Black Conservatives Make Their Voices Heard After Poll Shows Romney Support Among African-Americans at Zero Percent

A new poll conducted by NBC and the Wall Street Journal shows that support for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney among black people stands at an incredible zero percent. Nada. Zilch. Zero.
But in order for the poll to be accurate, one would have to assume that there are indeed “zero” African-Americans that stand with Mitt Romney. And while the folks at NBC or WSJ certainly aren’t obligated to justify their findings, they would likely have a hard time doing so to the sea of African-Americans who took to Twitter to express their support for Romney after feeling as if they were being ignored — or better yet, as if they don’t exist at all.
Thus the #BlackConservativesForMittRomney hashtag was born. Here are some of the best:
I’m a young, black, female conservative…oh, and I exist.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 2:01amThere is hope after all. Obama won 53-46. About 7%. In a dead heat race, 3.5% switch from Democrat to Republican in various states, will swing the election. There are many signs that indicate, the race will not be that close. All of the polls, with the exception of Rasmussen, are registered voters. They don’t show up at the polls. These polls also purposely call more Democrats than Republicans, by 5-12% and yet, in many cases those polls are now very close. The Rasmussen and other polls closer to November will reflect “Likely voters” Romney already has some thin leads and all the swing states are within the margin of error, such as Pennsylvania. Rasmussen was off by 1% in 2008 and off by .50% in 2004. He does a lot of polling in many different categories and races.
Undecided voters traditionally vote for the challenger. Its also unlikely that Obama will get more votes than he did in 2008, which indicates he is likely to lose. In 2004, Bush got over 11 million more votes than in 2000. Who is going to show up, is always key. Its not likely a lot of younger voters will show up and make the same choice in 2012. In Seattle, I have seen only a few 2012 Obama Biden stickers. They were everywhere in 2008.

Statistically you are probably right. Thing is, NBC used the poll to make people who don’t know how to read stats — probably the majority of Americans — believe that actually NOBODY, ZERO blacks are voting for Romney. So it was good that Black Conservatives for Romney spoke out.
I believe more blacks will be voting for the conservative ticket this time around. They, of all people, are the worst off because of Obama. Methinks many of them are secretly planning to break free from those liberal chains.

With 17% unemployment among blacks and the Obama administration has no solution for this serious problem. The democrats need a lower level populace relying on welfare, food stamps and section 8 housing to hold onto a voting base. I work a food bank and I see many blacks who just want a job. They do not want welfare to take of their families. They want to do that themselves. It’s time they are given a chance and Obama is not the answer.

Years ago, someone accused the church we were attending of being anti-woman because the particular Sunday they walked in, all the readers and all the musicians were men. Well, it was because one of our scheduled female reader was in the hospital following a car accident and two of the other female musicians were home – one with the flu and another just arriving after a trans continental flight that was delayed. Posted on August 23, 2012 at 1:18amSixfrigates: Your stats on the Black population are OLD—they are now at par with the White population and that makes their votes equally important. The Hispanic group is harder to count because of the high number of illegal immigrants, but according to the Census Bureau, they are not far behind the Black population. And why would you refer to any group of citizens as a “mere” percentage as if they should be discounted or were unnecessary? You may think they are insignificant, but the rest of us would strongly disagree with you. And by the way, that 12% figure yu used—That’s the same % noted in the 1950 Census and it was wrong then.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 12:48pmWhy are we targeting the black voters? If 100% of them continue voting for the plantation owners; the majority vote (a total of all other races) would trump their vote. It’s not just black voters we need to focus on…it’s the large number of whites who put him and other Dems in office.
The black v white thing is pointless and so yesterday…

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 12:35amI haven’t heard any black people around me say they are voting for Romney. I have also not heard very many say they are voting for President Obama. What that means is anyone’s guess. Maybe not voting at all? Writing someone in? Just not fessing up that they are Republicans?
I still don’t know definitely what I will do at the poll. I tend to believe that if we can get our country back to love of God, family, and community….the rest will follow. I don’t believe the Democrats have those values as their priorities and I have to vote my conscience and what I value.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 12:08am@WestFromTheAtl who says “You guys are ridiculous, selling out your race. Republicans have never and will never represent black people” needs a history lesson – QUICK.
It was under the first Republican president that the slaves were freed.
It was the Dem’s own Robert Byrd, card-carrying KKK member, who stood on the chamber floor and filibustered the Civil Rights Act of ‘64 for hours. When it finally went to a vote, it passed with 98% Republican support and a measly 64% Dem.
Dems fought to reinstitute segregation, and it was the “social arm” of the Dems that brought us the KKK, as a means to intimidate not only blacks but whites as well from voting, GASP, Republican.
But, yeah… Republicans have NEVER “been for” blacks. Guess that’s why all the first black legislators were Republicans, right?
This is what progressive co-opting of our education system and revisionist history brings us – a populace that has been dumbed down to the point that they don’t even know their own history.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 2:17amMaybe you should go back and read your history books. What you have said is mostly true but you are leaving out major facts. Yes Lincoln was the first Republican but at the time the R‘s were the liberals and the D’s the conservatives.
It was around the time of the civil rights movement that the parties began to “switch”. Though there was turmoil between the parties and alliances since the late 30′s. From the 60‘s to the 80’s there were the “Moderate Republicans” and with Reagan came the Right and Left as we know them today.
So don’t give me this “Lincoln was a Republican and Dems started the KKK” load of crap to try and distance yourself from the racism that envelops the Right these days.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 2:32amOh, yes, TrueSoundsofLiberty…. the ol’ “the parties switched” load of crap. Keep telling yourself that. It’s just a convenient way to twist the truth. No surprise.
The REAL truth is that there are both “conservative” Democrats AND “liberal” Republicans even today. But the simple fact remains that they are still Democrats and Republicans regardless and it was with 98% Republican support that the Civil Rights Act of ‘64 passed. I guess 98% of the Republicans in ‘64 were liberals that switched parties? Sure they were.

Posted on August 23, 2012 at 11:22am@truesound Yes, the republican party was liberal for the time because the terms liberal and conservative are relative to the time. My views would be considered liberal compared the views of most people 150 years ago. In the early 1900′s the democratic party moved to progressivism, but still kept their racist views “We don’t want word to get out that we want to exterminate the ***** race” -Margaret Sanger, “Well keep those n****** voting democrat for the next 200 years”. It was Eisenhower who tried to get the bill passed at first and LBJ, knowing that it would eventually get through wanted the democratic party to have credit so that he could have the black vote and through a system of dependence could keep the general black populace in poverty. The Republican Party is the party of colorblindness yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
