Bill Maher Mocks…Occupy Wall Street?

In a segment that’s bound to ruffle the feathers of some progressives, Bill Maher had some strong, sarcastic words for the Occupy Wall Street movement on Friday’s episode of “Real Time.”
His overall message: it’s time to leave the parks and get in the game. After citing some upcoming OWS plans, including an event on July 4 that will “facilitate a visioning process” as well as a gathering of the OWS “guitarmy” (i.e. a guitar army), Maher explained what OWS’ next step should actually be:

Report Post »There is a word in the Bible that describes these people who have turned their backs on good old fashioned American family values, the ones we thank God for every day when we realize how blessed we are to live in what used to be the greatest nation on the planet, that word is REPROBATE. When I post thoughts on our local news channel’s FB page I am often times attacked by homosexuals and left-wing communists for my conservative views. My rebuttal to them is to look up the words reprobate, communist, and sometimes insurgent, if it applies, and I then challeng them to open a Bible to find where they are taking this country. Of course I usually don’t get a reply or I get attacked with all sorts of nasty names to which I simply do not reply. Most of these people are too ignorant to present clear thoughts beyond insults so the conversations are always short, they cut and run.

They still had that option, in my opinion, going into the Winter break. They have chosen poorly and have decided to go the way of following the desires and greatest dreams of those who seek nothing positive for our nation. It’s a pity as I once stood tall and proud with Occupy here in Missouri. Now? I feel very awkward even mentioning it for how much the movement has gone the wrong direction since October. Such a waste of efforts and youthful energy.
