march2011/200311_libyan_alqaeda.htm

” the Americans and the British and the French attacked Libya, attacked five cities. Terrorized people, and especially children, women, were so afraid yesterday…”

We can take his words for baseless lies as most of us educated in the ways of ‘your’ people know you give a rats ‘A’ about women and children! We know you will use them as a weapon. We know in Iraq and Afghanistan those that work for the military forces there have to fear for their own families because the RATS will bust down their doors to kidnap their children and wives threatening to kill them if they don’t stop working for the military.

Real class, real brave, real clever too as they know we won’t stoop low enough blow up a home where the RATS occupy it holding hostages of women and children. This is what makes the fight in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Libya one tough sunofabitch!

Unless we stoop low enough to play the game real dirty, I’m afraid we lose. Perhaps, we need to sacrifice a few to make them understand we mean business?

@son of Daffyduck, just the fact you are doing an interview with Amanpour says it all–NOT WINNING! The people that listen to this non-news I-am-poor will hang on to those buzz words you have chosen so carefully: WMD, big misunderstanding, whole country united against the terrorists and armed militia, Obama, we thought he was a good man and friend of Arab world.

What makes you think Obama is not close to Ghadafi? He hasn’t been in power long enough to see all of his sides. You wait, after he is reelected all will hit the fan. No one in government will oppose him now, at least they will not risk their own butts to do so. Wait until he has both the house and senate again with an open door. Maybe you will get to change your mind. He is destroying this nation step by step. Ghadafi built Libya from the ruins of WWII. Have you been there. Have you seen the awful way people have to live there? I’ll bet not. This nation is headed for the conditions in southern Africa nations. Shame but true.

      @Hisemiester

“What makes you think Obama is not close to Ghadafi?”

I think it’d be quicker to answer how Obama is in any way close to Ghaddafi. I don’t really see any parallels here. Obama is not president for life, he’s not above the law and not an autocrat. Even another term (which may realistically happen as the GOP has no viable presidential material to run at this point in time) would bring 4 more years of ineffectual presidency and not much more.

“No one in government will oppose him now, at least they will not risk their own butts to do so”

Even his own party doesn’t support him fully. He’s a disappointment to both sides.

“Wait until he has both the house and senate again with an open door.”

Yeah, because last time he just pushed things through without watering them down to the wishes of the GOP (health care bill comes to mind). He had unlimited options and potential at the beginning of his presidency to basically do what he wants (within legal limits) and he did nothing.

“This nation is headed for the conditions in southern Africa nations. Shame but true.”

Which nation? Libya or the USA? For the former, we shall see. For the latter, hardly. Maybe we’ll drop out of the limelight of the world stage at some point in the middle or long term and go the way of all empires, but we’re not ever going to be close to Africa barring an incredible catastrophe unheard of before.

Remember that there are still people loyal to Ghaddaffi in Libya, just like there were still people loyal to Hitler and high-ranking Nazi officers in Germany. There must be trials that showcase all the terrible things they did to show the loyalists that they were on the wrong side. Libya is the miraculous “democrat mid-eastern friend” of the last administration. Gadhafi’s Libya is the born-again terrorist state that “saw the light” and became bosom buddies with the last administration 7 years ago. We faithfully protected them after that – even though their war crimes were on the record, and they became the darlings of the UN and Arab league. Well, in 2010 thanks to Wiki-leaks, we have proof they did the Lockerbee bombing, and they have now been deserted by the Arab League and UN for genocide. And thanks to Facebook, the good people of Libya have had enough of their ruling family.

He and the Secty of State demand Ghadaffi be ‘out’…Then tries to ‘rationalize’ our involvement because of our special abilities…But don’t worry Congress or America..we will TURN over command to the Coalition. LOL..and follow YOUR orders with Our money and equipment. Oh the Arab face on it.
Qattar…wow…Forgot today they condemned it. Gaddahfi has a point…this is Crusader forces..that have been hood-winked into going in to ‘save’ the people….This is the dry-run for Saudi…I mean they have ‘peaceful’ demonstrators there also….Thanks Hussein Obama for setting the stage for the Muslim Brotherhood….and of course the NWO…Seems like you are taking orders from the UN..
Farrakhan is right, ‘Who the hell do you think you are?

I agree totally! What if he IS right?
This morn, when asked why the US forces aren’t doing the same in Yemen, and other countries, that have leaders killing their own citizens, Admiral David Mullens said they have to treat the situation in each country differently, and none of those other countries have asked us to help.
I can now see other “protesters” crying out for no fly zones as well. We should not have gotten involved. This mission will only keep pilots from flying…Gadhafi still has over 2 tons of mustard gas.

Obama and the rest of the whitehouse useful idiots are playing right into the hands of the terrorists. Somebody is going to have to get rid of them, why not let Gadhafy do it. We can get rid of him later.

Comments here show ignorance and massive inconsistency:

Anti-US Gadaffi bad when he’s shooting his people.

But SILENCE here from people like @showtime when pro-US Baharain & Yemen shoot their people.

      Yikes.

Right now, I think it would be in the best interest of the US to get out of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya. Secure our borders, get the economy fixed, and quit spending us into bankruptcy. We cannot afford to be the worlds policeman anymore, let the EU take this over
      ******************************
Nice daydream, but we already have scores of them inside our borders, Not worried about the horse being stolen because of an open barn door, more worried about the barn being set on fire from the kids having the rave inside. Maybe we can’t afford to be the worlds policemen, but at least the car bombs, ied’s suicide bombers, etc. have been doing it IN THEIR NATIVE LANDS, NOT OURS SO FAR! When we took the battle to them, they all headed for Iraq and Afghanistan to prove they could out battle our troops, meanwhile, we could send kids to school, or let them play outside, something that couldn’t have been done if America had continued to be the battlefield. It’s easier to obstruct individual acts of terror, than to fight a war on our homeland.
That said, if there are rogue units in our Army, they’re making that many more out to destroy our troops, I’m waiting for more than pictures which can be doctored, but implore our Pentagon, do everything possible to make sure that this is not another set up by the enemy, and if we have troops that evil, flush them out of our military please, I have beloved family and friends who’ve seen to it that anyone in that uniform was honored by their behavior, please don’t put them at higher risk because of those who dishonor it!
