Maher to Letterman: Elisabeth Hasselbeck ‘Had Some Sort Of Bug Up Her Ass’

Following his superbly-uncomfortable interaction with “The View’s” Elisabeth Hasselbeck yesterday, atheist-comic Bill Mahr decided to continue the drama hours after his interview had concluded.
Maher, who also appeared on “The Late Show” last night, told host David Letterman that Hasselbeck had “some sort of bug up her ass.”

This statement, which was said in jest, was in response to Letterman asking about what had occurred earlier in the day on “The View.” ”I was abused. I felt like a teenage boy at Penn State,” Maher joked.
Then, he went on to say that the drama with Hasselbeck actually made him look good. Half of his Twitter feed, he claims, is comprised of people who hate him or have disdain for his beliefs, but he said the interaction yielded some positive feedback for him. ”Thank you Elisabeth Hasselbeck for making me look good!,” he quipped.
Maher went on to say that he actually likes the morning show host. ”I like her a lot. We have a relationship on TV where we play like we hate each other…” Then, he topped his proclamation off with a joke, saying that pretending to dislike one another “…makes the sex hotter.” Watch all of this, below:
The original issue that unfolded between Maher and Hasselbeck centered upon a joke the comic made earlier this year regarding Lara Logan. Mediaite reports:
Some background: yesterday, a nonplussed Hasselbeck took exception to a joke Maher made back in spring of this year in which he suggested that former Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarek release then-captured Lara Logan in exchange for co-host of The View. To Hasselbeck’s credit, she calmly confronted Maher over what she claimed was not a funny joke…

PS: I really liked how Elizabeths female co-hosts stood in solidarity w/ the rape victim & the joking of doing the same to EH… Those are some real woman.

His passionate attacks on religion and those with whom he disagrees are an angry little mans cry for help. He needs prayer, he cannot cover his hate filled heart no matter if he recruits thousands to his view point with humor, it will never be enough to satisfy him. I actually pity him and the evident hate and anger he carries with him daily. Must be a heavy load.

Maher goes on Letterman to feel more comfortable because we all know how Dave feels about women.
