Black Eyed Peas Rapper Peddles Climate Change…While Using Gas-Guzzling ‘Hip.Hop.Copter’

Black Eyed Peas rapper Will-i-am attended a recent talk about climate change at Oxford University before taking off to carry the Olympic torch that same day. His mode of  transportation: a private, luxury “hip.hop.copter.”

On May 21, the American musician, who is also a coach on the British version of the singing competition television show “The Voice,” tweeted pictures of his helicopter as he was leaving Oxford and headed to Taunton, where he would help carry a leg of the Olympic torch.

Energy Live News reports while in Oxford Will-i-am, who was “an ambassador” for the computer company Intel, met with climate expert Miles Allen and reportedly said:

 “Climate change is confusing. It should be the thing that we all should be worried and concerned about as humans on this planet, how we affect the planet, our consumption and how we treat the place that we live in… Who is causing the confusion and why isn’t it a priority?”

Energy Live News also points out Will-i-am, although he arrived via air, met up with Allen on a bicycle.

According to Gigawize, it is estimated the helicopter guzzled about 71.5 gallons of gasoline on its trip from London to Oxford, which would have emitted three-quarters of a ton of carbon dioxide. Gigawize reports Will-i-am saying to students at the university:

“Climate change should be the thing that we are all worried and concerned about as humans on this planet, how we affect the planet, our consumption, and how we treat the place that we live in. ”

Google Maps shows a car ride from London to Oxford University is about a 56 miles, which would take a little over an hour to drive. Directions from Oxford to Taunton is about 124 miles and would take around 2 hours and 24 minutes in a car.

    How are will.i.am and Obama alike? Both have joined the 1% by living off of the 99%.
    How are they different? Obama gets the 99% to pay for his ride, whereas will.i.am has to pay for his own.

      I woke up and it was 58 degrees now it is 62 degrees. The climate DID change and MUST change so what’s your point you DOPE!?

      I 100% believe that there is climate change going on in the world. All year, every year I see the numbers of temperatures going way up and then going way down. There is proof and I think we are all in big trouble if we don’t do something about Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring.

    Some credit cards give statements that list how much you spent by category. We have apps for every thing. Why not an app that calculates you carbon footprint given your purchases & mode of transportation. It can give you carbon footprint for the year.

    Will-I-am is not as sophisticated as Al Gore. I mean he is not a good at sophistry. At least Al Gore is wise enough to buy indulgences for his crimes of conspicuous consumption.

    People bought indulgences in the Medieval ages for sin.
    Liberals buy carbon credits for their sin of living.

    there are only so many trees in the forest. Better buy your carbon credits before you are judged a net liability. Remember kiddies the left eats their own also.

    It’s not a true Hip.Hop.Copter unless it has low profile tires and rims the size of the wooden wheels from a covered wagon pictured in the old west, wheel spinners, curb feelers and jacked up 10′ foot high.     I can safely say I’ve never seen them, consciously heard them, willingly listened to them or appreciated anything associated with them. I accidentally saw them at a super bowl halftime and was appalled at the low level of talent displayed. So their opinion on taxing whole nations along with individual citizens and corporations for an agenda of hysterics means as much to me as any other fools parade down a dead end street.
