After his Denair, Calif., school told him to remove the American flag from his bicycle, Cody Alicea, 13, received an amazing surprise when hundreds of patriotic bikers — many of them veterans — showed up to escort him to school Monday morning:
“In this country we’re supposed to be free,” Cody said last week. “And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to.”
Amen.

I hope that encourages anyone who might still be on the fence. And I hope those bikers know each one of them represents multiple thousands of us out here across the country.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 6:01pmThese biker groups are amazing. Patriot Guard Riders unexpectedly showed up in numbers at my friends funeral a week ago and asked if they could form a line and escort the procession due to his military service to his country. They showed such respect and honor to him and to our country that it is hard to think about without bringing fresh tears. God Bless them for the difference they make.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 8:47pmThe original motor cycle gangs of the 40‘s and 50’s were made up of WWII vets who didn‘t addapt well to normal ’slow life’ with its lack of excitement and addrenaline that their war expiriences addicted them to.
The connection to the military and patriotism is still very strong in many MCCs.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 5:54pmWhen are Californians going to wake up and realize that their state is a laughing stock? What is it out there? Too much sun? Too much heat? Does common sense just vaporize in that beautiful climate? Sheesh …

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 6:03pmListen, that is just plain wrong!
I have much the same reaction myself all the time, and California is the last place I would want to go and yeah, there are too many liberal nutjobs out there…But…There are also a great many good people there also. Do not put down a whole State! Especially when people in EVERY state are responsible for our current government. This last election disappointed me in many ways, and Calif was not the only state to drop the ball. We should have won the senate back with 2 seats to spare. This is a national problem, and while Calif. may be one of the states in the most trouble we are all in this together.

Posted on November 15, 2010 at 6:34pmI’m delighted that Cody can ride his bike with the flag on it. I’m delighted that the Veterans showed up in force to escort him to school.
I’m also worried that there will be some backlash because dollars to donuts, I‘m willing to bet somebody’s nose got put out when they saw that display. Drudge had a report on their site that Hispanic students now represent over 50% of the student population in California. I hope people still keep an eye on Cody after this all dies down and life goes back to mundane.
