Bill O‘Reilly Takes Feisty Annual Stand in the ’War on Christmas’

Bill OReilly Takes on War on Christmas

Zealot secularists take cover, the no spin zone has begun its annual crusade against pinheads from party-poopers who want to Ban Santa to anti-theists who look to take the “Christ” out of Christmas and the “Christmas” out of Christmas Tree. The popular Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly kicked off his annual war against the “War On Christmas” this Friday, for the 15th year.

O’Reilly makes his opinion clear that he finds secularlists who bend over backwards to rename holidays and traditions, “amazingly dumb,” and calls attention to intolerance towards individuals’ right to freedom of speech and expression when it comes to the Holiday, I mean Christmas, Season.

“Zealot secularists take cover, the no spin zone has begun its annual crusade against pinheads from party-poopers who want to Ban Santa to anti-theists who look to take the “Christ” out of Christmas and the “Christmas” out of Christmas Tree.”

Ho-ho-ho. O’Reilly on THE WRONG SIDE of yet another issue (but we’ll overlook all those other ones just now).

“to anti-theists who look to take the “Christ” out of Christmas”

How about rephrasing that “to Christians who know Christ WAS NEVER IN Christmas in the first place”? That’s right, Bill, Christmas is a just another pagan celebration (rebranded with a “Christian sounding” name), which Christ and His apostles condemned.

    For example:

“The exact date of Christ’s birth is not known. The early Christians did not celebrate His birth because they considered the celebration of anyone’s birth to be a pagan custom.” -World Book Encyclopedia

“During the Middle Ages, Christmas became the most popular festival of the year. It continued to flourish until the rise of Protestantism in the 16th century. Some Protestant theologians objected to the extravagant feasting and revelry associated with the holiday. They also attacked such originally pagan customs as the use of Christmas trees and mistletoe.” -Merit Students Encyclopedia

Amen “Badges” what you say here is true, but it should not be a point of contention among us (Christians) for remember paul wrote that we should not walk in strife (Rom. 13:13) and as to the respecting of days:
“One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.” (Rom 14:5) for context you can reference Rom 14:4-14:9

While it’s true that many traditions commonly associated with the current Christmas Season developed outside of the Christian Faith, a feast honoring the birth of Christ was held on or around December 25th as early as 354 AD in Rome. This was presumably because this was the day the sun reversed its southward retreat and proved itself to be “unconquered,” which drew comparisons to Christ.

Here’s a FACT for you anti-Christmas spewers – Constantine wanted the pagans to come to Christ and had the intelligence to claim Christmas as a Christian Holiday.

While Christmas has become too commercialized as America “goes along with tradition”, I see no harm in the fact that we ALL know it to be a time of love, celebration, and fellowship.

      Merry Christmas to all.

      @ WeDontNeedNo…

Here’s a newsflash, George Washington wasn‘t born on President’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr wasn’t born on the day we celebrate his birthday, St. Valentine and St. Partick aren’t really associated with the days we celebrate them, and the Declaration of Independence wasn’t finalized on July 4th so the true day of Independence is more logically August 2.

It doesn’t matter whan the man named Jesus of Nazareth and Galilee, son of Joseph and Mary, was born. We honor that man and philosopher on that day.

Oh, and incase you didn’t know, not all mothers were born on Mothers Day, nor did they go into labor on Labor Day. Christopher Columbus didn’t discover America (Cuba, really) on Columbus Day, despite what Stan Freberg says. And Memorial Day isn’t just a day that you get great deals on cars and mattresses.

Oh, and to atheists, you CAN celebrate the birthday of the philosopher who‘s basic teachings of freewill and kindness helped found the United States without admitting to any gog’s existance.

      So Merry Christmas.

Hey dingbat we know it is not the actual birth of Christ, we know it was used to bring more pagans into the Christian way of life. What you think we are mindless zombies. You go ahead and keeping thinking that, cause when we rise up and kick your ass to kingdom come, you remember this day.

We chose this day to celebrate his birth; the gift giving represents the gifts given by the three wise men to Jesus on his birth. It is the commercial side that has changed the meaning of Christmas and removed the reason for celebrating the birth of Christ. German’s called Santa St. Nickolas, if I remember correctly he brought children candy and placed them in their shoes that were set outside. Over the centuries the ways to celebrate have changed, but the bottom line, it has always been the day Christians celebrated Christ birth.

I disagree with those who believe it’s wrong to celebrate Christ at Christmas. Christians know that December 25th is most likely not the day Christ was born, but what’s wrong with celebrating his birth. He most definitely was born; what’s the harm in celebrating en masse on one particular day?

      attn: weedontneed…..

How about let us rename Martin Luther King day? I find it offensive to hear his name used in such a cavalier manner as to naming streets after the great man. I am offended by the word “King” because it sounds oppressive. Can we not simply call it Martin Luther Day?

You see fi_icknut, you do not have the right to never be offended in life. Your character is defined by your reaction to what you see and hear. What difference does it matter to me or you if some want to celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanza, Chr!stmas, Saint Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day (interesting how so many holidays revolve around Religion, Saints, etc), or Druid Solstice Day?

Are people really offended that others celebrate a holiday that does not infringe on them? Come on, none of these holidays asks for human sacrifices, or for throwing a v!rgin into a volcano!

If I were walking down the street in NYC and a Jewish person wished me Happy Hanukkah, or a Muslim expressed some greeting of joy, I would simply reply “likewise to you” and be on my way, but I would not even consider infringing on their right to be in a celebratory mood by admonishing them to keep their merriment to themselves, that would be poor manners.

Like Bill, I too am tired of one or two people getting their pant!es in a knot and stopping everyone else from having a good time.

      Bill O’Reilly is a “pinhead”.

How can you claim America is attacking Christmas by secularizing it and in the same breathe claim that it is a “National Holiday”?

If you want it to be a National Holiday then it must secular. The fact that the entire nation chooses to observe it is PROOF that there is no war against it – it has been assimilated into American culture (which is legally secular).

Additionally, wishing someone “Happy Holidays” instead of trying to guess what religion they are shouldn’t offend anyone. Embodied in the phrase are all blessings of well being – including NOT EXCLUDING Merry Christmas.

um, hey stupid……as we don‘t know the actual date of Jesus’ birth then why does it matter when it’s celebrated? If it happens that this celebration was combined with the normal winter solstice festival….who cares? Nit pickin stuff like this is stupid. The point is that Christ is the entire reason for Christmas and you just cannot get around that. We are not celebrating mohammed or Jacob or buddha or krishna…..we are celebrating Jesus being born into the world. Pretty simple. The jewish holy days and muslim holy days fall during this time as well but in this nation where the vast majority identify as Christian we celebrate Christmas. DUH! Not one of my Jewish/Hebrew friends begrudge celebration of Christmas nor do any Muslims I ever talked to but most Atheists and Agnostics bitch about it…….never hear them cry about Easter though do you? That‘s a holy day as well and is all about Christ’s resurrection but you won’t hear a peep about that celebration. Nor do you see them hollering to remove menorahs. It‘s an all out assault on Christianity and unfortunately it was predicted in the Bible thousands of years ago and it’s only going to get worse. We are living in the beginning of the end times for the world as we know it. The parallels of current events and prophecy are stunning.

      Romans 14:5-7
One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord;[a] and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.
If a Christian chooses to celebrate by giving Glory and Honor to the KING OF GLORY, GOD manifest in the Flesh, born in a manager, who is the the Savior of the World, and they worship HIM in Spirit and Truth, who are you to judge their motives seeing that they are blameless in Christ? They honor this day to the LORD, regardless of “tradition”, then all Glory goes to the LORD, the Judge of all man

This all started because the school tried to restrict students form of expression. I remember when expression was encouraged in school. Decorating the classroom, having a party, giving gifts, etc. It was fun. I cannot remember a single student ever being offended, or left out. Probably because we weren’t focusing on our differences…… It was just a party and everyone was invited and therefore accepted.
Does it seem to anyone else here, that the current trend does just the opposite?

She devastated the oldest who was just coming to grasp the holiday. Since she made that statement 3 Christmases ago to the boy and girl, the house has stopped being decorated. They also stopped giving gifts. No music. No shows. No gifts. No tree. No religion.

She wholly believes the holiday is a GOP conservative attempt to sell goods and nothing else. We support The Man and Corporations when we run around like unintelligent bugs trying to buy things for family. She knows better. She’s an environmental lawyer, don’t you know. Too smart for you all.

He understands that the left is trying to wipe out FOX and talk radio. If you think the sudden so called fair and balanced crap coming out of the other networks is sincere then you are foolish. It is a ploy to take viewers away from FOX. Don’t turn your back on the network that gives us a voice. O’Reilly is a conservative, he is carefully reporting the news so the Maxine Waters of the progressive movement can’t eliminate the only network that we have. It is a game that FOX is being forced to play. Just like we will be forced to play if Gingrich or Romney win the nomination . We will have a goal and so does FOX. Will we have to compromise along the way to get where we need to go? Absolutely, it is all we have right now. It is a begining. What these progressive elites fail to realize is the symbol of a decorated evergreen tree is exclusive to the Christmas holiday. Muslims don’t decorate an evergreen tree in the month of December nor do the Jews or the folks who celebrate the silly 1960’s invention of Kwanza. True atheists and agnostics shouldn’t but most do because they originally grew up Christian.

What they can’t take away from us is the actual meaning of the symbol. They can’t change history and they certainly can’t change Christmas. If you were to ask anyone what “holiday” we celebrate in December, the answer would be Christmas! If you were to ask the same people what “holiday” muslims celebrate in December, you might not get an answer. The only other vastly celebrated holiday in December would be Hanukah, which is why the United States is called a Judeo-Christian nation.

No matter what fantasy these idiots live in, when someone sees a decorated evergreen tree, they think of Christmas…and call it a Christmas Tree!

Hate to bust your bubble, but the evergreen tree decorating predates Christianity, As does the exchanging of gifts, and all the other Christmas traditions. These traditions were adopted to gain converts who refused to give up their traditions. Christ was not born in December. The shepherds would not have their flock in the pasture overnight during the winter. Rome would not collect taxes in the middle of winter. People did not travel much in the winter then. Christ was born in the fall of the year. The truth is if Christ is excluded from Christmas, Christians should boycott holiday shopping. The only way to stress the foolishness of excluding Christ from Christmas, is to exclude black friday from your to do list.

This whole anti Christmas is making me so angry. These people that think they have the right to ruin Christmas for those of us who enjoy the season is ridiculous. Some of my best memories of my childhood are from the Christmas holidays. When you are a child there is a feeling of magic and wonder waiting for Santa Clause, having your stockings hung, mom making cookies, wrapping presents, decorating the tree, and having your family together. We didn.t have allot of money. We made ornaments and decorations. We always made homemade gifts for our parents. My mom read The night Before Christmas to us. We played Christmas music and sang along with the radio. We watched an old movies that came on every year, It’s a Wonderful Life, and All Mine to Give. We carefully set up our nativity scene and saw it as a special treasure. We sat out cookies and milk and tried to stay awake until Santa came. We usually got one gift from Santa. My mom had a Santa mask that someone (usually my dad) would put it on and peek in the window at us. Then he would ring some jingle bells. I remember how excited and happy I was. It was more about giving than receiving. About family, and the birth of Jesus. I wanted my kids to have the same feelings that I had. I try to do the same for my grandchildren. I am angry that anyone thinks they can destroy the Christmas holidays. They don’t have to join in on the festivities, or celebrate, that is their choice, but allow the rest of us our traditions.

During this Non Religious season, which we have randomly picked:
Please wish all people good karma and energy.
Please buy them something and wrap it in paper and put it under an unnamed tree.
Take time to be good and scare your children into being good because a strange man is watching them all the time and if they are good, he will creep into the house late at night and give them presents. If they are bad, he will be from Penn St. and will bring fossil fuels.
Sing songs, but make sure they are secular and non-religious, mostly about mutated reindeer and magical snowmen.
And this “Season”, take a day off for no good reason, and we won’t call it Christmas, we will call it, Present day for Reindeers and Snowmen.
Merry Something Day and have a Happy New Year, unless you are Chinese, then you have to wait another month for New Years.

I‘m assuming you’re older as I am. When we were kids the left didn’t have a foot hold in the media and academia.

You never heard of the War on Christmas when you were a kid? That’s the oldest war in the world.

I just don’t understand WHY, WHY? What type of satisfaction can people, if you can call them that, actually get? it’s just terrible that we have devolved into this as a society. I WILL NOT LET THEM TAKE CHRISTMAS AWAY,

Just because O’Rielly is telling that there is a war on Christmas, doesn‘t mean it’s true.

The left has messed everything up…no more mailmen..letter carriers..no more stewardesses..now light attendants. Now the nutless ******** are trying to take away anything that remotely refers to Christ.

That’s because you are getting spit out. A real Christian doesn’t need to actively celebrate it on the outside because they know it in their heart, and therefore they can take it away, and 100 years from now someone will be born who knows it in their heart, because it is spiritual.

Look at it this way: the tyrants of the world are going to eventually wipe out billions of people, and then only the cream is going to rise to the top, and then those men will once again walk with God and they are going to slap a cork in the bottomless pit preventing the world population from exceeding a certain number that will keep the locusts pinned in the pit for eternity.

And do you know how that cork is going to be slapped on the pit? Liberty, and no men will be numbered ever again.

We all need to stand up and stop this attack on Christianity. We have been silent for too long. Bill O’Reilly is leading the way. Everyone needs to step up to the plate.

Whatever one might disagree with Bill O’Reilly about, he should be commended for consistently standing up for the traditional values that made this nation great.
