Blaze Exclusive: Donald Trump’s Possible Third Party Run Gains Momentum

Donald Trump Moves Another Step Closer to A Third Party Run For the White House

AP

The potential for a third party presidential run from billionaire developer and reality TV star Donald Trump may be closer to becoming a reality show of its own.

The Blaze received a copy of a confidential email sent out late Thursday afternoon from a Florida Tea Party leader and personal friend of Trump. The email requested assistance in building a team in Texas to make certain that, if Trump chooses to run, his name would be on the ballot.

The email included:

Dear Patriot Leader,

I am a tea party leader in Florida and friend of Donald Trump. I am sure you have heard on the news that Mr. Trump is considering a run as an independent. He has asked me to find a “tea party” Texas Chairman for a potential third party by next week. The role requires a Texas voter registration and is due to the voting laws in Texas. The person would not have to change their party affiliation or anything. Would you or do you know of any Texan that would be interested?

The Blaze has spoken with the author of the letter and confirmed its authenticity.

Some restrictive election laws that make it difficult for non-traditional political hopefuls (those outside of the Republican and Democratic parties) to get on the ballot in Texas are cited as the cause of this request. This early work, needed to assure that a candidate is on the ballot in Texas, is also sparking similar investigation in several states.  One assumes that should Trump decide to run for the presidency this fall, his name will be on the ballot in every state.

We stress that Trump has not made a formal decision to run as a third party candidate.  However his recent voter registration change from Republican to independent certainly raises eyebrows and lends credibility to all of the chatter about his intentions.

Smoke and Mirrors. Let us not forget Trump was a big supporter of Obama in 2008, nor that his TV show is on NBC. The birther saga Trump played up and his tough talk against Obama are just a ploys to make him look legit. This is all an attempt to pull enough votes away from the Republican candidate to let Obama walk right in.

I do not like Trump at all. There is nothing conservative about Trump and he represents everything Americans should not be.

With that said, if he wants to run 3rd party, his choice.

America Elect is already one 3rd party that is running so we are guaranteed a 3rd Party already. Trump would be a 4th party.

I see nothing wrong with having more choices besides Democrat or Republican running for President especially since they are so similar in policies.

And NO, a 3rd or 4th party does not guarantee bad BO automatic re-election. That is just foolish…

You are so correct. For whatever reason, it seems the GOP and so-called conservative sites are determined to have Barry win a second term. They know Ron Paul has grabbed the youth vote this time around, that he has more independents and moderate dems in his pocket than any other candidate, but he isn’t playing their warmongering game. It’s obvious they want the total economic destruction of America and perpetual wars.

Trump is openly in endorsing Obama if he run as a third party.

Ron scares me as well but I am not dumb enough take Obama over Paul. Paul can do many great thing for the country. Somethings might not be great but Obama. Really?

Everybody knows that Trump is scared of Ron and would rather have four more years of Obama.
He will even pose as a conservative and run(not to win) as a third party stop Ron Paul just to help the Obama campaign.

      God help us.

The reason Trump would be bad for America is because, while he understands how to exploit economic bubbles (he once said something, a few years back, to the effect that “It sounds bad, but you can still make money in a bad economy” [paraphrase]), he believes that winning trade wars are both necessary and beneficial.

Ron Paul explains why trade wars aren’t necessary.

      See here.

Ron Paul on the Economy, International Trade, AIDS and the Environment (1988)
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYp5BD-omG4

Walter Block explains why winning trade wars are economically destructive to US.

The whole “buy local”, or “buy America” philosophy is actually based on Marxism – that if we don’t produce it, we aren’t benefitting. This is bad economics.

Full disclosure: I can’t provide proof that Trump said something like what I claim to have heard him say, above; I remember it was an interview with a woman, though. Also, I can’t prove that Trump makes his money by exploiting bubbles – this is something I’m assuming.

So take that part with a grain of salt. Hopefully, I will be able to cite a reference for this, at some point.

Nope, Donald had his day. He had me duped when I thought he was serious the first time around but not again. When the press started going after him, he decided he wanted to stay and do his show. What does that tell you? I don’t believe he could handle any kind of criticism and would lash out. He doesn’t want the Presidency. Why would he, he’s a billionaire. He just wants the attention and fame. He needs to stay out of politics now because no one takes him seriously anymore and it would only give the Presidency to Obama. Could things get any weirder!

Donald Trump is everything we want in a President. He’s presidential in word and bearing. He’s the only true conservative among those who might actually win the Republican nomination. I don’t care if his hair is fake or real, I don‘t care how many times he’s been married, I don’t care if he bought Miss America in order to mingle with beautiful women. I don‘t care if he’s clueless about foreign and domestic policy and that a lot of people think he’s bufoon from the top of his ridiculous hair to the bottom of his $1000 shoes.

If he runs with Palin as his VP he has my vote. He’s rich, despite the multiple bankrupties, and he knows how to run this country like a profit making business enterprise.

I am still holding out faith that he is just muddying up the waters for the likes of Ron Paul and Gary Johnson (another Libertarian) who have been rumored to run 3rd party if they don’t get the nomination. Well Gary Johnson has dropped out of the Republican race but is still mulling over the possibility of running as a 3rd party candidate. If there are 3 on the ballot or even 2, what’s the point, right? I just can’t envision Trump helping Obama win.

      OKIE…….
To your ‘third-party-is ok’ philosophy………heres the hole in your argument…
The country is polarized into TWO ideologies now:
      1- Socialism/statism/communism/equal outcomism, or………
2- Capitalism (with its imperfections, but freedom)
There IS no middle ground..there IS no 3rd way (socialism with capitalism). Ask the Chinese about their freedom.
If you allow socialist policies for the purpose of gaining equal results, haven’t you effectively given up on the idea of complete freedom to excell individually? Won’t all you do to excell be to those who will not improve themselves? Where will their desire to become ‘more’ come from?

You people are being set up to lose the most important election in our history. The ‘fix’ we find ourselves in will not be un-done in a generation. It will take time, due to the new American expectation of government doing for us what we could do for ourselves.

Donald Trump supported Obama four years ago; he also ahs been a staunch democrat. Donald Trump has given strong indication of his true feelings. He knows this will divide the conservative ticket.
Years ago I was in support of Perot, he had 21% when he pulled his candidacy because of the death threats to his daughter. Still at the end Clinton had low 40ish%, George H Bush 34% PEROT RECEIVED 19% and there were others independants — Nadar and someone else. I would soon realize this divided the Rep ticket and bailed in time to support Bush.
Trump is either commiting due his ego, which is difficult to deny with his history….or he truly still supports these progressive initiatives we are currently enduring.
Regardless, he will not win and his effort will ulltimately be comparitive to the position of Mike Huckabee. Gov. Huck mainatined his candidacy when he was clearly irrelevant. His actions divided the conservative ticket between McClain and Romney. McClain proved beyond incapable, he is a Theo Roosevelt Progressive which is complimentary to Obama’s socialism.

If Trump pulls this off, this will split the vote and we get OBama for 4 more.
Big names and Corporations get sweetheart deals each day with OBama.
A third party must be well established, with years of preparation to capture the trust the citizens who it wants to curry.
We have lived the results of “Hope and Change” with OBama. He sedated the population with his promises, then slipped it to us with the use of executive orders, bypassing congress, CZARS, Atty Gen Holder with Fast and Furious, Government Motors, bail outs for his friends on Wall St., must I go on?

PSUTOPGUN, I agree there is no room for a third party in this election. We could use Trump for a couple of reasons but not as president. Businesswise he could be an assett, financially we could use his support. I do think we should put together a third party for the next presidential election. A conservbative party. We will have 4yrs to organize and develope one. It would take allot of work but it might be our only hope. I do not think we can beat Obama. We are not financially equipped to get it done. I still believe Hillary will come into this next election. Either as president or VP. Which would put her in the top for 2016 as president if she is VP. I am still not sure if we will either have an election in 2012 or that if we do by the time 2016 rolls around this country will no longer have elections at all. The next year will take a toll on our freedoms and the amount of possible permanant damage that will be done is frightening. America as we have known it is in trouble thanks to the progressives. If we could get a decent candidate that Trump would back financially it would help. Perhaps if he was offered some type of position where he could be useful we could gain some ground. He is very influential, lets not forget. Wer do not need him as an enemy of our party, look at what Sorus has accomplished with his money. As far as having a conservative party goes, why not after the election? Who ever gets the nomination for the republican party, for now we have to support them.

Trump, like the recent push to write in Sarah Palin on the ballot, is yet another distraction in the race by the Elite Establishment to try and take votes away from RON PAUL. They are scared and they are trying with every effort to ensure RON PAUL does not get elected to office. Because the Elite Establishment knows if he does, he’s going to reverse course on their plans to create their one world government.

Constitutional Liberties & The Ron Paul newsletter:“ How to kill a black person and get away with it”
“It is the hip-hop thing to do among the urban youth who play unsuspecting whites like pianos. The youth simply walk up to a car they like, pull a gun, tell their family to get out, steal their jewelry and wallets, and take the car to wreck. Such actions have ballooned in the recent months.

In the old days, average people could avoid such youth by staying out of bad neighborhoods. Empowered by the media, police, and political complicity, however, the youth now roam everywhere looking for cars to steal and people to rob.

What can you do? More and more Americans are carrying a gun in the car. An ex-cop I know advises that if you have to use a gun on a youth, you should leave the scene immediately, disposing of the wiped off gun as soon as possible. Such a gun cannot, of course, be registered to you”

For someone who seems to have “everything,” Donald Trump is a very petty man. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him run as a third party candidate to get back at the RNC for snubbing his campaign and other Republican candidates for snubbing his debate.

Remember his feud with Rosie O’Donnel? Every time she would say something about him, he would respond tit for tat. Also, if you ever watch his show, he always retaliates when someone shows him the slightest bit of disrespect. These are things that a petty person does. Oh well, if he does run, I actually think he’ll pull more people away from Obama than from a Conservative Republican, because he appeals to the same kind of people Bloomberg appeals to (i.e., weak-minded moderates).

Been checking the polls…all of them. If Trump runs it will split off enough of the vote that Obama will take it. As it sits Obama is in a dead tie or beating most. That will change once the Republicans have a candidate their party can galvanize behind, but if you think Obama will be easy to beat you better think again. A Trump run will seriously muddle things up.
